A/N: ok so I know it has been MONTHS since I last updated….i know it doesn't justify the delay but I started working and I have a 10 hour shift, so basically I had no time to complete this story. So this is it; the final chapter.

Epilogue II

In the west wing of the Malfoy manor, a man stood beside the window looking at the gardens where the wedding was to take place. He could see the tents, the aisle decorated with flowers and several house elves directing the guests to their tables. This was it; the day had come when he would marry the woman he loved.

Draco Malfoy took a deep breath, turned from the window and walked to the table that had a letter on it. He had already read the letter and it somehow bothered him that he couldn't get it out of his mind. The letter had arrived an hour ago with a small over excited owl; Ron weasley's owl.

The letter had been an insight in Ronald weasley's mind. One would ask what Ron wanted now? From what the letter said, he only wanted Hermione's happiness. He had apologised about all the hurt that he had caused Hermione and had confessed that he had witnessed everything that had happened in the Nott gardens. He had explained how he hadn't realised till then, how much he had hurt Hermione. He said that he had spoken to harry after the reception and Harry had informed him about Hermione's attempted suicide. It had nearly killed him to know that he had reduced the most powerful witch to a state where she didn't think that her life was worth living. No matter what had happened between them, she was still his best friend and he loved her.

He told him that it had been 6 months since he had moved to America, away from everything that reminded him of what he had done and what he had become. One would ask why was he opening his soul to his arch enemy? From what he wrote, he almost seemed thankful for Draco's presence in Hermione's life. He was thankful that Draco had fixed the mess that he had made of Hermione's life.

His only request had been that Draco kept Hermione happy for the rest of his life and treat her like the way she deserved. He gave the couple his blessings for their future and hoped to see them again one day.

When the person you hated all through life tells you his innermost feelings about the girl you love, it leaves you with an altogether different feeling. Draco felt pity as well as something else for Ronald Weasley; maybe it was admiration. It takes a lot of courage to apologise as well as confide in your worst enemy; To show them your vulnerability.

Draco decided to tell Hermione about the letter after the wedding and pushed the thought of Ron Weasley out of his head. It was his wedding day, he should only be thinking about his bride to be. He hadn't seen her in three days and he was almost nervous to see her again. He wondered what she must be thinking right now; hopefully she wasn't planning on bailing.

The door opened and he turned to see his best man walk in wearing formal grey robes and a panicked expression. Blaise walked over to the mini bar and downed a glass of firewhiskey in one go. Draco looked amused and said, "And here I thought I was in bad shape, what is wrong with you? Its not you who is getting married."

Blaise glared at the Groom and shouted, "My wife is eight months pregnant…EIGHT MONTHS….! I am freaking out! Every time she does anything, I get all panicky as to what might go wrong, its driving her crazy."

Draco stifled a smile and replied, "Relax a bit, you are driving yourself nuts with all this worry. She will be fine, she can take care of herself. I have heard pregnant women are hormonal, if you keep this up, she'll surely bite your head off."

Blaise Gulped and quickly downed another glass of firewhiskey. Draco snatched the bottle before Blaise could get fully drunk and took a big sip to calm himself a bit. The best man is supposed to make life easier for the groom, and his best man was clearly not helping. He again wondered what Hermione was doing right now.

…...

Hermione looked at the mirror and beamed at her reflection, this was how she had always wanted to look at her wedding. She was now wearing her wedding gown and she herself admitted that she looked like a bride from a muggle movie. Her dress was simple but was cut in a way that it oozed elegance. It hugged her curves in all the right places and made her look like a runway model. Everything was ready and she could feel butterflies in her stomach. Her brides maids were gushing over her beauty but Hermione kept looking at the door from where she knew Harry would soon enter to walk her down the aisle.

Maybe it was her continuous stare that made the door open or time had passed way too soon, Harry Potter peeked in the room and smiled at his best friend and simply said, "Its time." Hermione's heart left a beat; this was it.

…..

It had been a beautiful wedding, Harry Potter had walked a blushing Hermione Granger down the aisle where a nervous looking Draco Malfoy had waited. As soon as they had looked in each other's eyes, all their nervousness had vanished. Both had said their vows and proclaimed their love for each other and then they had shared their first kiss as a man and wife.

Narcissa had shed a few tears, Harry had looked nostalgic, Ginny had cried, Luna and Blaise had simply hugged their best friends and Snape, well snape's expression rarely changes. Everyone danced and drank and enjoyed the grand reception that Narcissa had put together. It was finally over.

Harry potter looked at the carriage that flew the newly wedded couple to their honeymoon destination and turned to his wife who was waving to the happy couple and said, "It took just one year to change life as we knew it. If exactly one year ago someone had told me I would be attending Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy's wedding in a year, I would have sent them to the mental ward of St. Mungos."

Ginny Potter laughed , "I would have probably hexed them to the next century. I am just happy that Hermione is happy. Ron never made her as happy as Draco does, maybe it's a good thing that Ron messed up or Hermione would have never realised that she deserved someone better."

Harry sighed, "Maybe you are right, but I wish it didn't have to happen like it did. Hopefully things will be peaceful from now on."

Ginny laughed, "Peaceful! They are still Hermione and Draco. Things will never be peaceful with those two in the same equation. Just imagine what their kids will be like."

Harry shuddered at the thought and mumbled, "Oh God!"

A/n: And we are done here, i am sorry if it seems vague, i couldn't come up with details regarding the wedding. I feel nostalgic; this story was like a baby to me. Thanks a lot to everyone who has read and supported this story. I won't be updating this story ever. If I choose to write about their married life or their kids, I'll write separate one shots but I can't promise anything. For now..i take your leave my dear friends.
