Penny (P.O.V)
Edward pulled into the driveway of the family home. I was beyond excited to see everyone again but I was also worried as Edward was still a bit stiff. I still had his hand in mine, I lightly started rubbing small circles on his cool hand.
"Do you need to hunt again?". I asked Edward worried.
"I think I should love. I think with your sister around it's going to have to be something I will require frequently". Edward said grimacing.
"Do you want me to go with you?" I asked as it wouldn't be the first time I have accompanied Edward on a hunt, I usually would wait up in a tree.
"Not today, why don't you just go inside see everyone I won't be long". Edward said kissing the back of my hand.
"Alright". I said smiling before opening the car door with an idea. My smile turned devious. "Big brother Emmett I'm home. What should be our first mission". I called out loudly hearing a strangling sound coming from behind me.
I was suddenly lifted off of the ground taken in the opposite direction. "Not happening". Edward voice called out before he suddenly leapt into the air, climbing up a tree. I laugh loudly as this was one of my favorite things to do with Edward, being completely Highup in the trees, looking over the horizon to see the different colors in the sky in the and the sea of trees that looked endless.
After our detour and Edward hunt, we made it back to the house with me on his back. "Why don't you trust me with Emmett?". I asked trying to look innocent, which Edward wasn't buying.
"I don't need to have the ability to read minds to know the two of you together is a sign for trouble especially when your mad at me". Edward said rolling his eyes as I pouted.
Edward pulled me into his arms, kissing my cheek with his cool lips, which means my pout turn into a smile. "Just because I love you doesn't mean I'm going to dignify that statement with an answer". I said before getting out of his arms and running towards the door.
I suddenly squealed as I was lifted off the ground again, I knew it wasn't Edward as his touch sent sparks down my body and I was held in larger arms. "Finally my partner in crime is back". Emmett's booming voice caused me to start laughing.
"Of course I'm back big brother I even have a new victim for our mischief. Hopefully Eddie the babysitter Vampire won't cause problems if he knows what's good for him". I said innocently as I whispered in Emmett ear knowing how to get under Edward skin.
"I give up". Edward said before walking into the house as me and Emmett started laughing.
"Follow my handsome mate Em". I said lightly padding Emmett on the back. "How do you think I can get Edward to loosen up more?". I question still on Emmett shoulder with my thinking face on.
"Sex?". Emmett said loudly. I hear a strangled noise from in the house. If Edward wasn't immortal he would be the first 17 year old with gray hairs already.
"No, I tried five different ways from Sunday to get him to crack not unless I say yes to the ring". I said waving away at the idea, unless I had to put more effort into it.
"Emmett put your sister down this instant". Esme voice called out from behind me as a light tapping of a heel repeated hit the floor.
I was instantly put back onto my feet, facing everyone, except for Carlisle who look like wasn't home. "Hey mama". I said walking towards Esme open arms. She always gave the best hugs.
"It's good to have you home sweetheart the family isn't the same without you around". Esme said as we pulled away.
"It feel great being home". I said smiling as when to hug me the rest of my siblings. "Hey Jaz did you finish the book I send?". I asked curiously of what he had done with the history book I sent a few weeks prior.
"It was interesting to read at the comparisons to some of the different wars". Jasper said slightly smiling. He was a big history guy having fought in the Civil War. He has a library with old books and I was lucky enough to find one in a old book shop in Phoenix.
"If you enjoying that book, Your going to want the one I have back at home. I'll give it to Edward when he drops me off it's a personal journal belonging to a civil war soldier". I said to which Jasper's eyes lit up.
"Alright, everyone will get to spend some time with Penelope but I don't want her food to get cold she must be hungry from her long flight". Esme said getting my attention instantly.
"Mama what did you make?". I asked my mouth already watering.
"I made your favorite". Esme said smiling.
"What are we waiting for the food of the gods...". I said before I stop myself at not seeing my mate. "Wait where's Edward?". I asked confused.
"Up in his music room he keeps muttering something about menaces and changing some locks". Rosalie said trying not to smile as I looked innocently. She rolled her eyes as Emmett looked sheepishly at her.
"Oh okay well I'll find his key sooner or later. I've missed my time with the sledgehammer and piano". I said wistfully before skipping into the kitchen laughter behind me. I always regretted what I did to his first piano, but I still got a kicker of seeing him sweat.
"Penny really keeps Edward on his toes". Alice commented as she giggled.
I smiled as it felt good to be back home with my family.
