Majestic Yo-kai Fauntleroy: it might be debatable if what she id was right or wrong, she was still committing genocide on a large scale. I don't think Hagoromo or Hamura fully knew what her reason was since I think it was only given details in boruto. Not sure since the rest of the Otsusuki were not introduced until Boruto.
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark: thank you, here is a long chapter that I hope you enjoy
Planar-Walking-Entertainment: you will see the result of your suggestion in this chapter. As for black zetsu, he is still hidden in the shadows with Madara
WindyCitySlayer1: you will be interested in this chapter as several things you put in your review brought some ideas here.
Guest 1: your question will be answered in the end author's notes. Please read the chapter before you read those
Guest 2: Danzo doesn't know about what happens with jinchuriki when they use the power. He does understand that anger may bring out the beast but he doesn't get that emotions help quel it down
Codywhite162: there will be interaction between the Hygua clan and Kaguya and you will have to read to see when it happens
NaruLemon Stories: there will be more moments like it in this fic. Hope you look forward to them
Blank Lord: there will be more moments of them together and I hope you enjoy the build I have going for them.
Karasong photo: I get what you mean, I just see a good amount of reviews with it. I only though tof Kaguya raising him in this fic. I will take your pairing suggestions into account. I never thought of Mei being a slut. I always saw her as just a flirt, and a romantic as she would like to have a solid relationship. that doesnt make her a slut, and I wont be doing such a thing if I bring her into this.
Zachosg7: glad you like it. Hope you like where it goes
HyperA2019: well here is chapter 3
Amerikhan786: you bring up a good point but I don't know about pairing him up with Kaguya. We will see where this goes about that and his thoughts on the village. One thing about the pairing, a girl doesnt need to relate to Naruto in order to be with him, they could just understand and accept him for him. Sure relating with him would be helpful but it isn't the defining factor. (though it is a major boon)
MajorChaos13: the growth will be slow but once it picks up,it will pick up. Kaguya is still powerful and I still don't know what jutsu she should learn.
Crimson Riot 01: gracias
Roswelll: glad you love it
Gohanssjgod: thank you, hi
YeagerMeister31: I figured Danzo would be suspicious since Hiruzen trusts this woman that he doesn't know about. I will have him dealt with when I have things built to it. As for the Hyuga clan…. We will wait and see
Wrightdylen21: we will see where the pairing goes
SPark681: Naruto will be different from canon so I hope you like how he turns out.
Ryu wolf: yes, she has the potential to do so, but those were using jutsu, something Kaguya does not know. She just has raw power and she has no reason to revive Kushina.
A10riddick:thank you and you'll find out
Pdd13: thank you and I hope you will enjoy the rest of the fic
Patch6782: thank you for your suggestions
Sniperbro1998: maaaybe…. Read to find out :) .
Dragon and Sword Master: the pairing of Naruto and Kaguya is just not something I am thinking about. I did set it up as a familial love so there is that.
Kaguya: glad you like this so muc. I will update it as often as i can but I don't know how often that will really be
Kazikamikaze24: well here is more
Louis Smith2: no, it is not abandoned and I am sorry it has not been updated in so long. I just ended up with so many sotries that have my attention but again, it is not abandoned. Glad you like my writing.
Now onto the story
Chapter 3: Missions interrupted
It was a bright day in Konoha as the people were going about their business like every other day.
Shinobi could be seen jumping the rooftops at great speeds in order to get to their posts or to head to one of the gates in order to go off on a mission.
The casual person was just walking through the streets, talking to others or entering shops in order to buy necessities or a small bonus.
Though, among all of the normal people that were going about their lives, one of them could be seen as anything but normal.
Walking through the streets of Konoha was Kaguya as she was, what many would assume, enjoying the day. She wasn't in her normal robes as they were seen as extensively long and caught too much attention. She was now wearing an icy white kimono that stopped just over her ankles with the hem of the sleeves marked yellow and a white ring on her back that could be considered a representation of the moon. Overall, it was just a smaller version of her usual robes that showed off a bit more of her figure, which was once hidden thanks to the size of her previous robes. But it wasn't just her attire that had changed. Her hair, which once was long enough to drag on the floor, now stopped just above her rear and the horns that were once visible on her temples were now gone. Everything else about her has remained the same.
She looked around at the villagers as she thought about how different things were from when she was revered as a goddess by the people. Before, the people would usually bow to her the second they see her, now….. They act as if she was just any other citizen.
It was refreshing.
"Good afternoon, Kaguya."
One of the reasons for that was the woman that just spoke to her. She turned around to greet the woman that was walking up to her. "Good afternoon, Mikoto."
The woman that walked up to Kaguya was Mikoto Uchiha, the matriarch of the Uchiha clan and someone that had made a strong first impression on Kaguya when they first met.
The two women had met when Mikoto had appeared at the residence that Kaguya claimed as hers. When Mikoto heard that her best friend's son was in the hands of a woman that she had never heard of before, she had to go see if the woman was capable of taking care of Naruto. Her first impression of Kaguya was that the white-haired woman lacked the emotional requirements of taking care of the boy. Kaguya seemed to lack any form of emotions and just went about things as if she was a robot given a task. If Naruto, son of Kushina, the most hyperactive Kunoichi Konoha has ever had, was raised by a woman that did not seem to care much for anything, he would be stunted emotionally and would be but a shadow of what his parents used to be. Mikoto argued with Kaguya, which seemed to be one-sided, about taking Naruto to be raised with a full family.
Kaguya however, obviously did not comply with the Uchiha and would have counter-argued, or outright killed the woman for her insolence, if not for the sudden crying of Naruto. When the sounds were heard, Kaguya outright ignored Mikoto and moved to hold Naruto in her arms. She realized that it was time for feeding and did what she needed to do.
It was when Mikoto watched this that she realized that despite the stoic visage Kaguya had, she would smile down at the baby in her arms. She saw the actual care Kaguya had for the baby and she soon lost a lot of her anger toward the unknown woman. She thought about what this brought up and if she could not take Naruto away from Kaguya, she would instead do what she could to help in raising the boy. She would do it when she had the time as she still had her own newborn that required her attention. She hoped when they were older, Sasuke and Naruto would be able to be friends, just like Kushina wanted.
