Hey this is Chapter Four of Power Of The Gods. I know I forgot to mention this in earlier chapters, but I'm going to be changing the voice for Naruto. While I like his original voice actor in both Sub and Dub, they wouldn't work for this story. For the Sub, the voice actor will be Yuki Kaji, and the Dub will be Bryce Papenbrook. I know what you're thinking, "Those are the voice actors for Eren Jaeger!" Yes it is, this change was done for a purpose that will not be disclosed at this time. Let me know what you think of the change, and let me know your guess on why it was changed.

I honestly want more fan interaction, so ask me questions about my story and I will answer them with the answer that gives away the least amount of information. Let's head to my second favorite part, besides writing, responding to the reviews.

Racan - Glad you enjoyed it, hope you stay along for the ride, it'll get more interesting as it goes on I promise. And I'm glad you like the idea of having Anko and Kakashi train him. I can't have Anko be like a sister to Naruto, and not have him get extra training on the side by her, whenever she has time at least. As the chapters go on and on, I'll be going in depth with the Otsutsuki race more. Some will be canon, but, because there is so little info on them, most of it will be headcanon.

With that done let's get on with this chapter. Hope you guys enjoy it, I enjoyed writing it.

Disclaimer - I don't own any Naruto or Boruto characters/elements.

First Battles

Naruto Uzumaki was bored as hell. He thought his very first real mission was going to be the most exciting adventure ever. He would be tasked to protect a princess from a gang of thugs trying to kill her. Then he'd rescue her and beat the shit out of the thugs, all the while Sasuke would admit how much cooler he is and how he's a greater shinobi than he would ever be. Sakura would admit her love for him and they'd go on several dates afterwards. And then Old-Man Hokage would give up his seat and make him the Godaime Hokage.

But nope! He's stuck guarding an old drunk who doesn't like any of them. I mean he called him a chibi for Kami's sake. He could understand him calling Sasuke an emo-duck because seriously, who styles their hair like the shape of a duck's ass. But the worst offense was calling Sakura a flower, insulting her power. Sure she may not be the strongest kunoichi in their class, but she wasn't as weak as a damn flower. Come to think of it, how come he didn't call Kakashi any names!? He's just as weird, if not weirder, than them.

Shacking his head, he continued onward with him in front, Sasuke and Sakura to the left of Tazuna, and Kakashi behind him. Looking around for any sights of danger, his eyes come across a puddle. Looking back at it brought back a memory of when he was a little kid. It was pouring down rain and he wasn't anywhere near his house, luckily his Nee-San was close so he went to her house and spent time together, playing games and joking around all throughout the night until the next day when it stopped raining.

Thinking about his Nee-San, Naruto thought to himself about how lucky he was with having her as a big sister figure. Sure she may be crude and mean at times, but if you get past all that you find a person who's afraid to get rejected by the people she knows and loves. I mean, some of her friends left her when she came back from being used as an experiment for Orochimaru for something called a 'Curse Mark,' whatever that is, she still haven't shown him her Curse Mark. She still has a couple of friends, like Hana, Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi. Looking back, she's been spending more and more time with Hana as of late. Maybe they've gotten close as friends?

So lost in his thought, Naruto didn't notice the people poke their head out of the puddle after they passed it, until it was too late. Broken out of his thoughts by Sakura screaming about their sensei, he looked behind and found their sensei wrapped in chains getting squeezed to death, until they pulled clean through his body, effectively killing him. With Naruto and Sakura being stopped in their tracks after watching their sensei being killed right in front of their eyes, it was Sasuke who sprung into action against the two Ninja.

Rushing at the two Ninja, Sasuke throws a shuriken between the two, locking the chain connecting the two ninja into the tree. Sasuke lands on the gauntlets that are connected to the chain, kicking the heads of the opposing ninja in the head. Although it looked like this might be the end of the battle, the gauntlets are severed from the chain, letting the opposing ninja go on their separate ways and attack. One went towards Tazuna, who was being guarded by Sakura, and the other went towards Naruto, who saw him just standing there and decided that he was easy pickings.

'Kuso! Move damn it!' Naruto thought. Even though he tried to, he couldn't will his body to move, to shaken up after seeing his sensei dying. He might've been a lazy sensei, but damn he was still a fellow Leaf Shinobi. He would die here, as a coward who did nothing in his life. Just a little kid who screamed nonsense, someone who wrote checks his ass couldn't cash. He would never be able to become Hokage, he would never get the ability to raise a family, preferably with Sakura-Chan. He would die all alone in the most pain-

"Move you imbecile. lest you want to die. I hope not."

