As Naruto and Kid Flash continued to race around the fence that surrounded Happy Harbor High Artemis was leaning against said fence's opening as she watched over the new Superboy. She currently was looking back at the young clone with disbelief.
"You're serious?" she asked skeptically.
"Please I wish I wasn't," Superboy said as he watched the red and yellow streaks of his friend and the other redhead speedster making their laps. "Ever since the creepy old gnome retired from mainstream supervillainy he's been operating his business on his Island fortress outside the south of Santa Prisca."
Artemis processed the conversation she just had with Superboy before recapping it, "Ok so hypothetically speaking if I wanted superpowers bad enough. all I'd have to do is go see this Doctor Savana guy… have sex with him and he'd make me as powerful as Wonder Woman?"
Superboy lowered his shades as he looked Artemis in the eyes, "As long as your over eighteen and not a virgin that's basically it, this guy doesn't really have any standards except for those two."
He pushed his glasses back up and went back to watch the supersonic foot race as the wind around them was starting to pick up. "And he only has those two rules because when he's getting his pipe serviced, he wants his client to do all the work for him so he can just lay back and enjoy it."
Artemis watched the two streaks Naruto and Kid Flash were making as their respective light trails begin to fuse making one streak of orange rush around them.
"…So, what does Doctor Savana look like?"
"Think if Gollum and a Steve Buscemi played Legolas from Lord of the Rings had a baby but that baby was smashed in the face with an ugly hammer for the sin of already being born ugly…"
Artemis grimaced as her imagination put together what the mad doctor would look like and immediately thought the price for superpowers from the guy wasn't worth it.
It was then a beeping sound came from Superboy's jacket pocket. Rummaging around his leather outerwear the Boy of Steel pulled out a small black and orange device that looked like a smartphone but without a screen.
"What is that?" Artemis asked as the small device seemed to beep endlessly. "Some kind of gadget that lets you know when you're striking out with a Babe?" she asked with a coy brow.
Superboy pressed a few non-existing buttons on the small machine and said, "Your loss Babe, no this is the Orphan Box, it's more than a gadget. If Gods made smartphones that were alive? This would be way beyond that!"
"Gods?"
"Yeah," Superboy seemed to be able to decipher the different beeps that Orphan Box was giving out to him as he looked back and forth between the box and the two speedsters. "I'm not talking about the old gods that hang out with Wonder Woman but the New Gods who live in the Fourth World."
The beeping from Orphan Box immediately stopped as it just gave a small, "beeep!" before going silent as the orange trail of light began to shoot off random sparks and branches of lightning. As if my instinct or super sense, Superboy immediately jumped in front of one strike of lightning, taking a brute force from the energy as he seemingly saved Artemis' life from the hit that was heading for her.
As he was thrown back, damaging the school's fence, Artemis rushed to his side as she slid down and gently held the thunderstruck boy in her arms. "Hey Superboy, are you alright?!"
With the Orphan Box still in his hands Superboy held it up as the wind and lighting Naruto and Kid Flash were unleashing to suddenly vanish as a backdraft of wind blew past the two teenagers on the ground.
Slowly helping Superboy up the young man let out a groan, "Oh great Naruto must have tapped into too much of the Speed Force's energy again!" Shaking the Orphan Box like it was a magic eight ball he added, "His biorhythms are out of sink with the current timeline!"
"...wait are you saying he and Kid Flash...traveled back in time?!"
Superboy despite his injury from the blast let out a small laugh as he said, "Wow a beautiful Babe with a brain I think I might fall in love with you yet."
Mount Justice
September 08, 11:04 EDT…..Eight Years Later
On the beach that rested on the foothill of Mount Justice Dick Grayson slowly made his way towards where his friends were enjoying some sun.
With two pairs of super-suits resting in his arms, he walked over to where Conner and Artemis were lounging on their respective beach towels. Conner was sitting watching three of their latest recruits exploring the beach on their own while he listened to a sports podcast. And Artemis was laying down resting her head on her hand as she read from her book.
