As soon as you reached the training grounds, you threw yourself toward the training course, practicing your tumbles and jumping across the maze done by Commander Sadis himself. You threw out daggers precisely at the target, dodged knives thrown at you, aimed perfectly at every target with your rifle, and maneuvered through the forest trail using your ODM gear around the cadets' barracks in record time.

You sat on the bench as you discarded your uniform. Your body glistened in sweat as you tied your long hair in a messy bun, soft hairs framing your pretty face. Your shirt is drenched and you discarded your jacket long before you began. You drank water and poured it on you, relieving yourself from the heat.

"You're good," a male voice said and your head turned in the direction of the voice, "I was on my way to Erwin's office and saw you enter the training ground. I was curious and I followed. No wonder you're Captain Levi's second in command," he said with an impressed tone.

You nodded and smiled at him, "Thanks," and you resumed drinking your water. You felt him sit beside you and he offered you a sandwich, "Didn't see you at the Mess Hall. I was going to eat this later, but I think you'll need this more than I do."

You tried to decline, but he pushed it on your hand and he stood up, and turned his back on you, "I guess sticking around for a few more days would be interesting for me," he winked and smiled at you, "I hope I get to see you around more," then he left, leaving you speechless by his forwardness.

Nevertheless, you were hungry and the sandwich that he gave you smelled go good that your stomach rumbled in hunger, so you ate it and went back to train some more.

Your teammates arrived fifteen minutes later and you noticed they were with your Captain. They found you sprawled on the ground, panting heavily with your hands loosely holding your blades, breathing heavily as you just finished practicing your swings for the nth time that day.

"See I told you she'd be here," you heard Petra's voice say, "good thing we saved her a sandwich."

Gunther only chuckled as he found your figure resting on the grass, blocking the sky out of your way with his face, "Found you," he grinned.

"Dedicated as always," Oluo remarked as he removed his jacket and placed it neatly on the bench next to yours.

Eld offered his two hands at you and you took them and he pulled you off the ground. You sheathed your blades and dusted your body and smiled back at Eld, "Thanks."

"You skipped a meal," Petra said in a stern tone, "again," as she took out the sandwich, waiting for you to turn to her so that she can give it to you.

You turned toward her and saw Levi walk toward the rest of you. You gave him a polite nod then you turned to Petra, "It's fine. I have already eaten."

"What? When? We didn't see you at the Mess Hall. We were all there," Petra asked as she indicated and gestured that you were the only one missing.

"Sorry," you answered genuinely, "I planned to eat earlier, but somewhat lost my appetite so I decided to train and that Cullen guy happened to walk by and approached me. Then he gave me his sandwich," you finished and you noticed that Levi gave you a questioning look from your peripheral view. You did not look at him but remained indifferent while you said it.

Petra only huffed, then accepted your excuse then placed the sandwich on top of your uniform, "But still you have to eat this. Look at how much weight you've lost," she pointed out and you paid no mind and turned to the direction of the forest.

You felt Levi's gaze on you, but you looked the other way. He has been ignoring you for days and seems like he has found another person that's worth his time and attention.

This time, Levi decided to join the practice and catch up with the formations and executions with his squad. You want to make sure that your timing is precise and that you'd get to be more comfortable in each other's presence. However, this time, the challenge is your dynamics with Levi. You're usually in sync, but now, you're not so sure anymore.

However, as soon as you started to move through the forest, you found yourself getting your pace with Levi back. At least, this is something that can't be taken from you and him - your flawless teamwork.

You felt happy that your whole team is complete today to train together. You sat with them on the bench as they rambled on and on about new strategies and techniques, Oluo commenting about something that would always get Petra annoyed.

Levi sat there with the team, between Eld and Gunther, while you and Petra sat comfortably on the ground with Oluo. Eld shoved the sandwich into your hands and Petra scolded you for missing out on your meals, but you just shrugged and started to munch on the forgotten sandwich they set aside for you.

"Seriously," Petra said, "You have lost weight. I can throw you easily on the ground."

"Wanna bet?" You challenged, raising an eyebrow and smirking at her.

Without a warning, Petra tacked you on the ground, however, you were quick to swing a leg and you wrapped her waist between your legs, pinning her down in a couple of seconds.

