Hi guys! A/N I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be going on a two week break as I am going on vacation. I promise to be back on the 20th of may! I hope you enjoy this chapter. Please feel free to leave your input in the comment!

I woke to the sound of gunshots and instantly I was wide awake, I shot up to a sitting position and instantly regretted it. My side throbbed and my shoulder screamed at me. I let out a pained groan and jumped as someone appeared beside me.

It was only Damian, I let out a sigh of relief and craned my neck to look at him better.

"What's going on?" I asked, Damian looked towards the door of the closet we were in and then turned back to me. "When I made it back to the checkpoint Grayson was already there. But a large group of the men attacked us. Grayson couldn't hold them all off and I couldn't fight well enough to protect the both of us. Grayson told me to run with you. I have already contacted the Justice League." He explained, my eyes widened as horrible thoughts went through my head.

Was Grayson alright? What about Raven, Garfield, Jaime, and Kori? Would the Justice League arrive in time to save us? I glanced down at my side, Damian had found some kind of cloth and wrapped it around my waist to stop the bleeding but my head was still a little foggy but I could manage.

I jumped as feet pounded by outside the door, Damian drew his sword and stared intently at the door. He kind of reminded me of a cat, distant and demanding but kind and comforting when someone truly needed it and I definitely needed it right now.

I didn't know if he would hank away but I carefully reached my hand out and threaded it into Damians. To say that he jumped was an understatement, he practically flew out of his skin. He whipped his head around to look at me and that's when I noticed the blush that went from his neck to his cheeks. It was cute.

I thought for a second he was going to yank his hand away and glare at me. But he didn't, he just sat there, staring at our hands and blushing. I think I might have broken him. But he gave me hand a gentle squeeze and smiled at me. I knew everything was going to be alright.

Not even thirty seconds later, someone kicked the door down. Damian sprung to his feet, pulling me along with him. The intruders advanced on us, weapons held high. Before Damian could do anything, I flung my hand out and sent a wave of fire so hot that it turned them to ash. I watched, horrified as their remains floated to the ground. I did that out of instinct, I killed them like it was second nature.

I brought my hand to my mouth as I gaped at what I had done. But Damian pulled my hand away and squeezed it gently. "It was them or us." He whispered, I nodded numbly.

Damian pulled me from the closet and ran down the hall, me in tow of course. We hid behind a wall as more men ran by. It seemed there were an infinite amount of them! For a long time, time that felt like hours we snuck through the tower as quietly and quickly as possible. We were only caught once and I had burned them to ashes too. Damian was right, it was them or us.

We rounded a corner and ran into the security room, where we knocked out four men, tied them up, and shoved them in the storage closet. As Damian finished up locking the door, I examined the cameras. They had captured Kori, Ravan, and Garfield. They had them tied up in the gym with at least thirty men positioned around them.

Damian came up behind me and I tried desperately not to blush as he stood over me. "Do you think we can free them by ourselves?" He asked, I looked at the camera's one more time before shrugging. "I don't think so. But we can try." I replied.

We left the security room and slowly made our way to the gym until we were only a few meters away. There were two guards posted outside the door, probably to deter any rescue attempts. But we were teenagers and teenagers are stupid.

Damian rushed the guards and took them out silently. I pulled them into a closet and locked the door after tying cloth around their mouths to keep them quiet. I looked to Damian and back at the door.

"One."

"Two."

"Three!"

We kicked the door down and rushed inside, Damina threw a smoke bomb that filled the room with a thick gray smoke. Someone rushed at me but I easily dispatched them and continued to work my way through the gym. I couldn't finally make out the shape of my friends when I was tackled to the ground.

I gasped as I slammed into the floor, I hissed as the impact jarred my shoulder. I wrestled with my attack for a few seconds before I smashed them in the side of the head with my fist.

I clambered to my feet and took a deep breath, fighting a wave of dizziness. I turned and was about to go to un-tie my friends when someone swung a large metal pipe and smacked me right in the face.

I fell hard and screamed as my nose crunched. I hit the floor and cradled my face, I felt someone hold something up to my nose. "This is the one right?" I heard an accented voice question, whatever they had put to my nose was making me dizzy and groggy. "Yeah, don't lose her. She's the main target." Another voice explained.

