It was very cloudy outside as a light wind howled outside the dark prison that is known as Hope's Lament. Normally, one would see interns preparing challenges or the prisoners going about their day in the yard due to it being a grace period between challenges, but none of that was currently happening. George had just freed himself and because of that Davy's planning with the angels was discovered by Abigor and Salem before they could set it into motion. The moment Abigor figured out what they were planning he had Salem put the two remaining prisoners under a sort of spell in the demonic book they had…. Which makes one wonder, can Davy and Deena overcome the odds and save themselves from the evil lurking in this prison, or will they die today before being snuffed out by the detective's bomb? It appears that only time will tell…
Intro Start
The intro started off with a shot of the prison, but instead of cameras popping out, the shot just went to static and cut over to the prison library.
"..." Inside the prison library, Aztaroth was reading a book but was interrupted when a loud crash came from behind him.
"..." The crash was revealed to have come from Romeo, who accidentally knocked over a bookshelf with his strength.
"..." After another static cut, Jade was seen picking up bits of litter in the courtyard, with a guard threatening to hit her if she didn't.
"..." Off in the distance, Picollo was washing off his makeup, suggesting that he didn't wanna wear it here.
"..." With the screen again turning to static, the shot was now of inside the cafeteria where Deena was eating breakfast for the day.
"..." Also in the cafeteria was Edna, who was eating god knows what.
"..." The shot stayed on Deena and Edna for a bit, before suddenly jumping to George who was looking outside from an old watchtower.
"..." George turned around, to see that a grinning Clover was behind him, causing the athlete to jump in surprise.
"..." With yet another static cut, we now got a shot of Relinda desperately trying to call someone on the prison phone, to no avail.
"..." Also in the phone room was Quinn, who had a chart of all the other contestants in her hand.
"..." Suddenly, the screen changed over to Davy and Rival, who were trying to avoid Edwards in the main cell block.
"..." Off to the left side of the cellblock, Jacque and Monica were trying to talk, but for some reason couldn't remember their conversation.
"..." Finally, on the right side of the cellblock was Salem, with the demon's eyes glowing with evil as he tapped his fingers together.
"...There is no escape…" Instead of the final shot of the intro being of the campers around some sort of campfire, it was of Abigor grinning manically, while holding the same blade he used to end Chris.
"...Indeed..." The camera zoomed in and pulled back to reveal Truthteller and Lyre, with the latter putting his hands in his face while the former was going over the plan to bomb the prison.
Intro End5
"Thank you." Lyre waved off a taxi driver before walking over to the same area he was at last time he did a little recon mission on the prison, though this time he was looking for physical proof of demons and not proof of people being there.
"Come on, there's gotta be some flaw in the armor here." Lyre took out a drone from a carrying case and turned it on before flying it over to Hope's Lament's island, he had to be careful when using the drone not only because of the risk of Salem spotting it but also the risk of it getting disconnected due to the very long distance it was a possibility that Lyre had to keep in mind as well.
While Lyre was searching for demons with his drone, he got a phone call from the agency. The detective groaned as he pulled out his phone and answered, "Yes? I'm very busy right now so this better be important… what? They were found innocent? So you're saying that we're about to bomb a prison with an innocent casualty still waiting inside!?" Lyre groaned as he grabbed the bridge of his nose, "I hope Truthteller is happy about this because he's getting away with sacrificial plays yet again!" Lyre hung up the phone and went back to looking through his drone's footage, "Of course, this just had to get worse… of course it did…" Lyre's drone was now close enough to Hope's lament for him to get a good view of the prison.
"Let me try looking through some of those barred windows…" Lyre took the drone lower to get a better view when he noticed something through one of the windows for the cellblock, "Hm?" Lyre took the drone down lower and spotted an unconscious Davy with Salem pacing around him, patiently waiting for Abigor to finish going through his head before he'd kill him off once and for all, "Oh… shit… that's a demon?" Lyre mumbled as he began recording footage of Salem with Davy, luckily for him, the son of Asmodeus was far from omniscient and never even noticed the drone looking through the window, especially with how distracted he was looking at Davy.
After getting a good amount of footage Lyre withdrew the drone from the area while whispering to himself, "I should pull out now… that's more than enough and I don't wanna risk the demon somehow seeing or even hearing the drone flying up above…" Lyre waited for the drone to return before ripping its capture card out, "But… what do I do with this? Obviously, I give a copy to our records, but should the public know about something this horrific being real? How will they react to it…" Lyre stuffed the capture card into his pocket as he began to walk back to the road so he could get another taxi, "But…" Lyre turned back to see the prison far off in the distance, looking like a very faint blob to him, "I can't just leave them behind, can I? I have to do something to help them, but if I go over there I'll just get killed by Salem… what can I do to help?"
"Hell fucking yeah!" Davy grinned as he played a guitar solo with his band while standing on a stage in front of thousands of cheering fans. The rocker laughed as he grabbed his guitar and ended the solo off by slamming his guitar on the stage and destroying it before throwing two pairs of devil horns up while sticking his tongue out, "Good night loves, see you all in hell!" Davy laughed as he and his band went off stage and collapsed on the furniture that was set up for them to use after the concert.
Davy rubbed his face and groaned while shaking with excitement, "Fuck guys, Davy can't remember a tour that went as good as this one… but damn Davy needs a blunt, anybody got one?" Davy asked as another band member of his, Paul, handed him one.
"Gotta say Davy you killed it with the guitar solo," Paul laughed as he played air guitar, "All those small-time bitches who told us we'd never be anything are probably pissing themselves in fear of us right now!"
"They'd better be, nobody gets to call our band trash and get away with it!" Davy took a hit of the blunt before coughing, "Fuck man, where'd you get this stuff? This is strong as hell!" Davy laughed while looking at the blunt.
The drummer of the band, Don, briefly lifted himself off the couch to reveal a small bag of marijuana, "Got it back in New Orleans, been saving it for an especially good concert since the guy I got it from said it was gonna send us flying like a kite!"
"Looks like he was right!" Davy coughed as he shook the blunt, "Fuck though, Davy must've used way too much of this stuff yesterday, for some reason he keeps thinking that he's stuck in a prison with some hot babe!"
"How hot are we talking?" Paul raised an eyebrow and grinned while obnoxiously putting himself in front of Day, "Are we talking about basic one-night stand hot or, fucking, I dunno, two-night stand hot!" The band members all laughed at Paul's comment while Davy took another hit.
Davy scratched his chin, "Oh even better than that man, and that girl had some bite to her too, if only it wasn't a dream, she'd be the coolest to hang out with while on tours," Davy scooted forward, "Get this, she's been in and out of prison for almost all her life because she shows those wanker cops what's what!"
Paul slapped his leg and laughed, "Fuck man, now you're making me jealous as hell, why can't I get dreams like that?"
"Davy doesn't know Paul…" Davy mumbled while passed out on his cell's bed, with the demon keeping a grin on his face as he watched over him.
Salem cracked his neck as continued to pace around the two prisoners in their opposite cells, "If only Abigor would just hurry up already… it's just after morning and I'm just itching to hear these two scream in fear… especially her." Salem turned over to the unconscious Deena, "I wonder what she's dreaming of now…"
"So uh… yeah, that was probably the scariest moment of my life." Deena's ex-boyfriend Andrius rubbed his arm as he recalled the story of him being robbed and Ryo saving him, "I still keep in contact with that guy from time to time, but he's really busy a lot… I think he said he's an author or something like that."
"Sounds like a hell of a work day." Deena was lying on Andrius' bed while the softer boy was searching through of box of things he's collected, "Told ya you should be like me, won't have to worry about people fucking with you once you get used to it." Deena joked while Andrius just gave her a look of pure terror at the suggestion, "Ok, ok, relax, I was just kidding."
Andrius blushed as he rubbed the back of his head repeatedly in an attempt to make himself look less embarrassed, "R-right, of course!" Andrius pulled out a small puppet figure from the box. The teen showed his girlfriend a puppet wearing a very well-made red coat with golden accents and a gold crown. "A-anyways, this is the first puppet I've ever collected, it's called the 'King of Puppets', I d-don't really think it's all too special but I did at least make it a crown out of this trophy I got one time."
Deena raised an eyebrow in interest, "A trophy, hmm? Sounds like a weird thing to turn into a crown, why wouldn't you want to be proud of your accomplishments?"
"It was an 'olympiad' trophy." Andrius sighed as he put the puppet back in the box and slid it under his bed.
Deena looked confused, "Olympics? Dude, that's super cool, why would you want to destroy it?"
"No, an olympiad, one for kids that was based on the MSO," Andrius admitted, "and the trophy was for participation, so I figured I'd get a lot more use out of it turning it into something I could be proud of rather than be ashamed of."
"To be fair, I don't have any participation trophies so there's something you've done better than me." Deena again joked while Andrius just gave a small smile in response, "But yeah, that was a pretty good job, you should make a career out of puppet designing or something like that."
Anrdius chuckled lightly before blushing, "I dunno, that's not my type of thing, I'd kinda like to do something much more flashy… maybe like… an author or something."
Deena shrugged as she opened the door to Andrius' room, "Well, I guess you'll have a ton of time to think about it while we go walk to that one gas station you were telling me about, you're sure they have Mega Chocolate Bites?"
"Positive." Andrius nodded as he grabbed a jacket and put it on.
"Fucking sweet…" Deena mumbled in her sleep while Salem shook his head while continuing to pace around them.
"These two are so boring." Salem groaned as he looked at a watch on his wrist, "And Abigor is really testing my patience… something interesting better happen soon…"
"Oh dear…" Bernadette flew around in a panic while he and the other angels were out of Salem's sight by being in the chapel so they could make their plan, with the chapel itself still being mostly destroyed due to Salem not caring about the state of the prison at the moment, "They've caught onto us! I knew they were gonna figure it out, I should've had Davy start the plan right then and there instead of waiting.
"We can't worry ourselves with them discovering the plan, what's important now is rescuing the two from their trances so they don't get killed." Silas glowed as the other two angels followed him around in the room, "If only we could just interact with the whole world like Salem could… it would be so much easier than this…" Silas cursed the three's situation as he hatched an idea, "But… I believe if we protect Davy and Deena's minds from Abigor's powers and then quickly start the ritual, they should be able to fight back with their lives protected."
Simeon floated around before agreeing, "That sounds correct… we just have to hope they don't get killed the moment they wake up."
"I'll distract Salem so you can help them." Silas stated while the other two angels looked at him, "I'll be fine so don't worry about my health, just focus on freeing those two from their 'prison'!"
Bernadette phased through the door to the Chapel with the other two angels, "Ok Silas… but please… stay safe…"
"I will." The three angels flew down the second floor's stairs as Silas flew faster than the other two and sat in front of the main cellblock to greet Salem, "Salem… the son of Asmodeus himself." Silas bravely stated as Salem gained a grin as he spotted the angel, "Leave these two mortals alone or face the judgment of our lord!" Silas ordered Salem, who just laughed in response.
"Oh? The angels finally reveal themselves by simply making empty threats to me?" Salem kept his grin up as he leaned against the wall, "I'll admit, I'm impressed you three managed to dodge being seen by me and Abigor, but it looks like you're much more idiotic than I thought. Do you really think I'm gonna leave this spot when I know there's another two of you who are also looking to save these two worthless prisoners?"
Silas stayed silent as Bernadette and Simeon silently flew above both him and the demon, not wanting to alert Salem to their presence.
Salem laughed as he stayed in his spot, "Well, I'm not so easily fooled…" Silas watched the dramatic irony unfold behind him while staying in place, "Because after all…" Simeon and Bernadette were both very close to Davy and Deena when Salem cracked his neck, "What kind of demon doesn't expect an angel's tricks?"