Turning off his phone Conner was the first to alert the three newbies to bring it in, "gather up!"
Artemis turned her head up to see Dick standing above her as she commented on what was in his arms, "Oh, someone's come bearing gifts."
"I think I love gifts…" one of the new recruits an amnestic young person who for the time being settled on the name Violet placed a hand under their chin as they thought for a second in inquiry. "…yes, I do love gifts!" they exclaimed as they softly slammed a fist in their other hand in recollection.
"Yes super-suits," Dick stated as he threw the first one at the colorfully named rookie, "one for you Violet."
In an instant, Violet's eyes glowed red as a same-colored light shield blocked the suit from touching the rookie as it fell to the ground. "Sorry supersuit!" Violet said to the garment, "Sorry."
"And one for you Brion," Dick said as he threw the other suit at the disposed Prince of Markovia. The muscular red-haired young man grabbed the suit and held it upon closer examination.
Violet was about to make a comment on the new gifts when the rookie suddenly looked over to their right, past the third recruit who didn't need a special suit, the Bug from New Genesis, Forager.
The red humanoid bug let out a clicking noise as he too looked over in the direction from where Violet was looking, "Forager thinks something is coming!" the Bug quickly put on a red helmet that looked like his head with red tinted shades, "A big something!"
A few sparks of gold electricity seemed to be coming out of nowhere as the wind around the discharged energy picked up.
"Everyone, get back!" Dick instructed as he and the rest of his team listened to his warning as more lightning and a heavier breeze blew around the area a few feet away from them.
It was then the air and open space around the electricity seemed to invert as a blue portal opened in front of the young heroes.
"Is that a from Boom Tube?" Artemis asked both Conner and Forager as they were the ones that she knew of that had the most experience with the teleportation tech from either New Genesis or its darker half.
Before Conner could answer thanks to his advanced sight, he could make out a shape slowly coming out from the portal, a familiar shape! His mouth hung open and his eyes blinked just to make sure that it wasn't a trick of some kind.
"I…I don't believe it?!"
He quickly looked away from the portal and at his two oldest friends as he knew how strongly they would react to who he thought was coming out of the other side of the light.
"D…Dick, Artemis…"
Both looked at Conner a bit worried at the face the clone of Superman was making as he pointed out at the portal. "It's….it's…"
Kid Flash emerged from the portal as he ran towards the others at a slowing down pace. Coming to a full stop and kicking up some sand along the way the teenage speedster leaned down at his knees as he desperately tried to catch his breath.
"Oh man that was fast!" he said as he formed a fist and burped into it, "I was really motoring back there." The red-haired speedster was about to fall over when Dick came to his side and held the young hero up by the arm.
Letting Kid lean on him, Dick looked back at the speedster with both wonder and turmoil about what was going on right now.
Kid Flash meanwhile managed to find his footing as he stood back up, "Thanks pal for a second I…" As Kid looked back at Dick, he took a few steps back to get a better look at the taller older guy. "Do…do I know you; you look…."
"W…Wally?"
Kid Flash immediately when on the defensive as he looked around the beach noticing that for one it was light out and two there was some kind of freaky bug guy standing a few feet away from him.
"Ok look buddy I don't know how you know that name but…" Looking back at Dick and seeing him almost look like he was on the verge of tears made something click in Kid's mind. Taking a better look at the older guy in disbelief Kid Flash said out loud. "Wait a second…R..Robin?"
That was all it took for Dick to embrace the confused speedster as he held on tight to him, "WALLY!"
Using what energy, he had left Wally broke away from the hug and looked back at what appeared to be an older version of his best friend, "Dude since when did you get taller than me?!"
Looking at the older group of people that he'd run into Kid Flash recognized another face, "Superboy?" seeing that the Boy of Steel not really changing all that much from the last time Kid saw him he pointed at Dick and asked the clone, "What the heck happened in Philadelphia that made Robin into a huge muscular giant?"
