A Day at the Pizzaplex

It was Saturday afternoon at the Pizzaplex. It was both Jeremy and Vanessa's day off. Normally, Jeremy would go someplace else on his day off. But today was Gregory's first visit to the Pizzaplex, since the security breach. Jeremy wanted everyone to have fun, so of course he tagged along. He was walking in the parking lot, under the hot sun. He wasn't wearing his uniform, instead he wore a button-down Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts, and his Detroit Tigers hat. If he had a mustache, he'd look like Tom Selleck's character from Magnum P.I.

Jeremy was relieved from the heat when he stepped inside. The air conditioning made him comfortable, since he was used to cooler weather. He took a moment to look through the sea of families, in search of Vanessa. She was next to a cutout of the mascots at the far right of the entrance. Gregory was holding her hand, then spotted Jeremy and waved. Vanessa did the same, and Jeremy walked over to the cutout. Gregory was wearing a t-shirt with the Pizzaplex logo, and khaki shorts. Vanessa wore the same shirt and jeans. He let go of Vanessa's hand, and hugged Jeremy.

"Hey Gregory, how've you been doing?"

He looked up with a smile. "I've been doing good, Jeremy. I can't wait to have fun!"

"I hope so," Jeremy said with a chuckle.

"Did you grab an entry pass, Jeremy?" Vanessa asked.

Jeremy shook his head, "Don't we get in for free because we work here?"

"Everyone gets in for free, but you still need an entry pass." Vanessa pointed to a gift box with a handle you spin around. "You can find one in there. Just spin the handle around, and it will pop open."

Jeremy walked over to the box and began to spin the handle. It played a music box melody and then the lid popped open. It did startle him a little, but it wasn't that bad. He reached inside and grabbed one of the many entry passes. Jeremy put the lid back on the box, and looked at Gregory.

"Where would you like to go first?"

Gregory thought for a moment. "I want to go bowling."

Jeremy and Vanessa nodded their heads. "Alright, I'll just tell Roxanne that we're here." He put his Roxwatch to his mouth. "Hey Roxanne, I just want to let you know Vanessa, Gregory and I are here."

"Oh that's great! Are you going to the raceway?"

"Actually, we're going bowling. Don't worry, we'll have our race eventually."

"And I'll be ready for it," she said confidently.

"I'll let you know when we're ready."

"Alright, see you there!" and they ended the call.

"Let's go bowling," Jeremy said.

The trio walked through the many families in the lobby. Eventually, they made it to one of the three elevators and ascended to their destination. When they got to the atrium, Jeremy was on the lookout for the map bot. He looked both directions, and didn't see anything. That was until he turned his head forward. The robot jumpscared him like the first time. Jeremy's heart skipped a beat, and he had to calm down.

"Hi, please take this map," it said in a robotic voice.

He became annoyed at the robot. "Fine, I'll take your map," he yanked out of the bot's hands. The robot wandered off to another group of guests. Vanessa and Gregory were trying not to laugh. Jeremy ignored them and they continued to the bowling alley.

Once the trio got to the bowling alley, they put on their shoes, and began to bowl. Jeremy and Vanessa were having a rough game. He got more gutter balls and splits than Gregory and Vanessa combined. Vanessa only did slightly better than Jeremy. Gregory was doing pretty well on his first game. He even got a couple of strikes. When all was said and done, Gregory won the game.

"Not bad for your first game, Gregory," Vanessa said.

"Good job, Gregory," Jeremy said while giving a high five.

"I can't believe I got two strikes in my first game!" he said in an excited voice.

"Want to play another game?" Jeremy asked.

Gregory nodded, and they started their second game. This time, it was a close game between the three. It was the tenth frame, and Vanessa was up first. She got ready, and rolled the ball in the center of the lane. It rolled to the left, only hitting half the pins. She grunted in frustration, and tried again. The ball hit all the pins, except for one in the corner.

"What? That should've fallen over!" Jeremy and Gregory nodded in agreement.

"My turn!" Gregory said. He positioned himself, and rolled the ball. It hit most of the pins, but it was a split. He facepalmed, and got ready for his second throw. He rolled the ball, and it hit only one pin. Him and Vanessa were now tied.

"You did your best, kiddo," Jeremy said to Gregory. Jeremy walked up and grabbed his ball. He lined up, closed his eyes, and rolled it. The ball went down the middle, and he got a strike. Which was the best possible outcome for Jeremy, because he'll still win. Jeremy did a little celebration dance, and the other two clapped in congratulation.

"Would you like to play one more game, or do something else?" Vanessa asked Gregory.

"I want to race with Roxanne and you guys."

"Alright, I'll let her know we're on our way." He put his watch to his mouth. "Hey Roxanne, we're on our way to the racetrack."

"Oh great, I'll be there in a few minutes."

