I'm so sorry it took me forever to upload this chapter! I have no good excuse I just have been putting it off :( Forgive me? Here is a chapter as an apology gift to all of you!

As always a huge thanks to Calleigh Logan for editing and putting up with my less than stellar messaging back

The piercing quiet that filled the room, after Victor entered, hurt Aaron's head. He knew he most likely had a concussion. Even blinking felt like something was pounding on his head, but he couldn't let it show. He needed to focus and help Victor and Elizabeth.

"Because of you, I lost everything!" The gunman completely forgot about Elizabeth and Aaron and pointed the gun at Victor.

"I don't even know who you are. How could I have ruined your life?" For a gun being pointed at him, the businessman was eerily calm.

The gunman took a stride towards Victor, leaving a foot between the end of the gun and Victor's head. "Of course you don't know me! Is that how you work? You just use people until they are no use for you then you fire them. When you let me go, I couldn't pay my little girl's hospital bill, she died four days ago because of you!"

"If I fired you, then I had a reason. I only fire people when it's necessary. And as for your daughter, I couldn't be sorrier." The gun against his chest made Victor flinch only a bit. "I know I couldn't deal if I lost Emily. I love her more than anything and you hurt her pretty bad when you shot Derek. She cares for him a lot, and I don't know if she will make it if he doesn't." He only said the last part as a hope to build a somewhat equal relationship with the man. He knew his daughter didn't need a man to live. It would hurt her if he was gone, but she was a strong girl.

"I don't care, then you can feel what I feel! Maybe I should shoot your wife, but that won't affect you too much, right? You guys aren't in love, you just stay together for the press." Gary walked over to Elizabeth, placing the gun at her temple. "How about Aaron, your little prodigy?" Aaron flinched when the gun pressed up against his bruised temple. "He is like a son to you, right? You taught him everything you know, hoping one day he will take over the business you started."

Victor watched in horror as the gunman put his finger on the trigger. Gary smiled and pulled the gun away from Aaron's head. "They didn't cause you this pain, I did!" Victor yelled. He was hoping the FBI would come in soon, but for the life of him he couldn't remember the word they told him to say when he needed them. "Shoot me! I'm the one who ruined your life, not my wife, not Aaron, not Emily or Derek. It's me you want!"

Gary took slow steps towards Victor, taking deep breaths that looked almost calm. "That would be too easy. Too painless. You'd be dead before you knew what happened." The two men kept eye contact in what seemed like an intense staring contest. "You will never feel the pain I felt, but here is a taste of it." Gary turned around, firing one shot into Elizabeth's lower leg. She let out a cry and Aaron was immediately at her side, holding her leg.

"You bastard!" Victor grabbed for the gun, but was met with a gun across the face, making him stumble backwards.

"Tell your little cop friends, who I know are listening, if they come in I will shoot everyone in here, that's a promise." Gary kicked Victor in the stomach, causing him to double over in pain. "You will feel the pain I had to." He grabbed Victor, making him sit up facing Elizabeth who was trying to control her pain. Aaron took off his shirt and wrapped it around his boss' injured leg. "Get away!" Aaron backed away a little bit, close enough to get back to Elizabeth if needed. At the moment, he didn't want to take too many risks and make the gunman angry.

"Maybe you should have to watch your wife die slowly from blood loss, or I could just end her life now." Gary put the gun to Elizabeth's head and put his finger on the trigger.

A sharp ring caught everyone's attention. Gary stepped back, keeping the gun pointed at Elizabeth before answering. "This better be good."

"Hello Gary, my name is Jason Gideon. I work for the FBI. I don't want you hurting anybody else."

"Well, if that's what you want I'm afraid it's not going to work."

"I get that Victor hurt you. He has hurt a lot of people, but Elizabeth and Aaron did nothing to you. Why don't you let them go?" Everyone was completely silent, hoping to get the answer they wanted although everyone knew it would never happen.

"He has to feel the pain that I felt!" Gideon wasn't sure it would work, but he had an idea of what just might cause the diversion they need.

"He will. Can you put the phone on speaker, Gary? I have to tell Victor something." Will stood next to the FBI agents with JJ right by his side, her blue eyes filled with tears.

"Fine," Gary pulled the phone away from his ear. "One wrong move and I will shoot them all, just so you know."

"Victor, I'm Jason Gideon, we met outside earlier. I hate to inform you that after you went into the mansion, Emily collapsed. They took her to the hospital and managed to keep her breathing for the ride, but when she got there…" Gideon hesitated, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry, sir, but she didn't make it. The stress caused a brain aneurysm. She was pronounced dead at the hospital."

Victor felt his heart break. His baby girl, his Emily, was dead. No, that couldn't be, it had to be a lie! "No, she is alive!"

Gideon looked at JJ, who bit her lip but stepped up to the phone. "Mr. Prentiss, it's me JJ… she really is dead. Dave is at the hospital now. He said the doctors did everything they could…" A sob erupted from the blonde's mouth. Will brought her into a hug, rubbing his hand up and down her back.

Victor looked at Elizabeth and saw the first tear he had seen from her in years sliding down her face. What was there to live for now that his baby was gone? He could understand how this man was feeling. "I'm sorry, I caused all of this and now my daughter is dead. Please just end it for me. I have nothing to live for anymore." Victor saw the bitter irony of how much time he had spent at work away from Emily and now his work, the job he built from scratch, has killed her.

"Well, Jason, it looks like you're not going to get what you wanted." The line went dead but the sound from Victor's wire still coming in clear. "You want me to end it? End your suffering while I have to live? How is that fair?" Gary was less than a foot away from Victor but the older man didn't flinch, he didn't care anymore.

"No one said you have to live after this." Aaron saw the look in Victor's eyes he knew what he was planning. Quietly Aaron moved towards Elizabeth.

"Look at me, Elizabeth, not them," he whispered. The normally calm and collected Senator looked as if she might black out. "Don't look at them. If you just keep looking at me, it will be better." Elizabeth grabbed Aaron's hand and squeezed it tight, not taking her eyes off of the young man.

"If you feel that way, do you feel you should have to live either?" The gun was now pointed right at Victor's heart.

Gideon looked at Will. "Send SWAT in! Now!" With that, the SWAT team stormed into the mansion, only to hear two gunshots before they even reached the kitchen.

I will try to get a new chapter up as soon as I can!

Read and Review pretty please!