He was broken out of his inner rambling by the voice in his head, by Isshiki. Getting a hold of himself, he grabbed a kunai out of the pouch on his right leg. He was just barely able to bring it up to stop himself from getting beheaded by the ninja coming towards him. Struggling against him, he swiped his legs trying to get the ninja to trip, unfortunately, he saw through it and jumped over it. Thinking quick on his legs, he rolled under him, span, and as soon as the ninja landed the kunai was jammed straight through his neck. Gritting his teeth, Naruto swiped it through his neck, leaving a big indent in the neck, and allowing blood to spray on him and everywhere else.

Calming down from his adrenaline high, Naruto finally had the image of a dead man in front of him, as well as his bloody kunai, shoot through his mind. Letting everything catch up to him, Naruto felt his entire body go numb. He dropped the kunai and fell to his knees, feeling something rising from his stomach and flowing to his throat. He tried to keep the vomit from leaving his mouth, he really did, but as soon as he felt a hand on his shoulder and saw it was his sensei's hand. He couldn't stop it from coming, and he released everything from his mouth that rose up.

After throwing up, Naruto wiped his mouth and stood. He gave a nod of thanks towards Kakashi and walked towards his teammates. Sakura gave him a look of worry, she obviously never killed anyone before, but she heard that it was supposed to be incredibly hard on you after your first kill. She put her hand on his shoulder and squeezed it, trying to convey to him that she's here if he needs her. And she was, she may have hated him for his foolishness earlier, but she's gotten used to his flamboyant attitude. Plus, he took her on a surprisingly good date the other day. So that added to her liking of him.

Sasuke didn't show it, but his respect for Naruto went up. He wasn't even trying to kill the ninja, just incapacitate them. The fact that Naruto was able to go through with killing the ninja, was amazing. Thinking about the way Naruto killed the ninja brought up old memories. When he was six-years old, a man tried to kidnap him along with the Hyuga heiress, Hinata. The way Naruto killed the ninja, was the same way Itachi killed the kidnapper. Feeling memories from that night creep their way up, Sasuke shook his, dispelling them. He shouldn't be thinking about him.

Kakashi was done interrogating the other ninja. It turns out, those two were Gozu and Meizu, the Demon Brothers. He knew something was up when he saw the puddle, Konoha doesn't get much rain, it was the second least rainiest Great Village, being in front of only Suna. While what he learned was concerning, his mind wasn't focused on that. He was concerned about Naruto and the seal containing the Nine-Tails. He didn't know too much about the seal, only that it reacted to heightened emotions, and with Naruto going through with his first kill...he didn't want to take any risks.

That's not to say he only cared about Naruto as a weapon. He saw him as a potential little brother, that's what would've happened if his sensei wasn't dead. If his sensei was alive then... Kakashi shook his head clear of his thoughts. It wouldn't do well thinking about what ifs. While Naruto could be a little brother, it didn't change the fact that if he lost control of the seal, then he would protect the village at all costs. The last he had to deal with that kind of situation, he let out a little shudder when he thought back to what happened.

Walking up to Tazuna, Kakashi spoke, "Alright Tazuna, you have some explaining to do. This was supposed to be a simple C-Rank mission with only bandits being the possible enemy. But instead of bandits, we were attacked by former B-Rank Chunin from Kirigakure. They were known for being one of the most formidable one-two combos from Kiri. So, with that being said, tell me. Why did you lie to us about the mission rank? Why did you lie and put my entire Genin squad at risk? If it wasn't for their quick thinking, all of them could've been killed."

Even though he was hesitant to do so, Tazuna sighed, and finally relented, "You see, my village has been..." While he told Kakashi about his desperate situation, Naruto was caught up in the fact that he not only killed a man. But he also got help from that bastard Isshiki. It was actually kind of nice, but Naruto remembers what he said while he was talking to both him and Kyuubi. "If you kill him, we both die." The bastard probably only helped because he was at risk of dying as well. Just because he helped him, doesn't mean that Naruto trusted him, he remembers the last time he trusted someone, just to find out that trust was misplaced.

Naruto was pulled out of his thoughts by Sakura's voice, "Sensei, we have to continue the mission! We can't just let their village be destroyed by the man Gatou. We have to do it! We just have to!" Apparently Kakashi said that they couldn't continue the mission for one reason or another, probably because it was too dangerous. But, even if that was the case, no mission is a problem for the Great Naruto Uzumaki! Even if an S-Rank shinobi popped up, he could take him down. If he can take a former Chunin, then...

The image of the man's cold eyes popped up in his mind again. The lack of life in his eyes made Naruto nervous so much, he felt like throwing up yet again. He wanted nothing more than to get another chance at that opportunity to only incapacitate him. He didn't want to kill him, it's just that in that moment it was either kill or be killed. At least, that's what Anko-Nee said that's what it is. He supposed that was right in a way, he didn't want not only him to die, but he didn't want his dreams to die right then and there. On the other hand, he had to kill him, if he didn't then the old drunk, Sakura, and, as much as he didn't want to admit it, Sasuke as well.

