Naruto Pov

Me, Miko and Hana were at this bakery called "Patisserie GRIZZLY."

It was after school and Hana wanted some cake so here we are looking at cakes and pastries.

Hana: Oh wow, Miko do you see this cake it's totesberry adorbs.

While pointing at a cute vanilla cake with bears and berries on it.

Naruto: Totesberry adorbs?

Miko: *nervously* Yeah.

Miko wasn't paying attention to the cake or me. her focus was more on the spirit child sitting in front of the cake hitting the display glass saying "let me out."

Hana: What, you don't like berries?

Miko: Uh no yeah I do, it's really... cute.

Hana: I know right?

Miko: Hey Naruto can you do something about this, and the others that are in there?

Naruto: Sure.

Hana: Hey do you think I should get it?

Naruto: 'Let's try this'.

I proceeded to phase my hand through the display glass while ignoring Miko and Hana's conversation about what cakes she should get or something.

I then concentrated on my hand and launched a ball of spirit energy. It immediately exploded and the display glass filled with a blue light.

I looked over at Miko with a smile.

Miko just stared at the display glass with a blank expression as the light dies down and the spirits inside started to dissolve.

Miko: I think I'll just have a cream puff.

Hana: And I will take the last slice of the woodland bear outing cake please.

On our way out the cashier wished us a good day and thanked us for our patronage.

Miko: Wasn't that overkill Naruto?

Naruto: Hey you didn't tell me how you wanted me to deal with them.

Miko gave me an annoyed expression.

Before returning her attention back to Hana.

Hana: Ok so where should our grand dessert tour take us next.

Hana: We can go to Mrs. D's or get some butt buns.

Miko: My vote is for butt buns.

Hana: Let's do butt buns, and it's early enough that they might have the juicy strawberry ones.

I smiled and shook my head as we were walking down the sidewalk.

Suddenly a dreadful feeling shot through me and my prayerbeads started to glow brightly I immediately jumped in front of the girls with my sword drawn.

Miko: Naruto?, what wro-.

Naruto: Miko take Hana and get out of here there's, something powerful and extremely dangerous up ahead.

I told Miko to leave, my eyes never looking away from the wall ahead of us. Suddenly a long hand with long sharp nails like claws appeared from behind the wall grabbing the other side of the wall. Miko just looked on in fear.

Naruto: SNAP OUT OF IT Miko you and Hana need to leave now!

Miko snapped out of it and got Hana's attention.

Miko: Hey Hana could we try Mrs. D's instead?

Hana: Heck yeah always good and then we can stop by black fashion.

Miko: Yeah.

Miko and Hana ran off behind me I briefly looked behind me to see Miko looking at me with a worried expression on her face, I gave her a thumbs up and smile to let her know I'm going to be ok.

Quickly turning my attention forward again to see the spirit in it full glory.

The spirit was tall and kinda lanky.

It wore a dark kimono. It had long dark hair it's face was messed up it had no lips so it's teeth were always exposed. It had four eyes, the extra eyes were located below the mouth on it's chin. It's normal set of eyes were sewn shut.

It's aura was foul and dark.

I could feel sweat running down my forehead I was nervous.

Naruto: 'Damn I might not be ok, this spirit is seriously dangerous.'

I noticed it's gaze was following Hana.

Naruto: 'It wants Hana.'

Naruto: 'Maybe I could purge it before it can react.'

I jumped towards it aiming for it's neck but the moment my sword made contact with it's neck I couldn't push my sword further to finish the job.

Naruto: 'Fuck it's skin is too hard for me to cut through.'

It then looked at me and before I could react it backhanded me in the stomach and sent me down the sidewalk. I barely managed to place my hands on the ground and do a backfilp to recover.

I quickly grabbed my stomach with one hand. I was breathing heavily.

Naruto: What. The. Hell.

Naruto: 'Shit it hits like a truck, I think maybe if im faster than it I could outmaneuver i-.'

My train of thought was interrupted by it suddenly charging at me with incredible speeds. I just barely jumped out of the way as it's claws came down cutting the front of my kimono. Midair I retaliated with a big ball of spirit energy hitting it directly in the face.

Naruto: 'That was close he nearly got me there.'

The dust cleared to reveal it barely had a scratch on it.

Naruto: 'Shit.'

We had a stare down before running at each other, it tried to swipe at me, I slid under it's legs immediately turning around and jumping onto it's back. I then tried to thrust my sword into it, only for my sword to bounce off barely leaving a scratch.