The two had only a second to realize Salem knew about them before he smacked Bernadette away from Deena and moved on to Simeon. While Salem was fully able to interact with the angels, they couldn't do the same and had no choice but to keep dodging Salem while he prevented them from getting close to his two hostages.
"Oh, is something wrong?" Salem cackled with laughter as he watched the angels keep their distance to avoid being hit again, "Is it that you need a consenting body to be able to hurt me in the normal world? That sure is a shame, there are two people who would probably go along with it right here, but…" Salem pressed his nail against Davy's neck, "Moving forward would be unwise of you to do."
The three stopped out of fear for Davy's life, "You wouldn't dare!" Simeon yelled at the demon who kept his smirk up.
"Oh? Do you wanna bet?" Davy focused on Simeon as Silas slowly floated away, not gaining the attention of any of the others, "Go on, make a move already!"
While Salem was taunting the three angels, Silas snuck his way upstairs into Salem's office and carefully moved around, "Right… here is above where those two are, I just need to hope Salem doesn't notice me." Silas moved far away from the spot he was at and slowly phased through the ceiling and dropped down into one of the cells, which allowed him to sneak around without being noticed. The angel slowly phased through cell walls before being right behind where Davy was.
Salem kept his eyes off Davy while keeping his claw pressed against his neck, "Well, if you three won't make a move, I suppose I should just kill Davy right now then, huh?" Salem was about to do it as Bernadette slightly moved forward.
"Wait! Salem, we can grant you more power than what you currently have! We can allow you to roam the world free of being bound to a human!" Bernadette promised as he noticed Simeon phase into Davy's body, "Please, just spare Davis' life and we will grant you that power!" Bernadette promised as Salem lifted his claw ever so slightly.
"You have my interest… do go on." Salem still made sure to keep Davy hostage while Bernadette moved forward.
Bernadette's tone slightly quivered as he approached the demon, "It's a small ritual in the book that we have, but if we ever needed to 'forgive' a demon, we'd use it to restore their holiness, let them go and I assure you we will grant it to you!"
"Ah, but how do I know this isn't another one of your tricks," Salem lowered his claw, "I would love to see the proof of this offer."
The two continued to negotiate while Simeon made his way into Davy's mind…
"Yeah, shit, man! Davy remembers that tour!" Davy slapped his knee and fell off the couch he was sitting on while bursting into a fit of laughter, "That one girl was crazy, jumping onto the stage and shit!" Davy kept laughing as he suddenly blinked rapidly a few times, "Ohhh… what the?"
Paul laughed as Davy grabbed his head and the couch while trying to keep himself steady, "Damn dude, how fucking hard did you go on the weed?"
"Davy doesn't…" Davy shook his head as he began to hear Silas' voice.
"Davis! None of this is real! It's all just a ploy from Abigor to keep you defenseless so Salem can kill you!" Silas shouted while Davy took in everything.
Davy looked around as he grabbed a guitar, "This is… Davy's tour that he never got to go on because of prison… he…" Davy looked around at his bandmates, who were now giving him confused looks at his sudden outbursts, "Deena! Deena's in danger!" Davy jumped up and gripped the guitar in his hand, "Take Davy out of here!" Davy yelled to wherever Silas was hiding.
"Yo, are you good man? I think maybe you slipped something else into the stash." Don grabbed Davy by the arm and helped him back to the couch.
Silas' voice returned to Davy, "Davis, you have to get rid of what you desire… that's the only way to leave!"
"What Davy desires… he…" Davy looked over at his other bandmates and groaned, "Guys, Davy is really sorry about this!" Davy blurted out before hitting all of his bandmates with the guitar, something that caused them to turn to dust before disappearing into the air, "Did it work?"
"That doesn't seem to be it… remember, it's what you desire not what you love." Silas reminded Davy as he floated down into view.
Davy looked around before realizing where he was, "Davy wanted to have a concert that would make him known as the best rocker known to man, that's what this is!" Davy walked over to a bottle of alcohol and grabbed a cloth napkin before shoving it in the bottle to make a makeshift Molotov. Davy threw the Molotov onto the ground and watched as the room became engulfed in flames, "Does this do?" Davy asked as everything around him turned to dust, leaving only him and Silas.
"It seems so," Silas turned back to Davy, "Now that we've got you out of the trance, we need your help in defeating Salem and Abigor!"
"Woah-ho-ho!" Davy held his arms up and backed up, "Davy knows damn well fighting Salem is a suicide mission, what are you trying to kill him or something!?"
Silas sighed and floated forward, "Davis… if you agree to let me 'be one with you', you will be granted my physical abilities as well as a sort of protection against Salem, we did something similar for Picollo to help him escape, but this will be what we gave him tenfold, please, trust us one more time so we can help rescue you…"
Davy sighed before nodding, "Davy doesn't really have a choice, besides, you've been trustworthy so far so he guesses this is his only shot."
"Thank you… but first!" Silas blinked suddenly, causing Davy to wipe his eyes from the sudden light, "Your mind is safe from Abigor's tricks now, that should give you a huge leg up when you have to face him. With that out of the way, good luck Davy, I'll be guiding you the whole way…" Silas glowed brightly before suddenly shooting himself into Davy's chest, something that caused the rocker to start glowing the same green color as the angel he 'absorbed'.
"Alright…" Davy rolled up his sleeves before gaining a grin on his face, "Let's rock, hopefully not one last time!"
Davy suddenly shot awake to see Salem still negotiating with Bernadette while he was pressing his claw to his throat, "Oh shit! That guy wasn't kidding!" Davy suddenly yelled before grabbing Salem's hand and throwing him away from him, catching the demon off guard.
"What the hell?" Salem pulled himself off the ground as Davy was still glowing green, "You…" Salem looked over to Simeon to see Silas wasn't there, "Son of a bitch!" Salem flew forward and grabbed Davy by the neck while dragging him across the ground. Surprisingly for Davy, being dragged didn't hurt at all for him, and instead his glow seemed to be burning Salem's hand instead.
Davy grinned as he got up and cracked his knuckles, "It's Davy's turn now!" Davy dodged a punch from Salem before getting into a boxing stance and hitting him multiple times across the face, "Fuck, man, you have no idea how long Davy has wanted to do this!" Davy knocked Salem backward while the Demon grew a much more frustrated look on his face.
"Davis! It's Silas, I can see you've started a brawl with Salem, be very careful because he can still-" Silas was cut off by a spear coming up from the ground and nearly impaling Davy through the head, "Use the powers he gave you all not too long ago!" Silas yelled as Salem grinned and lifted Davy into the air with the same blood powers Edna had, the demon slammed Davy into the ground multiple times before tossing him over to a nearby cell.
Davy pulled himself up and laughed, "Holy shit! Davy's still kicking with no bruises?! Fuckin' wild!" Davy dodged another spear while Salem summoned hell hounds to take care of him, "How does Davy defeat Salem, Silas?" Davy asked before fighting off the many hounds that bit at him.
Davy took a moment took look over at Deena to see that Simeon was floating over her while Bernadette had already gone into her head, "There are two ways Davis, you can use the ritual in the book, which seems to be mostly destroyed…" Davy looked over to the cellblock's floor to see Salem ripped the angel's book to shreds, "Or you could kill Edwards and cut the link Salem has to this world… I can guide you on how to perform the ritual… but you'll need to find the shred that contains the saying to perform it… just don't kill Edwards, he's a prisoner to Abigor just like you are!"
"Davy will… see!" Davy threw a hellhound off his back before beginning to hear a very high-pitched noise, "Agh!" Davy gripped his ears as Salem teleported in front of him and flicked him into the nearest wall. Davy fell to the ground as Salem grabbed him by the neck and transported him to a world that looked exactly like the one they were just in, but with everything being mirrored.
"Looks like Davy's on his own now!" Salem mocked as he teleported away, leaving Davy behind in the alternate world.
Davy looked around while grabbing his head, "Fuck! What does Davy do now!?"
"Stay calm Davis! You just gotta bring yourself two miles away from the prison's island! This type of ability is still connected to the prison so it shouldn't be too hard to-" Davy and Silas heard a loud rumbling noise coming from below the prison, "What… what did Salem summon?"
"Davy doesn't-" Davy was cut off by a giant centipede bursting out from the floor and sending him flying away, "Augh…" Davy dizzily looked up to see the beast was looking down at him while looking very hungry, "Oh… fuck." Davy let out as the centipede let out a roar before moving down to attack…
Deena and Andrius walked out of the gas station while Andrius had a blush from being embarrassed, "Was hitting that man really necessary?" Andrius asked as the two crossed the street and Deena had a proud grin on her face.
"Absolutely, he was being a huge dick trying to pick on you two, so I decided to teach him what it's like to be someone's bitch!" Deena laughed as the two got some stares and Andrius blushed harder, "But seriously, man, you can't let people like that pick on you all willy-nilly, you gotta show 'em who's boss and let them know you can kick their ass!" Deena fist-pumped as she unwrapped a candy bar and bit into it.
Suddenly, Bernadette's voice rang through her head, "Deena! Can you hear me?"
Deena stopped chewing into her candy bar and raised an eyebrow, "Huh? What was that?"
"Apologies for my intrusion of your mind as well as for not starting by introducing myself, my name is Bernadette, I'm an angel who's trying to save you from Salem, but we need you to wake up from this trance!"
"Wait… Davy was being for real!? Angels are real?" Deena dropped the food she was holding while Andrius gave her a concerned look.
"Who's Davy?" Andrius asked while looking down at the food she dropped.
Bernadette paused for a moment, "What do you mean Davy was 'for real'... he was told to not tell anybody else about us…"
Deena rubbed the back of her head as she realized Davy's error, "Uh... I was just kidding, that's all!"
"...Right, oh well, that's unimportant as of now," Bernadette continued, "You're stuck in a trance, you have to destroy what you desire to escape it!"
"Wait… right! The prison! Where am I?" Deena looked around at the world, "Yesterday I was at Hope's Lament, and me and Davy had our small practice fight before getting ready for the finale!"
"This is Abigor and Salem's doing… speaking of Abigor, he's currently in your mind as we speak, the only thing keeping you 'conscious' right now is that you're stuck under this trance, so please, I need you to trust me, even though you don't know who I am…" Bernadette told Deena who was still looking around.
Andrius grabbed Deena by the arm, "Deena, are you alright? You look worried about something-"
"No!" Deena pulled her arm away, "We shouldn't be dating, we broke up because you could do so much better than someone like me, remember?" Deena told Andrius while shaking, "I moved on from this long ago… why is this what I want!?" Deena grabbed her head as Andrius still tried to calm her down.
"Deena! What are you talking about!?" Andrius asked as Deena teared up a bit.
"Sorry Andrius…" Deena suddenly hugged her ex before pulling back, "But we both know you deserve someone better than me." Deena suddenly punched Andrius in the face and watched as he turned into dust, but as she did that, she too started to disappear due to Abigor's control now that her trance was gone, "I accept whatever deal you have." Deena looked down at the ground as Bernadette quickly rescued her from Abigor's control and let her 'absorb' his power. Deena began to glow blue as she clenched her fist in anticipation, "Let's finish those two…"
Deena's woke up to see Simeon had been thrown away by Salem and that the demon was about to impale her with one of the magic spears he tried using against Davy, "Ah!" Deena threw herself off her bed and got ready to fight as Simeon let out a small laugh of joy that Deena was fine.