My vision swam as I was thrown over someone's shoulder. I felt cuffs click around my ankles and wrists. I tried to struggle but I could barely blink my eyes, let alone escape my kidnappers.

I couldn't go back to that place. I'd die if I went back there. I continued to try and struggle but I couldn't do anything. Damian promised they wouldn't take me again. I let a groan escape my life, if I could just yell for Damian!

"Damian…" I whispered, but my captures were already exiting the gym. There was no way Damian was going to see us through the thick fog. I worked up the strength to grab the door frame. I held on for dear life as the guy jolted to a stop.

"Damian." It was a little louder this time. I couldn't let them take me.

"Damian!"

The guy yanked my hand away from the door and continued down the hall. No. No. No. NO!

"DAMIAN!" I screamed, my voice was raw and the volume made my head spin. The two men sped up. "DAMIAN! DAMIAN HELP!" My voice was loud and echoed off the wall. I still couldn't move and Damian hadn't shown up yet. I could already see the front doors coming up.

-Damian POV-

Damian had just knocked another guard out when he heard it. A scream.

"DAMIAN!" There it was again. It was Hela.

"DAMIAN HELP ME!" She screamed it. Her loud tone did nothing to hide the fear that shook her voice. Damian instantly abandoned the guard who he was currently fighting and sprinted through the smoke. He didn't know exactly where the door was through all the smoke but he had a relative area.

It took him longer than he wanted to find the door, only to discover that they bolted it shut. Damian rammed his shoulder into the door as another scream rang through the tower "DAMIAN!" It was more of a beg than a scream for help.

He gave up trying to rame it open, he gripped his sword and shoved it through the door. He carved a large square in the door before slamming his whole body through it. The section gave way and he was now in the hallway.

He raced down the hall and took multiple turns before he finally saw her. She was flung over a man's shoulder, ankles and wrists bound. Tears streamed down her beautiful face as she sobbed.

"DAMIAN!" She screamed his name, fear ingrained into her blood shot eyes.

Damian ran down the hall and kicked the other man in the back before impaling him through the back. He swept Hela's chapters feet out from under him. Sending the man sprawling to the ground where he yanked Hela from the man's grip and sliced his throat.

-Hela's POV-

I was yanked from my captors arms and into a pair of strong arms. It was Damian, he kept his promise. He saved me. I buried my face in his neck and let out a relieved sob. He held me tightly as I clung to him and sobbed. They had come so close to taking me, so close.

Damian dropped his sword to the ground and cradled my head gently as he swept me up and carried me down the hall.

When he stepped into the gym, most of the smoke had cleared. Men were knocked out on the floor and our friends were already working on tying them up.

But I didn't want to think about anything other than Damian holding me and going to sleep. I gripped his shirt even tighter, my fingers digging into his chest. I wouldn't have been surprised if I ripped a hole with how tight I was holding onto him. I felt that if I let go then this would suddenly all become a dream. Damian didn't save me from those men and I was stuck inside a cell as they ran horrible experiments on me.

Damian sat down against the far gym wall when the Justice League arrived. Batman came over and talked with Damian for a little while, I didn't give any input. I only wanted to snuggle farther into Damian.

Damian. I could say his name all day. If he was the only person left on earth I would still be happy. He saved me and for that I would forever be grateful.

"Damian, what happened." Batman's voice drifted in through my blurred thoughts. Damian shifted, "We were attacked, father." He replied simply, Batman sighed. "I see you've become close to her." Batman said, his voice almost teasing.

Damian scoffed, "Nonsense."

"Do you care about her, Damian?" Batman asked, Damain seemed to freeze. His breath caught in his throat, his face heated up. "I-I don't know…" He admitted. Batman hummed.

"She's fragile, be careful with her." Batman said, I heard his footsteps slowly grow quieter as he walked away. Damian let out the longest sigh I had ever heard and started petting my hair.

I snuggled farther into his chest, hsi arm tightened around my legs. I never wanted him to let go of me. I wanted to stay here, right now, forever.

At some point I ended up drifting off to sleep.

I woke up with a jolt. I sprang upright and squinted as sunlight poured in through my window. My side only ached now and when I examined it, it was stitched up and bandaged, my shoulder too.