Conner managed not to be taken in at the sudden return of one of their fallen as he was busy using his Microvision to analyze if that was really Wally West in front of him and not a replication of any kind of mystic or scientific origin.
"Philadelphia?" On closer inspection, Conner could tell that this Kid Flash was slightly younger than the last time that he'd seen the speedster. "Are you talking about the Fog Mission? W...Wally that was over eight years ago."
"…. Eight years!" Kid exclaimed as he grabbed the sides of his head in shock. "This can't be real, this can't be happening, but it is happening because the sun's out, Robin's turned into a male model, and…" it was then Kid looked over to Conner's right at saw a beautiful woman looking back at him.
The blond hair tied in a familiar ponytail and those honey-colored eyes looking back at him made his heart let him know who the breath-talking woman was as she stood there, tears in her eyes as she held her hands over her mouth while she wept.
"…New girl?" When Kid recognized her as an older version of Roy's replacement, he couldn't find the words to rebate her. Instead, he ogled at how in eight years the girl he begrudgingly had to admit was cute, growing up to be one of the most stunning women he'd ever seen in his whole life.
"…W…Wally?" Artemis could barely get the name out as she fell to her knees looking back at the younger boy.
Conner came to her aid and held her up as they both looked back at the ghost from their past, as Kid held out his hand towards the two of them. "What's…. what's going…"
But before he could ask any more questions a battle cry roared from where the portal once was.
"Dynamic Entry!"
Time slowed down for Kid as it flashed by an instant for everyone else. As Kid looked at the source of the cry for battle, he was immediately rewarded by a kick in the face. Kid Flash could feel the sole of the shoe slowly pressing into the side of his face as his body lifted off the ground and spun around in the air.
Naruto stood on the spot Kid was standing in as he held his arms up in glory as he watched the masked hero's body spiral like a football before it crashed down on the nearby sand away from everyone else.
"I win!" Holding his arms up Naruto blinked as he looked around the new people surrounding him and at the sun that seemed to be in the sky now. "…Opps."
"Oops?!" Kid managed to find the strength to rise up, spit out a handful of sand, and run back over to Naruto as he angrily stared his opponent down, "What do you mean oops?!"
Rubbing the back of his head Naruto let out a small nervous laugh and explained, "I must have tapped into too much energy from the Speed Force again and it sent us into the future."
"The Speed Force?" Kid Flash asked as he ran his hand over the spittle of blood coming out of his mouth after the sand, "What's the Speed Force?"
Naruto looked back at Kid Flash a little shocked before he let out another laugh, "You don't know what the Speed Force is?" He asked as he pointed at Kid, "No wonder you're so slow!" Naruto said childishly as he held his sides to keep from falling over.
Having watched from the side Artemis held her hand out and called out for Wally only for the spiky redhead to ignore her cries as he was goateed in by Naruto's comment.
"I'll show you who's the slow one!" Kid lowered his goggles and took off in a flash as he unleashed a furry of punches at Naruto.
The spiky-haired blond meanwhile just closed his eyes and calmly blocked and redirected each punch, swatting away the young hero's fists like they were nothing.
With one final jab Naruto managed to spin around Kid and kick him right in the ass causing the yellow-suited speedster to tumble and fall face-first into the sand... again.
"Face it Banana Boy," Naruto said slowly as he pointed his thumb at himself. "The Flash and that old guy in the metal hat might have their good days but when it comes right down to it, me and my dad are the fastest ones there is!"
Having stayed out of the fight Violet looked over towards Brion and asked the former prince, "Do you think we should help Banana Boy?"
"My name's not Banana Boy!" Kid Flash said loudly as he got back up. "Look blondie haven't you ever heard of the butterfly effect; you change one thing in the past it causes ripples in the future!"