Now Mikoto would like to think that she and Kaguya were friends. Though Kaguya was far more stoic than the Hyugas, making it very difficult to pin down her thoughts. With how Kaguya's eyes were, Mikoto would not doubt that she was a member of the clan's main branch, exiled, rogue, or just estranged. "I'm hoping the day is treating you well today."
Kaguya nodded. "It is. I have yet to run into anything that could fowl up my stroll."
Mikoto nodded. "With the few times you are seen outside, I would assume that you would find a nice day like this to be to your liking." Her eyes wandered around in curiosity as she wondered where Naruto was. "By the way, where…."
"Hey, Mom!"
Mikoto looked over her shoulder with Kaguya looking past the woman. They both saw a young boy with spiky blond hair running up to them and Mikoto looked back to Kaguya to see the woman gain a small smile.
This was Naruto Uzumaki, six years old, and the adopted son of Kaguya Otsusuki. He was wearing an orange kimono top that had white hems and trimming and a white collar. On each of the sleeves were three tomoes going from his shoulder to the end of his sleeve, counting six in total. For his lower half, he wore tan shorts that had multiple pockets. On his feet were simple sandals with the final piece of clothing he had was an orange headband tied around his head.
Naruto made it to them and tackled his mother's legs in a hug. He looked up with a bright smile, not caring that his tackle had no effect on her.
Kaguya smiled down at Naruto as she asked. "Is there something that you wish to tell me, Naruto?"
Naruto shook his head. "No, I just saw you and wanted to say 'hi'."
"Don't I get a hello?" Mikoto looked down at Naruto disapprovingly as the young boy turned around and smiled brightly at her.
"Hi, Aunty Mikoto!" He hugged the woman in greeting before moving to stand next to Kaguya.
Mikoto smiled at the pair before addressing Naruto. "It is good to see you, Naruto. Where were you just now? You usually never really leave your mother's side."
Naruto pointed to the side as he animatedly answered. "I saw Itachi walking down the street and I wanted to say hi to him as well!" His smile grew smaller as he thought about what he noticed on Itachi's face,
~flashback~
Naruto was walking with Kaguya as they were enjoying a stroll through the village. He then noticed Itachi walking by on the other side of an alley. Being the hyperactive kid he was, he began to run toward the Uchiha.
Kaguya turned her head to watch Naruto run off. "Naruto?"
Naruto paused for a second and looked at his mother. "Be back in a bit! I saw Itachi and wanted to say hi." He didn't even give her a chance to say anything.
Kaguya watched as Naruto ran off toward the eldest son of Mikoto. She had met the boy before and saw that he had grown fond of Naruto. She would be concerned about Naruto's well-being but with how skilled the boy was, in comparison to the other "shinobi" she had seen, she knew that Itachi would be able to protect Naruto from anyone that could potentially attempt to harm him. She chose to continue her walk but made sure she focused most of her senses on Naruto in case she needed to go and assist.
Naruto made it to walk behind Itachi and he tilted to the side to look up at his face.
Itachi was deep in thought about something that he had been thinking about for the past few days but he did notice he was being followed. He caught sight of the blonde hair and could not help but give a small smile at being followed by the bundle of sunshine. After a few minutes of it, he spoke up. "You should work on your following skills as I already know you are there."
Naruto jumped at being caught but he smiled as he ran around Itachi's legs to be in front of him. "Morning, Itachi!"
Itachi smiled at Naruto and gave a greeting. "Morning, Naruto."
Naruto frowned as he could tell that something was bothering him. Itachi may be stoic to a degree, the Uchiha had nothing compared to his mother. He stepped closer and tilted his head left and right as if to get every detail of the teen's face. "What's wrong?"
Itachi let out a sigh as he figured that he wasn't hiding his emotions well enough if Naruto was able to see that something was bothering him. He didn't feel like trying to divert the boy's attention but he wasn't going to go into details. "It is nothing major, Naruto. I just have a mission that I will be going on. The mission is very important and it will be taking me out of the village for a bit of time." He continued walking with Naruto walking to his left.
Naruto had heard that Itachi had gone on many missions out of the village but he was never this depressed. "Then why are you frowning? You've done this before. Your mom said so."
Itachi smiled at the innocent perception the boy had as he didn't get the gravity of his upcoming mission. "It is just something that will take a long time before I can come back and I am just trying to enjoy the village I live in."
Naruto tilted his head again as he still didn't see the reason to be sad. "Well, there is a lot to like about the village. Maybe you can take some Ichiraku ramen with you, or you could get some Dango to go. The purple girl said it was the best thing ever and that she would eat it every day."
Itachi chuckled as he knew of only one person in the village that would say something like that. Anko acted more like a child than he did, even though she was six years older than he was. "Maybe I will follow your suggestion, Naruto. It would be a nice piece of home that despite being a short-lived enjoyment, the meaning will last much longer." he looked down at the boy and brought his hand up.
Naruto followed the hand with his eyes before he went cross-eyed and felt his head pushed back a tiny bit as he felt Itachi poke him in the middle of his forehead. It slightly hurt but it was more shocking than painful. He brought his hand up to the spot as he wondered why Itachi did that.
Itachi smiled at the boy. "Don't ever lose yourself, Naruto. This world has darkness in it and I hope you can continue to see the light through that darkness."
Naruto tilted his head as he didn't really get it but if Itachi was asking him to do something, it wouldn't hurt to listen. "You got it, Itachi!" He then began to continue walking, with the boy staying in his spot. "Maybe you can help my brother out when he needs it."
Naruto pouted at that before shouting. "I still don't even know what he looks like. You and your mom keep talking about him but I never met him!"
Itachi chuckled as he looked over his shoulder. "You'll meet him when you start the academy. That is….. If your mother lets you." he turned into an alley to wander the village on his own.