You smirked in victory and released her, making Eld and Gunther wolf-whistle at the two of you. "Damn, Laney. You're stronger than you look," Petra commented as she rubbed her wrists that you pinned with force.

Oluo raised an eyebrow and commented, "Cause you're both girls. It should be different when you're facing a man."

Petra laughed sarcastically and directed a challenging look at Oluo, "Be my guest," and of course, he couldn't turn away a challenge.

He was face down on the ground in a matter of seconds, making Petra laugh hysterically. "I told you. She's stronger than she looks."

Eld and Gunther did not even try, but they clapped their hands at your presentation. Levi sat there watching everybody and you just feel contented that you had the whole day spent with your squad. It's refreshing and comforting, to be in each other's presence.

"I'm built differently," you said smugly and resumed eating your sandwich.

"I'm beat. I want to take a bath," Petra whined and all of you agreed.

Suddenly, a feminine voice interrupted your moment and you all turned to its source, "Hey Levi! We need to go now," you saw Emilia strutting toward where you all were, "Before it closes. We need to get there," she said as she crossed her arms on her chest and tapped her foot impatiently, giving you an arrogant smirk and returning her attention to Levi with the sultriest eyes that she can do.

Levi released an audible sigh and stood up, while you wished for him to just have a day off and hang out with you and the squad. He's allowed to do that right? Surely Erwin would allow a day off.

"I have to go. Good job today. Keep it up," Levi said as he walked toward Emilia. You followed his form and can't help but feel a pang in your chest and you felt disappointed that he had to go. Then again, you're not really in a position to tell him what he can and cannot do.

So you just watched him leave with a somewhat sullen expression in your eyes, You stood up and excused yourself, smiling at your friends and thanking them for the day. You went back to your quarters and took a much-needed bath and retired for the night, happy that you're exhausted enough to get a dreamless slumber.

Levi followed Emilia with a grumpy and annoyed scowl on his face. He really did not want to leave his squad, his... you. He wanted to make up for the time that he spent away from you. He missed you and couldn't help but feel jealous whenever somebody would approach you.

He was also annoyed that the Cullen bastard had interacted with you, even given you something to eat. He couldn't also help but notice that you were growing closer with Eld, seeing that sometimes you would sit by him and you'd exchange interactions that would make you laugh or smile.

He couldn't help but get pissed off at the idea of you getting attracted to another person. So yes, right now he is pissed at Emilia and Erwin.

He was following Emilia blindly and realized that they were now going to ride a carriage and he stopped suddenly. "Oi. Where are we going?"

Emilia gave him a sweet smile that pissed him even more than he already is and replied, "You'll see. Just get in. We need to get somewhere."

Against his will, he rode the carriage and sat across the woman. He crossed his arms and did not even hide his mood and Emilia crossed her legs in front of him and stared at him.

"You'd look more handsome if you'd only stop scowling," she commented and Levi only glared at her.

"Where are we going?" he asked again, not even caring if he sounded angry or rude.

"Out. We need a brain break," she simply replied.

'A brain-break? A fucking brain-break?!'

Oh, he's pissed. He was already having a brain-break by spending time with his squad, with you and she interrupted him with this nonsense.

Levi gave her a deadly, menacing glare, so intense that she somewhat tensed up a bit, unsure of how he would react. She thought this would make them closer, that she'd finally have a chance to get him all for herself.

Levi slammed his palm against the interior of the carriage, so hard and loudly that it stopped. He opened the door with such force that the driver went to check on them with a worried look and he stomped his way out of the carriage.

Emilia followed him and called for him, but he did not even look back and walked his way back to the HQ, muttering curses.

He felt her catch up to him, hearing her pant heavily as she tried to keep up with his angry strides.

"Levi, come on! What's wrong? We're just going to take a look around and -"

Levi faced her with a sudden sharp turn and for the first time, she felt intimidated by his reaction.

"In case I wasn't clear, I wanted to finish this mission the soonest as possible so that I can get rid of you. I was having my 'brain-break' by spending time with my Squad - my fucking Squad and you fucking wasted my time with your nonsense, while some of my comrades are risking their lives outside the walls wherein we could help instead of spending time here inside dealing with your incompetence of not doing your job well."

He meant every word and he just let it out, making it clear that he was fed up.