Deena cracked her knuckles and dodged another spear from Salem before leaping towards him and trying to punch him in the face, only for Salem's body to rip itself in half to dodge Deena's hit before forming back together once she passed by. "So close." Salem mocked before changing the gravity to be so light she started floating, "Oh well, you tried." Salem snapped his fingers as a bunch of spears surrounded Deena.
"Move backward!" Bernadette's voice echoed through Deena's head as instructions, the delinquent listened to the suggestion and managed to just barely dodge a death by impalement, "He's trying to scare you from getting close! Do you know why? You can temporarily harm him with your power!" Bernadette told Deena, who grinned as she realized biting into Salem would work.
"I'll find wherever Davy is!" Simeon called out before rushing out of the room as Deena floated through the air, dodging a hawk with blades for wings that Salem sent her way. The moment Deena got close to Salem, however, Salem increased the gravity hundred-fold, causing her to slam into the floor.
Surprisingly for Deena, the power-up she got from Bernadette allowed her to survive the extreme gravity with no issue. Deena grinned and ran towards Salem, "Got you." Salem tried to back up as Deena bit his hand off and spit it on the floor, "Eugh, I'll never get used to that."
"Oh…" Salem formed a grin, "You idiot!" Salem turned his blood into a giant blade. The demon ran towards Deena and slashed at her, giving her a good cut across her shoulder before trying to finish her off with a stab to the gut.
Deena rolled to the left to dodge the hit as Salem got his blade stuck in the wall. The delinquent immediately followed up her dodge by punching and biting at Salem in order to do as much damage as possible while she could. While Deena was laying her assault out on Salem, she suddenly felt something pulling her backward, Deena looked back to see three black holes floating behind her that were sucking her in, "What!?" Deena let out as Salem freed himself from the wall.
"Deena! Dodge!" Bernadette yelled as Salem charged forward with his blade, while Deena managed to jump out of the way on Bernadette's command.
While Deena was safe from Salem's attack, she was still slowly being pulled into the three black holes in front of her, and who knows what would happen if she ended up inside one of them? Deena looked over to see where they came from to see Edwards leaning against the wall and grinning at her.
Edwards clapped his hands as the black holes fizzled out and Salem immediately went to attack Deena again, "How unfortunate Miss Loveberry, Davy is nowhere to be seen and you're stuck fighting Salem while having to fend off someone else's power, whatever will you do?" Edwards taunted before throwing out another black hole and walking forward, the host was completely unaffected by his own power and was free to walk around, allowing him to be more accurate with where his black holes would go, albeit with the downside that the gravity of the room had to return to normal.
"What did you do to Davy!?" Deena yelled as she grabbed Salem by the arm and slammed her fist into his face before biting his blade hand off. Deena took the blade and used it to defend herself from Salem trying to hit her while Edwards just laughed.
Salem grinned as he caught the blade and tossed it away, "I simply sent him to some other world and left him alone with a monster, I wonder how long he'll last?" Salem chuckled as Deena again dodged a spear before hitting her demonic foe again…
"Shit shit shit shit shit!" Davy ran through Hope's Lament's main hallway and ran out the entrance as the giant centipede beast tried to grab him. The rocker turned around and shot fireballs at the monster to keep it at bay while looking for a way to scale the walls of Hope's Lament. "Any suggestions, angel dude?" Davy asked while the centipede tried to slam itself into him.
Silas thought for a moment, "Try using those explosives of yours to send yourself flying like you did when you were under that love trance with George!"
Davy nodded while prepping two explosive shots, managing to dodge another hit from the centipede while doing so. The rocker dropped the two explosives on the ground and flipped the centipede off as he was launched high up into the air, Davy then grabbed onto the ledge of the wall and pulled himself off, not even being bothered by the barbed wire on it.
"See ya, you bloody wanker!" Davy kept his fingers up as he leaped off the roof and free-fell into the water, managing to survive in one piece thanks to Silas' power. The centipede didn't give up easily though, and broke through the wall while still keeping up its chase against Davy.
"Davis! You gotta use the explosives again to launch yourself far! That beast will kill you if you don't!" Silas yelled as Davy gained a cocky look on his face.
"You wanna bet?" Davy made one explosive as the centipede tried to bite down on him, only for Davy to dodge. After dodging the attack, Davy dropped the explosive and sent himself flying up before landing on the centipede's back, "Alright then, let's finish this fucker off!" Davy climbed up the centipede's back as it tried to shake him off, only managing to send water from the surrounding river flying.
Davy made it up to the top of the centipede and jumped off its head before turning around and blasting a shot of white-hot flames that was so powerful, it tore its way through the centipede's head, leaving a giant hole in the spot where Davy shot it. The centipede's lifeless body collapsed to the ground as Davy charged up another two explosives to send himself far. The rocker grinned as he reached the ground before he launched himself far away from the island with his explosives. "Check and mate." Davy kept his arms behind his head as he suddenly saw the world revert to normal.
"Good job Davis!" Silas cheered for Davy as he landed in the water, "Now all we gotta do is swim back to shore to go help Deena!" Davy chuckled as he swam forward to the island, while Simeon phased through the wall to see if he somehow ended up outside the prison.
Davy noticed the angel on the island and waved to him, "Hey! Angel dude number two, Davy is over here!" Davy called out but couldn't be heard by Simeon, "Hmm, Davy should probably send himself flying back to shore." Davy laughed as he tried to charge an explosive, only for nothing to happen as he was outside Hope's Lament's range, "What the? Why can't Davy use his fire?"
"About that Davis, when I told you to move two miles away, that was because that was the island's range for powers like your fire, you just need to swim back a bit before you can return to using it."
Davy groaned as he began to swim back into Hope's Lament's radius, "Alright alright, Davy will get to it…"
While Davy was making his way back to the island, Deena was still fighting off Salem while having to deal with Edwards' black holes, of course, Edwards made sure to keep his distance from the fighting so Deena couldn't try to grab him or anything like that. "Any ideas on how to keep this guy down, Bernadette?" Deena asked while hitting Salem in the guy while he slammed his fist on the back of her head, the demon was slowly managing to overpower Deena due to her getting more and more tired from having to constantly dodge with no results.
"It's gonna be hard with just one person, much more with Edwards hitting you off course, but if you can damage Salem's heart after Simeon gets back he can banish the demon back to where he came!" Bernadette told Deena, "There's also killing Edwards, which could banish Salem as well, due to him being linked to that body, but do keep in mind that he's being used by Abigor too and he's an innocent man."
Deena grinned as she covered her ears from Salem's high pitch scream, "I got an idea…" Deena ran over to Edwards and tackled him to the floor before keeping opening her mouth, "Alright Salem, you're linked to this guy huh? So how about I just kill him right here?" Deena kept Edwards pressed to the floor and covered his mouth when he tried to say anything in response.
"Go ahead…" Salem prepared a spear on the wall so he could impale Deena through the head.
"Deena, duck!" Bernadette shouted, causing Deena to immediately duck her head down to avoid getting stabbed by the spear.
Deena looked up at the spear and groaned, "Here I thought threatening to kill him would do the trick-" Deena was cut off by Edwards shooting a black hole directly in front of her, "Shit!" Deena tried to back up as much as she could as Salem flew forward and punched her in the face with a now regenerated hand.
"We both know you don't have it in you to kill somebody." Edwards pulled himself off the floor and coughed up more of the black liquid before wiping his face off, "Now, Salem, kill her."
"Ok, Deena, you need to focus on the left side of Salem's body," Bernadette explained, "He's burned himself from our armor on that side more than he has on his right, so it's not as defensive. Get a few good bites in and try separating his limbs."
Deena noticed the blood blade nearby, "Or maybe I should…" Deena leapt over to the blade and picked it up to use as a weapon, "Let's go Salem!" Salem just kept his cocky face up while Deena kept him at a slight distance with the weapon.
Deena immediately aimed for Salem's left side like Bernadette told her to, and noticed that he was slightly slower with blocking hits aimed there than he was whenever she tried hitting him on the right side. Of course, having that slight bit of knowledge didn't put Deena in complete safety yet, seeing as she still had to deal with Edwards throwing black holes everywhere, as well as Salem still being faster than her.
"Hm." Salem summoned a giant wolf and ordered it to attack Deena, who wasted no time cutting the wolf to bits with the blade, "Got you…" Salem lightly cackled as he rushed forward and punched Deena in the gut, immediately sending her to the floor.
"Agh…" Deena clenched her stomach and dropped her blade as Salem revealed his claws and tried to slash her across the neck. Luckily for Deena, she thought quickly and used her power to bite the edge of Salem's hand off, albeit getting cut across her face in the process. Deena picked the blade up and stabbed Salem through the stomach before pushing him into the wall and keeping him stuck. Now that Salem was trapped in place, Deena made sure to bite both of his arms off so he couldn't fight back and was about to bite off his head as Edwards summoned another three black holes behind her, "No, no, no!" Deena tried to pull herself forward as Edwards threw more black holes, but this time had them go in front of her so she was constantly being pulled forward and backward at once.
Salem grinned as he pulled himself from the wall and prepared to summon a spear from directly underneath Deena, knowing full well that she had no way of dodging the spear and no way of using her powers to escape.
"Deena! Try to dodge the spear! It's our only shot!" Bernadette yelled out of fear for Deena's life as the girl struggled with the black holes pulling on her. She tried everything in her power to move just a bit, but it was hopeless, she knew there wasn't anything left for her to do and she closed her eyes as she saw the tip of the spear poking out from underneath her…

…Luckily for Deena, somebody else came in the room and threw their explosive power at her, sending her flying away from the black holes and the spear and allowing her to narrowly dodge the hit.
"What!?" Both Edwards and Salem shouted as Davy revealed himself with Simeon in tow. Salem's eyes widened at the sight of Davy, "N-no, you shouldn't be here! I trapped you in a different world!" Salem yelled as Davy just walked forward.
Davy cracked his knuckles while getting a serious look for once, "Looks like you're gonna spend the rest of your time here wondering how I got out because the only words I have to say to you right now are 'I'm gonna kick your ass'."
Deena grinned before getting up and punching Salem in the back of the head while Davy rushed Edwards and punched him away as well. Davy turned his attention back to Salem and helped Deena keep him injured as Edwards pulled himself up.
"Not yet Armadeus…" Edwards threw a black hole that pulled Davy away, leaving Deena alone to fight with Salem.
Salem waited for his arms to heal as he grabbed Deena and flew through the prison's ceilings, taking her high into the sky.
"Deena!" Simeon flew up threw the hole and followed her and Salem.
"No!" Davy yelled out as Edwards threw more black holes at him to keep his distance. Davy just snarled as he used his explosives to send himself away from the host's powers, "You're in the wrong league Edwards, you stand no chance against me!" Davy dodged a black hole and rushed Edwards before punching him in the face, something that sent the host straight to the floor with a bloodied nose.
"That should keep him down for now, go help Deena!" Silas told Davy, who wasted no time running over to the part of the ceiling Salem flew through, only for Edwards to weakly pull himself up before throwing another black hole.
Davy felt himself being pulled back as Edwards grinned before throwing more black holes to prevent him from moving. Davy tried to charge an explosive only for the breath of fire to get pulled into the black holes as well, "Crap!" Davy kept trying to fight the force pulling on him before charging an explosive super close to his face, which allowed him to use the power without it being pulled away. Davy threw the explosive to the ground as hard as he could, which blasted him away from the black holes. After Davy made his escape the black holes fizzled out and the rocker noticed that his fire breath from earlier was still intact as it too fell to the ground and fizzled out.
"Just go after Salem and Deena, Edwards knows that if you two work together against him you win effortlessly!" Silas ordered Davy, who instead turned around to face the host, "Davy!? What are you doing?!"