Naruto continued to pout at Itachi and made a mental promise to go to the academy to meet Sasuke since he had heard a lot about him from his family. Once that was done, he looked around and saw that he was alone in the middle of the street. Feeling like he had been away from his mother long enough, he ran down the street, looking down alleys to see if he could spot his mother, not realizing that he had bypassed her as she was hidden by one of the buildings. After a minute, he chose to just run down an alley back to the street he was once at and then saw that his mother and Mikoto were talking. He smiled as he ran toward them and called out. "Hey, Mom!"
Even though he was just with her minutes ago.
~flashback end~
Naruto frowned at how sad Itachi seemed and he wanted to know if there was a way for him to make the older boy feel better.
Seeing Naruto's mood dampen, Kaguya felt the need to do something to make him smile once more. She placed her hand on his head and spoke. "Naruto, I believe it is time for lunch. Perhaps we can go to Ichiraku today."
It didn't even take half a second for Naruto's mood to flip as he gave her the brightest smile he could give. "Yes!"
Kaguya nodded before looking at Mikoto. "Will you be joining us?"
Mikoto was in her own thoughts at the mention of her elder son before she was snapped back to reality by her question. She composed herself and shook her head. "Sorry, but I still have some things that I need to take care of. I will wish you two a good meal."
Kaguya nodded before she felt her sleeve being pulled by Naruto.
"Come on. Mom! Let's go, let's go!"
"Vey well, Naruto."
Mikoto watched as Kaguya began to be dragged by Naruto and could not stop the smile from forming on her face. But it was then that her mind went to something dire that she felt compelled to do. "Kaguya!"
Kaguya was only a few feet away as she stopped and looked at Mikoto over her shoulder. "Yes?"
Mikoto thought about what she was doing but her eyes went to Naruto who was still tugging on Kaguya which had no effect and this reaffirmed her nerves. "I would like to suggest that you don't leave your home in three days. Just a ….. friendly piece of advice." Mikoto bowed to the two before spinning around and walking away.
Kaguya wondered what that was about but she was brought out of her thoughts when she felt another tug.
"Mo~~om, come on!"
Kaguya chose to push Mikoto's advice to the back of her mind and allow Naruto to drag her to where they were going to have lunch.
As Kaguya was being dragged by her son, her eyes moved to the ones that began to whisper as they walked passed. This had become a common occurrence since she had taken Naruto in. Something that she was able to gather was that Naruto's status as the jinchuriki of the Kyuubi was leaked to the public. She was asked to try and keep this a secret from the public when she had taken up the role of Naruto's mother yet after only a couple of weeks, it was leaked out which infuriated Hiruzen for some reason. He had told her that he would investigate who was it that let it out and if the situation was salvageable.
It wasn't.
It took only a week for most of the village to know about Naruto's status and Hiruzen was furious. He had asked her to keep this from Naruto as he was going to pass a law to keep it from spreading further and that she was allowed to tell Naruto when he was ready to know.
Kaguya did not see the reason for it to be kept a secret but as she was new to this world, she chose to accept it and she figured that she would tell Naruto when he could fully understand her words. At the moment, he wasn't but he would be soon.
She would have just ignored the whispers and glares as she had received a few of them in her old village.
But it somehow escalated one day when Naruto was three, leading to the unfortunate fates of those that were foolish enough to try.
And coincidentally, this led to her fully meeting the second clan she had kept her eyes on.
The Hyuga clan.
~flashback~
The village was in an uproar as an incident had taken place in the Hyuga clan compound. A meeting that was supposed to take place the following day with a delegate from another village was revealed to be a ploy by the visitor from Kumo.
The negotiator from Kumo was running through the streets of Konoha as his original plan could no longer be done as the route he was supposed to take was cut off by a group of shinobi. He kept ducking in alleys, doing his best to not make any noise and to keep his prize from moving so much.
He was a civilian rank denizen of Kumo but was given slight shinobi training so he would be able to infiltrate whatever he needed but not be detected by sensor-nin or perceived as a threat with his minuscule reserves of chakra. It was a risky job but he had done this several times in other smaller villages and got away from the enemy. But this time, he was wishing he had some more shinobi training as he was still too deep inside Konoha and it almost seemed like every shinobi was out in search of him.
The Kumo denizen was a man with a darker skin tone, a brown goatee, a balding head, and wearing high-class clothing that would be used for important meetings.
He poked his head around a corner only to pull his head back at the sight of a few shinobi looking around the area. He mentally cursed the Konoha shinobi as they were close to finding him. 'Damn it! Whoever gave us the info on how to get into the Hyuga compound should have included a way to get out of the village and the level of security they have!' One of the things he was hoping for was that with the chaos that the village would be in when the news came out, citizens would come out before they begin running about in confusion. He would be able to blend in and sneak his way closer to the village gates. Yet, the village went into lockdown and it seemed that there were no civilians out and about.
He was on his own because the shinobi escort that came with him was already detained the second the Hyugas found out.
What none of the Kumo visitors knew was that this specific day was Hinata Hyuga's birthday. Because of this, she was the main focus of the compound even during the night as she was enjoying her presents.
And it was that very little girl that Kumo wanted in order to gain access to the Byakugan.
The man hoisted up the sack that held the girl as he moved deeper into the alley in order to find another way out of the area. He was fortunate enough to be able to sneak past a few streets but he knew that he was going to run out of luck sooner or later.
Yet it seemed that some fortune had hit him as he saw a group of civilians gathering together and heading toward some location. He didn't know where they were heading but if he could just blend in with them for a minute to get himself further out, he would take it. He waited till a few of them walked past the alley he was in before he moved in to join them. He looked around at the people and couldn't help but wonder why they seemed to be, what he could guess, manic. He noticed that they were heading in the direction of a house. He figured that since there were people already there, standing in front of the gate. Whatever they were planning on doing, he would sneak away soon enough as he didn't care about what they were doing.
The civilians he had joined had their own plans for chaos during this situation. Several civilians had noticed the shinobi of the village frantically searching for something in the village. They wondered what it could be that had their attention but something in the back of some of their minds made the decision to use this to their advantage. One of them had said to the others that they could use this chance to get their revenge since the shinobi were too busy with whatever they were doing to pay attention to them. Word began to spread in the eastern residential district and what began as just a few with the idea, became a small mob. Now they were heading in the direction of a specific house that held the focus of their ire.