Naruto didn't seem all that worried as he just looked at Kid Flash with a dull look, "What do butterflies have to do with anything?" Naruto asked as he looked over at Forager, "Do you mean that giant cockroach?"
"Forager is not a cockroach!" the red alien said offended by Naruto's comment. "Forager is Forager!"
Naruto clapped his hands in apology as he gave Forager a slight bow, "I'm sorry Shell Head I didn't mean to make you mad."
"That is all right," the Bug said as he shook his helmeted head, "but Forager is still Forager!"
"I'm talking about changes to the timeline!" Kid angrily shouted in frustration, "If we really did time travel even to the future the ripple will affect the past, future, and every other direction of time!"
"Wait just stop for a second!" Dick held up his hands as he stood in front of both Wally and Naruto. "Could you two explain what you're doing here…in this time period?"
"Why are you mad at me?" Naruto asked as he pointed at Kid, "It's his fault we're even here in the first place, he bad-mouthed my dad!"
"Your dad?" Dick asked as he tried to solve this mystery. "Who's your father and more importantly who are you?"
"He's the son of a supervillain that's who he is!" Kid said as he swept his arm across the air in front of him dramatically. "Your dad is responsible for nearly every crime committed in Central City in the last two years!"
Naruto gritted his teeth as he squeezed his fists.
"The papers gave him every name they could think of," Kid went on. "The Reverse Flash, Zoom, Johnny Quick!"
Naruto's anger quickly subsided as he looked over at everyone else on the beach and added, "Ok that last one's new and it's the stupidest one the Daily Planet ever thought of."
"But the name that manages to stick the most is the Yellow Flash…"
"That one does not seem so bad," Brion stated with his arms folded mildly interested in the fight between the two speedsters.
"…The Death Racer!" Kid finished as he spat the words out with venom.
"Oh," Brion nervously rubbed his arm and said, "Nev…never mind."
"Shut UP!"
Naruto's scream seemed to cause a small boom of gust in its wake, "I don't care what anyone says!" he pointed out at Kid Flash, "I don't care what you say!" Naruto formed his hand into another fist and aimed it right at Kid Flash, "You don't know what my dad lost, what we both lost! Even though the whole world thinks he's a villain, my dad is my hero, and if you say anything bad about him around me…"
Naruto's fist began to shake from the vibrations of his super speed as a few sparks of Speed Force energy radiated from it, "…I'LL KILL YOU MYSELF AND THROW YOUR CORPSE INTO THE SOURCE WA…"
The yellow-haired speedster didn't finish his declaration of war as he was stopped short by a strong slap to the face courtesy of an angry Artemis.
Letting go of his built-up might in his hand Naruto immediately held his aching cheek as he looked up at the slightly taller older woman as she stared him down herself.
Violet placed their hands over their mouth in shock, Brion was surprised that the speedster didn't doge that hit but then again hell have no fury and all, and Forager just let out a few clicks before he ducked into his ball stance as he peeked his head out a little bit.
"Don't ever threaten Wally around me…" Artemis said in a low voice as she looked back into the stunned Naruto's eyes. "Past, present or…." She couldn't find the strength she once had in anger to say future as Artemis left her own threat hanging in the air.
Kid Flash saw through his eyes as just the teams not needed new recruit stand up for him too strongly, "What happens in eight years that makes her care about me so much?" he asked no one in particular.
The older Robin looked back at him even through his mask and sunglasses Kid could tell that he'd never seen the Robin of his own time ever look at him with such regrettable eyes, "…a lot."
The sound of whirling wind and electrical discharge picked up again as the portal that had brought the two speedsters into the future opened as two new faces flew out of it.
The other Superboy came flying out of the portal with a younger Artemis in his hands as he gently placed her down next to Kid Flash and he flew straight up as he hovered in the air next to Naruto.
"Oh, dude your dad's going to tear you a new one when he finds out you time-traveled again," Superboy said as he saw Naruto holding onto his cheek, "Hey man what happened to your…Hello!"