Davy held his arms out and gave a confident grin, "Come and get me." Davy taunted Edwards before running straight toward him. The host decided to run off to the cafeteria to get a much more open space while Davy slowly caught up with him. The rocker prepared to shoot a blast at his opponent but decided to stick with the angels' request of not killing him, causing Davy to opt to sweep Edwards by the legs again, "Nowhere to run now." Davy stepped on Edwards' hand when he tried to shoot another black hole at him.
Edwards simply laughed at Davy as he freed his hand and shot another black hole, "Oh please, Armadeus, I know full well you don't have it in you to kill me, just like how Loverberry doesn't have it in her either." A loud crash from the main cellblock echoed through the prison halls, one that sounded like Salem crashing back through the ceiling, "Oh, it sounds like Salem's finally finishing her off n-" Edwards was cut off by Davy running forward and punching him to the floor again. The rocker didn't even bother giving him any mind before he ran past him, knowing he had to help Deena before it was too late.
"I'm afraid you can't leave yet Armadeus!" Edwards shot a black hole to keep Davy in place before repeatedly shooting them so he could pull Davy towards him, "It's very rude to interrupt Salem when he's having his fun." Edwards grinned as Davy tried to fight back.
"Son of a… take this you wanker!" Davy charged another explosive and threw it straight at Edwards, only for it to get sucked into the black hole before it could hit Edwards.
Edwards laughed again, "Poor Armadeus…" Edwards tossed another black hole to keep Davy stuck in place, "You're trying so hard to save your friend… but we both know that won't happen…" Edwards cackled as he slowly walked towards Davy and tossed more and more attacks out at him. Edwards stopped as Davy desperately tried to not get sucked in, "Feel free to make your final statements Armadeus, as it all ends here."
Davy grinned before turning around to face Edwards, "You lose." Davy kept his grin as one of Edwards' black holes finally stopped, only to reveal the explosive Davy threw earlier was still active, Edwards had about one second to react as the blast sent both him and Davy away. Davy got up as he saw Edwards get tossed into the wall, causing the host to be knocked out. Davy didn't even bother gloating about his victory over the knocked-out host as he immediately pulled himself off the ground and rushed over to go find Deena, "Do you think she's alright… uh…"
"Silas, and I hope so…" Silas spoke with a worried tone as they left Edward's unconscious body in the cafeteria.
Salem kept Deena caught in his grip before giving her a toothy grin when they were high in the air, "Goodbye Deena." Salem tried to let go of Deena only for her to grab onto his leg, "Eugh, pest." Salem tried shaking Deena off of his leg, only for her to sink her teeth into him, "Agh!" Salem then tried punching Deena, but Simeon quickly got in the way of the hit and took it for her.
"Simeon!" Bernadette called out as Salem tried hitting Deena again, "Deena, um… hit him where you know it will hurt."
Deena grinned as she caught Salem's punch and landed her own directly at Salem's crotch. The demon winced in pain as Deena kept her grip on him, causing his leg to become horribly burned from Bernadette's power.
"Let… go!" Salem began to punch Deena over and over, but she refused to let up, she was dead set on not letting go of him.
"Give it up Salem!" Simeon called up as Salem tried flinging Deena away, "You cannot win this battle!"
Salem scowled as he held his arm up, "Oh… I most certainly can…" Salem began to form a giant ball of hellfire in his hands, "This is what I get for wanting to have fun with my food, but there's no more games now, go burn in hell!" Salem's ball of fire grew larger and larger, and as an added effect, it made the sky turn dark with it being a giant visible light.
Deena tried to hit Salem but his constant movement made it impossible for her to do anything to attack him, "What do we do Bernadette?" Deena groaned as Salem kept kicking her to get her off of his leg…
Lyre had just finished uploading the video to the agency when he noticed the sky turn dark, "The hell?" Lyre looked up to see the giant ball of light emitting from Salem, "What the!?" Lyre got up and immediately took the drone out to see what the cause of it was, "Don't tell me it's the demon…" Lyre mumbled to himself as he did everything he could to get the drone over there as fast as possible.
While Lyre was flying the drone towards him and his fireball, Salem still tried to kick Deena off of him as his fireball only grew larger and larger in size, "You know Deena, this may banish me back to hell after Edwards dies, but at least I'll be in glee knowing for a fact that I'll get to torture you after you die."
"I need to stop everything so Deena can get a chance…" Simeon flew upwards to Deena and Salem.
"What the hell?" Lyre mumbled as he looked at the sight through his drone, his drone was currently behind Salem so he couldn't see Deena hanging on for dear life, but he got a very good view of the demon.
Salem then managed to kick Deena off of him before he grabbed her and tossed her even higher into the air. The demon then moved to where she was falling so he could catch her with his fireball, "See you in hell, Deena." Salem laughed, but his joy was short-lived as he felt something crash into the back of his head. The very drone that Lyre was flying went straight into him. While the drone didn't hurt Salem at all, the distraction was enough for Salem to lose control of the fireball, which caused it to fizzle out due to not being fully charged yet. Salem looked behind him to see the now-broken drone crashing to the ground, the demon had only a second to take in what happened as Deena immediately took advantage.
"Grab him now!" Bernadette shouted as Deena fell on top of Salem, before the demon could do anything to react, Deena sunk her teeth straight into his neck and gripped his arms tightly as the two now fell straight down to the prison's roof.
"Good job Deena!" Simeon shouted as the two crashed through the roof and into the cellblock where they were earlier…
"Holy shit what did I just do?" Lyre gripped his head as he realized he just crashed a drone directly into Salem, "And was that one of the prisoners that he threw into the air? Oh god… one of them's…dead…" Lyre incorrectly assumed Deena died. Lyre then took a deep breath before taking his phone out, "Well if I'm a dead man now… I'm gonna at least try to rescue the other before the bomb drops." Lyre called the agency and wasted no time speaking, "It's Lyre, I need you to get me a boat ride to Hope's Lament and do it as fast as you can!" Lyre barely even explained the situation, only choosing to ask for a boat. The detective took one deep breath as he hung up the phone and waited for his ride to arrive…
Deena coughed as she and Salem crashed through the roof of the prison. Bernadette's power protected her well from the fall, in addition to Salem taking the bluntest part of it. Deena pulled herself up as Simeon flew down through the hole in the ceiling, "Excellent work Deena, now let's go find the saying in the book so we can rid ourselves of Salem once and for all!" Simeon cheered as Deena got up and looked at Salem, the demon could hardly move due to the huge hole in his neck, and even if he could, his leg was so badly burnt that it was gonna be a short while until he'd be able to pull himself up off the ground, all the demon could do for now was glare directly at Deena with a look that could strike fear into the bravest of people.
"We'd better hurry before he gets up." Deena grabbed her arm and looked on the ground at the torn-up bits of the book the angels needed Deena to use, "Don't you guys know the saying off the top of your head?" Deena asked as she tried to make sense of the scraps of paper she was looking at.
"It isn't easy to memorize a book of rituals word for word Deena." Bernadette deadpanned as Deena found a few shreds of paper, "There it is! Just say the words, 'I banish thee back to where he came' five times in a row while holding his heart and Salem will be banished to hell and will have to face our lord's judgment from then on!"
Deena looked over at the blade on the ground and picked it up before using it to cut Salem's heart out of his body. While Deena was preparing to get rid of Salem, Simeon floated over the demon and began to glow, "Alright, Deena, finish this!"
"I banish thee back to where he came!" Deena chanted as Salem desperately tried to regenerate the bit of his neck he lost.
"I banish thee back to where he came!" Deena repeated as Salem then tried summoning a spear to stab her from behind, but due to his weakened state it didn't go far enough to impale her.
"I banish thee back to where he came!" Deena stated for the third time as Salem started to pant as he realized he wasn't winning this.
"I banish thee back to where he came!" Salem managed to lift his head up ever so slightly as he glared into Deena's eyes.
"Go ahead Deena… but I can't die…" Salem let out a laugh with a very hoarse voice, "Eventually, someone will summon me again, and I'll make my return… Mark. My. Words." Salem threatened as Simeon glowed brightly.
Simeon's glow bathed the entire room in purple light, "You had a chance to surrender demon, you should've taken it!"
"I banish thee back to where he came!" Deena finished, which caused a bright light to cover everything in the room, and when the light faded out, Salem was nowhere to be seen. Deena fell to the ground as she noticed the heart was gone from her hand as well, "Is it over? Is he gone now?"
"Yes!" Simeon cheered and laughed as Davy ran into the cellblock.
Davy noticed Deena on the ground and immediately rushed over to her, "Deena!" Davy ran forward and hugged Deena, happy to see she was ok, "Did you get rid of Salem?"
"Yes! We did it! Salem's gone now!" Deena laughed as she returned the hug to Davy. The two looked at each other in the joy of the moment and quickly kissed each other, not even caring about anything else that was going on, all they cared about was that the other was ok.
Simeon lightly laughed at the two's love for each other, "I gotta say, even the toughest humans can be so cute sometimes."
Davy pulled himself back and grinned, "Goddamn, I don't think I've ever been so glad to see someone."
Deena fixed her hair and sat back, "Almost makes being in this hell hole worth it."
"Right, well," Simeon coughed a bit to get their attention, "As amazing as it is to be done with Salem, we still have Abigor to deal with." Simeon made everything around the two stop, "To avoid any interference during our planning, I can 'stop time' for us for a bit, but you'll be unable to interact with anything in the real world, so you'll have to use this chance to make a plan of attack."
"Woah wait, you can stop time?" Davy questioned.
Simeon chuckled lightly, "It's a bit of an overstatement, we did the same thing for Picollo once before, but it's not very effective of a tool, outside of being able to dodge attacks if needed. Even then, it takes a lot of power to do and Silas and Bernadette can't do it while powering you."
"Well, I think Davy and I should go find wherever the prize money is kept and we should grab it first, we're gonna need some form of insurance if we wanna get by when we're on the run." Deena pointed out, "But… this Abigor guy, how do we kill him?"
"He's currently in the body of Eadberht Beckwith, who has the power of complete invulnerability, so your best shot is to bring him two miles away from the prison where your abilities are no longer active," Simeon suggested.
Davy tilted his head, "But how are we gonna get him out of here?"
Simeon thought for a moment, "The interns when they were here used a boat to get to and from the island, the boat is located in the storage room near the kitchen, it's also what Picollo used to escape."
Deena snapped her fingers and grinned, "So we force Abigor onto the boat and drive it until his power disappears, and then we kill him then!"
"There isn't even a need to do the killing yourself, Abigor will be forced out of the body and he'll die immediately due to his original body being deceased." Simeon revealed to the two, "As an added suggestion, I say you should read the journal of his lover Gael, maybe you can attempt to reason with him to make him surrender to his fate?"
"Also you mentioned he's in the body of someone else? Is that what his power is?" Deena asked, not fully aware of who Abigor is like Davy was.
Simeon floated around the two, "Yes, he can go into other people's bodies via their minds, but there's no need to worry about that, I'm sure Bernadette and Silas are protecting your minds from any attacks from Abigor, all you need to do is survive and drag him onto the boat."
Davy cracked his knuckles, "Then let's do this! Deena can read the journal entries while Davy grabs the prize money and anything else we'll need before we go fight that fucker." Davy already returned to his normal way of speaking in the third person.
