As Shinji and Connor walked to the headquarters of the Machinery Hivemind. Shinji observed his partner.
He had black hair is slicked back and neatly combed, falling just above his shoulders. His brown eyes are deep and penetrating. He wore a black coat giving him a refined and dignified appearance. Every step he took it was with confidence.
Feeling someone looking at him Connor turned towards Shinji. "So Edward which pathway are you from?"
Continuing to walk shinji was cautious of revealing information about himself.
Seeing his expression Connor Chuckled. "Don't worry if I wanted to kill you I would have found your pathway and sequence from the Archives. Well if you want trust then I am a sequence 8 Archeologists."
Sighing Shinji looked around to make sure that no one was listening. "Sequence 9 mystery pyrer."
Laughing Connor said. "See that wasn't hard. Now that we are partners. What made you consume the beyonder potion."
"I accidentally drank mine." Connor Continued
Thinking about it why did shinji drink the beyonder potion. He recalled his last memory from before coming to this world. Him silently following sakura to her training even though the worm had forbidden him to do so. The moment he saw what was happening to her he had actually felt scared of what was happening to her. Yet that concern turned onto anger and jealousy after the worm told him that he was never talented in Magecraft and how he would be replaced as the heir to the family.
Yet now that he had power and with the increased memory and calm emotions. Did he really want to become the heir to the matou family. The fifteen years he had spent in his house would probably be worst then the month he spent here even though he was constantly hearing voices. He only felt at anger and rage at the worm. No what he wanted now was to advance his sequence to kill the old worm. To show him that he wasn't a weak Little boy. He would make him scream as he slowly killed the old worm.
As he thought his face morphed into a scowl as he replied. "To prove a point."
Shaking his head to clear it. Shinji looked at Connor and asked."So did you find anything valuable or something that links this case to others."
Shaking his head Connor "No, the only I thing I found was that the people were either neglected by their parents or friends."
As they continued to talk they entered the headquarters to the machinery Hivemind. Quickly making way to the office of Ikanser Bernard they summarized all they found. Like how they found a ritual magic circle and a book about it. And how it had a ritual magic that might have transported Sophia Williams to the spirit world.
Bernard leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "We need to gather more information about this ritual magic circle and figure out who might be behind it. I'll Mireille look into it further, but in the meantime, I suggest the two of you continue your investigation. See if you can find any more leads, any more clues."
Shinji and Connor nodded in agreement before turning to leave the room. As they walked down the hall, Shinji couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. They had made some progress in their investigation, but it still felt like they were missing something important.
"What do you think, Connor?" he asked, his voice low.
Connor sighed, rubbing a hand through his black hair. "I don't know, man. This whole thing is starting to feel like a dead end. Maybe we should try a different approach. But the day is ending let's meet again tomorrow at the archives."
Nodding Shinji left to go back to his appartment to rest. As he reached his appartment he was making his dinner when Shinji began to feel a strange sensation in his head. It was as if something was drilling into his skull, causing him intense pain.
Shinji clenched his fists as he tried to ignore the pain, but it only grew worse. The voice was getting louder and more insistent, like a thousand needles piercing his brain.
He stumbled, his vision blurring as the pain became unbearable. He fell down to the floor as his food also fell. Shinji could barely anything over the noise in his head.
The voice was getting louder and more intense, drowning out all other sounds. It was like someone was screaming directly into his ear. The pain was becoming too much for him to bear, and he could feel his consciousness slipping away.
Shinji tried to fight it, but the pain was too great.
As Shinji lay on the ground, writhing in pain, he realized something was terribly wrong. It wasn't just the voice that was causing him such agony. It was as if something was being inserted into his mind, knowledge being forced upon him in the worst possible way.
He could feel his brain being stretched to its limits, the pain becoming more intense with each passing moment. It was like his head was going to explode, and he couldn't escape it.
The voice was a constant presence in his mind, but now he was aware of something else. A flood of information that was being pushed into his brain without his consent. It was like he was being forced to absorb knowledge at an alarming rate.
Shinji realized that this was the worst possible way to learn anything. The pain was so intense that he couldn't focus on anything else, and he knew that whatever knowledge he was being given was being absorbed in a chaotic and disorganized way.
He tried to resist, to push back against the flood of information, but it was no use. The pain was too great, and he felt as if he was being crushed under the weight of it all.
He felt helpless, trapped in his own mind as the pain continued to wash over him in waves. And then, finally, it all became too much.
Shinji's consciousness slipped away once again, overwhelmed by the pain and the flood of information that was being forced upon him.
When Shinji regained consciousness, he was lying on the ground, his body wracked with pain. He could still hear the voice in his head, but it was quieter now, a distant echo.
Looking out the window from his appartment he see the light of the sun. Was he unconscious for that long?