Superboy's train of thought switched back to Babes as he pushed Naruto out of the saw and slowly panned over to the older Artemis.
The older archer was so astonished by the boy wearing Superman's shield and flying next to her that she couldn't really find the words to ask, what the hell?!
The Boy of Steel, on the other hand, had no problem lowering his round shades and making it obvious that his supervision was aimed at the dark sports bra that the older Artemis was wearing for beachwear. "Wow check it out Artemis!" he shouted over towards the younger counterpart. "In a couple of years from now it looks like you graduate from C class to double D class!"
The younger Artemis looked back at the older Artemis with awe as she looked down at her own modest chest and held her hands out to where they looked like they grew in the next few years. She then slyly looked over at Kid and said, "Looks like you better be nicer to me from now on."
Artemis the elder…but not by much placed her hands on her hips and asked, "Who are you supposed to be?!" at the flying Superboy.
"You don't know who he is?" the younger Artemis asked as she placed her hands down and matched with a hip pose of herself, "I thought this was supposed to be the future?"
"It's not," Naruto said as he got up and held Superboy in a headlock, "the vibrations of this Earth are off by ours; I think we just went to a nearby parallel Earth that's just a few years ahead of ours."
"Are you talking about multiverse theory now!" Kid shouted as he placed his hair on his head trying to not pull his red locks out. "This I don't…. what the hell happened I just wanted a Beach Day today not break the laws of reality!"
Even with Naruto's arm around his neck the flying Superboy managed to get out a few words of his own, "Hey if you two losers are done with your super pissing contest can we go back to our own Earth now?" He broke away from Naruto as he floated and held up his Orphan Box in his hand. "Orphan Box says it can take us back when we're ready...and I want to see if I can score a date with that Green Martian Babe!"
Violet immediately ran over to Superboy as they looked at the box in excitement, "I think…I think I know this Mother Box!"
"Not Mother Box, Babe!" Superboy explained as he let the beautiful dark-skinned Babe take a closer look. "This is Orphan Box Naruto's old man made it for me out of the corpse of Gonzo the Mechanical Bastard when he tried to take over my friend Bozo the Iron Man!"
A few beeps from Orphan Box made Violet bow their head at the box and say, "Sorry Orphan Box I didn't mean to insult you."
"You're...are you...another clone?" it was then Conner got a good look at the Superboy flying in the air as he stood in front of him.
Superboy on the other hand did his best to look down at Conner and say, "Oh so you're the other Superboy I've heard about…the defect."
Conner narrowed his eyes but years of both training and being around his friends had soothed the temper the chip on his shoulder clone had since he'd emerged from his pod.
"That's enough Chris," Naruto said as he pulled Superboy's leg and pulled it down getting the clone to now look up at his some kind of brother. "Let's just get back to our Earth."
Conner lessened his steely resolve at hearing the other Superboy's apparent name, "Your name's Chris?"
"Yeah!" Chris said as he stared down Conner, "I named myself after my other friend Christopher Chance!" the pint-size powerhouse said as he pointed at himself, "You got a problem with that?!"
"No, no," Conner said defensively as he held his hand out, "My name's Conner."
Superboy looked at Conner's hand for a second before turning his frown upside down and smiling up at him, "Ah get in here bro!" before he hugged Conner around his chest.
Taken a bit by surprise Conner gave him a small hug back before Superboy flew in front of him to match him at eye level.
"Ok Bro you, me, Superbabes we split a plate of hot wings, and the waitress where totally going to finger bang out in the parking lot afterward!"
Even on this Earth Conner recognized the female superhero-themed sports bar that some of his other friends had been to before but after hearing the rest of Chris' plans he immediately looked at Naruto with an angry and disappointed look.
"Don't look at me!' Naruto said with his hands up not wanting to get smacked again, "I'm not the one who programmed his learning chamber, it was Dr. Sivana!"