"Alright then," Simeon stopped 'stopping time' and began to fade, "While you guys are doing this, I'll return to heaven to help our lord with dealing with Salem… I have to be sure he's punished for his involvement with mortals. I wish you every luck and fortune for your final battle, goodbye." Simeon disappeared from sight while Davy and Deena both looked at each other and grinned, they were in the endgame now, and all they had to do was deal with Abigor and they'd be home free…
"Alright, where did they put the money?" Davy walked out of the cellblock and looked around, "Also, you're sure Davy won't get ambushed by this Abigor guy while he's away from Deena?"
"Positive, Abigor definitely prefers to stay safe in his room in the basement and is most likely trying to use some sort of mental attack on you right now, though, it won't work, as we've stated before.:
Davy stopped for a moment and ran over to the cafeteria before kicking open the door to see Edwards still unconscious on the floor, "Ok, Davy needed to be sure he's still out… Anyways, the money, where can Davy find it?"
"Salem's office upstairs, since that's somewhere none of you go and Salem would be able to protect it from anyone trying to steal it," Silas told Davy, who immediately rushed upstairs to go find the money. Davy kicked the door open and looked around the very organized room. The rocker went through drawers before finding the small briefcase Chris showed them back in the very first challenge. "Please… please… please…" Davy forced the briefcase open to see it was indeed a check with one hundred million written on it, and multiple approval signatures from producers of the 'show' he was on, "A check's gonna be hell to cash, but Davy can make this work…" Davy close the briefcase and took it before searching through the room more.
Davy looked around to see multiple drawers with each of the contestant's names on them, Davy looked over at his drawer and opened it to see his regular clothes stuffed in there, along with some confiscated items taken from him, "Oh hell yeah!" Davy took the jacket out from the drawer, "Davy missed having normal clothes!" Davy quickly grabbed his clothes and put them under his arm before opening Deena's drawer to see her regular jumpsuit there, "Hmm… probably a bad idea to give her something that makes her look like a prisoner… Wasn't Quinn like the same height as Deena or something?" Davy opened Quinn's drawer and took her clothes instead to help disguise Deena, "This should do."
"Very… interesting design," Silas commented on Quinn's partially ripped shirt while Davy just laughed.
"Meh, Deena's a tough chick so she can rock the ripped sleeves," Davy looked through the other drawers to see if anything else of interest was hidden inside any of them, only to find nothing of use, "Alright, let's go back to Deena and finish Abigor off!"
"Now where did Davy hide this journal, exactly?" Deena looked around Davy's cell and looked at the ceiling, "Maybe…" Deena pushed up on the stone ceiling and managed to move a tile away, "Yeah, figured that would work…" Deena looked through the tile to see nothing there.
Bernadette gave a light chuckle, "He has it hidden in the gym's walls, the book of rituals was what he hid in the ceiling."
"Could've told me that before I moved the ceiling." Deena deadpanned as she snuck over to the gym and went inside. The delinquent then went to each of the walls in an attempt to see where the hidden journal was placed, before she eventually found it hidden by an old stone on the east wall of the gym, "Got it!" Deena pulled the journal out and immediately flipped through the pages to see what she could find about Abigor.
"Looks like this guy barely mentions Abigor in here," Deena flipped through the pages and spotted one that mentioned Abigor, "It does describe him as a dear friend on here, but it looks like he was interested in keeping his relationship a secret."
Bernadette sighed, "It would make sense due to the timeframe of the journal… what about Gael's ideals? Abigor wants to sow destruction throughout the world, but Gael wanted to make things better for others, can you find anything specific in there?"
Deena flipped through more pages and stopped at one, "He wanted to remove the 'barrier' keeping powers in here? I know this guy probably wanted to bring on some gold age or whatever, but that sounds like a horrible idea. But… this journal gives me an idea… did Abigor ever find it?"
"No, it never moved from its original hiding spot, and luckily, it just so happened to be one of the few objects we could interact with when not being summoned by humans, so Abigor does not know of it being here," Bernadette answered.
Deena grinned and stretched her arms out, "Ok… then my idea can work out perfectly. Let's go meet up with Davy, it's time to finish this guy off!" Deena shoved the journal in her pocket and opened the door to the gym before walking out, "But first, what should we do with this holy book of yours?"
"Destroy it." Bernadette replied, "We cannot risk anyone finding either of the books and causing any more chaos, so get rid of it to be safe."
"Don't you need that for your rituals or whatever?" Deena asked as she ran into the cellblock and picked up the shreds of the book.
"We have more in our world, so we won't have any setbacks from losing this one," Bernadette answered as Deena used her powers to swallow the pieces of the book.
Deena gagged as Davy got back into the room, "Alright, that journal gave me an idea, we're gonna-" Deena was cut off by Davy throwing Quinn's clothes at her.
"Pack that up in a bundle or whatever, that's gonna help us blend in when we get back to town!" Davy grinned as Deena took the clothes and looked at them, they weren't her style but she knew it was better than walking around looking like a prisoner. "Alright, looks like it's time to kill Abigor, just tell us where he is!"
"He's hiding out in a room in the basement, it's unlabeled and you guys haven't been allowed in there this whole time. He knows you're going to bring a fight to him so he may be ready for your arrival." Both Silas and Bernadette explained to their respective hosts, "Now before we do this… if either of you feel like you cannot win against him… give up and leave with your lives, me and Bernadette are fine with waiting longer to put an end to Abigor if it means keeping you two safe."
"Are you kidding?" Davy rolled up his sleeve as he finished grabbing everything they needed, "We've come this far, there's no giving up now!"
"Alright…" Silas softly spoke as Deena and Davy got ready for the final fight they'd have to do. Everything was coming to an end here, all it came down to was who would win between Abigor and the duo of Deena and Davy…
"Five minutes." Truthteller looked at a timer while in a room of detectives, notes with scribbles about Hope's Lament were scattered all over the desk and everyone seemed to be pretty grim, "Ladies and Gentlemen, here we are… the final stand against whoever's at the prison. We can only hope for the theory of the demon being bound to the jail to be true."
Ryo himself seemed to also be present at the meeting, and he looked much more tired than usual like he spent all night trying to figure out how to rescue Deena from the prison, "Let's just get…" Suddenly the phone in the office began to ring and Ryo answered it, "Hello? What!? Why would he do that!?" Ryo yelled through the phone. The detective talked to the other person on the phone for a little bit longer before hanging up.
"What is it?" Truthteller asked as the clock was now at four minutes.
"Lyre's trying to go to the prison, he just ordered a boat to be sent there…" Ryo bleakly stated, causing everyone in the room to stop in silence.
"Oh… shit." Truthteller's eyes widened for once as they all knew there was no going back from the bombing now, all they could do was sit back and watch as Lyre got involved with Hope's Lament…
The two prisoners stood outside Abigor's basement room, ready to face him head-on. The plan to get Abigor in the boat was now about to be in motion, and everything they needed was set up in the storage room, "Here it is Davis, Abigor's room." Silas told Davy as he and Deena stood outside the room, "Do plug your nose before entering though… the odor is quite horrid."
"Alright, let's do this!" Davy cracked his knuckles as he and Deena got ready for one last fight.
Deena suddenly gave Davy a peck on the cheek before they entered. No words were said about it, but Davy knew well that it was done just in case they failed, "Here we go…" Deena took a deep breath to prepare herself as the two kicked down the door to Abigor's room.
The room was very dark but neither prisoner liked what they saw inside. The walls of the room had skeletons of Abigor's cult attached to the wall while Abigor himself stood in the middle of the room with a grin on his face, behind him was the tumor-like growth that held his demonic book.
"He… looks a lot worse than I was expecting…" Deena looked around the room as Abigor laughed at the duo.
"Loveberry and Armadeus, I must say… I'm impressed with how you've made it this far… and how you survived Salem and evaded my power… but your lives end here…" Abigor unsheathed his rusted blade and pointed it at the two, "Everyone I failed long ago is watching over me… and I refuse to let their deaths be in vain…"
Davy stepped forward, "And what about Gael, huh? Davy knows for a fact he didn't want you to do this crazy shit!"
Abigor laughed as he slowly approached the two, "Oh… Gael? I know he doesn't want this… but I do…"
"Negotiating isn't working, we're gonna have to kill him!" Silas told Davy who got ready to fight.
"So you don't really care about Gael, huh?" Deena grinned as she pulled out Gael's journal, causing Abigor to drop his smile at the sight of it, "Yeah, you recognize this journal, don't you? Well, if you don't care about Gael that much then I guess this won't bother you that much!" Deena ripped Gael's journal in half in front of Abigor, who took a deep breath before staring blankly at her.
"Your screams will be fun to listen to." Abigor regained his grin as Davy ran forward and punched him straight in the face… only for Davy to pull his arm back in pain.
Davy clutched his arm, "Agh! It's like punching a brick-" Davy was cut off by Abigor kneeing him in the stomach, which immediately sent him to the floor.
"Shit!" Deena rushed forward and pulled Davy away from another hit as Abigor rubbed his fist, "Alright, the invincibility wasn't a joke…"
"You need to subdue him!" Silas instructed Deena while Davy got up.
"Yeah... Davy can tell." Davy rubbed his arm as Abigor ran over to the two of them, the cult leader elbowed Deena in the face and stomped on Davy's back before shutting the door to the room to gain the advantage of the darkness. Abigor slowly approached Davy, who responded by shooting white-hot flames at him to keep him away, and while they didn't damage Abigor at all, he did slowly get pushed back from the force of the fire.
While Davy was holding Abigor off, Deena wasted no time immediately running over to the demonic book and eating it so Abigor couldn't summon Salem again, assuming he were to win this battle. Deena ran up behind Abigor and managed to snatch his knife away before trying to grab him so she could hold him down.
"Your efforts are in vain!" Abigor poked Deena in the eyes while Davy threw a mini explosive to send him flying away. Again, no damage was done to the man, but he was sent into the wall by the force of the explosive. Davy and Deena both ran over to Abigor to try and subdue him but were both met with hits to the face and gut before Abigor managed to punch Davy straight through the wall into the room.
"Dav-" Abigor headbutted Deena to cut her off and threw her at her new lover before standing over them. While Abigor walked towards the fallen pair, a loud noise was coming from above, not that anyone in the room focused on it, they were all too caught up in fighting to listen.
Abigor planted his foot on Davy's neck and grinned as he put more and more force on the rocker, "Goodbye Armadeus…"
"Davy…" Deena crawled forward to help Davy when all three of them heard something hit the top of the building, and before anyone could react they were cut off by a large explosion blowing off the roof of the prison.
Abigor looked up at the sudden sound, which gave Davy enough time to shoot him away with his fire breath, but Davy's victory was short-lived as more and more bombs started hitting the prison, slowly causing the building to collapse.
"What's happening!?" Davy got up and looked over to Deena, but before they could help each other up, a bomb was fired straight to the floor above them, causing the prison to finally collapse and for the basement to be caught in an explosion as well…
The detectives sat in silence as the military plane they called on finally finished destroying the prison, "Looks like it's a waiting game now." Truthteller took off his overcoat and looked out the window while waiting to see if Salem would attack them.
"Oh god… Lyre might've been in there…" Ryo covered his mouth as the room stayed silent.
Truthteller kept waiting for Salem to show up, "Well… we'll see if this was the right decision or not."
The phone to the office rang and Ryo picked up the phone to hear none other than Lyre on the other end, "I was too late!" Lyre told the agency as he was still waiting for his boat to arrive, "I tried to get a boat there in time to save the two but it couldn't get there in time!"
"Jesus, you're ok!?" Ryo sounded somewhat relieved as he cleared his throat, "You need to get back here immediately! It's too dangerous over there!"
"No, I've already angered the demon there by hitting him with a drone… I'm going over there to see if by chance Davis and Deenna survived!" Lyre hung up the phone before Ryo could say anything.
