The next few days, there had been a silent tension between them. Hawks kept their physical interaction limited to night, when Mika rested against him in anticipation for her usual night terrors. He had also began to patrol a few hours a day, giving both of them space.
She had felt off all day. Her body was twitchy and ached if she sat still for too long. Rain was falling outside, poor Hawks was out in it. She hoped he staying warm.
She crawled into the sheets, settling the pillows and their cases she had put back on, testing herself. She hoped a nap would do her some good, aiding her painful body.
A grumpy Hawks landed on the roof of the overly familiar building and huffed as he made his way inside. Mika had been radio silent all day, not responding to his check in message.
His soaked form walked through the door and scanned the room, landing on her form in the bed. Shutting the door behind him, he walked over and studied her, "Mika."
Her grey orbs opened, looking confused, "Are you back early?"
He shook his head, "No I'm late. Are you okay?"
"My body feels off," she rested against the pillow under her head, "I hoped a nap would help."
He knelt down and felt of her skin, "You don't feel warm. What feels off?"
"My body is aching and feels like electricity is hitting through me."
He pulled out his phone and immediately called the one person he knew could help, "Hallie, I hate to ask, but do you think you could swing by? I need you to take a look at Mika."
Hallie carefully held Mika's arm in her hands, feeling, her eyes were closed. Mika quietly watched her as the two men stood quietly. "So, I think your quirk is trying to manifest."
"How do I stop it," Her grey eyes watched as Hallie stood.
"When my quirk first started, I felt a lot of what you're describing. It's why I started using cards," she held one in her hand casually, "I can place some of that energy into a card without any major disturbance." She held out the card to Mika, "If you wanna try, you can use this for now." Mika quietly nodded and took the card, Hallie smiled, "Try to get some more rest. And don't stress, it'll all work out."
Hawks exchanged a look with them before walking them out. "You really think that's all it is?"
"Yes," she turned to gave him, "Be careful though. We don't know how exactly my quirk is going to work for her."
"I got it," he winked and headed inside.
Bakugo sighed, "He doesn't have it does he?"
Hallie chuckled and began walking, "Not at all."
Mika curled into the sheets and let out a long breath, burrowing her face into the pillows. Her fingers absentmindedly played with the card in her hand as her mind processed what was happening.
"Mika," Hawks pet her hair, "how can I help?"
She opened her eyes and looked at him, "I don't know..."
He paused for a moment before settling down into the bed. He had changed out of his wet clothing into a warm pair of sweatpants. He curled behind Mika, using his body weight on her small form. His massive wing stretched out over her, adding weight. The pressure on her body felt divine. She relaxed, letting out a long breath. Hawks smirked to himself and burrowed into her dark hair, "Better?"
She nodded, "Yes."
They laid in silence for a long while, enjoying one another's presence and peace. The tension that had been present for days slowly faded. After a while she tossed the card aside, "I don't think that's going to help me."
"Probably not," he chuckled, "You and her are not the same person."
She smiled and rolled her eyes, "I'm aware. Thank you, for putting up with me. I know I haven't been easy to deal with."
Hawks sat back slightly, "You haven't been easy, but easy bores me." He winked, "Besides, a lots going on right now. We still have work to do, just work on getting better."
"Only because you asked so nicely," she teased, rolling over and petting his slightly damp hair. She decided to pick on him. "You're handsome."
His cheeks turned red, "Where did that come from?"
Mika chuckled, "My observation, silly." Her fingers traced his jawline, "You don't believe me?"
His golden eyes closed for a brief moment, "You're teasing me, aren't you?"
"Maybe," she smiled, "But my statement still stands true."
He scoffed and opened his hazy eyes, lazily kissing her palm, "You know better," he nipped the skin of her wrist, smirking when she jumped.
"Yet here I am," her eyes closed when his lips met hers in a soft, deep kiss. His hand held her wrist back against the bed before sliding into her hair, keeping their lips together. Her other hand slid and rested on his shoulder. They hadn't kissed like this since her return. Hawks had kept his distance in this regard, not wanting to trigger anything.
She had missed this. The safety and warmth he provided her with meant a lot to her. But, the comfort this gave her, brought her mind peace. His lips carefully moved down her cheek and along her jawline, nipping her neck. He couldn't help himself, even if he wanted to, he needed to be close to her, like this.
When their lips met again, it sparked a hungry fire. His warm hands worked their way underneath the oversized shirt in his way, tracing her soft skin. Goosebumps crawled along her skin, her back arched into his touch. "How do you do this to me," he hastily pulled the shirt over her head and threw it across the room before he met her lips again.
"It requires a special skill set," Mika nipped his neck, smiling when his hand gripped her hair, pulling her away from him.
"I wouldn't push your luck..." his free hand trailed down her exposed torso, "you're still in trouble for the shit you pulled before you left."
She opened her mouth to reply, but his crashed into her before her words left. Her nails raked along his skin, leaving traces of their path. His hand shot up and pinned her wrist, "Have it your way."
He kept her arms pinned as he worked his way down, nipping at her skin. Mika chuckled when he nipped her hip, she could feel his grin against her skin. His hand sneakily slid between her legs, making her whimper softly. He closed his and nuzzled into her neck as he did it again, her noises were music to his ears, and he wanted more of them.
She let out a shaky breath and closed her eyes, "You're an asshole."
Hawks laughed and kissed her, "I know. But you enjoy it." He kissed her temple gently before he began to tease her once more. Her back arched into his touch as she softly moaned into his mouth. She went to move her arms, but his grip on them tightened, his lips moving down and settling on her breast as his other hand continued. He was determined to get his pay back, ignoring his own desire for now.
Mika felt herself go breathless with his relentless teasing. She ached for him, longing to be tangled under the sheets. Hawks finally released her wrists, her hands tangled into his hair, pulling their lips together in a desperate kiss. He made a move to speak, but she cut him off, "Please."
"Yes ma'am," his lips met hers as he made fast work what clothing was left between them.
Izuku quietly held his sleeping son, his own green eyes growing heavy. Something about holding him always did this. He was happy to have the night off, missing his family was something he still wasn't used to.
Ochako chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, "You should put him to bed before you fall asleep again."
"Not yet," he yawned, "five more minutes."
"Five more," she leaned down and kissed his cheek, "I mean it."
Sure enough, five minutes later she felt him crawl into bed settling into the sheets. He sighed contently when she curled up to him, "Things will get busy soon," her voice was soft.
"He won't take leave until he has to," the green haired man held her close, "We still have to finish what we started."
Ochako leaned onto her elbow, "He needs to trust you and focus on his family."
He smiled, "He does trust me. He feels a great amount of responsibility. Especially when it comes to keeping them safe." He pulled her down and kissed her, "I can't hold that against him."
