Lord Sidious, or as everyone knew him, Emperor Palpatine, watched the blue marble below him. His servant, Darth Vader, stood next to him, as did Grand Admiral Thrawn and Governor Tarkin. The disturbance in the force was indeed coming from this planet. He reached out with his senses and allowed the force to guide him to the source of the disturbance. There! The disturbance was coming from that island range just off the largest landmass.
"Do you sense it too, Lord Vader?"
"Yes, my master. It is coming from that island chain."
"Good. Grand Admiral Thrawn, bring us above that archipelago."
"Of course, my emperor."
Normally, they wouldn't be so obvious about their intentions, but their scans had assured them that this wasn't a spacefaring civilization. They broadcast all of their information via radio waves, the fools. The staff of the Star Destroyer Chimaera were working through the radio waves to piece together the situation on the planet.
"There are eight billion humans living on that planet. No aliens." That was unexpected. Sure, Coruscant had many more people, but this planet was more populous than the Core planet Alderaan. And how did those people get to this planet anyway? And why were there no aliens? Not that Sidious was complaining, he hated non-humans. Thrawn, a Chiss, was the exception. "They are split into 195 different political entities," the officer continued. How could they survive with such disunity? Sidious was going to fix that, after he balanced their population. Would he draft them all into the Stormtrooper Corp, or just fire his turbolasers at the planet? Both plans were good. "It seems that these factions are members of this 'United Nations'. Should we contact this 'United Nations', or begin our attack?" Normally, Sidious would have immediately ordered an attack, using the deadliest weapons to inflict the most damage possible until a planet was nothing but rubble. However, he didn't want to damage what was causing the disturbance in the force, if it was an object that would increase his power.
"Contact this 'United Nations'. I want to see how they react to the sight of the Imperial Navy."
Kusuke was wearing his telepathy canceler, so he didn't receive Kusuo's message to find somewhere safe. However, upon seeing the wedges in the sky, he had used his considerable sway within the scientific community to direct Japan's telescopes towards the wedges. Having confirmed his notion that the UFO's were starships, he used his contacts within Japan and the UK to give himself a seat at the UN as a science adviser. When this Galactic Emperor issued his request to speak with members of the UN, Kusuke outmaneuvered his fellow members to be the leader of the group to make first contact, despite being only 19. Being around Kusuo meant that he often forgot that he was the smartest human on Earth, well, except for Kusuo and his psychic powers. They went to Kusuke's grandparent's village, where Kusuke had built a spacecraft capable of taking him to Mars. The trip had been abandoned when Kusuke found out that Kusuo had been to Mars first. However, Kusuke would be the first to meet aliens. Kusuke would finally beat Kusuo!
"Dr. Saiki, when will we have liftoff?" I would be piloting the ship; I didn't trust the monkeys with me to properly pilot it.
"Now." Kusuke enjoyed the looks of fear on those worms as they blasted up into the sky.
'Mom will be so proud when I make first contact,' Kusuke thought.
Kusuke may have been wearing a telepathy canceller, but the people with him were not. I couldn't allow Kusuke to make first contact. He'd probably convince the aliens to fire upon Earth for his enjoyment. I transformed into Arnold Schwarzenegger using my psychic powers. What? No one would suspect a Japanese high school student in disguise if they saw the former governor of California. I teleported into the starship.
It was nice and quiet here, no longer being able to hear the thoughts of everyone within a 200 meter radius… There were people on this ship? And they were speaking English? Typical. An alien warship filled with Brits and Americans. Why couldn't the aliens be Japanese? Or Colombian? Or Maori? Or actual aliens? At least Schwarzenegger will fit in here. I had thought about transforming into Yamazaki Kento or Dwayne Johnson, but it appears they would have stuck out in this all-white ship. This was going to be easier than I thought: I already knew the major languages of the world, including English. And my psychic powers allowed me to communicate telepathically to people in their native language.