Ryo sat back in his chair while thinking about Deena's fate in the prison, "Please find her Lyre… please tell me she survived…"
Deena groaned and opened her eyes to see both she and Davy were stuck under a pile of debris in what used to be the basement of Hope's Lament, "Shit… Bernadette what happened?"
"I… I don't know…" Bernadette replied as Deena managed to find a small hole in the debris that she was able to see through, looking through the hole revealed Abigor moving debris out of the way in order to find where Davy and Deena were.
"D-Davy…" Deena lightly shook Davy awake and covered his mouth before he could say anything, the delinquent managed to point at where Abigor was currently searching before turning herself around to dig her way out of debris without being spotted, "Follow me…" Deena whispered to Davy.
"Deena? What happened?" Davy asked as Deena started biting her way to freedom. After a short while of using her power, Deena managed to find a small space she and Davy could crawl out of. The two crawled out and saw the mostly destroyed prison's ruins. More than half the building was gone now, with some of the cafeteria still managing to stay up. Speaking of the cafeteria, Edwards didn't get to be as lucky like Davy and Deena did and was crushed under a large piece of the ceiling. The two took a moment to see the destruction as heavy rain began to pour into the destroyed prison.
"I don't know." Deena helped Davy get up to the main floor, or whatever was left of it before pointing over to the kitchen, "Looks like it's mostly intact, hopefully, the storage room is fine." Deena and Davy snuck over to the storage room, but not before Deena purposefully made a noise loud enough for Abigor to hear, in order to make it look like they were trying to run away from him. The two made their way into the storage room and found it was still mostly intact, and what they set up to escape with was still in their boat. Deena grabbed the keys to the boat off a nearby key rack before the two got ready for their plan to go into its final phase.
Davy lightly chuckled, "Well, looks like we managed to get lucky… fuck… after this all ends I'm never committing a serious crime again, ain't no way in hell I wanna go through this shit again."
"Agreed." Deena nodded before turning to Davy, "Got any idea of where we're gonna run off to?"
"My bandmates should be able to help us hide out and lay low until nobody really cares about finding us again." Davy answered as Abigor slowly snuck up on the two, "Unless you've got a better idea."
Deena looked down at the boat, "Maybe we-" Deena was cut off by Abigor punching her in the back of the head before he punched Davy as well, the two fell into the boat as Abigor towered over them.
"Did you think you could run away from me?" Abigor prepared to attack as Deena got up and rushed towards the boat's controls.
The delinquent immediately started the boat and drove it straight through the shutter that was blocking it off from the outside world, "No, we thought we could outsmart you!"
Abigor immediately tried to turn around as Davy got up and leapt forward to tackle him to the floor, the Rocker refused to let go as Abigor hit him over and over in the face. "Pest." Abigor kicked Davy off of him as Deena also managed to tackle him to the floor of the boat. "You two think you're the only ones who know how to fight well here?" Abigor headbutted Deena and threw her into the wall of the boat, "I've been observing all of you during your fights," Abigor dodged a punch from both Davy and Deena as he kicked Davy in the gut, "I know how you two think."
Davy thought about using his fire breath to hold Abigor off before realizing he'd most likely destroy the boat by doing so. The rocker tried to grab Abigor, only for his foe to punch him in the face so hard it knocked him over the wall of the boat. Davy gripped the railing as he felt his feet hitting the waters below, he managed to pull himself up right as Abigor knocked Deena back to the floor.
Davy jumped off the railing and stopped Abigor from leaving the boat. "Keep it up, Davis! You're doing great!" Silas cheered for Davy as he tore the top of his jumpsuit off and used it as a makeshift rope to keep Abigor slightly detained.
"Are you alright Deena?" Bernadette asked as Deena nodded to herself and helped keep Abigor down. Davy then went to take control of steering the boat as Deena did everything she could to prevent Abigor from moving off the boat.
Abigor managed to get an arm free from the piece of cloth as the boat rocked upwards from a heavy wave hitting it. Deena tried to wrap Abigor's arm back up but was punched to the ground instead as Abgior managed to free himself.
"Shit! I can't see anything!" Davy commented as the rain got worse and worse, making it impossible to see ahead. It didn't help that the boat was being rocked up and down by the waves either. Davy turned back to help Deena with Abigor as the boat drove forward to who-knows-where. Davy pushed Abigor to the floor and tried to keep him down as Deena got up and helped, but Abigor was able to escape when the boat rocked backward and threw Davy into one of the railings.
"We're almost there, you can do this!" Silas cheered for Davy as he got up and decided to take the risk of shooting a fireblast at Abigor to send him to the floor. "Go take the wheel, I've got him!" Davy yelled to Deena, who immediately listened by taking control of the boat. Davy then got on top of Abigor to keep him down and it seemed to be working, Abigor was stuck and Davy just had to keep him pressed down. "Looks like we got you." Davy moved his head down and taunted Abigor, giving his opponent a chance to headbutt him before forcing him off, "Agh!" Davy was grabbed by the neck by Abigor before being thrown into the boat's railing.
Deena noticed this happening and immediately turned the boat around in order to throw Abigor away from the sudden movement. "Are you alright Davy?" Deena asked as both Davy and Abigor got back up.
"Yeah, I'm fine…" Davy clenched his nose and noticed Abigor trying to jump off the boat, so he immediately ran forward and pulled him back to prevent him from going anywhere, "Nice try." Davy grinned as Abigor stayed silent and punched and kicked at him, each hit Abigor landed hurt a lot, but Davy knew there wasn't much he could do other than try punching Abigor while he held him down.
"God I hope we're gonna be there soon!" Davy struggled with Abigor as the man managed to throw him off of him. Abigor glared at Davy and walked forward to hit him again as Davy knew he'd have to do something to keep him busy. Davy then decided to shoot white-hot flames at Abigor to try and keep him stuck down, with the flames being so hot the rain around them was evaporating before it could hit the ground.
Abigor simply smirked and walked through Davy's fire breath before grabbing him by the throat once he made it to the rocker. "Let's see what happens when I do this." Abigor glared at Davy as he choked him, the cult leader then put his hand over Davy's face to prevent him from exhaling and watched as Davy's explosive power began to charge in his mouth.
"Davis!" Silas yelled in fear as Davy was stuck in place.
"No!" Deena got up from the boat's controls and could only watch as Abigor let go of Davy, causing him to shoot out an explosive that sent Abigor into the back railing of the boat while Davy was sent flying into the water. "Davy!" Deena yelled as she noticed Abigor was about to make it into the waters. Deena rushed forward and subconsciously used her power against Abigor.
Abigor noticed and put his arm out to block Deena from getting to him, but what he didn't keep in mind was the fact that he was an immovable object, and Deena was an unstoppable force, and they would both soon find out what happens when both of them clash…

…The two's powers clashed against each other and instead of either of them overpowering the other, they were both locked in place, unable to move at all. Abigor noticed this and tried to free himself but was unable to move any part of his body as the boat slowly made it to the barrier. Deena managed to give a slight grin as the boat made it two miles away from Hope's Lament's island, after the boat passed the milestone Deena's teeth sunk into the old skin of Eadbhert's body, which cause her to immediately stop biting as she gagged.
"You did it!" Bernadette laughed as Eadberht fell to the ground, there was no Abigor in there anymore, and Eadberht was long dead mentally, but the delinquent didn't want to take any chances, choosing to kick him in the neck hard enough to snap it before she tossed him off the boat, "Now go get-" Bernadette started but was cut off by Deena.
"Davy!" Deena yelled as she turned the boat around to go find Davy, she could see him struggling to stay afloat in the stormy waters. Deena drove the boat over to Davy and reached her hand out to grab him, "Grab my hand quickly!"
"I…" Davy tried to grab Deena's hand, the two were only an inch away from each other as Davy was swept away by the water.
Deena's eyes widened as she tried to chase after him, "No!" Deena turned around to go regain control of the boat, but unfortunately, the boat capsized and she was thrown into the water as well. "Gotta... Make it…" Deena mumbled as she surfaced, but her tiredness from fighting all day as well as all the damage she took led to her getting knocked out when the boat hit her on the head…
Deena opened her eyes and groaned as she looked around to see where she was, she was on the shores of one of the surrounding areas of Hope's Lament, one that seemed to be a hill connected to a nearby park that was fenced off to avoid accidents. The briefcase with the one hundred million was sitting on top of her, "Thank goodness you're ok Deena!" Bernadette sighed in relief as Deena coughed up some water, "You got knocked out after-"
"Where's Davy!?" Deena threw the briefcase off of her and looked around for Davy but saw no signs of him, "Bernadette do you know where he could be?" Deena looked around the hill to see if Davy was washed up anywhere else.
"No, I don't see him!" Bernadette answered as Deena continued her fruitless search for Davy.
Deena stopped for a moment and clenched her fist, "I… I lost him…" Deena looked at the ground, refusing to let herself tear up. The delinquent's grief over losing Davy didn't last, however, as Deena noticed somebody in a police boat driving on the river. "That must be someone investigating whatever happened to the prison…" Deena took a deep breath and snatched the briefcase as she got out of sight from the police boat before heading up the hill, despite Davy now being missing, she had hope that he made it back to shore and that one day they'd meet up again. Deena took a deep breath as she looked back to the island where Hope's Lament used to be… Abigor's game was finally over.
"Well…" Bernadette began, "This marks my goodbye to you, as well Deena… I'd love to stay with you to help you for longer, but… Silas, Simeon, and I all have a friend to visit."
Deena let out a small chuckle, "Well, goodbye then."
"Goodbye… hero…" Bernadette left Deena's body and disappeared, leaving Deena to her own devices.
Deena let out another chuckle, "Hero… I guess I could get used to that…" Deena walked forward with the money in her hand, while she lost Davy along the way, she knew he'd never want her to stay back doing nothing, she instead chose to be grateful for everything he did for her as she walked onto what now felt like an unreal world…
Davy struggled with the water and felt himself sinking deeper and deeper while being powerless to save himself. He was tired, injured, and Silas could only shout at him to stay determined so many times before Davy got tired of it. Davy stopped fighting against the water and accepted his fate…
But before Davy could drown, someone on a boat behind him reached into the water and pulled him out before taking him into their boat. Davy coughed out a ton of water as his savior turned out to be none other than Lyre.
"Holy shit…" Lyre's eyes widened as he saw Davy, "Davis Armadeus! You're alive!" Lyre helped Davy to his feet and sat him down on the boat before taking out a blanket and covering Davy with it.
"Who… are you?" Davy coughed out as Lyre showed him his badge.
Lyre put his badge away and gave a slight smile, "Detective Lyre Briggs, but that isn't important, what's important is that you're alive, and your case was looked over and you were found to be innocent!"
"Wait.. really?" Davy slightly perked up at this news, but the thought of where Deena was was still haunting him, "But… where's Deena?"
Lyre looked at the floor of the boat, "Deena… I don't think made it." Lyre told Davy, still believing Deena died when Salem threw her into the air.
"No, that's not possible!" Davy yelled, "Deena's the toughest person I know, she wouldn't let a little drowning kill her!"
Lyre noticed Davy saying Deena drowned and thought for a moment before speaking to Davy again, "Look… I'm doing my best to look for her right now… that's all I can promise… but right now you look like you gotta get some rest." Lyre fixed his coat and took out his phone, "I'll make a call to get more people over here… but after this, I'm gonna need your help with some questions after this is over… I need to know more about Salem."
Davy nodded, not choosing to say anything about Lyre's knowledge of the demon host. The rocker looked out onto the waters while wrapping himself up in the blanket, he was a free man now, but he lost track of his friend.