Looking at his students, his gaze lingers on Naruto, Kakashi sighs and agrees to go ahead with the mission. He ties Meizu to the tree, lets him stay there to be picked up by a Konoha ANBU, and seals Gozu's body in a scroll. They continue on the path as planned, not knowing just how much this decision would change the fate of the very world they live in. All the while, they were being watched by a masked figure, their eyes not seen, but behind the mask, they were tracking Naruto's movement. When Kakashi turned his head backwards, all he saw was the body of Meizu tied to the tree.

Nagato was a prideful human being. He believed himself to be a god, and for good reason. The unstoppable rain inside of Ame was stopped by a mere flick of his wrist, due to the legendary Dojutsu, the Rinnegan. The Rinnegan was the supposed eye of the Sage of Six Paths, it was said that with the Sage's eyes, one could create another Moon. Just like the Sage did all those years ago. How one could be so powerful, he didn't know. That was until he gained the very same eyes as him, the sheer power the Rinnegan held was immeasurable.

But that wasn't on his mind right now. No, what he was thinking about was how to make the world into a non-violent one. He had the idea, he just needed to figure out how to go about bringing those ideas alive. His idea was brilliant, it was a perfect way to get rid of this Cycle of Hatred that they are stuck in, until the end of time. That is until he stops this cycle. Only a God could do so. Only one with such a strong will could do something as big as he dreamed of doing so. Only someone with the power of the Sage could do it. His plan was to-

SLAM

Jolted from his thoughts, Nagato looked behind him to see his childhood friend Konan. She looked tired, and looked like she could use a shower, with all the dirt she had on her. Part of her clothes were provocative, showing the underside of her generous cleavage. While Nagato was tempted to look at her breast, he quickly remembered Yahiko, and the special relationship he and Konan had before his unfortunate passing by his own hands. Nagato still got visions from that day, his hand sticking through his lifelong friends chest, blood splattering onto his clothes.

Shaking his head, Nagato turns his focus back to Konan, and speaks, "Konan, I see you're back early. Tell me, how was the mission? I hope it went exactly as we wanted it to go."

Konan nodded her head and replied, "Yes, Kusa has agreed to merge villages. Making Oto the last of the Minor Villages to do so merge with Ame. Though they shouldn't be too difficult to...convince them to join our cause soon."

Nagato nodded his head in approval, "Good, when we finally assimilate Oto into our village, that should propel us into the strength of the Major Villages. We may be already as strong as Suna, the weakest of the Great Five, but I don't wish to fail and never get the opportunity to apply to become a part of the Great Five again," Nagato stood and walked towards Konan. When he nears her, he grabs her in a hug and whispers, "We're so close Konan. Peace is within our grasp, we just have to hold out for a little longer. Then, that peace will come and reward us for our efforts with a great life."

Not being able to say anything, Konan just nods her head and hugs him back just as tight as he hugs her. All the while, the continuous rain goes on forever, never stopping until a change is done to the world, lest it be for the greater good, or the greater evil. No one will ever know, at least for a little while longer they won't know.

Naruto and the rest of Team 7 were in Namigakure, walking towards the bridge builders house. The tension was palpable due to the heavy mist, that got thicker and thicker as they walked deeper into the village. They stopped, however, when Naruto threw a kunai at a bush all of them stopped walking and waited, wanting to see what might happen. However, when Naruto went to check it out, it turns out that it was a bunny all along. Feeling bad about scaring it, Naruto hugged it to his chest screaming apologies towards it.

Sakura, however, didn't think his apologies were enough, "You idiot! Look at the poor thing, you scared it half to death! Come here boy, let momma take you away from the mean old Naruto." Weirdly enough, the bunny...hissed...and snuggled deeper into Naruto. Sakura had a shocked look on her face, while Naruto looked at her with the smuggest face. Just as he was about to speak, he was pulled down by Kakashi who sensed the large sword coming towards them at breakneck speed. The large sword wedges itself into the tree with a loud thunk.

After a few moments, a towering figure lands on the Kakashi doesn't show it, he's surprised by who exactly the man is. He was nearly as strong as him, a former member of the Seven Swordsman of Kiri. He was-

"Zabuza Mamochi, I'm surprised to see you here." The man, now named Zabuza, turned around and smirked at Kakashi.

"Kakashi Hatake, to think you would take on some brats. Seems you've become soft-hearted from the last time we met." Zabuza and Kakashi stare at each, tension building, until they jump into action. Naruto and his fellow Genin watch the battle ensue, all the while never knowing just how much this battle will change their characters.