"Sivana?!" Dick shouted as he did a double take on the name. "Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, he's still alive?"
"In our world he is," Naruto shrugged. "He's still running his side business of selling his old supervillain carp and giving people powers if they ride on his boney old corpse."
"I don't believe it," Dick said as he ran his hair over his dark hair. "Based on the League data he's been dead in our world for...wait what?!"
"Yeah, yeah the nerdy supervillain gives out superpowers for sex I went over this already." Superboy stated as he held a thoughtful expression before turning into a winey one. "so what we're not going to Superbabes?" Superboy asked as he looked around, "Oh well let's head back and I'll take the other Conner from our world/timeline there instead!" as he was about to take off Chris looked back at Naruto, "Unless you're not done bitch slapping Kid Flash around."
"Just wait a second!" Kid zoomed passed teen Artemis and Dick and stood before Naruto. The blond speedster raised his hands not yet charging them with speed as his blue eyes panned at the elder Artemis and was weary of getting another slap of his own again.
"Just Wait," Kid Flash looked like he was calling a time-out as he turned toward adult Artemis and said something that took the older woman by surprise. "In this world, this timeline…I died, didn't I?"
The bigger-breasted Artemis' silence managed to speak volumes as Wally, ever the jokester pointed at Naruto and replied, "Please tell me that it wasn't this guy who manages to rub me out."
"EW!" Naruto cried out in disgust, "I'm not rubbing anything of yours!" he shouted out before pointing at Dick. "Even if I swung that way it be with that beautiful man over there!"
"I can see that," Superboy said as he rubbed his chin. "Like if I took him from behind and just pictured that dude as a handsome muscular Babe I think I could do it."
Dick looked around but noticed Naruto and the other Superboy were talking about him he scratched the back of his head not finding a way to process this. "Ah thank you?"
Teen Artemis walked past Dick and cheeked out his rear bumper before telling him, "Yeah I can see it too, you have fuck boy righten all over your pretty face." Before Dick could respond to that statement teen Artemis looked over at her older self and added, "Hey future alternate me, please tell me you're breaking off a piece of this?"
The older Artemis ignored the teenage vibes of her younger self as she looked down at the slightly shorter Wally and hesitantly placed a hand on his shoulder. Touching this younger shadow of her love, just knowing that it was real made her want to hold on and never let go…but she knew deep in her heart that this wasn't her Wally.
"You…the other you my..er our Wally gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the world, he was the best out of all of us and was a real hero."
Wally looked back at the older woman and blinked as another obvious fact finally clicked in his mind, "And you and him…you were close?"
The older Artemis didn't want to say anything that might spook this ghost in front of her so she answered with a small smile, "You could say that…we had a dog together."
Kid Flash let out a nervous laugh as he looked back at the teen Artemis behind him, "You know this must be an alternate Earth if you and I ever end up together let alone raise a dog together!"
"Yeah right," Artemis said as she pointed out at Conner and Dick, "If this is what I have to look forward to in the future I'm glad I have options." Taking one last look at Dick she winked at him and added, "Who knew that the Boy Wonder grows up to be such a Wonder Boy?"
"Please leave," Dick said evenly as he rubbed his tired brow. "Not to sound rude but if you guys are really from an alternate Earth and there are other Earths out there it'd be best for you all to get out of here before any of the League's enemies found out and tried to take advantage of the situation."
"All right let's head back!" Superboy shouted as he flew over toward the portal's previous location. As he flew past Violet he blinked at the young hero and made call me gesture with his hands before landing in front of the hole between worlds.
Raising his Orphan Box, it bleeped and managed to open a Boom Tube that was red instead of its usual yellow glow.
"I…I won't hurt him," Naruto slowly said as he looked over at the older Artemis. "I was mad and didn't really mean what I said." As the older woman just stood there Naruto responded back with, "I'll just give him a wedgie or something the next time he runs his mouth like that."