The spirit quickly turned around to try and attack me but I front filpped off of it and landed in front of it I quickly jumped away from it only for it to grab my foot.

Naruto: 'Oh crap.'

It proceeded to slam me into the sidewalk and then threw me at a lamp post. I was struggling to get up.

Naruto: Shit get up come on get up.

It then grabbed my throat and picked me up and brought me up to its face.

I quickly swung my sword at it aiming for the eyes but it slapped my sword out of my hand, but what happened next pissed me off.

Spirit: Weakling.

Naruto: Hey I'm no-.

It stabbed it's claw like nails into my side. I let out a howling scream but it was nothing compared to what was about to happen. It grabbed my arm and then proceeded to tear off my arm, I just kept screaming.

Naruto: 'This is bad I'm going to die if this keeps up I need to get out of here.'

Spirit: Must consume.

Naruto: Yeah well eat this you bastard!

I gathered my remaining spirit energy into my hand and slammed a massive ball of spirit energy into its face. It proceeded to drop me and grab its face and without missing a beat I grabbed my sword and quickly sheathed it before grabbing my arm and flying off with what little strength I had left.

~Timeskip~

Miko POV

I just made it home after me and Hana's grand dessert tour. I had fun with Hana but my mind kept wandering back to Naruto.

Miko: 'I hope Naruto is ok, I know he can handle him self but that spirit looked strong.'

I shook my head as I was walking up the stairs to my room.

Miko: I'm sure he's fine.

I opened the door to my room and as I walked in my heart dropped. I covered my mouth in shock and fear. There at the other end of the room was Naruto sitting leaning against the wall.

He was in bad condition his breathing was shallow he had cuts and black bruises. The front of his kimono was slashed open but what drew my attention the most was the holes in his side and his missing arm which actually was laying in his lap but still.

I quickly ran over and kneeled in front of him.

Miko: Hey Naruto what happened?

No response. I grabbed his shoulder and shaked him a bit.

Miko: Hey Naruto this isn't funny come on now.

No response. I can feel tears welling up in my eyes. I grabbed both his shoulders and rested my head in the crook of his neck and started cry.

Miko: P- Please don't be dead I still need you.

I suddenly felt a hand on my head. I pulled away and looked up to see Naruto with tired eyes looking at me with a weak smile.

Naruto: Hey Miko.

I felt overjoyed that Naruto was still alive.

I pulled him into a tight hug.

Miko: Oh my god you're alright, thank goodness.

Naruto: *cough* Being alright is a bit of a stretch but im alive so that's something.

Naruto: Thank god I don't have blood or I would have been dead by now.

And with his one hand he wiped away the tears from my eyes.

Naruto: I'm just glad you're ok.

Miko: I'm fine but what happened to you?

Naruto: That spirit kicked my ass, that's what happened.

Naruto: It was one sided, I barely escaped with my life.

Miko: So it's still out there?

Naruto: I'm afraid so, but next time I'll be ready for it, I have plan.

I stood up and looked down at Naruto with a pissed off look.

Miko: WHAT! Are you crazy you want to fight it again?

Naruto: I kinda have to, *cough* it's after Hana.

I gave him a scared worried look.

Miko: It's after Hana?

Naruto: Yeah it is, but for now you need to rest especially me.

I saw Naruto close his eyes.

Miko: Are you sure you'll be fine?

Naruto: Yea I'll be better by tomorrow moring, my wounds will heal and my arm will grow back, now shhhhh sleep.

I decided to take Naruto advice and get some sleep.

~Next morning~

I shot up out of bed breathing hard.

I had nightmare about the spirit that almost killed Naruto. I looked over to see Naruto still sleeping but he looked like nothing happened.

Miko: 'I'm glad he's ok though, he had me worried there for a moment.'

Miko: Man I hope we don't run into that spirit again too soon.

~Small Timeskip~

Naruto Pov

My eyes were closed but somthing smelled good in the room.

Miko: Hey Naruto wake up I made you food.

I proceeded to open my eyes to see Miko sitting on her bed, after my eyes immediately looked at the plate of pancakes on the table in the middle of the room.

Naruto: Are those pancakes for me?

I said while pointing to my self.

Miko: Yep I made them myself, I thought you could use something nice after yesterday.

Naruto: Hell yeah, thanks Miko.

I crawled over to the table and started to dig in. After the first bite I felt like I was in heaven.

Naruto: Miko this is good, I never knew you could cook, this is the best thing I've ever had.

Miko: Your just saying that.

Naruto: I'm not, this is awesome.

Miko: Yeah? Well thank you.