I was surprised to see Damian, asleep in a chair beside me. He had pulled my desk chair over and slept peacefully beside me. Only then did I realize that our fingers were laced together. My face heated as I laid back down and stared at the ceiling.

What had happened? Oh, that's right. We were attacked. Those men tried to take me. I cuddled Damian. Wait-I cuddled Damian! Damian stirred beside me and I quickly shut my eyes.

I felt him pull his hand away before the chair creaked and I pretended to stir awake. I looked over at him, his eyes were trained onto my face. I smiled gently at him. He didn't smile back.

"Sixteen hours. That's how long you've been asleep for." He explained, I blinked at him.

Sixteen hours?! Holy crap! I had been asleep for sixteen hours. I sat up and swung my legs over the side of the bed. Damian was instantly to his feet, with his arms out.

"The doctors said the medication to prevent infection would make you dizzy." He said, matter-of-factly. I nodded, stood slowly and boy was he right. I felt a wave of dizziness rush over me and I swayed back and forth.

Damian steadied me, I looked up at him and leaned towards him. I hugged him tightly.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." I whispered, Damian blinked at me. "For what?" He questioned, I let a miserable laugh escape my chapped lips. "For saving me, of course!" I exclaimed, I felt him shift before hugging me back. "I promised you they wouldn't take you, didn't I?" He questioned.

We hugged for what felt like hours but somehow when we pulled apart I still wanted more.

My door slid open, revealing Grayson and Kori. Grayson held a tray of food and Kori held medication. I gave them both a warm smile.

"What a crazy day, huh?" I chuckled, Kori broke into a laugh and Grayson smiled at me. "We brought you some food Damian, we would have brought you some to Hela, if we had known you were awake. " He said, with a pointed look at Damian. Damian rolled his eyes, "Just give it to her, I'm not that hungry." He grumbled, I smiled up at him. Causing his cheeks to pinken.

I sat back down on the bed as Grayson handed me food and Kori approached with the medication. "You'll have to take this medicine for a few days, to make sure your injuries don't get infected." She explained, she handed me the medicine. Which I gulped down with a glass of water.

I was also really hungry and couldn't help but dig into the food Grayson brought. He had brought toast, two sunny side up eggs, bacon, a pancake, and hashbrowns. Best food ever. Grayson and Kori left me to eat in peace, Damian refused to leave.

I ate the food in record time and was full when I finished. My eyes had started to droop and I couldn't deny that I was tired already. I looked over to Damian and noticed the dark bags that hung from his own eyes.

"Go get some rest Damian." I told him, Damian shook his head. "I'm fine. You're the one that needs to rest."

I rolled my eyes, "Fine. If you don't want to leave then join me. I like cuddles." I demanded, Damian's eyes widened and his cheeks once again darkened to a pleasant pink shade.

I scooched over and patted the bed. He glanced at me once more before kicking his shoes off and sliding under my covers. He laid down hesitantly and I instantly snuggled up against him.

After a few minutes I felt him relax and then a few more minutes and his breaths evened out. He was officially asleep. I rested my head on his chest and draped my arm over his stomach. Eventually I fell asleep too.

I woke up to the moon high in the sky and Damian wrapped around me. Sometime in my sleep I had turned and was now being spooned by Damian. I didn't mind, I actually liked it. We were two very different people but somehow we were drawn to each other.

When I woke up again it was morning and Damian was still sleeping behind me. I was surprised to see three figures looming over us. Jaime, Garfield, and Raven.

I smiled up at them and had to resist laughing when Garfield snapped a picture. Damian stirred and was horrified to find that we had an audience. He cursed them and fled the room quickly with the other two boys in tow, pestering him with questions.

Raven sat down at the foot of my bed and patted my foot. "How're you feeling?" She asked, I shrugged "I've been better honestly." I said truthfully. She smiled and stood.

"Do you feel like coming down for breakfast?" She asked, I smiled and nodded quickly. "You might have to help me." I explained, she nodded and helped me stand then guided me out of the room.

We made it down to the kitchen where everyone had gathered, Grayson smiled at me and plopped a large plate of waffles and bacon in front of me. I thanked him and lathered my waffles with lots of syrup.

I had a bumpy start here, but I couldn't be happier.