"I can live with that," the older Artemis said as she leaned over and gently kissed Kid Flash on his costume-covered forehead.
When she pulled back and the young man was at a loss for words, she gave him some of her own. "You're going to grow up to be a fine man, Wally. Just try not to write too many checks that cute little tush of yours can't cash."
As Kid dazedly walked back towards the portal he bumped into the Artemis of his Earth. The two teens looked at each other before Artemis brought him out of his stupor.
"I hope you enjoyed that because that's the only kiss you're ever going to get from me on this or any other Earth."
That managed to bring Kid Flash back down to Earth as he shook his head, "whatever obviously we're from the Earth where I end up with M'gann!" he said arrogantly as he headed over towards Superboy.
Naruto walked up to teen Artemis as he rubbed the place where the older Artemis had stuck him, "Remind me not to make you angry." He stated as he smiled at the archer, "You have a pretty good left hook."
Teen Artemis looked over at her older self and then at Naruto before jokingly and slowly making a fist and gently pressing it on the yellow-haired speedster's cheek. "And don't you forget it, Light Bright."
The younger Artemis nodded over to her older self and asked the question that had been on her mind since she saw her older self. "You probably can't tell me this but, on this Earth, it happens don't it, I make the team?"
"There are so many things that I want to tell you, "A quick look from Dick and Conner convinced the older Artemis not to for the sake of spoilers. "But I think you need to make your own mistakes if anything let me say this. Superboy he's your White Rabbit, right?"
It was something that Artemis had never said out loud and was a shared secret between the two counterparties. "Let's just say there is more than one way to go down the rabbit hole and stumble into your Wonder Land."
"...Was that supposed to come out as a sexy metaphor?" the teen Artemis asked with a raised brow, "because it sounds like some time from where I'm at now to when I get to you that my life turns out like that X-rated version of that Alice in Wonderland movie dad rented for us by mistake the one time he was halfway decent during our childhood."
"What no!" the older Artemis said as she shook her head, "I'm saying that while your sights are set on just Superboy you might miss out on going out with some guys you actually have something in common with."
The older Artemis looked back at Wally who looked like he wanted to swipe Superboy's Orphan Box but only to keep missing as the Boy of Steel managed to outmaneuver him. Even if it was just by a few months if that Wally suffered the same fate as Her's, then she wanted at least some version of herself to have more time with the speedster.
The young Artemis however misinterpreted this as she looked over at Naruto, someone who also had a supervillain-like dad but didn't seem like he wanted to go down his footsteps and branch out on his own.
Naruto's eyes caught Artemis' staring at his as he smiled and zoomed over toward her and took the young archer in his arms.
"Ok, next stop helping you heroes stop the League of Shadows!" and with that, the yellow speedster left a gust of sand in his wake as he ran right into the portal leaving Superboy and Kid Flash behind.
"Oh yeah foot race!" Superboy jumped onto Kid Flash's back and used his legs to kick the speedster in his sides. "Ya mush!"
"Ow!" Kid winched when he felt Superboy's boot heels dig into him as he ran into the portal just to try and shake the clone off into the World Between Worlds just to lose him.
The Boy of Steel's voice echoed out of the portal as it closed in on itself, "See you later Bro I hope the other you is just as cool!"
The original occupants of the beach alone again Dick was the first one to break the silence by getting everyone's attention. "I… sorry everyone I have to cancel today's training. I have so many things I need to report on from all of this."
Conner walked over to Artemis and placed a hand on her shoulder, placing her own hand over his the remaining and only clone of Superman on this Earth asked the young woman, "Are…are you going to be alright?"
Smiling at her friend she hugged him for a second and said, "I…I think in some way I got the closure I was looking for…but Superboy…" pulling away from Conner a thought that was now in her mind finally managed to work out of her lips.
"If there are other Earth's out there….do you think…there's a Wally that lost his Artemis like how I lost him?"