Jeremy was excited that he's finally getting to race Roxanne. Although he never took go-karts seriously, he would still have fun trying to beat Roxanne. The trio changed shoes, and were on their way to the raceway. Going through the entrance made Jeremy feel nostalgic. He was used to the construction, but seeing everything complete made him feel satisfied. The raceway was still the same as the last time Jeremy was there. Only difference was there were people inside.

They walked down the stairs to wait in line. Since the track was designed to have many people race, it wouldn't take too long to get to the karts. Once it was their turn to get strapped inside the karts, Gregory was wondering where Roxanne was.

"Hey Jeremy, where's Roxanne?" Just then, the lights dimmed and Real Gone by Sheryl Crow (or the Cars intro song) played on the loudspeaker.

"I think you're about to see her, Gregory," Jeremy loudly said. And he was right.

On one side of the raceway, there was a shutter door and fog coming from a machine. The door opened and out came Roxanne in her racing jacket. The crowd cheered and started chanting "Roxy!" over and over. She started to jog with a checkered flag in her right paw. Once she got to the track, she gave the flag to an employee and gave everyone a high five while running. Roxanne got to her kart and did her hand sign. Everyone cheered again, and she got strapped.

The song faded out, and a red traffic light came on. Jeremy Turned his hat, and took some deep breaths. The light went from red, yellow and green. Everyone immediately put their feet on the gas and accelerated. As Jeremy focused on the racers in front, Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue played on the loudspeakers. Roxanne was ahead of everyone by a good margin. Jeremy couldn't believe how fast she really was, despite her being heavy. She was even drifting around the corners.

Jeremy focused and passed a few people, catching up to her. By the final lap, Jeremy was right behind her. Roxanne looked behind her and hit the gas. Jeremy did the same and was on her bumper. A corner was coming up and Roxanne was ready to drift. Jeremy turned to the right and started to drift. He got really close to the barrier and Roxanne. If he got any closer, they would've bumped into each other. Now the two were neck and neck to the finish line. They had their accelerators maxed out and neither were moving ahead of each other. They went across the finish line at the same time, it was a tie.

Roxanne was very surprised at how good Jeremy was at racing. She had some serious competition. Everyone pulled into the loading area and flocked to Roxanne. Although a normal person would hate being surrounded, she enjoyed every second of it. Roxanne was also very fast at signing autographs and taking photos. Eventually the crowd died down and Roxanne walked to the entrance she came out of. But before the door closed, she waved and blew a kiss towards the crowd. The crowd waved back and everything went back to normal.

"That was really something," Jeremy said.

"That entrance Roxanne did was amazing!" Gregory said, excited.

"Your racing was fantastic, Jeremy. Normally nobody can catch up to her," Vanessa said.

Jeremy gave a smirk, "I have a lot of skill."

Gregory felt his stomach growl from hunger. "I'm hungry, can we get some pizza?"

Vanessa looked at him, "Sure Gregory, I'm getting pretty hungry too."

"I'll join you," Jeremy said.

They walked back to the atrium, and ordered their pizza. Jeremy got the same meal he had with Roxanne. Gregory and Vanessa got different pizza flavors and drinks. They all ate their pizza with minimal talking, because they were so hungry. Moments later, Monty showed up next to their table.

"Well, if it isn't Vanessa and the new guy." He saw Gregory, and bent down to make eye contact. "What's your name, little fella?"

Gregory chewed and swallowed his pizza. "I'm Gregory, Vanessa's adopted son."

Monty gave a little laugh. "Vanessa, you never told me you had a kid."

"I did, Monty, you just forgot."

Monty thought for a moment, then realized she was right. "Oh yeah, you did. I think I should get myself checked out at parts and service."

"Well, what are you doing here, Monty?" Jeremy asked.

"Oh, I was just seeing how you guys were doing. Have you been to my attraction yet?"

"No, we just came back from Roxy Raceway," Jeremy said

"Well if you y'all come now, I'll be playing with ya," Monty said.

Vanessa looked at Gregory, "Do you want to play mini golf?" Gregory nodded.

"Sounds good to me," Jeremy said.

Monty smiled, "Excellent, I'll wait for you to finish, then it's time for some golf."

Jeremy, Vanessa, and Gregory finished eating their food, then followed Monty. Monty's Gator Golf looked exactly the same when Jeremy first saw it. The ball pit river, the gator animatronics snapping and 18 holes of mini golf. They walked to the little booth with the putters and balls. Monty grabbed everyone a putter and ball, then walked to the first hole.

He put his ball down, then aimed for the hole. He hit it, and it went in the first try. Monty did a little bow, while everyone else clapped.

"Would you like to go next, Little Dude?" Monty said.

"Sure," Gregory put his ball down, and aimed for the hole. He hit the ball, and it just barely missed. Gregory was a little disappointed, but he got it in the next shot.

"Good job, Gregory," Vanessa said.

"Your turn, Jeremy," Monty said.