I turned on my invisibility to take a look around before talking to the aliens. I didn't like attention, even on an alien warship, or as their thoughts called it, a Star Destroyer. I really should have talked to Aiura before I came. I saw the blue-skinned man from my vision, and followed him. I had to be careful not to let anyone touch me, since that would turn off my invisibility. Too bad I had transformed into Schwarzenegger's hulking form.
'The Emperor's on board! I'm so proud! I wonder what's for dinner,' thought a white clad insect thing. A stormtrooper, telepathy supplied.
'Darth Vader's on board. I'll have to ask where he'll be staying so I can avoid him,' thought a man in gray. 'Though, Grand Admiral Thrawn is on board as well, so nothing too bad can happen.' He saw the blue-skinned man in front of me and saluted. 'It's Grand Admiral Thrawn! I'm such a big fan!' Keep your thoughts to yourself!
'It seems unnecessary to bring the 7th fleet to a small world with such primitive technology. There must be something to do with the Force here. Jedi, perhaps? I'm afraid the Force will always remain mysterious to those such as myself. I wonder what kind of art they have on this planet?' thought Grand Admiral Thrawn. 'I think there might be someone behind me,' He turned. I couldn't risk him being like Toritsuka: being able to see me when I'm invisible. I exchanged some items I'd grabbed at Saiko's bunker for a uniform.
"And who might you be? I've never seen you before," said Grand Admiral Thrawn.
A quick check with my telepathy showed that Thrawn could see me. I turned off my invisibility.
"Arnold Schwarzenegger," I replied telepathically.
'He speaks without moving his lips. How interesting.' I quickly used my telepathy to nip that line of thought. 'And it appears he can use Jedi mind tricks. I should bring him to the Emperor. This is out of my realm of expertise' No no no! I never should have come on this Star Destroyer.
"Come with me, Lieutenant," said Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Someone walked up to Grand Admiral Thrawn. "The delegation from the 'United Nations' asks permission to dock, Grand Admiral."
"Permission granted. Make sure there is the appropriate welcome party. I will come to greet them. Where is the Emperor?"
"In his room with Lord Vader."
"Please take Lieutenant Schwarzenegger to see them."
"Yes, sir"
I walked behind the officer. He introduced himself as Lieutenant Yogar Lyste from Garel. Based on people's thoughts about Darth Vader, I did not want to meet him, so I used my telepathy to mess with Lyste's sense of direction.
I gained an unintentional tour of the ship when Lieutenant Lyste accidentally took me to the cafeteria, the Stormtrooper barracks, the officer quarters, the bridge, the ammunitions depot, the arcade, and everywhere else but the Emperor's quarters.
"I'm so sorry, Lieutenant Schwarzenegger. I seem to have lost my way. I hope the Emperor won't blame you when you are late." No, but he will blame you. And I plan on never meeting the Emperor or Darth Vader. "Have this coffee jelly. My apologies for the delay." I think I've made a new friend. I saw a hooded figure enter the cafeteria. "It's the Emperor!" 'What do I do? What do I do? I've wasted so much of the Emperor's time, getting lost on a ship I've been on for months!' panicked Lyste.
I wasn't like Aiura. I couldn't see someone's destiny and power as clearly as a normal person can see hair color or gender, but I could tell the Emperor was a powerful psychic. I had to get out of here.
"I'm sorry for the delay, your excellency. You were expecting Lieutenant Schwarzenegger?"
"Not a problem at all, Lieutenant. Leave us." The cafeteria deserted immediately.
"Your name isn't really Arnold Schwarzenegger. And you aren't a member of the Imperial Navy. How did you get on board?" While he was talking, I felt him try to probe my mind. I had never encountered a psychic who was remotely near me in power, then I met this beast of an Emperor. I didn't know if I could take him in a fight, something I never thought I'd be able to say. 'He isn't a Jedi. Where did he learn to use the Force? He's reading my thoughts. I need to use stronger shielding' I felt a barrier rise up around the Emperor's mind, before it went blank. "How would you like to join my magnificent Empire?"
