It was Saturday morning, so Ochaco didn't bother moving when she woke up. Instead, she kept her eyes closed, listened to Katsuki's heartbeat and matched his even, slow breathing with her own.
Eventually, he shifted and his heartbeat quickened, so she knew he was awake. His arms tightened around her. Slowly, he laid his head on hers.
Her face heated up.
Neither of them moved for a long time. A few people came into the common area and then left but they all whispered. Ochaco suppressed a giggle at the thought of them being scared to wake him up, when she already knew he was awake.
Katsuki's stomach rumbled, and then she really did laugh.
"Shut up," he grumbled.
"Me or your stomach?" Ochaco giggled, looking up at him.
He opened one eye to glare at her. "You're both annoying."
She slid off his lap, wrapped the blanket tighter around herself, and walked toward the kitchen area. "What do you want for breakfast?" she asked him. "I think I want eggs and cereal."
"Whatever," he leaned back on the couch, pulling a leg up and closing his eyes. Ochaco giggled again and pulled an icepack out of the freezer. She made it float over to him, right above his head, and then dropped it on his already purple nose.
Katsuki's strangled yelp made everyone stare. Ochaco just laughed.
"BITCH! I don't need a fucking stupid icepack!" He threw it directly at her face with an explosion, and she caught it easily, activating her quirk as she forced it to slow down with her hand. He fumed and stood up, limping slightly still.
"No, I think you need three, last time I checked," she replied sweetly, cracking five eggs into a skillet and adding some salt and pepper. That's how he always ate them at breakfast.
He flicked her in the shoulder hard, right where he'd left a gigantic bruise during their spar two nights ago. She winced, then stuck her tongue out at him.
"So what's our team name going to be?" she asked, setting a plate and bowl in front of him and filling them up. His face turned a little red as he looked at the food.
"Team Murder," he said with an air of finality, shoving a pile of eggs into his mouth.
She stared back at him. "No."
The whole common area abruptly went silent. Katsuki stared at her.
"Team Explosion Murder."
"No."
"Bitch! Then what do you want it to be?"
She smiled and clenched her fists, eyes bright with determination.
"Destruction."
Katsuki smirked and turned to face the rest of the class, most of whom looked like they were frozen in a state of complete shock.
"You hear that, assholes?" he yelled. "Team Destruction is gonna murder you," he cackled wildly.
Kirishima was the first one to recover. He jabbed a finger at Bakugo. "Well Acidfall is gonna MELT you! Just wait!" Ashido blushed.
Iida looked at Aoyama. "W-we, won't lose!" he shouted. "We need a name," he whispered to Aoyama hurriedly.
Aoyama sparkled. "Team Sparkle! I must shine!"
Iida clenched his teeth and looked at Bakugo. "We will beat you to the finish line," he said seriously. Then his eyes widened. "As Finish Line!" he added awkwardly. Aoyama stopped sparkling and sulked.
"Ooh! We're Team Invasion!" Hagakure jumped up and down excitedly. Koda blushed beside her and didn't say anything.
Mineta opened his mouth, but started trembling as soon as Bakugo turned his glare on him. "We're Sticky Trap," Shoji said, sighing.
Kaminari punched the air from where he stood beside Jiro. "You all better get ready for us, Thunderstorm!"
Tsu and Ojiro looked at each other and shrugged. "Front Line," he said.
Yayorozu glanced at Sato, who grinned. "Sugarcrush."
Todoroki stood next to Tokoyami, looking bored. "We're Twilight," Tokoyami said. "Get ready."
Deku was standing near Sero. His eyes were on Bakugo and Uraraka the entire time. "We're Takedown," he said quietly.
Iida straightened his glasses as he stood up. "The teachers put us in these pairs because they believe these are the strongest teams possible for each of us in this class. So let's do our best!"
"YEAH!" the class cried together.
"Let's go train," Bakugo said, standing up as he finished his breakfast.
"Actually, I promised my parents I'd go see them today," Ochaco smiled apologetically. He glowered at her. "We're already ahead of our classmates in training together, at least a little bit," she said.
His scowl lessened, but not by much.
"Would you want to come with me?" she asked, looking a little nervous. "I don't mind, if you don't have any-"
"Fine," he cut her off and stalked to his room.
"Oh," she said quietly, wide eyes staring at his back. Then she blushed. What could she possibly be thinking?! Why would Bakugo want to-
Katsuki.
She still hadn't called him that out loud yet, but the way he said her name was stuck in her head.
"Ochaco."
She quickly texted her parents that a friend would be coming with her today and went to get ready.
