The enemy did not have as good weapons as they had, but they new their their environment and the creatures in it.

While the recoms had their banshees, the enemy had much more creatures which were better adapted in the combat within an aquatic environment. Plus that tulkun changed the game.

Quartich was still on the rock near the Three Brothers, wet and freezing from being so long underwater. Cupcake, his banshee, was with him, but he did not know where the others were.

Ja had been knocked away by the tulkun, so he did not know if her was still alive.

Lopez had been killed by Sully's wife while riding his banshee.

He lost contact with Prager and Zdinarsk during the battle on the sinking SeaDragon.

He also had no idea where Wainfleet and Mansk were.

"Let's go find other survivors" Quraitch spoke to Cupcake and mounted her.

He flew across the rocks of the Three Brothers and soon saw some humans and recoms on a rock, alongside some banshee.

Quaritch landed and saw about a dozen survivors. Wainfleet and Mansk were among, the latter having lost his his shades. Ja was in the background, being tended by serving member of the SeaDragon. Next to him laid Mick Scoresby, former captain of the SeaDragon and missing, who was also being tended by a crew member. SeaBiologist Dr. Ian Garvin had also survived. The rest were crew members who names Quartich did not know.

"Lyle is this all?"

"Yeah, this all" Wainfleet replied.

"Prager and Zdinarsk are dead" Mansk stated. "Saw their corpses in water. Sully and his wife were ruthless with them"

"We thought we had lost Ja as well, but his banshee rescued him" Wainfleet continued. "They saved us as well"

"Loyal creatures" Quaritch stated. "Has someone already called Bridgehead?"

"Yes, Colonel" stated one of the crew. "They're sending a Dragon Assault Ship to pick us up"

"Captain Scoresby and Recom Ja are somewhat stable now, but they better hurry" stated another crew.

"Good to know" Quaritch replied. Ardmore would have his head.

They didn't think like na'vi, and that's why they lost, again.

I just had to save another recom, and Ja's death was unclear. You could argue he just knocked away, like Wainfleet and Mansk.