Kaguya was sleeping in her futon with Naruto laying on top of her.
Naruto had his own room and his own bed since futons were usually used for traditional and for guests, with beds being more common use, but Naruto still chose to sleep with his mother
Something she did not mind.
It was a new experience for her as this was something she had not done with her previous sons, but she found that she enjoyed this bit of skinship.
The last three years were something she found herself enjoying for the smallest of things. In this time, she was not ruling the people around her, she was not revered as a goddess, and her daily life was so mundane. And she enjoyed it. She was still doing her best to regain her power but it was a slow process. She could say that she had a good amount of her power back but she had no chance to see since she had no reason to use her power. But she was fine with it.
Her eyes snapped open as she could sense the approaching group. She had already sensed the movement of the shinobi going about the village but she didn't care about what it was they were up to. As long as it did not disturb her, she would do nothing.
With how the hierarchy was, she did not have the "authority" to do anything. She could very well ignore Hiruzen's order and do as she pleases but the matter did not seem that important. Conflict was something that happened even in the past, but she would not deal with it till she was back at full power and Naruto would be safe.
Now though, there was a group outside her home and she would not tolerate any hostility that might harm her new life here, especially Naruto. She slowly sat up and gently removed Naruto from her body and placed him on the futon. She gave a small smile as she saw him grab the pillow and curl around it before snoring a bit louder. Seeing that he was still sleeping, she moved toward the entrance of her home, not bothering with hiding her full appearance.
Something that was requested of her was to use a henge to hide her horns as it might bring too much attention to her, and with how a lot of ire was targeted toward Naruto, it would be best to minimize exposure to any degree.
She thought it was very interesting how these shinobi used chakra. Instead of using it as a force itself, the people have learned how to manipulate it into many different forms, for passive, aggressive, and defensive purposes. What they call "jutsu".
Hiruzen had a man called Kakashi teach her how to use the henge since she had told them that she could use chakra. She could feel the difference in how the chakra flowed in her body when she used a jutsu for the first time. She was told with a bit more practice, she could become more proficient with it.
Hiruzen did not know how strong Kaguya was as she had not displayed any of her power to him and with how her chakra gradually got stronger, it went unnoticed by all in the village.
She opened the door and saw a group of people standing there, glaring at her as if she had offended them in some foul manner. "What business do you have with me?"
One of the men stepped forward as he growled out. "Stand aside, bitch! Our business is with that thing you have inside there."
Kaguya's eyes narrowed as she thought of only one thing they could mean. The only thing of importance inside the house was Naruto. Not only to her but Hiruzen had also told her about the importance of his jinchuriki status. She closed the door as she stepped forward in a way to block their path. "Are you here for Naruto?" She normally would have just removed them from her sight but she had made a promise to herself that she would do things differently in order to find out what it was her sons saw in these people. She may have found some inkling of why but this was something that she had seen before. An angry mob going after someone that had done them no wrong.
Another of the villagers threw his hand in the air as he shouted. "That thing in there took away my sister!"
"It killed my brother!"
"Stole my family from me!"
"Killed my husband!"
Kaguya watched as they continued to shout out what they had lost due to the Kyuubi. The Kyuubi was another thing she had little understanding about as she still could not figure it out. The beast was always hostile to her every time she entered that chamber, which she had learned was Naruto's mindscape. An interesting thing to learn.
But for now.
Kaguya glared at the people as her chakra level rose. "You wish to harm my son due to the action of a beast that is within him. You shall not touch him as I will deal with you here and now!" Her hair began to rise with her chakra flowing around her body.
The civilians could not care less about what Kaguya said as they chose to march toward her to shove her out of the way and get inside. Yet the second they were a few feet away from her, the front of the group was flung to the side and into the five-foot concrete wall that took up the side and back of the house yards. The walls cracked on each spot that was hit by the body of the people that were flung. The ones still standing looked toward the woman and saw the clear sins of the Byakugan before they all felt an immense pressure push them down into the ground.
Kaguya glared at the people now pressed down as she stepped forward. "You believe you have the right to come to my dwelling and threaten my son for your selfish reasons!"
The closer she got to them, the harder it was for any of them to breathe or stay conscious. Some of them even felt so much pressure that they could feel several of their bones breaking from the power. Some even began to bleed from their eyes as their body was breaking in many different ways. They couldn't even scream in pain as their organs felt like they were being crushed including the vocal cords.
Kaguya scanned all of them as she thought about just blowing them apart for their insolence, yet her eyes caught sight of something in the back of the group. She turned her head to it and narrowed in confusion. She stepped over the people that were at her feet as she lightened up her power. Once she got to what she saw, the man that caught her interest gasped for breath as he held onto a sack in his arms. She could tell that he wasn't focused on his surroundings as he was trying to regain himself from what he experienced. She reached down and grabbed the sack in his arms with no resistance since he was still out of it. She pulled on the string that was keeping the sack closed and opened it to see what was inside. She saw that it was a little girl tied up, gagged, and crying. She noticed that the child must be around the same age as Naruto and that thought angered her even more.
The Kumo visitor was gasping for air as he stared into the night sky. He was regretting joining these people as he had no idea that they were heading to the location of a person that had the power to rush them just by staring at them. When he finally got a full gulp of air in his lungs, he felt immense relief, and the stars began to come back into focus. His mind then registered that he no longer had his sack. He was about to get up and look around to see if he could find it, but in a blink, the pressure was back tenfold and he coughed up blood as he felt his entire body being crushed to the point his ribs broke into pieces. He was cognizant enough to shift his eyes to the woman and register the Byakugan eyes pinning him in place. Though his mind couldn't think of anything else as he felt his skull cracking.
Kaguya put the pressure harder on the man that had obviously kidnapped this little girl. She did not know who the girl was but the fact that she looked to be Naruto's age made her furious and she was going to deal punishment to the one that would do such a thing. She held the girl close to protect her from her attack.
It was then that her Byakugan caught sight of a large group of people heading her way. She shifted her head to "look" at the new people and saw that it was shinobi from the village along with Hiruzen and many of the Hyuga clan.