Miko blushed a little. I quickly finished off the rest of the pancakes.

Naruto: so what's the plan today?

Miko: We're supposed to meet up with Hana later and go to the movies.

I jumped to my feet and stretched.

Naruto: Sounds great.

Miko gave me a concerned look.

Miko: Are you going to be ok to go out so soon?

Naruto: Yea of course Miko, I feel great, amazing even.

Miko gave me a skeptic look.

Miko: Alright if you say so.

~Timeskip~

Me and Miko were standing around waiting for Hana to show up but she was running late.

Hana: HEY SORRY FOR MAKING YOU WAIT!

Hana appeared running towards us with the spirit from yesterday right behind her. It looked uglier then before its eyes popped out. It's hair was floating a bit. And it had 4 more eyes on its chest

Naruto: 'What the hell!?'

Naruto: Miko take Hana somewhere safe while I deal with this as best as I can.

Before Miko could reject my idea I phased into the ground.

Naruto: 'I always wanted to try this.'

I flew out of the ground like a rocket and upper cutted the spirit in the face.

Naruto: POWER!

I didn't stop, I flew to the top of the building nearby and then looked down at the spirit, it was laying on the ground trying to get up after that punch.

I shot a small ball of energy at one of it's eyes. The eye ball on the lower left chin exploded. It then proceeded to scream at me.

Naruto: Oh did I make you angry?

Naruto: Well screw you I don't care so, bleh.

I stuck my tongue at it. I then noticed the spirit starting to crouch down.

Naruto: Uh oh time to go.

I then flew off with the spirit jumping after me.

Naruto: Yeah that's right follow me.

About 10 minutes later of playing cat and mouse I found a construction site.

Naruto: 'Perfect.'

I quickly looked over my shoulder and shot a big ball of energy into its face faster then it could react.

I immediately flew up and hid behind one of the metal girder, it just happened to be next to a bunch of hanging girders. The spirit recovered and started looking around.

So I started to throw my voice around to confuse it.

Naruto: Hey over here.

Naruto: No over here.

Naruto: No this way.

The spirit started to look around confused

Naruto: I see you, looking around like a loser~.

Naruto: Looking for me like a loser~.

The spirit wandered underneath me.

Naruto: 'Gotcha now.'

Naruto: Hey ugly, suck it.

The spirit looked up as I cut the cable holding up the girders. The girders fell directly on top the spirit but I almost screamed at what happened next.

The spirit jumped straight at the falling girders and phased right through them and it was heading directly for me.

Naruto: 'Shit I forgot all spirits could do that.'

I back flipped out of the way of its sharp claws and kept back flipping to avoid the follow up attacks.

I eventually jumped back down to ground level because I was running out of room. I looked up to see the spirit lunging at me, I jumped back to avoid its strike. Lucky its claws got stuck in the ground giving me a moment to catch my breath.

Naruto: 'Ok keep it up, just keep wearing it down.'

Naruto: 'But can I keep it up is the real question.'

Spirit: Weakling.

Naruto: Oh that's it, you'll regret calling me that for a second time.

I proceeded to gather energy in my hand until a big ball of energy formed, I then slammed the energy ball into my sword. My sword absorbed the energy and gained a blue aura around it.

Naruto: You should feel honored to see my new move.

I then ran at it head on, it followed my lead and run at me full speed, it tried to swipe at me but I jumped back at the last second.

Naruto: SPIRIT SLASH!

My sword severed it's hand clean off.

The spirit grabbed it's wrist and started screaming out in pain.

Naruto: That was for my arm you jack ass.

The spirit then looked down at its severed hand and tried to reach for it.

But I kicked it away from us.

Naruto: YEEET!

The hand flew through the air and landed in the back of a pickup truck that was turning onto the main road.

I couldn't help but laugh.

Naruto: Ha better go get it if you wan-.

I was interrupted by it punching me in the rip cage, sending me flying into one of the girders.

Naruto: Ouch.

As I was standing up my side hurt like crazy.

Naruto: Yep it broke one of my ribs.

I noticed the spirit went after the truck.

Naruto: That should buy me some time, hopefully the driver doesn't run into any red lights for awhile.

Naruto: Hey Miko where are you.

Miko: Oh Naruto are you ok?

Naruto: I'm fine the spirit is on a wild chase for its hand at the moment, but that doesn't matter where are you?

Miko: I'm near the mountain on the. east side of town.

Naruto: East side, ok on my way.

I started flying over there as fast as I possible could. Suddenly I felt a dreadful presence behind me I looked over my shoulder to see the spirit from before chasing after me again.

