Kai POV: I was completely wrong, because I felt like crap when I woke up. My headache was awful and was making me dizzy. I could feel how bad my fever was getting, despite the cold feeling I had.
But the others were back and wanted to have breakfast together, and I couldn't miss that. Even if I really couldn't eat, though I could just maybe have a breakfast bar.
I somehow managed to get out of bed and barely managed to get my clean uniform on. But I was really dizzy and felt like I was gonna throw up, which would be bad. I swallowed it back and left the room, and immediately got a cold feeling and shivered. I walked towards the kitchen and I could hear the others, and it didn't sound good.
I looked in and saw Zane in a chair with his chest plate open. Nya and Jay were trying to look through all the tools laid out on the table.
"What's going on?" I asked, really confused.
"Last night, while Zane was plugging into Borg's new system a lightning bolt hit the antenna that was connected." Jay said, finally picking up a tool and going back to Zane.
"He was fine at first, but now Zane's systems are messed up and they need to be recalibrated." Nya continued, readjusting his face plate to take it off.
"Oh." That wasn't good, but I'm sure they'll be able to get him back on his feet. Then I noticed the missing member, "Where are Lloyd and Cole?"
"Cole's dad had an emergency with a competition and he needed their help." Jay answered.
"I hate to ask, but can you patrol tonight? There's no way we'll be able to get Zane back on his feet in time." Nya said, not really looking at me and looking really guilty.
I should say no. I'm definitely way too sick to go out again, but there's no choice. Lloyd and Cole won't get back in time and these two need to work together to fix Zane.
"Yeah, I can handle it." I said, forcing a small smile.
She looked me in the eyes and returned the smile, but she noticed I was off and said, "Are you okay? You look a little pale?"
"I'm fine, I just didn't get as much sleep as I should have. After patrol I can get plenty of rest." I reassured her, and left before she could ask anymore questions.
It was really quiet the last couple of nights, and I'm gonna hope it stays that way. And that thinking that way won't come back to bite me.

It was a quiet night, but my health took a turn for the worse. And the really strong and cold wind didn't make things better. I ran slower than usual, but it did help keep me warm despite the wind.
Then I got hit with a wave of nausea and emptied my stomach next to a water tower. It was a miracle that I didn't sink to my knees from the weakness that followed.
I gave myself a few moments for my stomach to settle and continued with the patrol. And soon I heard some police sirens, of course. I followed them and found that several officers were chasing two escaped convicts. There's no way I can just walk away after seeing that, despite being sick.
I followed as well as I could, and once they had them sort of cornered I jumped down. I landed on one of them, knocking them out and prepared for the other one. He noticed what I did immediately and charged at me. Usually I could have just taken him out instantly, but I was already off balance and it took me a second to react.
I jumped away in time to avoid his punch and when he punched a second time I ducked and took out his right leg. He fell and I got his pressure point, effectively knocking him out.
I stood up and the officers turned the corner. One of them saw the scene and said, "Thanks for the assist, ninja."
"No problem. I'll leave the rest to you." I responded, and returned to the rooftops.
Just in time to lose my stomach again. Thank goodness that didn't happen in front of them. That would be too embarrassing.
I returned to the Bounty and didn't bother to check on them, though I'm pretty sure they're still working on Zane.
I slowly peeled my uniform off and hopped in the shower, which I put on really hot and it felt really nice. However, the second I stepped out it got cold again and I shivered again.
Though I don't care and got into bed, still not feeling the best. And groaned when I remembered tomorrow is my shift for patrol. Whatever, if I can handle tonight I can handle tomorrow.
Probably.