Hiruzen looked around to see all of the people on the ground and looked at the woman and asked. "What is going on here?" He noticed her Byakugan glaring at the people around her. He was about to ask how she had that Kekkei Genkai as he was unaware of it but something in his mind pushed his curiosity away. Instead, he asked. "Kaguya, what happened here?" His eyes went to the unconscious Hinata in her arms and wanted details
Kaguya had thought about the time she had defended herself from the people that came after her when she was with Tenji and how he sent out his warriors in order to kill her. She tensed up as she would not allow them to attack her when she defended herself. She once had connections to the villagers under Tenji's rule, this time she had no such thing so she would not hesitate to remove them from this world if they were to attack her. "These people came to my home in an effort to do harm to Naruto. Seeing them as a threat, I defended myself and Naruto by dispatching them." She waited for what they would do before she took action.
Hiruzen felt like there was still something missing so he looked around at the unconscious people on the ground before his eyes landed on the Kumo negotiator, who was the one most damaged. He looked to the Hyuga that arrived with him and asked. "Can any of you tell me if this was the one that had kidnapped the young Hyuga?"
One of the Hyugas shook his head. "We are unsure as we did not see him specifically. We can get into contact with the ones that did see him when we tell Lord Hiashi about finding his daughter." He looked toward the woman that held Hinata and made his way toward her. His mind did go to the fact that she had the Byakugan but it was not the main priority at the moment. He would need to speak with Hiashi about this. Once he was directly in front of her, he held out his arms. "Would you allow me?"
Kaguya looked down at the little girl before handing her over.
The Hyuga man nodded before he turned to the others of his clan and they began to make their way out of the area, leaving a few to assist in detaining the Kumo negotiator along with several of the civilians.
Hiruzen sighed as the situation with the Hyuga clan seemed to be coming to an end. He looked to his shinobi and told them to detain all of the civilians here and take them to the T and I department.
Kaguya stood her ground and eyed all of the shinobi for any sign of action toward her but they only focused on the people on the ground.
Hiruzen cleared his throat as he moved to stand in front of Kaguya. "I must apologize for what these people did. I had hoped they would hold in their hostilities against Naruto but I suppose I put a little too much faith in them. If you are worried about being punished for doing harm to them, do not worry. You acted in self-defense and from what I can tell, they are still alive, though I do not know their physical state till a medical team examines them. Should the need ever arise again, you are allowed to defend both yourself and Naruto. For now, you should go see how he is doing." Again, something in his mind was telling him that he should ask her more about what she had done and how she had the Byakugan but it was smothered again.
Kaguya was a bit surprised about how he would not do anything against her for what she did. She assumed he would attack her with all the shinobi as she did not install anything that would stop him from attacking her, only to not ask too much about her and that she was trustworthy. Slightly pleased with this, she nodded and moved to go inside the house and back to Naruto.
"Kaguya, please don't tell Naruto about the attack as I feel that he shouldn't have to worry about this yet. He is still very young so he should enjoy his childhood instead of worrying about the people that despise him for something that isn't his fault. Let him be happy."
Kaguya looked over her shoulder at him, thinking about what he asked. Naruto being happy was something that brought her joy, so if she needed to keep this a secret in order to have that, she would do so, but she would continue to defend him as long as she can. Nodding, she opened the door and went back inside.
Hiruzen commanded all of his shinobi to move the civilians off the property before he had to go to the Hyuga compound to discuss what should be done next.
Kaguya re-entered her bedroom only to give a small smile at the sight of Naruto, still sleeping and splayed out on the futon. "Such a heavy sleeper." A term she learned while living in that village and thought fit Naruto perfectly at the moment. She moved to join him in sleep as she picked him up and laid with him, causing him to snuggle into her once more.
~flashback end~
The matter with the Hyuga clan turned out to be detrimental.
For Kumo.
When all of the people were taken into the T and I department, they separated the one from Kumo and brought in Inoichi to peer into his mind to find out the details of the kidnapping. They were able to confirm he was the one that kidnapped Hinata but there was a scuffle as they had to hold Hiashi back from killing the man.
It took five Jonin to hold the man back as he was close to piercing the man's heart, and with how delicate his body was at the time, Hiashi would have pierced the table as well.
Inoichi was able to get the mission from the man's head and informed the Hokage of the Raikage's order to kidnap one of the main branch members of the Hyuga clan and if it was possible to get one from the clan's leaders. The details the Raikage gave led the man straight to Hinata's room, which brought up a bigger red flag as the only way that the Raikage would know this would be because of a spy.
Hiruzen thought about this as he was worried about who the spy in his village would be, but there was nothing in the man's head that would give away the information. This was something he would have to investigate subtly as he would not want to alert the spy and any of his possible allies. He was thankful that Kaguya was able to stop the kidnapping since the man might have been able to get out of the village walls and they would lose not only a member of the village but Kumo would use her for breeding, and he would not wish that on anyone, let alone a sweet girl like her.
Choosing to keep some details to himself, so as to not alert the Raikage that they pulled the information out of his man's head, they sent a messenger hawk to Kumo, informing them that they would not be having any more talks for a ceasefire. If any denizen of Kumo were to be found in the Land of Fire, they will be killed on the spot without a chance to speak.
Kumo is now on Konoha's watchlist, and it was Kumo's fault.
Kumo wanted to refute this and once again attempted to claim the Byakugan by demanding the one that killed their man as payment. The problem with it was that the man was still alive at the time of the message, and thanks to their clear attempts of obtaining the Kekkei Genkai, the man's life was forfeit.
"Order up!"
Naruto was close to drooling when the bowl of ramen was placed in front of him but he did his best in keeping it in since he knew that Tuechi would get on his case for drooling on the counter and Ayame would be mad as she was the one that would have to clean it up.
Kaguya had a bowl in front of her as well, with her having a miso ramen bowl while Naruto decided to go for an all-meat this time around.
