A/N: Just a quick filler chapter to catch us up with the season 6 story, hope you enjoy :)

Puck was totally silent as he drove, and Quinn bit back a sigh as she looked over at his solemn expression,

"She's gonna be OK," the blonde tried, but he was having none of it.

"We just left her there, Quinn," he said in a low voice.

"I know," she said gently, putting a hand over his on the gear stick "but she's gonna make friends, and by the end of the day she'll be totally fine. We just have to distract ourselves." by this point, Puck had pulled the car over and was staring directly ahead as Quinn unlocked her phone and dialed a familiar number,

"Rachel?" she said when she was connected, causing Puck to look over at her.

"Quinn, hi!" came Rachel's enthusiastic reply "What can I do for you?"

"It's Beth's first day of school today, and it's a little hard to not worry about her--"

"I understand," Rachel said "actually, I wanted to get your opinion on something, should I come over?"

"Yeah sure," Quinn replied "we can have lunch,"

"Sounds good," Rachel said "I'll see you then,"

"See you, Rach," and with that, Quinn hung up.

"What was that all about?" Puck turned in his seat "I don't feel like dealing with Berry today, Q--"

"Too bad," the blonde said "you need a distraction, and we've got company,"

Quinn and Puck swung by her mother's house and picked up Lucy before finally heading home, where Puck lay her down for a nap and Quinn made lunch, and a few minutes later opened the door for Rachel,

"Hey Rach," Quinn smiled, stepping aside to let the smaller girl in.

"Hi Quinn," Rachel greeted "thank you for having me, where's Noah?" as if on cue, Puck made his way back downstairs, throwing an arm around the brunette girl's shoulders.

"Hiya Berry," he said "what's new?"

"That's actually something I'd like to discuss with you both, if that's alright,"

"Sure," Quinn led the way to the dining area "have a seat,"

"So," Puck said through a mouthful of salad as they finished up lunch "what's up?"

"Well, um," Rachel swallowed her mouthful before addressing the couple "I've been offered a role in a Broadway show,"

"What?" Quinn asked excitedly "Rachel, that's amazing!"

"I know," Rachel said in a small voice "the thing is, I've also convinced Carmen Tipideaux to allow me back into NYADA, so now that Mr Schue is back at McKinley and filing to get his old job back, it means I'm going to have to make a choice,"

"Rach, who have you talked to about this?" Quinn asked.

"Kurt, Sam and uh," the singer hesitated "Jesse,"

"Wait, Jesse?" Puck asked "As in Jesse St James? As in the guy that lied to you and turned you into an omelette? What the hell is he doing back here?"

"He's here visiting his mother but-- Noah, that's not the point! The point is that Sam and Jesse said different things, which means I still don't know what to do!"

"What are you looking for here, Rach?" Quinn asked "You want mine and Puck's opinion so you can keep a tally and go by majority rules? This is your decision, no one can make it for you,"

"Look," Puck told her "I don't know what's going on with you right now, but I do know you've been goin' on about Broadway ever since I met you. It's what you were born to do Rach, so you gotta forget about failure and stuff, OK? Its not gonna happen again, you're too damn talented,"

"Thank you, Noah," Rachel offered him a small smile, receiving a wink in return "Quinn?" the blonde looked up "I need your help, please?"

"Fine," Quinn said shortly "Puck's right, you are talented, but everybody needs a fall back plan; maybe you'll graduate NYADA and be so busy with Broadway that you'll never need to use your degree to get a job, but I think you need to be something more than a starving artist in New York when you're low on roles, you're worth more than that, Rachel,"

"Thanks Quinn," Rachel nodded "both of you have given me a lot to think about,"

"No problem," Quinn smiled "you know we'll always support you, whatever you do,"

"Of course," Rachel returned "and I you." and with that, she got up and made her way to the door, the couple following suit "I'll see you both at the graduation ceremony?"

"Wouldn't miss it," Puck smirked before pulling the brunette girl into a hug, pecking her cheek and letting go so Quinn could do the same.

"So," Quinn said once Rachel had left "Rachel, huh? How crazy is that?"

"Yeah," Puck nodded as he began to clean up the dishes and Quinn opened her laptop and went back to her online classes "how many people get to go back and get a second chance at their dream?"

"I know," Quinn sighed.

3 o'clock had rolled around before long, and Quinn and Puck were buckling Lucy into her car seat and heading off to the school to pick up Beth.

"Mommy, daddy!" the little girl cried out excitedly when she spotted her parents, running over to throw herself into Puck's arms, hugging him tightly as she beamed at her mother who was carrying her sister.

"She had a great first day," Miss Thatcher greeted the couple "it took her a little while to adjust after you left, but after that she was making friends and playing all day,"

"That's awesome," Puck said in relief "thank you so much,"

"It's my job," Miss Thatcher smiled "I'd better get back. See you tomorrow Beth!"

"Bye!" Beth said excitedly before grabbing her father's hand as he put her down, following her family out to the car.

"So how was your day, baby?" Quinn asked, turning around to face her daughter.

"It was the best, mommy!" Beth said enthusiastically "I made heaps of friends and we colored and we counted and we read stories and Miss T gave me a book for you to read with me!"

"That's awesome, monkey face," Puck couldn't wipe the grin off his face, and one look at Quinn told him she was thinking the same thing; Beth was happy; they had nothing to worry about now. Everything was fine.
