April 5th 2043…

Connor opened his sleepy eyes and saw that Leah was awake before he saw that the alarm clock read 4:30am… and he rested his right hand on her stomach, feeling a slight jolt under his hand and focusing as he heard their child's heart beating.

"Our son or daughter is being active and feels your tension, Babe." Connor responded.

"That's what's causing the strange jolts and feeling like I should stand up?" Leah asked.

"You're still tense because of what happened today. Everything will be okay." Connor responded before they kissed and fell back asleep.

When Connor woke up later, he heard Leah throwing up and rushed to her side before he crouched down and rubbed one hand up and down her back while holding her hair back… and he helped her sit upright after she stopped, Connor putting the lid down and flushing the toilet.

Connor helped Leah up and to their bed so she could lie down before they heard whining and he walked to the door… and he opened it.

Sumo ran in, jumped onto Connor's side of the bed and rested his head on Leah's stomach as she petted him.

"It's okay, Sumo." Leah replied before Sumo reluctantly lifted his head up and let her sit up as Hank walked in… and Sumo barked at him as Hank tried to hug Leah, Hank backing away.

"Easy, Sumo. No need to attack." Hank responded.

Sumo grumbled and rested his head against Leah's stomach before he gave both Hank and Connor wary looks.

"Sumo, it's okay. You can relax now." Leah explained.

Sumo lifted his head off of her lap and Leah stood up before Sumo followed them into the kitchen, Leah taking two of her prenatal gummies before she closed the bottle and put it away as Hank plugged the toaster in and grabbed a cinnamon raisin bagel before he cut it in half and put it in the toaster.

"I know you guys haven't had the chance to talk about names yet but Gavin did but two little blue onesies." Hank replied as Leah sat down and carefully drank a cup of the herbal ginger tea once Connor had fixed it for her, Leah setting it down after a few sips and Hank putting peanut butter on the lightly toasted bagel.

"He did…" Leah responded as Hank put the bagel and some strawberries on a plate before he set it in front of Leah.

It was after breakfast that Leah picked up one of the onesies and turned to Connor before they kissed and both looked at Hank.

"Hank?" Connor spoke up, Hank looking at them.

"If it's a boy… would you be okay with us naming him after Cole?" Leah asked.

Tears filled Hank's eyes as he smiled and carefully pulled Leah into a hug, the two not letting go for a few minutes… and Hank and Connor hugging.

"I'm more than okay with you two naming him after Cole." Hank responded.

It was when they had gotten ready and after Hank had taken Sumo for a walk that the three had left, going to Belle Isle and reaching the CyberLife Tower… and Hank parked the car before he put the gearshift in park and shut the car off.

The three got out and walked into the building, finding a female receptionist with caramel brown hair and blue eyes with Sasha on her name tag.

"Hello. What can I help you with?" Sasha replied with a warm smile.

"We have an appointment with Mr. Kamski." Hank explained, Sasha nodding and motioning for them to follow her.

Elijah heard a knock at the door of his office and stood up.

"Come in." Elijah spoke up, Sasha opening the door and the two smiling at each other before he motioned for Leah, Connor and Hank to walk into the office… and Sasha left, closing the door.

It was after all four had sat down that Elijah looked at Leah.

"I didn't think to ask yesterday, especially with that horrifying murder all over the news… what led you to ask for a meeting?" Elijah responded.

"I don't know how much of this you'll believe, Elijah, but… we need to know what kind of upgrades were released after you returned to CyberLife. I took one of those home pregnancy tests yesterday and it was positive. Confirmed it at a doctor's appointment l." Leah explained, Elijah looking at Connor afterwards and then back to Leah.

"The RK800 I created, the state of the art prototype… is the father of your child?" Elijah managed to ask, Leah and Connor nodding.

"Let it sink in for a bit. It'll take some time to process the news." Leah responded.

"One of our recent upgrades was meant to help human protection become as effective for androids because of a shortage of materials needed to continue making protection designed for androids. I hadn't realized until early this morning when I got to work that the upgrade had been coded to actually make human protection completely ineffective on androids." Elijah explained.

"So because of a shortage, your workers cut corners?!" Hank replied angrily.

"Not necessarily. Everyone in the factory is being questioned as we try to figure out what went wrong. I promise that all findings will be turned over to the DPD." Elijah responded, hoping that Hank would calm down.

"The last time you said you'd help us, you didn't." Connor replied, Elijah turning to him.

"I promise this time, I will not put a gun in your hand and try to convince you to kill one of my Chloe androids. This is disconcerting to me as well because I didn't anticipate the possibility of a half human, half android child." Elijah responded before he turned back to Leah. "Detective Anderson, do you have an OB/GYN helping you ensure that your pregnancy is a safe and healthy one?" He asked.

"Yes. So far, everything is fine." Leah responded, Elijah nodding.

"Good to know. Keep everything on file and if you feel like you need extra help figuring out what to watch out for, we have an excellent medical staff here." Elijah replied.

It was after they left that Hank stopped the car at a red light and picked up the scanner.

"Repeat that again?!" Hank responded.

"All units at the DPD immediately, probable suicide in cell 3!"

"That was the cell that Gavin locked Evan into." Leah replied before Hank turned the sirens on and drove through several red lights as Leah held onto the seat.

When they reached the DPD and got out of the car, Hank locked it up before they rushed into the precinct and to the cells… and they saw the zipped up body bag before Leah took a deep breath and nodded for Ben to unzip it.

"Are you sure, kiddo?" Ben asked, Leah nodding.

Ben unzipped it and Leah walked over, noticing a gap between the bruises on Evan's neck... right where his throat was.

She looked up and saw Gavin talking to Evan's parents before Alexandra broke down in sobs and David pulled her into his arms as tears ran down his face.

Leah knew she had to wait to question them… but between the bruising not making a full circle and Leah knowing from the pattern that it would be a triple braided rope, something didn't quite sit right with her about Evan's parents.