They discovered the ramen stand when they were looking for something to eat. Kaguya was powerful, but she had little knowledge of meal preparations. When they were walking the streets, Naruto caught a whiff of something delicious and followed his nose to the stand. It was then that they met Teuchi and his young daughter Ayame. Teuchi greeted them jovially and offered them a free bowl for their first taste of ramen. Naruto found it to be absolutely delicious and he could not help but want to eat it every day. Kaguya though, knew that they couldn't eat it every day as it was clear that it wasn't healthy, so she made it so that every time they wanted to celebrate or if she wanted to spoil Naruto, they would eat here and they would pay with the stipend that they got from the Hokage.
Hiruzen paid them a bit of money as part of the way to take care of them. Though this was more for Naruto as the boy needed caring and Kaguya was doing a major service raising and protecting the Jinchuriki. Not to mention that the money was being pulled from Minato and Kushina's accounts so the money was Naruto's to begin with. He was just in charge of it till Naruto would be able to handle money himself.
The two grabbed their chopsticks and split them apart before they decided to begin their meal.
A ten-year-old Ayame was watching the two as they ate and nervously fidgeted. "So….. how is it?"
Naruto paused for a second before he slurped up his noodles and answered her. "It's as tasty as ever. Well…." Naruto thought about the taste and noticed that it had a slight difference from the other times he had this bowl. "It tastes like something is different but it is still tasty."
Ayame let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Thank Kami."
Naruto tilted his head as he asked. "Why? Is there something wrong with it?"
Ayame shook her head before smiling. "No, it's just that this is the first bowl that I made myself. Daddy told me I was ready to start making the ramen myself." she pointed toward the kitchen area to show Teuchi waving a ladle at them with a proud smile. "Well, he helped me a lot but I did a good amount of it."
Naruto smiled as he took another bite. "Well, I think it is really tasty."
Ayame bowed to the boy. "Thank you, Naruto." She then looked to Kaguya who was sitting there quietly as she continued to eat. "Is…. is it good?"
Kaguya finished the mouthful she had before looking at the girl. "Mm."
Ayame felt disheartened at the sound as it meant that Kaguya didn't think much about the bowl.
"Why are you sad, Ayame?"
She looked back at Naruto before answering. "She doesn't like the bowl. I guess I still have a long way to go before I can make a good bowl of ramen."
Naruto tilted his head in confusion at what she said. "What are you talking about, Ayame? She really likes it."
Ayame raised an eyebrow as she looked back to Kaguya and couldn't see any sign of her enjoying the meal. "But…"
Naruto pointed at his mother's face and brightly said. "Mom is really enjoying it! She's super happy at how well you were able to make the ramen." He got up from his seat and hugged his mother's waist as he beamed at Ayame. "Can't you tell?"
Ayame looked back at Kaguya's face and there was really no sign of her being happy. But then she saw a small nod from the woman and this made the little girl happy she pleased her customers. Feeling accomplished, she moved back to the kitchen to ask her father to teach her more about cooking, leaving the two to continue their meal.
~three days later~
Today was the day that Mikoto informed her that they should stay inside and Naruto was bored.
"Mo~~m, why can't we go out and do something?" He was laying on his back and stared at the ceiling, trying to stave off his boredom with little success.
Kaguya was sitting on the couch reading a book that she had gotten from the library. It was a fantasy book that spoke of heroes, enemies, and dragons. When she heard her son complain for the sixteenth time, she answered him. "It is because Mikoto had advised us not to leave the house today. I do not know for what reason but with how grave she sounded, I would not take the warning lightly."
Naruto groaned and began to roll back and forth on the ground. "But there is nothing to do~~~~. Why don't we get a tv so we can watch at least some TV?"
"Because the amount of money that is given to us is only enough to sustain us and pay for the utilities."
Naruto continued to roll back and forth for another few minutes till he remembered something he wanted to ask his mom. Getting to his feet, he moved to the side of the couch before he asked. "Hey, Mom, can I go to the academy to become a shinobi?"
Kaguya paused in her reading and turned her head to look at him. "Why do you want to become a shinobi of the village? You had never spoken of becoming one before now."
Naruto went to his knees and folded his arms on the couch arm and laid his head on his arms. "Well, I always thought the shinobi were cool and I have seen many do all those cool jutsu. I wanted to learn some of it but they told me that I have to go to the academy in order to become a shinobi so I can learn it. Then there was Kakashi that told me that if I want to become a shinobi, it means that I will be responsible for protecting the people of the village. That I would have to grow strong in order to be a strong soldier for the village but to also be strong enough to protect my comrades and loved ones. When I heard this, I really wanted to become one so I can protect you and my friends in the village."
Kaguya stared at Naruto for a second as she thought about what he said. 'Protect me? I need no protection.' She knew that there was nothing in the world that she should fear, especially since she had regained most of her power already. It took a while with what she assumed to be a side effect of her being sealed but now she could very well handle anything that could come her way. But the thought of Naruto doing something in order to protect her…..brought joy to her heart. Hagaromo and Hamura had never said something like that to her before. They respected and worshiped her, but they had never thought to protect her. The difference in how she was treated by her sons was most likely done because Naruto had no idea how powerful she really was and he didn't worship her the way her previous sons did.
He just loved her.
There was also the different way of life they were in. Not wanting to deny him what he wanted, she answered. "Very well. I was also informed about the academy by the Hokage and recommended that you join when you are of age. When the time is right, I will speak with the Hokage in order to find out the process of entering."
Naruto jumped into the air with a cheer. "Yay!" Naruto began to play around the house, pretending he was already a shinobi by doing "hand signs" and acting like they were doing something. All the hand signs were just him making weird shapes with his hands.
Kaguya watched him for a second before she went back to her book. Though her mind went to Mikoto's warning. Her curiosity was getting to her, but she was unsure of what she could do to find out what it was. The way the warning was, made it seem that an attack was coming and that anyone outside might be hurt. If something like that was going to happen, how did Mikoto know about it? ' Is she a spy for an attacking force, or perhaps something is forcing her into something she does not wish to be part of?' She heard a crash and looked up to see Naruto had tripped over a chair and was groaning in pain. She closed her book and moved to make sure that Naruto was alright.