Naruto: 'Well it was nice while it lasted.'

Naruto: Miko where are you exactly, I'm coming in hot.

Miko: I'm at the shine on the mountain.

Naruto: You're WHERE?!

Miko: A-at the shrine?

Naruto: God damn it.

Miko: What's wrong?

Naruto: Nothing just stay put and don't touch the shrine.

Miko: Um about that.

I was approaching the shrine fast.

Naruto: God damn it, you know what it doesn't matter, I'm coming up on the shrine now.

I landed in front of the shrine.

Naruto: Miko I'm her-.

Miko POV

I just finished praying at the shrine when I got those messages from Naruto. I turned around to see Naruto flying towards the shrine. With the spirit right behind him.

I watched as Naruto landed in front of us.

Naruto: Miko I'm her-.

Naruto seemed to be focused on me and didn't notice the spirit had already landed behind him. The spirit backhanded him into some trees.

I noticed Naruto wasn't moving.

Miko: 'Shit he's unconscious.'

Miko: 'Now what?'

Suddenly two shorter spirits appeared.

One on each side of the evil spirit. They looked identical, both wearing white kimono with short brown hair and a golden aura around them that shimmers.

Miko: 'Why are there more of them?'

Miko then turned her attention back to Hana to make sure they didn't know that she can see them.

Hana: If it took you that long to pray, you must've been asking for something hard to get.

Miko: Nothing special just good health.

Hana: What? Boring.

Miko: 'This is bad Naruto's out cold, I might have to call an actual exorcist.'

Hana started to walk around the shrine.

Hana: For real though this place is awesome, I feel like im in a Nibley movie.

Hana: Lalalala~

Hana: Honestly still kinda bummed we didn't end up seeing my nearby Tororo 2.

I looked over at the spirits again ignoring what ever Hana was saying.

Miko: 'Are the smaller ones it's friends?'

One of the smaller spirits started to speak but I couldn't understand it. like it was talking in reverse or something.

Then in unison the small spirits spread their arms out and then clapped them together. Suddenly the evil spirits arms exploded off and it started screaming, one of its arms flew past me nearly hitting me.

Miko: 'Ek.'

The evil spirit looked over at the one of the smaller spirit and started howling in anger.

Hana was try to ask me what Nibley movie was my favorite but I was too focused on what was happening in front of me.

The smaller spirits brought their hand up then clenched their fists, the evil spirit was on its knees. It looked like it was being crushed by gravity.

I decided to answer Hana's question from earlier but it was a total auto response anwer.

Miko: Ah can't say I've seen those, can't say I've seen anything at all.

Hana: Ugh, you're one of those people who just saw my nearby tororo? Come on, they're classics you need to watch at least some of them.

Miko: Um for sure, I totally will.

The evil spirit kept getting gravity crushed by the smaller spirits.

Miko: 'What is this?'

Miko: 'Wait the smaller ones are they the shrines gods or something?'

Miko: 'Maybe their going to get rid of the evil spirit.'

Miko: 'Yeah come on, you can d-.'

My thought was interrupted by the evil spirits tongue flying out and smacking the smaller spirits which tore them in half.

Miko: *Internal screaming.*

Hana: Hey you think there's any googly eyed dust bunny's around here.

The evil spirit proceeded to pick up the remains of the smaller spirits with its tongue and eat them. All while Hana was singing.

Hana: Dust bunny's~ oh~ dust bunny's~ come out dust bunny's~.

The sun started to set and Hana noticed.

Hana: Oh wow, look at the sun being all moody through the torii gate, yes sun.

Hana: The lighting is so perfect, omg I've got to put this on my insta like right now.

I merely watched as the evil spirit was in front of the torii gate chewing on the remains of the smaller spirits.

Hana: Come on let's get a selfie.

Hana grabbed my hand and dragged me closer to the evil spirit.

Hana: Ok this should be a good spot.

We had our backs turned to the torii gate and the spirit.

Hana: But the back light might be too much.

I looked over my shoulder to see the spirit getting bigger.

Miko: 'Oh no it's getting bigger, crap what do we do.'

Suddenly a massive white spirit with golden shimmering aura appeared behind the evil spirit.

Miko 'What!'

The massive white spirit looked like a multi-tailed beast with an eyeless, fox-like head with two conical horns.

The evil spirit turned around only for its head to be grabbed by the white spirit. The white spirit started crushing the evil spirit's head between its fingers until it exploded.

Miko: 'uuuuuuuuh.'