Jeremy and Vanessa didn't get a hole in one like Monty. He played very well throughout the entire game. When it came to the last hole, Monty was ahead of everyone else. To Jeremy, it didn't matter if he won or not. It was relaxing, compared to go-karts. As expected, Monty won the game by a wide margin.

"Good game, Monty," Jeremy said.

"Yeah, you're awesome at mini-golf," Gregory said.

Monty gave a little laugh. "Y'all can come by the golf course any day."

"We will," Vanessa said.

They waved to the gator, then ascended to the atrium in the elevator.

When they arrived, the only attraction left was Fazer Blast. They agreed to use the restroom, then head to Fazer Blast. Gregory and Jeremy met Vanessa outside of the attraction, but they forgot one crucial item.

"Ahh crap, I don't have the party pass," Vanessa Groaned.

"I can take care of that, Officer Vanessa," a deep robotic voice sounded. Everyone turned their heads to see Freddy Fazbear, Chica and Roxanne.

"What are you guys doing here?" Jeremy asked.

"Roxanne informed me that you guys were here. So she, Chica and I wanted to play laser tag."

"Sounds good to me," Gregory said.

"Great, Superstar," Freddy said.

Everyone went inside the elevator to the laser tag arena. They all went inside the spaceship themed briefing room. A robot was giving instructions on how to play the game. You had to shoot other robots and capture bases. Then they got their blasters, while the animatronics had to wear special helmets. Jeremy, Freddy, and Chica were on the blue team. Gregory, Vanessa, and Roxanne were orange. Before the teams went into the tunnels, Roxanne said something to Jeremy.

"Ready to see me win?" she said with confidence.

"I hope your laser tag is as good as your racing," Jeremy said sarcastically.

"Oh you'll see," she said, squinting her eyes.

The teams went into their respective tunnels, and into the arena. There was a ten second countdown before the match started.

"Follow me, I know a way to the base," Freddy said. Jeremy and Chica followed Freddy to the base. Once they got there, Freddy pressed a button. A swarm of blaster robots came rolling towards the group. They shot the robots for about thirty seconds, before the base was captured.

"Good job, Space Cadets. Move on to the next base," a voice on the intercom said. A couple seconds later, Roxanne's team captured their base. Now there was only one left.

"C'mon, we can still make it," Freddy said.

When they got to the last base, Roxanne's team was already there, blasting robots.

'How did they get there so fast?' Jeremy questioned.

Freddy and Chica groaned when they saw her. "Now it's going to be difficult trying to capture the base," Chica squawked.

Jeremy hatched an idea. "You guys create a distraction, while I try to sneak up on them."

The two animatronics nodded and Jeremy walked to the base. He went behind a wall, then crept towards the target. Freddy and Chica were in front of Roxanne's team, shooting robots.

"Ha! You guys are about to lose!" Roxanne cheered.

Jeremy timed himself, and sprinted to the button. The countdown was already at five seconds. Now hyper focused on the button, he went behind Vanessa and Gregory. At the last possible second, he pressed it. Now his team had captured the base.

"Congratulations blue team. Please go to the winner's elevator to collect your prize."

Freddy, Chica, and Jeremy cheered, while the other team was in shock.

"Very clever, Jeremy," Roxanne said.

Gregory looked disappointed. "Hey Gregory, you can have whatever prize we won." he had an excited look on his face.

"Let's go, Superstar," Freddy said.

"Uh Freddy, I'd like to borrow Jeremy for a minute," Roxanne said.

"Okay, Roxy," Freddy said.

Freddy, Gregory, Chica, and Vanessa went up the elevator. Jeremy wondered what Roxanne wanted this time.

Roxanne put her arms behind her back, and gave a shy look. "Jeremy, I have something to tell you."

"Well, what is it?" Jeremy asked.

"I can't say it here. I want you to meet me on the roof at around midnight. When you work again of course."

'That's a rather specific time and place for a conversation. Maybe there's a good reason,' he thought. "Okay, sounds good to me."

She put her paws together, and her ears lowered. "It's a deal then." they returned their blasters, and exited Fazer Blast.

On the other side of the elevator, Gregory was holding a golden blaster.

"Look at what I got, Jeremy," he said happily.

"Now you have two blasters, Gregory," Jeremy said.

"He's going to have an arsenal at this rate, " Vanessa said.

Jeremy yawned, and looked on his watch. "I'd love to stay with you guys, but I'm gonna head home."

"Aww, can't you stay a little longer?" Gregory said, eyes widening.

"Maybe next time. I'll see you at work, Vanessa."

"You too, Jeremy."

Jeremy went through the crowd of families, and exited the Pizzaplex. It was a fun day for sure, even though he works there everyday. Once he got inside his car, he wondered what Roxanne wanted to tell him. But that answer would have to wait another day.

-Author's Notes-

Jeremy and the gang certainly did have a fun day at the Pizzaplex. At the end, Roxanne wanted to say something to Jeremy on the roof. What do you think she'll say to him? Find out next week on another adventure at the Pizzaplex.