There was something that was going on, and Kaguya was going to do what she could in order to protect this new happiness she has.
~later~
Night had fallen and Kaguya was putting Naruto to bed. He had tired himself out with all the pretending he did and now was out like a light. Once she was sure he was in her futon, she stood up straight before her eyes went to the window. So far, nothing happened throughout the day but if something major was to happen, it would be during the cover of night. She activated her Byakugan and saw that there was no one close to her home and with the distance she had with her sight, that would be the case for the rest of the night. She looked back at Naruto before taking a breath to use her henge, summoning a rift in space, and walk through it. She would find out what was going on from the one that warned her.
Mikoto.
~Uchiha compound~
Kaguya made the rift appear in an area that didn't have any living thing nearby, which would allow her to protect her true abilities. The second that she walked out of the rift, she immediately knew something was wrong. She activated her Byakugan and saw the dead bodies littering the streets.
Men, women, and children, none were left alive.
She wondered who would have attacked all of them so she expanded her vision in order to find anyone that could be responsible. It was then that her eyes caught sight of someone being attacked. Channeling her chakra to levitate off the ground, in a burst of speed, she flew toward the attack. In a blink, she arrived and saw someone being attacked by another. She chose to choose which to side with, she sent out a shockwave toward the attacker, strong enough to blow them away but weak enough to leave them alive. Once the attacker was sent away, she landed on the ground and looked at the one being attacked. She saw that it was a girl wearing a Konoha headband, something she had seen on all of the shinobi of the village, which meant that she had chosen correctly. "Are you alright?"
The girl nodded before turning toward where her attacker was sent. She saw the man get up from the pile of rubble he was sent into as he had crashed into the side of a wall which shattered from the force of the attack. "Thank you for helping me but he isn't down yet."
Kaguya turned to face the attacker and saw that the only thing that could be distinguished about him was the odd mask he had.
"A Hyuga? Why is there a Hyuga here?" The man was not expecting a Hyuga to be here to aid the Uchiha but this brought up problems for him. With the Byuakugan, the woman might be able to see past the ask or register his chakra signature if she had the chance. His eyes went to the girl, the one he was supposed to deal with while Itachi dealt with most of the clan members. He was going to deal with the girl first before he had his own fun killing the Uchiha if not for this interruption. Now that the girl was alert and aided by an unknown, his chances of handling this quietly were now significantly lower. He could not allow his existence to be known as it would be more beneficial for him if no one knew about him. This was a fight he did not want to deal with, especially since that shockwave he assumed came from the woman was powerful. Weighing his options, he activated his Sharingan before a swirling vortex appeared directly in front of his eyes as his body began to be sucked in. 'I may not have been able to do what Itachi wanted but I got what I want, the death of the clan.'
Kaguya narrowed her eyes at the ability she had seen but she couldn't think of it for long as the girl next to her spoke up.
"Thank you for the save. That guy came out of nowhere and attacked me without a warning. My name is Izumi Uchiha." Izumi bowed to the woman in gratitude.
Kaguya turned to the girl and nodded before she looked back toward where she came from. "Was that man the reason for all the dead in the compound?"
Izumi stood back up in shock. "Dead?! Did he kill others in my clan?!"
Kaguya nodded. "From what I could see, it was done not long ago as the blood was still spreading from the bodies." She focused once more and saw a few other clan members still alive but scattered. "There are still some alive but I do not know how many." She looked at Izumi before speaking. "Go tend to the others, there is one I must check on myself."
Before Izumi could say anything, the woman flew into the air and disappeared faster than she could blink. Now alone, she shook her head before running toward the compound in hopes of finding those still alive.
Kaguya flew toward Mikoto's house as she had visited there once before, though it was not a pleasant visit thanks to Fugaku. When the building came into view, her Byakugan caught sight of someone striking another down. This second attacker was about to attack the third person in the room and there was another coming toward them. She created a rift in front of her to take her immediately into the room. Once there, she did not hesitate to send a shockwave at the one holding the sword, which sent him flying through the paper doors and outside. She saw that unlike the first one, this one was able to recover from her attack and land on his feet. She chased after him as he fled from the area. She was able to cut him off on the street and saw who it was. "Itachi?"
"Lady Kaguya."
The two stared each other down. Byakugan meeting Sharingan.
"What is the meaning of this?" was Kaguya's question as she readied to eliminate this boy.
Itachi eyed her for a second and his instincts were telling him that this was someone that he did not want to deal with. When he first met this woman, he had a feeling that she was stronger than she let on, and now, thanks to that shockwave she sent at him, his suspicions were true. This was not part of his mission and this could very well sabotage his chances of infiltrating this new group that had been gathering.
"I asked you a question."
Itachi felt his nerves scream at him that he should not be here but it was like his feet were stuck in place. This was getting very risky so he saw how long he could keep things hidden. "I have my reasons."
"And what reasons would those be?" This boy, who had nerve shown any signs of being the kind to kill without reason was found here in the process of killing his own family. 'Is this what the world is really like? Were all those moments of happiness just a cover to hide the ugly truth about the world? That these people would go about killing anyone on a whim. What has become of my nursery?' her chakra flared as he was about to send another more concentrated shockwave to kill Itachi.
"To protect that which is important to me."
Kaguya paused at the answer as it was unexpected. "Explain."
Itachi felt the pressure lift ever so slightly and was relieved about that. This mission was supposed to be a secret from everyone, yet here was an extremely powerful Hyuga that clearly had the ability to kill him at a moment's notice. His only chance at getting out of this with his life, keep things a secret, and continue with his mission, was to get her trust. Scanning the area to make sure there was no one within earshot, he swallowed before continuing. "There was a coup being planned by the Uchiha clan against the rest of Konoha. I was tasked with stopping it before it could begin, which was tonight. If such a thing were to happen, many more lives would have been lost, both civilian and shinobi alike. I could not allow something like that to happen so I made it my mission to stop it by taking care of the clan. The Hokage knew about this and I asked him to do one thing for me in exchange for doing this myself and taking all the blame. He is to protect my little brother in my stead." He gained a sad smile as he looked at the woman. "Would you not do the same for Naruto? Would you not protect him no matter the consequences toward yourself?"
