Chapter 8-

No ones POV-

Neither Tyler or Ash knew what to expect when Saturday came. Her mothers had gone, deciding to take a day for themselves and her father was never a bother. Technically they had the house to themselves but decided to go out.

Tyler took Ash to the local diner that she had yet to try. Tyler knew or was familiar with everyface currently there at the time. Cora came over to them with a smile and took their order.

"I'll have a cheeseburger, fries and sprite." Tyler said.

"Fried fish, fries and a pepsi please." Ash ordered since she wasn't in the mood for a salad and never liked burgers. Their food came in no time hot and good.

"So, how is it?" Tyler asked her as she took a bite of the fish.

"It's good. Could use some old bay but besides that it's great." She took another bite and then tossed a couple of fries in her mouth.

"I'm honestly kind of surprised you eat like this looking like that." He commented off-handley.

"It's not that hard if you have a balanced diet and mines is very equal." Not by my doing. "Plus when I used to dance I had a very unhealthy relationship with food so now I have learned to love food. Sometime it's still a struggle to feed myself and have an appetite but I get through it."

"Why was your relationship with food so unhealthy to begin with?"

Ash shrugged and decided to give some answers that sounded right. "Maybe I was always too focused on my dancing. Traveling up and down the east coast and overseas performing I just never learned that food could be anything other than sustenance. I still remember my days of thinking toast and sweet tea were a full meal." She focused on Tyler hearing him go quiet. "What?"

He shook his head. "Nothing. Just kind of interested in hearing you talk about what you used to do before coming here. You used to dance overseas?"

"Yeah. Got paid for it and made a healthy buck off of it. Then I took up photography and now it's kind of my job job. I get paid a lot for my work which Is why I rarely take any. Most of the time I'm just in it for the art."

"Man, I wish I was as passionate about something like that as you are."

"I'm sure you have something you're passionate about." Ash reassured him and took a sip of her drink.

Tyler shrugged dismissively, looking at his plate and playing with his fries. "I have basketball and sure I'm good but I don't know about great. When I imagine life after college it's all just kind of blank. I'll probably come back to forks with some degree and get a job working here." He looked resigned to his fate.

Ash didn't know what to do. Rarely had she ever had to comfort somebody and it was honestly her worst skill. She decided to move her plate and her body next to Tyler's and did something she normally wouldn't do. She interlocked her fingers with his that were on the table and said "You'll find your passion Tyler and I can see you being all happy about it and smiling like a goofball." He laughed. "You'll have it in your hands and hold it high and feel so content because you accomplished everything you've ever wanted."

They both went silent, Tyler feeling reassured and Ash almost afraid that she had scared him off. When he didn't pull his hand away and instead turned her hand over so he could hold it properly she felt warm in her chest.

They finished their meal up in their familiar silence, letting what wasn't said speak thousands of words that their mouths couldn't.

After eating they decided to go back to Ash's house. They went up to her bedroom and while Tyler could have used this opportunity to be nosy and get to know her without asking her, he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

A plain white tea and high waisted jeans that were no longer in fashion. She hadn;t worn any lipgloss or eyeliner today and he found it equally as attractive as if she did. Her braids were hanging loosely down her back. And on the rare chance he stood close enough to smell her, the smoky vanilla scent of her perfume intoxicated him.

"You're staring." Ash stated.

"So are you."

Ash couldn't help it. In the soft lighting of her room he looked so gorgeous. His brown skin was glowing with a graceful beauty and the lights made him look even more youthful. Not young but it took away the stresses of the day to day life of a teenager. She liked his hair the most, his curls looked so soft.

"Can I take a picture of you?" She asked him suddenly. Tyler readily agreed, he would say yes to anything she asked if she kept looking at him like that.

Ash got out her camera and adjusted it so. It was almost cliche the scene between them; her bedroom, them all alone except in those scenes the boy would usually be holding the camera and the girl would be blushing. But Ash wasn't a blusher and she was a great photographer.

"Sit on the bed and just be comfortable." Ash instructed him. He got on the bed and positioned himself easily. His back was against her headboard and his eyes, those dark chocolate eyes, were trying to dig into her soul. That warm feeling from earlier was turning up. There was a heat she had never felt before.

"Just" She pulled the camera up to her eye. "Keep looking at me."

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

A quick adjustment.

SNAP!

Tyler moved and got cozier in her bed. His scent would be left on her sheats. He could smell her even more now.

SNAP! SNAP!

Ash couldn't get enough. This scene was too good. Her other works were a cold beauty, a carefully orchestrated bewitchment in comparison to this amateurish mood and modeling. Even so there was something to be liked about how natural it was.

Tyler Crowley possessed a flame that added to her own. It stoked her flames, made her eyes soften and she wanted to give in to those inner desires she had given up for her parents sake. She set the camera on the desk before coming back to face Tyler. She moved and sat next to him on her bed.

There was so much to be said, the words would bring them closer. There was still space between them, still that barrier Ash kept up. She wanted to tear it down. For a second time since she got to Forks the world in her eyes was different from what she was supposed to see, it made more sense. This, here with Tyler, was so real it hurt.

"Can I kiss you?" She asked him. He nodded, staying completely still as Ash took the initiative. How could he know what she needed? How did he know to let her come to him?

A slow, feather light brush of the lips once. Twice. The third time there was a bit more pressure. Ash's hands now touched his shoulders, gripping and holding herself up. Tyler's hands came around her waist holding her preciously.

Ash leaned in and pressed on his lips more firmly. A proper kiss.

His lips are soft.

That was all she thought. She had been kissed and kissed before and each time she didn't care for it but this one left her feeling… something.

"Again." Her voice was a bare whisper. Tyler leaned in this time and slowly kissed her like a fairy tale. It was sweet.

He tasted good.

She smelled divine.

They were both warm and lost in their embrace. Ash couldn't pull away. Not from this, Not from him.

Without realizing it they both fell deeper into each other but that was a worry for tomorrow.

For today, they would kiss.

I have never written a kiss scene before, and it most certainly shows but whatever.