I just look at it scared while Hana was messing with her phone for the selfie.

Hana: Hmmm yeah nailed it, this angle looks perfect.

The white spirits mouth opened and unfolded into five fang lined sections.

Miko: 'Ok what!'

Hana: Alright let's do this, smile at the camera like the internet is judging you.

I then looked at Hana's phone.

Hana: Ok say spaghetti.

The phone went off and in the picture Hana just took the white spirit bit down on the remains of the evil spirit and ate it.

I just looked at the picture with a look of pure terror on my face. Hana was saying something about her picture but I was too scared to listen.

Miko: 'What the hell, seriously what the hell is going on.'

Miko: 'Did it just eat the big one?'

Miko: 'Is that the shrines god? Ok it did just save us, right?'

Miko: 'Does that mean it's over or-.'

Suddenly the two smaller spirits from earlier appeared right in front of me.

Miko: 'Oh boy.'

Miko: 'Now what's happening? I don't like where this is going I should get Hana out of here.'

Miko: Hey Hana why don't you get going and I'll be right behind you I just got to do something first.

Hana: What, no way I'm leaving you here alone.

Miko: I'll be fine 'I hope' and I'll buy you a butt bun after, how about that?

Hana: Fine but I'm holding you to it.

Hana then ran off and down the stairs of the shrine.

Miko: 'Ok Hana's safe, now what.'

I suddenly heard the shrine god walking towards me.

Naruto Pov

My eyes open slowly. Everything hurt. I looked up, my eyes widened at what I saw. Miko standing there with the shrine god leaning over her shoulder and the shrine servants in front of her They were talking about something but I was too far away hear.

Naruto: 'This is bad I need to get up and stop this.'

I can see tears starting to form on the edge of her eyes, Miko was terrified. I then saw the shrine gods hand begin to move towards Miko.

I bolted from where I was and ran towards her full sprint.

Naruto: 'Come on, make it in time.'

Right as it's hand was about to touch Miko's head I appeared in front of her, pulled her into my chest and slapped the God's hand away.

Naruto: Don't you dare touch her.

Miko looked up at me in disbelief and relief that I was there in front of her.

Miko: Naruto?

I looked down at her and gave her a quick smile.

Naruto: Hey everything is going to be ok, just leave it to me.

I wrapped one of my arms around her waist and pulled her closer. I then turned my attention back the shrine god drew my sword and pointed at it.

Naruto: Back off.

Shrine God: Oh it's you Naruto I almost didn't recognize you, it been awhile.

Naruto: Yea it has been but I don't really want to be here so it would be so kindly and fuck off, that would be great.

Shrine God: But why I was just about to give this girl my blessing what's so wrong about that?

Naruto: Don't make me laugh we both know its more than a blessing, it's a deal.

Naruto: You agree to help her 3 times and in return you get something from her she can't possibly pay.

Miko: What are you taking about, Naruto?

Naruto: It wants your life in exchange for its help.

I feel Miko start to shake in fear for her life.

Shrine God: Well that's rude ruining my fun, also very hurtful I have a name you know.

Naruto: Yeah? Well I'm not stupid, I know names hold power for you guys.

Naruto: But if I remember correctly your name has been forgotten to time, barely anyone actually remembers your name.

Naruto: And if I remember nobody remembers that you're the shrine God anymore either.

Shrine God: Grrrrrrr why you.

Shrine God: At least I know what I am, unlike you.

Naruto: Yeah well I don't care what I am, now get out of our way.

Shrine God: Or what? What can a weakling like you do to me?

Naruto: Yeah I might be weaker than you but I'll put up one hell of a fight.

Naruto: And we both know I can't win against you but I can at least badly injure you before I die.

Naruto: And what would happen if the other shrine gods caught wind of this.

Naruto: All your enemies would be on your door step trying to finish what I started.

Naruto: And that wouldn't be good for you would it?

Shrine God: Grrrrrrrr fine get out of my sight, but know this isn't over between us.

The shrine god and its servants vanished.

Naruto: *sigh* Holy crap I'm glad that's over.

I felt Miko hug me tightly.

Miko: Thanks for saving me.

I hugged her back.

Naruto: Anytime Miko you're very important to me so I will always save you.

Miko nodded her head and we stayed there in each other's embrace for a few more minutes.

Naruto: Ok let's go I bet Hana is waiting for you.

Miko: Yeah let's go together.

I just nodded my head.

And we walked down the stairs of the shrine.

Naruto: 'Next time we meet I will be ready for you.'
