"Harry?"

Harry turned round and then blinked when he saw Draco Malfoy walking towards him. When he'd brought Teddy out to the park that morning, Draco had been the last person Harry would ever have expected to run into. Especially considering that, the last he knew, Draco wasn't even in the country.

"Hey," he said, smiling a little shakily. "I didn't know you were back."

"I only got back last week," Draco replied with a fond smile tilting his lips. "I was going to contact you once I got myself situated so we could catch up."

Harry nodded, turning his head to watch his godson playing on the small climbing frame that was specifically for the younger kids. Teddy was only four. Old enough that he didn't need Harry standing right beside him to keep hold of him, but not yet old enough for the bigger climbing frame that he often sent longing looks at.

"I heard he's living with you now?"

Harry glanced back at Draco and nodded once more. "Yeah. Andromeda… She died two years ago. Dragon Pox. She didn't go to the hospital in time for them to help her."

It had been tough for Harry to take Teddy on full time. He'd been barely nineteen himself, and he hadn't felt even remotely prepared for a baby full time.

"I'm sorry for your loss."

"She was your aunt," Harry pointed out softly.

Draco shook his head. "I didn't really know her. Not like you did, anyway. So how have you been?"

"Busy," Harry replied. "Between Teddy and working, I've barely got a minute to myself these days. I wouldn't change anything though."

"No?"

"No."

"Right. Well. I should… I should get on. I was meant to be going for a run, so."

Harry frowned and looked at Draco to see him watching Harry with despondent eyes. "What's wrong?"

"I… I'm being stupid," Draco replied, looking away. "I just… it feels like you wouldn't change us breaking up and I'm not sure what to do with that because I regret it everyday."

"Did you get what you needed from travelling?" Harry asked.

Draco nodded. "I… yeah. Yeah, I did."

"Then I don't regret it," Harry said, soft but firm. "Not because I haven't missed you, because I have, but if you'd stayed for me, you'd have resented me, Draco. I wouldn't want that for either of us."

"I know you're right," Draco replied, huffing out a small laugh. "But it doesn't make it any easier. I don't suppose you're, uh, still single?"

"I am actually. But…"

"But?"

"The reasons we broke up haven't changed, Draco. I have a kid—and I have a kid even more than I had a kid when he spent half of the week with Andromeda. I have him full time now, and you want… freedom. I can't give you that."

"I think I've had enough freedom," Draco pointed out. "I travelled for a year, Harry. I'm ready to come home."

"Hawwy?" A little hand tugged at Harry's jacket. "Push on the swing?"

"Sure, Ted." Harry reached down to offer Teddy his hand and then looked back at Draco. "Think about it, before you make a decision, okay? This… I come with Teddy now, or not at all. You need to know it's what you want. Owl me."

Draco smiled at him and nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "I will."