"What's in it for me?" If he said unlimited coffee jelly, I was in.
"You would join my Inquisition. They hunt down Jedi." I reached out with my telepathy and listened for thoughts of anybody that might concern what the Inquisition or Jedi might be.
'I'm so proud to be an Inquisitor. We kidnap children and kill them in front of their parents. We burn villages that contain Jedi. Mwahahaha.' That was convenient. I thought I would be faced with an ethical dilemma. Guess I won't join this Empire.
"I'm sorry, I don't kill children, or anybody in general."
The Emperor lifted his hands, and lightning streaked towards me. I teleported back down into Saiko's bunker, exchanging my clothing to make sure I wasn't tracked and transforming back into Saiki Kusuo when I entered the basement. I contacted Aiura and Toritsuka via telepathy: "There are psychics aboard those starships."
Saiki Kusuke watched with amazement as his ship was brought into the dock of the mass starship. So far, the greatest technology he had ever seen was always created by himself. But it seems, these aliens had surpassed even the great Dr. Saiki. His fellow travelers had their mouths open with undisguised awe. Kusuke guessed he couldn't blame them for once.
He observed the people. He should have said aliens, but except for one blue-skinned man, the entire population were human. Convergent evolution? Unlikely. The author was probably just being lazy. Kusuke ran his hand through his shaggy blond hair (thanks to his brother's meddling, blond hair was considered completely natural in Japan).
There appeared to be two leaders of the group: the blue-skinned man and the man with grey hair, blue eyes, and sharp cheekbones in a grey shirt.
"Welcome aboard the Star Destroyer Chimaera," said the blue-skinned man. "I am Grand Admiral Thrawn." And they appeared to be speaking English. The author must have been really lazy.
"And I am Governor Tarkin. Your planet falls under my jurisdiction."
"The Earth is a sovereign planet," said a monkey.
"We are aware that you have been isolated for some time. However, the rest of the galaxy has accepted the Galactic Empire, and so shall you," said Tarkin. "Your planet is in the Outer Rim, so it falls under my jurisdiction."
A grey-uniformed officer walked up to Grand Admiral Thrawn. They started talking and Thrawn nodded. "Our Emperor wishes to make a show of force. Turbolasers, fire upon the archipelago known as Japan."
The turbolasers started firing. Of course, the gunners had a stormtrooper's aim, and hit Korea, China, Taiwan, and Russia as well as Japan. This was the most destruction Kusuke had seen in his life, and he was all for it. He supposed he should be sad to see his homeland destroyed, but he hated his childhood in Japan, always second-best to his brother. Besides, he had left, alone, at 14 to go to college. At least they didn't hit Cambridge. The other members of the delegation sent nervous glances at Kusuke. He was the only Japanese person in the delegation. Giddy laughter erupted from his throat, oh how he loved strong weaponry! The smoke cleared off of East Asia, to reveal that Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Russia were unharmed.
"Fire again."
The process repeated itself. It appeared Kusuo was even more powerful than he had thought. And he thought Kusuo was omnipotent before. Kusuke was ecstatic. He had always wanted to test the limits of Kusuo's powers. Unfortunately, Japan frowned upon violence of any sort. They didn't even allow guns! Kusuke had always felt stifled in Japan. Maybe, if he joined the Empire, he could make weapons of mass destruction, shoot people, and finally win against Kusuo.
"That was unexpected," said Thrawn. Thrawn reached for his com to report his failure to the Emperor.
"What an impressive ship," said Kusuke. "May we go on a tour? Maybe we could bring back tales of the Empire's greatness to Earth." Kusuke hoped he could talk to Tarkin or Thrawn alone.
"An impressive ship? He just fired upon the Earth! We'll see you in intragalactic court," said the American delegate. The other delegates agreed. Stormtroopers fired upon the delegates. Well, that was easy.