Kaguya thought about the question and his reasoning. To kill his own family to protect his little brother from harm. It is indeed something she would do for Naruto. She would have done it for her previous sons, but she was very absent in their lives so they might not have known she would do something like that. Or perhaps it was because of her demeanor back that that would have given them the wrong impression. She looked Itachi in the eye as she deactivated her Byakugan. "Yes… I would."
Itachi nodded. "There is more to this attack that I cannot tell you but please know that I am doing this for the one I care for most. Now I ask you to let me go as I am still not done protecting my brother and my home."
Kaguya contemplated on whether she should allow him to leave or not but as she thought about it, she remembered that the Hokage was told about this. If he knew then the man had allowed the death of all these people. 'For the greater good.' Her view on things felt shaken as this was a new view on how to protect that which is important to you. Not knowing what else to do, she stepped back to show that she was standing aside.
Itachi gave a grateful nod. "Thank you." He thought about how much time he must have spent overall and knew that he was almost out of time. He had not completed his mission fully but he had taken care of all of the members of the coup d'etat. 'Hopefully, this is enough to quell things but I fear that it might not be enough. Hiruzen will have to handle things from here.' He looked back toward the direction of his house and could not help but say one last thing to the woman. "Thank you, Lady Kaguya."
Kaguya was confused about this as she did not understand why he would thank her. "Why are you giving me thanks?"
Itachi turned around and gave a wistful smile. "Despite how I was doing this to protect my village and my brother, I still did not want to kill my parents. You stopped me before I could do it to my mother. Tell her I am sorry for all this and that I forgive them." With his piece said, he jumped away, leaving the village to start the next part of his mission.
Kaguya watched as the boy left as she thought about what he had just said. "'Despite how I was doing this to protect my village and brother, I still did not want to kill my parents'. Did you feel the same way when you sealed me away? Did you regret sealing away your mother but still go along with it in order to protect something else that you love? Hagoromo, Hamura?" She turned away so that she could head home, where Naruto slept with her mind on that last question. She looked up at the moon as she knew that she would not get an answer from them.
Much to her regret.
But it was in the past and now she can only learn things as they go and hope that this time around, she did things right.
~later, unknown location~
"Lord Danzo."
Danzo was walking through his facility before turning around to look at the Root agent that spoke to him. "Report."
"Sir, the mission that you had Itachi undergo was a failure. Several of the Uhiha are still alive."
Danzo fully face the agent as he spoke with an edge to his voice. "Explain to me how he had failed such a simple mission?"
"It turned out that the woman that is in possession of the weapon is indeed a Hyuga as you suspected. Her Kekkei Genkai was on full display when she had stopped Itachi from continuing his mission. Not only that, but she displayed power we had not seen from any other Hyuga in the clan."
Danzo thought about what he was told and could not help but feel angered and slightly appeased at his suspicions being confirmed. The last time they had a chance to witness this odd woman's power was during the Hyuga incident but his agents were too far to get a view of her power. Now, his agents were able to get in close enough thanks to being able to hide among the scattered Uchiha.
He still did not like how he would not be getting all of the Sharingan eyes from the corpses of the clan but he would still be able to get a good amount. He looked to the agent and gave another order. "After the Uchiha are buried, have a team retrieve their eyes and bring them to me. I want each and every one of them brought to me in pristine condition. I am still unable to move about thanks to the previous transplant so I expect a swift completion of this."
The agent nodded. "Sir!" Before he disappeared to follow his orders.
Danzo was frustrated as this was another thing about the woman that he did not like. If she was powerful enough to stop Itachi, he would need to do something about her. She was also in possession of the village weapon which means that he would need to bring her under his thumb. If he is able to control her, he would have another piece that would aid him in taking the Hokage role from Hiruzen and strengthen Konoha even more.
End of chapter
New title. I want to thank Patch6782 for his suggestions which helped with the new title
Kaguya is very hard to write about. I think I made her a bit too stoic in this chapter. I am going to give her a bit more character as we move on.
She learned her first jutsu! Reason for just that is because she is not registered as a shinobi and so she does not have access to jutsu scrolls. I have a reason for having her learn this jutsu that will be revealed soon.
Ok, we are going to be skipping to Naruto's time in the academy. I'm not going to be doing his full time there as I am going to just do the end of his time. I will also be shifting the focus from Kaguya to Naruto. These chapters were more focused on Kaguya and now that Naruto is going to be the age that we all know from the show and manga, he will become the main character once more. Kaguya will still be prominent but not as much as she was in these. Things will also be revealed about Naruto and the changes he has gone through. There will be flashbacks to explain other things but we will see the changes.
Now, I know that someone will wonder where black zetsu is and why he did not say anything when Kaguya intercepted things. Black Zetsu is still with Madara and will stay there for a bit as Kaguya has done nothing that would call his attention. And Tobi is fused with a white zetsu, which is just a human that had their chakra removed and made into a husk, so there is no real connection with black zetsu.
Naruto's abilities are still in the works in my head. I have some of his abilities already planned but there are a few that still need some tuning, such as a power that would be specific to him. There is also his outfit. It will be much like what he was wearing in this chapter but I will make it more combat-oriented.
Now, one thing I must bring up, I will not be doing some of the typical tropes such as banshee Sakura and "I'm so holy" Sasuke. They have been done enough and I find it annoying to use them so much. I will still have Sakura be a fangirl since I can still make that trope fun but Sauske's superiority complex will not be there.
Another thing I will be changing is Hinata's stuttering thing and overly shy attitude. She will still be shy but not to the degree of the show.
Pairing is still not thought of so I will be building friendships with the rest of the characters so that it will be easier when we actually get to it. I will take suggestions if you have any so put it in a review if you choose to write one.
Hope you liked this chapter. 10k words so it took me a bit. I will be going to another fic now, most likely my Mario X Naruto fic and my Legend of Zelda X Naruto fic. I may have not seen the movie yet but damn is Mario everywhere at the moment and I am super excited for the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game.
I will work on a few other fics but I think I've rambled enough.
