All over, Ruby could hear screaming. She turned, and saw Jacques, with her father on a stretcher.

"Now, come with me, or your father gets it."

"No! RUBY, DON'T!"

They then disappeared, and Ruby heard a voice say, "Why?"

She turned to see Summer stabbed in the stomach, and bleeding out.

"Why didn't you save us?" asked Summer.

MOM! NO!

Ruby then charged, only for Summer to get pulled away, and Salem appearing.

"You can't save them. They will die. You know everything, right? Then you know, I am unstoppable!"

Ruby then screamed, and punched right through the chest of Salem. Only when she looked again, it wasn't Salem. It was Yang.

Yang!?

"Why?" asked Yang, "I thought you loved me."

No! No! I-

Ruby then appeared in a lab, in a tank, and Jacques and Salem smirked at her.

"Begin the procedure," said Jacques.

A switch was flipped, and Ruby was being shocked, and she screamed in pain.

Ruby woke up, and looked around. She was in Beacon.

It was just a dream, she said.

She quietly got up, not to disturb her sister and the others, and she headed out to do some quick training.

She went into the training gym, and pulled up some punching bags, and she set to work on her punches.

Ruby closed her eyes, and focused her energy. She then heard her father's words echoing in her mind.

"You may not have born like us, but you're still a person. Don't let what people say get to you. Be your own person Ruby. If you believe, the sky's the limit."

Ruby then opened her eyes, and used an Aura Technique known as Close Combat. While effective, it lowers the defense she has. Ruby's also been working on improving so her defense doesn't go down too much.

As she trained, she caught the eye of a certain redhead just preparing for some training.

She watched from a far, and saw Ruby then use her tail as a whip, and then she unleashed a Shadow Ball, punching a hole right through the bag!

Ruby stopped, and panted, feeling the rage disappear, and exhaustion coming over her.

"That was impressive," said a voice.

Ruby looked to see the redhead had been watching her. The intruder wore bronze armor, and had her hair in a ponytail, and emerald green eyes.

"I've never seen an attack like that," she said.

It's called Shadow Ball, said Ruby, Only I can use that move.

"You're her, aren't you?" asked the Redhead, "From the legends, Mewtwo."

That is not my name! snapped Ruby, That is the name, of an experiment. I am Ruby Rose.

"Something happen?" asked the redhead.

Ruby studied Pyrrha, and looked in her memories, and could see she was trustworthy.

My mother couldn't have a baby, said Ruby, So, she and my dad enticed the help of Atlas to create me. However, someone had interfered because the military wouldn't fund his project to create a Mew clone. And so, the scientist were bribed, and I was created like this.

I'm half Human, Half Faunus. 100% science freak.

"Hey, just because you were born different, doesn't mean you're not a person," said the redhead, "You are your own person. Don't let the past get to you."

Thanks Pyrrha, said Ruby, I'm Ruby.

"Oh," said Pyrrha, looking a bit glum, "You know me?"

Only through your memories. I never really watched the Mistral Tournament. And, I get it. I was wanted in the White Fang because of what I was, not who. You would not believe the number of Faunus that ended up in traction after meeting me.

Pyrrha looked at Ruby, and asked, "You... really don't care about my reputation?"

No, and I can see you want to be just a regular person. So, how about we be friends? Fresh start?

Pyrrha smiled, "I'd love that."

You wanna see some other moves? asked Ruby.

"As in a spar?"

Yeah, a spar.

Pyrrha smiled, and said, "I would love that."

Soon, the two were in the arena, and set a timer.

Last one standing, or until time runs out, said Ruby.

Pyrrha nodded, and the bell rang.

Ruby took charge, and grabbed Pyrrha's weapons from her hands, and went for a punch, only for Pyrrha to summon her shield back.

Polarity, huh? asked Ruby, Comes in handy.

"Yes it does," said Pyrrha, "So, what now?"

Ruby then used Shadow Ball, and Pyrrha blocked, leaving her legs open, which Ruby pulled out from her.

Pyrrha quickly dodge rolled, and Ruby slammed her tail on the ground.

Pyrrha then slashed at Ruby, only for her to use Counter.

Pyrrha looked at her Aura, and saw she as at 67%.

That was Counter, said Ruby, If struck, it deals back twice the damage. Learned that from my sister.

Pyrrha then threw her shield, and Ruby grabbed it with Psychic, and threw it back at Pyrrha, followed by a direct hit from Shadow Ball.

The two then started exchanging blows, and Ruby then used a Psychic blow to knock Pyrrha back, and deplete her Aura.

Ruby walked up to her, and helped heal her.

Good match, said Ruby, 15 seconds to spar.

"You are very impressive," said Pyrrha, "I hope I could learn some of those Aura Techniques?"

If you want, said Ruby, I started since I was 10.

"Wow, that's a long time."

I know, but you get the hang of it.

Just then, Ruby got a text from Yang.

That's my sis. She wants to know where I am.

She replied, and Yang was in a sigh of relief.

We should get something to eat quick, said Ruby, Can't start initiation on an empty stomach.

As they walked, the two chatted away like old friends.

And this school year, had a lot in store for Ruby.