"They'll find her, Davis," Silas reassured Davy.
Davy just nodded to himself as he continued to look out onto the waters, feeling a mixture of joy and sorrow as he waited to be taken in for questioning. He had a good feeling Deena was out there, but there was no way that she would risk getting caught by a police officer after everything they'd been through, "Yeah… they will…" Davy lied to himself as Lyre explained that he found Davy to the other detectives. Davy just continued to gaze out onto the water, unsure of what would happen next, Hope's Lament's island got smaller and smaller as Davy just kept his blank stare…
Epilogue
"Lyre, you have a phone call." A receptionist called Lyre as he sat down in his office. It had been two weeks since the bombing of Hope's Lament, Davy was pulled in for questioning and they learned about Abigor and Salem, even managing to retrieve the former's corpse for research and archive purposes. The prisoners in witness protection were returned to their respective jails, barring Aztaroth, Edna, and Jacque. As for George, the detectives decided to not bother trying to get him back in jail, knowing full well that there were barely any archives of his arrest anymore, and the evidence Salem had planted of his innocence was legitimate. Speaking of Salem, the agency decided to archive the footage rather than release it publicly, they knew that it was critical information to hold onto, but they weren't sure how people would react to the information of demons being real. As for the detectives, Truthteller was already off doing his thing with another missing persons' case and Ryo was conducting his own investigation to find Deena to get some closure on her, and Lyre was awarded for his investigation into the prison, captured footage of Salem, and his rescue of Davy.
"What is it now?" Lyre held the phone up to his ear as he sat back in his office chair.
A detective cleared his throat on the other end and began to speak, "It's odd… but… we found this island, not on any of our maps." The detective revealed, "Normally, this isn't much of an issue, but this one's different."
"How different?" Lyre raised an eyebrow and sat up from his chair.
"This place is just like what those witnesses described Hope's Lament to be like. The inhabitants of the island all have magical powers of some sort." The detective told Lyre, whose eyes widened in response.
Lyre took a deep breath, "Jesus… here we go again."
"Well, the people there seem to be friendly and passive, so it appears force isn't necessary." The detective added on, which calmed Lyre down ever-so-slightly.
Lyre looked out his window and kept himself on the phone, "Ok… but what's this island called, exactly?"
"Qeoxeathas Island." The detective replied, marking the discovery of yet another garden…
Monica sat down in her cell bed and was about to fall asleep when she noticed a small slip of paper on her window sill. The perfectionist got up and snatched the note before any guards could see it. The girl opened the note to see it was a very sloppily written message that read "Meet me at your cell tomorrow at seven in the morning at the latest if you wanna get out of here -Kennedy."
Monica lightly laughed as she crumpled the note up and ripped it to shreds, "Psh, as if." Monica hid the bits of paper in her hand as she got ready to dispose of it somewhere else. "If I escape here, I'll just have to deal with being chased for the rest of my life, and if we go back to Mom and Dad, we'll just have to listen to them calling us disappointments over and over."
Monica smirked as she got rid of the note and walked back to her cell, "Besides… I think I've made myself quite popular around here… it would be a shame to leave early." Monica glared over at a prisoner in their cell, only for them to look away nervously. Monica just gave them a pleased smile as she made it back to her cell before laughing, "A wolf among puppies…"
"Thank fucking god, it's finally over." Jacque opened the door to the apartment he was currently staying in and walked inside, only to immediately crash on the couch, "I keep having this feeling that Salem's gonna show up again and drag me to hell or some shit like that, never know when that guy is after you." Jacque rolled onto his back and put his hands behind his head, "I'm definitely a changed man after all of this…" Jacque could hardly contain his laughter from his lie as he put his hand over his head and nearly fell off the couch.
"Oh, that's such a good joke!" Jacque continued to laugh as he pulled himself off his couch before he closed the door to his apartment, "I mean, could you imagine if I'd actually stopped all the hustling just 'cause I landed on some hard times?" Jacque looked over at a safe in the corner of his room and grinned, "Business has been pretty good recently… I'd be quite the moron to just suddenly stop doing it."
Jacque got up and opened the safe to reveal a good amount of money in there, the conman took a small stack of money out from his pocket and set it down in the safe before chuckling lightly, "Still not enough to move out of this fucking dump, but it's building. I think a few more schemes and I'll be able to get some nice ass house or something like that." Jacque smirked as he locked the safe, "Yeah… that'd be pretty nice."
"Yeesh, it's so annoying to sneak this stuff past the guards." Relinda hurried off into her prison's library before looking around for anyone, she could see a few guards on duty, but none who were currently looking her way, "Good… nobody's looking." Relinda knelt behind a bookshelf and moved a tile on the floor out of the way before pulling a small kit of handmade paints out of her sleeve.
Relinda tossed the tile away to reveal a work-in-progress painting of her friends from Hope's Lament, with Relinda herself being left out in case a guard were to discover this. Relinda kept herself hidden from sight as she began to paint on top of the unfinished picture. The waitress made slow progress on her little personal project, mostly just due to her being too nervous about the risk of a guard spotting her and yelling at her for her vandalism of the floor.
"I don't think I'll finish today… but this is good progress…" Relinda dusted her hands off as the painting had a good shape to it, and Monica was already fully complete. Relinda sighed as she put the tile over the painting and snuck out of the library, "I miss those guys… they were pretty nice compared to the people here…" Relinda sat down on her cell's bed and looked out the window, "I hope when I get out of here I can meet them again."
Rival groaned as he woke up in his hospital bed, his stab wound healed a great bit since he was medically evacuated. The guitarist looked around his room to see it was currently empty, "Guess the nurses aren't too worried about me right now." Rival thought to himself as he noticed the light of the three angels filling up the room, "Huh?" Rival pulled himself up to see Bernadette, Silas, and Simeon waiting for him, "Is something wrong?" Rival asked, immediately assuming the worst for Hope's Lament.
"Rival, we won!" Bernadette exclaimed, causing Rival to stare in disbelief, "Your sacrifice wasn't in vain, we won!"
Rival felt a smile form on his face as he began to tear up from the news, "It's over!? W-We won!?" Rival laughed before putting his hands over his mouth to make sure none of the guards could hear him talking, "I-I can't believe this!"
"We'd love to stay much longer Rival, but this not being a garden and there being guards nearby makes it difficult." Simeon added while they celebrated, "But we wanted to see you one more time before we parted ways to let you live your own life."
Rival wiped his eyes off as he prepared to say goodbye to the angels, "Just tell me, did Jade get to make it out of the prison? Did it work out for her?"
The three angels stayed silent before Silas revealed the answer, "Jade let herself get eliminated so she could free George."
Rival stopped for a moment before hanging his head down, "She always would act like a hero… I hope I can see her again…" Rival mumbled before looking back up at the angels, "W-Well… I guess this is goodbye then, huh? I-It was nice to meet all of you."
"Goodbye, Rival…" The three all said simultaneously before disappearing. After the three left the room, Rival laid back on his pillow, feeling hopeful about what was going to happen next for once…
Jade sat back on her bed and sighed in relief as she had just finished getting into a fight with another inmate who was picking on a much smaller and weaker inmate. "I hope that I did the right thing back there… and that guy wasn't even worse than the one I beat up." Jade thought to herself as looked at her lightning bolt scar. Jade let out a very small sigh before moving her hand away, "I hope Rival's ok… even after everything that happened."
Jade gave a slight smile while she thought about memories of her and Rival, "Yeah… he's strong enough to push through what happened to him." Jade stopped smiling when she noticed yet another fight happening far away from her cell, "Here we go again." Jade cracked her knuckles and got up from her bed and prepared to break up the fight.
"Times like this and how hard it is in general sometimes make me regret giving the idol to someone who probably wasn't even grateful for it… but I know I did the right thing, even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes." Jade walked towards the fight, ready to break it up while getting a confident look on her face, "At least while I'm here, I can look back on the friends I made at Hope's Lament… I hope none of them would be disappointed with my choice to stay…" Jade thought as she made her way to the fight, she knew she could've had freedom, but the fact that she gave it up for someone else didn't bother her… she knew she did the right thing.
"It feels like it's been forever since I was last here…" Romeo looked around at his family's farmhouse as a police officer dropped him off there, he had to wear an ankle bracelet now to make sure he didn't try going off to steal anything, but outside of that, he was let out of prison early.
"Yeah." The police officer driving him nodded, clearly not interested in Romeo's home, "Just keep the bracelet on for the rest of what was your sentence and it'll be off in no time." The officer told Romeo, who just nodded as he took a crutch out from the cop car.
Romeo leaned on his crutch and waved off the cop car before turning to the farmhouse, "I'd like to hope Ma and Pa aren't too angry at me…" Romeo limped to his house, worried about what his parents were going to say about him. Romeo groaned in pain from his injured leg as he made his way to the farmhouse, "Well… no lecture from them could be worse than prison… especially what happened with Chris and that… awful demon…" Romeo winced as he thought back to his leg being broken.
"Yeah… It's gonna be better than that." Romeo sighed in relief as he convinced himself that nothing could be worse than what had happened to him. Romeo stopped and looked around his farm to see how peaceful everything around him was and how a light wind hit the wheat. Romeo cracked a small grin on his face before heading back to the farmhouse, "Yeah… it'll be alright…" Romeo walked off, content with being back at his home.
"Listen here pipsqueak, if I see you sneaking through my cell again I'll kill you right then and there!" A prisoner yelled at another prisoner while Quinn watched from a distance, "You got that you little shit?"
"Pssh, fuck off, you can't do shit to me unless you wanna meet my 'friends'." The smaller prisoner threatened while Quinn wrote down notes about the two.
"Oh… Ivylina and Karolin love each other so much… they're always having cute wittle arguments about how much they want to love each other but can't due to what the guards would say! So adorable!" Quinn gushed as she wrote down notes about how the two were obviously a couple even though their argument was proving otherwise.
Ivylina seemed to have enough of Karolin as she began to lift her by the neck and started choking her. Karolin tried kicking Ivylina to get her to let go of her, but it was no use as Ivylina continued to choke her out.
"Aww! Ivylina is hugging Karolin by the neck to show her how much she loves her!" Quinn noticed a pair of guards rushing towards the two before they pointed their guns at Ivylina to tell her to let go of Karolin or else, "Nyoo! Those evil officers are trying to tell them they can't love each other! Leave them alone!" Quinn pouted as the guards continued to shout at Ivylina to let Karolin go.
Unfortunately, the words had no effect, seeing as Ivylina continued to chook Karolin to the point where it looked like she could die at any moment. Right as the guards were about to fire a shot at Ivylina, another guard snuck up and hit her on the head with his nightstick, knocking her out completely. The two guards armed with guns sighed in relief at not having to shoot a prisoner as they helped take Karolin to the hospital room and Ivylina to solitary confinement.
"Damn officers! Always ruining the romance!" Quinn crossed her arms and cried at the loss of her ship, "One day the perfect romance will blossom here! Mark my words!" Quinn promised while being completely ignored by pretty much everyone else in the prison.
"Great game today huh?" A football player asked his friend as they walked home from a game, "Looks like Stiton Monkeys have taken yet another victory against those… what were they called again, Anton Ants?" The football player laughed, "Such a fucking lame name."
"Not as lame as our mascot." The friend looked down at his uniform and groaned, "Monkeys suck, who would want that as their mas-"
The two were cut off from their conversation by George jumping out of a set of bushes and shouting, "What did you just say! You hate black people!?" George yelled at the two, who just gave blank stares to him, "Look at you two bigots, silent because of your horrid actions!"
"Isn't that the Ants' quarterback?" One of the football players asked the other as he groaned.
"The hell are you talking about man, we're just talking about how lame you and our monkey mascot are-" The player tried to explain but was cut off by George letting out an obnoxious scream.
George shook his head repeatedly, "Wow, actual pieces of trash. Can't even look at a black man without thinking of a monkey, huh? Well, guess what fuckers, I'm telling your coach about this one, and you're gonna be banned for the rest of the season!"
"...Go ahead? You're just making a big deal out of nothing man." The second football player shrugged as he and his friend walked off, "Let's just go, this guy clearly just wants to start a fight over nothing."
"Yeah." The friend agreed as the two walked off as George was screaming about how racist they are for what they said.
George shook his fist at the two with a fake look of rage on his face, "You'll see! You'll all see! I refuse to accept this bigotry from you two!" George continued rambling random things about how those two players were racist, while everyone else just looked at him like he was completely insane.
Aztaroth yawned as he covered himself up with his blankets, fully ready to go to sleep. The gambler was about to pass out when he felt someone jump on his bed before snatching his blankets and running off, "Edna…" Aztaroth groaned to see Edna sitting on top of a large mountain's worth of blankets in the corner of the room, "Please give me my blanket back."
"No thanks, Masteroth!" Edna grinned as she stayed on her mountain of blankets, "This is fort prince, where Edna is in charge! No other people around!" Edna snapped at Aztaroth when he got up and tried to take his blanket back.
Aztaroth grabbed the bridge of his nose, "Edna… you can spare at least one blanket, come on." Aztaroth tried to grab the blanket again but was swatted away by the dog girl. "Fine." Aztaroth's eye twitched in rage as he jumped on his bed and crossed his arms.
Edna noticed Aztaroth was upset and immediately returned the blanket to him, "Wait Masteroth! Edna is sorry!" Edna gave the blanket to Aztaroth, who grinned as he took it back.
"Thank you." Aztaroth chuckled as Edna gave him puppy eyes like she wanted him to pat her on the head, "I'm not doing that." Aztaroth shook his head as Edna gave him bigger puppy eyes.
"B-But Edna was a good girl so she earned head pats!" Edna complained while Aztaroth rolled his eyes.
"You're not actually a dog, patting you on the head is weird Edna." Aztaroth told Edna as she stole his blanket from him again in response to him not complying with her demands, "Edna give me my blanket back!" Aztaroth yelled at her as she took the blanket back to her mountain, starting the cycle of her stealing his blanket all over again…
Deena was sitting in a hotel room bathroom while trying on multiple wigs to use as disguises for herself. "Ok… this should work." Deena looked at a short wig with black hair and kept it on as she moved into her hotel room, "This should make me look pretty average." Deena put on a simple outfit consisting of a video game-themed t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers, "Gonna have to find a good house to live in…but first I gotta work on my IDs… I feel like that one bank teller was onto me the other day."
Deena stretched out her arms and collapsed on her bed before taking her wig off, "Course, all this would be so much better if I was just with Davy…" Deena sighed as she rolled on her side, "But he was taken by the police before I could do anything to get him out of the water…" Deena lamented about how much she missed Davy before she got up off her bed.
"Well, there's no use getting sad and mopey about it every day." Deena got up and got ready to leave her hotel room to go do something for fun, "I know Davy would scream at me right now if he could see me." Deena walked out of her room and went downstairs, "But I still can't help but think about how much I miss him…"
Davy practiced guitar at his home while the rest of his bandmates were out causing trouble at some nearby movie theater. "This should be good enough." Davy finished practicing as he wrote down the notes for the song on a piece of paper. The song in question was named after Deena, and it seemed Davy was making it as a tribute to her, "Davy knows sappy shit like this isn't his style… but this is a special occasion, he assumes."
Davy grinned as he finished strumming a few chords on his guitar before he set it down on a nearby table. Davy stretched his arms out and looked out the window while thinking about his time at Hope's Lament, "Sometimes though… Davy wonders if Salem was right about him making a return one day… or if Abigor didn't really die, and he's still stuck in his mind…"
Davy's eyes widened slightly at the thought as he realized his fear of still being at Hope's Lament, the rocker then instinctively pinched himself before sighing when nothing happened, "Phew… Davy's still in the clear… but he still had to be sure of that." Davy grinned as he went back to playing his guitar, he still had worries about Hope's Lament and Deena, but he also wasn't taking his freedom for granted.
A rabbit was running around through a forest when it was suddenly lifted upside down by a homemade rabbit trap. "Yes!" A voice yelled out as the rabbit tried to squirm out of the trap. Picollo hopped out of the bushes to reveal it was he who had set up the trap, "A rabbit too? I'm gonna be eating good tonight!" Picollo celebrated as the rabbit managed to break free and escaped from the trap, "Wait no get back here!" Picollo tried to chase after the rabbit, but it managed to run away from him by hiding under a log.
"Goddammit, I hopped into celebrating too quickly." Picollo made a pun as he tripped and fell down a hill, "Ow…" Picollo looked up and dusted himself off to see he was at the camp he set up, "Well at least I'm at home-sweet-home." Picollo groaned as he got up and ran over to his tent. The clown searched through his bags to see he still had a few candy bars, a bottle of soap and shampoo, a razor, a few water bottles, and a new horn that he had stolen by sneaking into town at night.
"Well, at least I'm not starving." Picollo mumbled as he set his bag down and groaned, "I wonder if the circus would take me back… I'd probably have to come up with a fake name or something…" Picollo rubbed his chin as it began to rain on him, "Of course…" Picollo complained as he went into his tent to shield himself from the rain, "Yeah… maybe I should try my luck at the circus again so I don't have to deal with this anymore…"
Two guards walked through the halls of an insane asylum talking about the many inmates there as they passed the cell of one Clover Warrington. The guards didn't pay any mind to Clover's room, seeing as they were used to her whole schtick of complaining about despair while she groaned on and on about her 'one true love'. But little did those two guards know, if they had looked inside Clover's room, they'd find nothing but an empty straight jacket and a note that read, "You can't contain despair, it always finds a way…"
It's finally over… god it feels amazing to be done with an SYOC. I don't really have much to say other than thanks to everyone for letting me use these ocs and thanks to Daring and Zory for allowing me to use Davy's band members as well as Ryo and Andrius especially. Like I said before, I don't have much to say, but hey, if you want more of this place don't worry… there's always the sequel!
Reasoning for winner and second place:
Let's start with why Davy got second despite taking more of a protagonist role in this story. Well, the answer isn't really the most satisfying thing in the world, I really just kinda chose between the two as a 50/50 type of thing, but decided to lean towards Deena. I always knew they were gonna be the finalists cause like… come on… they're actual criminals in a prison-themed season.
But what gave Deena the edge over Davy were two things, one: I felt she deserved it more due to having to suffer a lot more than Davy did through the story, as well as her having more reactions to things. As for number two: this one's more of a funny reason, but the power Zory picked at random just happened to be the perfect counter to Abigor's invincibility, since Deena can eat anything, but Abigor can't be hurt by anything, what happens then? That's when I came up with the idea of Deena being the one to defeat Abigor.
But one thing I wanted to happen specifically to the two finalists was how different their endings are, Davy may have lost the season due to not getting the money, but he was given his freedom in exchange, while Deena got the money and, by extension, victory but is now a fugitive.

Alternative Ending:

…Unfortunately for Deena, Abigor wasn't too interested in learning the answer to that question, seeing as he instead chose to kick Deena in the gut before quickly tossing her off the boat. "No!" Deena was swept away by the waves as she tried to catch up with the boat.
Abigor grinned as he was about to jump off the boat, only for Davy to suddenly fly towards him. The rocker recovered from his injury and used his explosive to send himself forward so he could tackle Abigor as a final gambit.
The cult leader tried to get out of the way as Davy slammed into him and sent the two of them flying past the 'barrier' of Hope's Lament. Eadbhert's body returned to a lifeless state as he and Davy fell into the water. Davy pulled himself up and saw Eadbhert's body just floating there, Davy slammed his fist on Eadbhert to make sure he was dead before looking over at Deena, "Deena!" Davy panted as he tried to reach Deena.
"Davy!" Deena yelled back as another large wave hit both of them and knocked them both out…
Davy opened his eyes and groaned as he looked around to see where he was, he was on the shores of one of the surrounding areas of Hope's Lament, one that seemed to be a hill connected to a nearby park that was fenced off to avoid accidents. The briefcase with the one hundred million was sitting on top of him, "Thank goodness you're ok Davis!" Silas sighed in relief as Davy coughed up some water, "You got knocked out after-"
"Where did Deena go!? Is she alright!?" Davy got up and gripped the briefcase while looking around for Deena, but the rocker couldn't find her anywhere.
"I… I don't see her." Silas commented on Deena's missing status.
Davy stopped for a moment before grinning, "She must've made it to a different area, let's go find her Silas!" Davy yelled out as he noticed a police boat on the water, "Shit… let's move quickly before those bastards can get Deena!" Davy told Silas, completely in denial about Deena being missing while convincing himself she was somewhere nearby.
Davy walked up the hill and ran into the park… dead set on finding Deena and escaping with her…
Deena's body sunk deeper and deeper into the water as she slowly began to drown, but before the prisoner could drown, someone's arms reached into the waters and pulled her out, while she finally woke up.
"Holy shit." Lyre's eyes widened as he looked at Deena, "Holy shit… you're Deena Loveberry!" Lyre pointed at Deena and laughed, "Sorry about the informal introduction." Lyre shook Deena's hand as he gave her a blanket and sat her down, "But my name's Lyre, I'm a detective for the MITC agency."
Deena winced when she realized that she'd just be taken back to jail again, "All that work just to be arrested again…" Deena mumbled as Lyre shook his head.
"Actually, I got a phone call today, and… your court case was reviewed, and the string of crimes you were accused of turned out to be from someone else." Lyre took out his phone and began to dial the agency, "But we will need to take you in for a little bit just for questioning relating to… everything in this prison."
Deena sat back and sighed as she looked out for signs of Davy in the water, "I-Is… Davy alright?" Deena asked Lyre who just got off the phone.
"Davy Armadeus? I… haven't seen him yet but believe me, I am searching far and wide for him." Lyre promised Deena, "But… There's a friend of yours who wants to see you… so just think about that…"
Deena nodded while looking out for Deena, "Do you think he's ok Bernadette?"
"I hope so, Deena…" Bernadette told Deena as the two waited for something to happen, "I hope so…"
The two finally made it to land, with Davy not being found by the time they made it to shore. Deena looked at the ground while keeping her hands in her pocket, "Deena!" A voice called out as Deena looked up to see Ryo run over to her, before Deena could do anything to react, she was interrupted by Ryo crushing her with a bear hug.
"Thank god you're alright… I don't know what I could tell Andrius if you weren't…" Ryo, despite not having any look of emotion on his face, still sounded glad to see Deena.
Deena's mood was uplifted a bit by seeing Ryo there, "Harry! I… haven't seen you in a while." Deena slightly chuckled as Ryo let go of her.
"Yeah…" Ryo awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, "I… tipped the detectives off about your disappearance and it looks like they solved everything."
"Thanks… but… I need to find Davy." Deena looked out on the water, "He might still be out there somewhere…"
Ryo patted Deena on the shoulder, "They'll find this Davy guy… don't worry." Ryo promised as Deena got ready to leave with Lyre. Deena didn't want to leave the island behind without Davy, but she knew that she was gonna have to go with the detectives to tell them what happened, so with a heavy heart, Deena took her first few steps as a free woman now… she had finally escaped Hope's Lament…
