Chapter 29:
After a few days since the Kagaya incident. Kaluna devises a plan to hasten her plans. She uses Kaguya's Yomotsu Hirasaka to teleport herself and Enmu into Naruto's room.
"Don't fail me." Kaluna whispered.
"Of course." Enmu replied.
Enmu using a rope ties Naruto to Kaluna and puts Kaluna to sleep with his signature genjutsu which Kaluna allows to be used on her.
Somewhere
Naruto wakes up in a dark void. Suddenly blinding lights turn on and Kauna appears before Naruto.
"Hello, Naruto Uzumaki." Kaluna said.
"What am I doing here?" Naruto asked.
"Enmu's ropes allowed me to enter your subconscious in order for me to show you something special." Kaluna explained.
"What is it?" Naruto asked.
"The infinite tsukuyomi. A never ending dream. Where you get to live the best life possible. I will now show you all of your friends' dreams." Kaluna answered.
Kaluna grabs Naruto's arm and Kaluna creates a portal which they both enter.
In Konoha
Exiting the portal, Kaluna and Naruto float over Konoha.
"Whoa! How are we doing this?!" Naruto asked, more excited than surprised.
"This is merely an image of what would happen if the infinite tsukuyomi were to be activated." Kaluna explained.
Kaluna brings Naruto to an alternate version of Naruto.
"Watch." Kaluna said.
This alternate version of Naruto is a more successful shinobi already reaching the rank of chunin. He is loved and supported by his mother and father. Adored by the village. Sakura reciprocates Naruto's feelings of love. Sasuke never had his clan eradicated and never ceded to the path of hatred and he is a lot friendlier and is a smooth talking playboy. Naruto's friends and the friends of those friends live out their perfect world.
"Wow. This is amazing." Naruto said in amazement.
"Yes. This is just what happens in Konoha. Everybody is happy in this world because of the brightness of your heart and soul. Which is surprising coming from somebody with a backstory like yours. I applaud you for that." Kaluna replied.
"Thanks." Naruto replied.
"I know this may sound suspicious but here me out. This dream requires every single tailed beast to activate. And since Chance the comedic fool placed Kurama back into you. We are one short." Kaluna explained.
"Sorry but I don't trust you. You did use the dead to attack me after all. I refuse to give up Kurama. Because I refuse to be a pawn for anybody." Naruto replied.
"Interesting mindset. Although I suggest you think differently." Kaluna suggested.
"What are you talking about?" Naruto asked.
"If Kurama stays inside of you. This war will continue. Those you love and care for, WILL die. This war can be ended, you don't need to lose more. My family won't need to lose more. It's in everybody's best interest if this war just stopped. I have done some immoral things. But haven't we all? I am only human after all." Kaluna explained.
"I will protect my friends and bring Konoha back to life and become hokage." Naruto declared.
Kaluna sighs
"You think you will protect everybody. But war gives, but more importantly. It takes. It will break you. It will break many people. Because that's just what war is. It will take at least one friend away from you. But didnt you already lose two friends? Sure I revived them, but what if I couldn't anymore. What if your friends died for good? All because you failed to understand that I'm not against you. I work for the benefit of everyone." Kaluna claimed.
"I get it. But why should I trust you? You have done nothing but bad things so far." Naruto replied.
"I suppose you're not going to trust me no matter what I say. But what about Chance? Do you trust him?" Kaluna asked.
"Yeah. I don't know what you're trying to say but please just leave me alone!" Naruto shouted.
"Fine. But remember this encounter for this will serve as a reminder of the paradise you can experience. If you just opened your heart." Kaluna said.
Kaluna fades away.
Naruto wakes up.
"She said she used ropes. Where did she go?" Naruto asked himself.
Sasuke and Sakura were still asleep. Kakashi was not here.
"Kakashi-Sensei is probably off doing his own thing. I will tell them what happened when they wake up." Naruto once again whispered to himself.
Naruto rushes out of the shelter.
On the Rota castle balcony
"Chance! Something weird happened!" Naruto shouted.
"I know, Enmu did the same thing to me. He showed me a good life, where I never killed Kanae, Lucky was still alive, I was always with my entire family, everything I could ever want." Chance replied.
"I don't trust that girl. Kaluna is obviously power hungry." Naruto claimed.
"Yeah, you're probably right. But what did she show you?" Chance asked.
"She showed me a world where all of my friends and the friends of friends live amazing lives and achieve their biggest goals. My parents are still alive. And I never had to suffer the pain delt to me in life" Naruto answered.
"Same vibes, just different details." Chance replied.
"So, is this what you are working towards?" Naruto asked.
"Of course not. I want to avoid it. But in order to achieve my objectives, I would need Kurama and figure out a way to become a god. Or, I would need to take control of the entire world." Chance answered.
"Why not do none of those? And why do you need to accomplish those goals?" Naruto asked.
"Trust me, I've thought of that. But the problem is, I serve my family unconditionally. It is my duty to do so. So whatever the family wants, I give it to them. They have a goal, I help them accomplish it. Shortly before this fucking war happened, Kaluna told me of this plan. I wanted to avoid it because I had a feeling that she had ulterior motives. So I decided to make wildly impossible goals to stall for time until I figured out how to deal with this situation. Many months later and I still have no fucking clue what Im going to do. " Chance answered.
"You don't really have too do that though." Naruto replied.
"You have a nindo don't you?" Chance asked.
"Yeah. I will never run away and will never go back on my word." Naruto answered.
"My nindo is, I will always protect and serve my family and friends even if it costs me my life." Chance replied.
"I respect that nindo, but even if it's messed up, would you still serve them?" Naruto asked.
"I would." Chance answered.
"I understand." Naruto replied.
Later that day
After the conversation between Naruto and Chance ended. Damian appeared.
"Hello king Chance. Another day another soul suffering from your hidden reign of terror." Damian said.
"Kaluna told you. Damn. What do you want?" Chance asked.
"To stop the war. The casualties have broken my army. Most of my men are dead. Besides, whats the point in fighting when we both hate the faggots?" Damian asked.
"Again, you want me to become just like you. I'm going to kill you." Chance proclaimed.
"Because of Lucky. Your hatred is directed to the wrong people. You put us as the main cause for his death, when you refuse to look at the other factors. The corrupt self serving government and their weak peasants. We work for the betterment of humanity. It's just our hatred that turns people against us." Damian said.
"Killing millions of innocents just because of their race will do that to you." Chance replied.
"Look, I know of your underground kingdom of suffering and I applaud your work. Despite our differences, I respect you. You are what people should strive to be, a man of morals yet not afraid to commit immoral acts for the greater good. You are a special man, you've just made some mistakes. But I can help you correct those mistakes. You no longer have to be haunted by those sins. All you have to do is get Kurama." Damian responded.
"Kaluna sent you to spread more tsukuyomi propaganda." Chance said
"She never sent me. I haven't talked to her in a few days actually. Mainly because I dont trust that fucking alien inside of her." Damian replied.
"I removed Mezamerus remains from my body to prevent anything bad from happening." Chance responded pointing to his forearm.
"Good idea. Fascism is the only system that works. Look at the other systems. They have the same flaws, they allow those who are inferior to have all the control over the world. Their greed may come in different forms but it all ends the same. Self destruction." Damian explained.
"You're right. No matter what we do, we always lose. But I will make sure we win in the end." Chance replied.
"How much longer are you going to run away from reality? You know that you will fail your goals and you're merely delaying the inevitable. You won't take control of the world nor make yourself a god. You will not rule the world with pain and obedience. Stop trying to cling to your hopes and dreams. Give up." Damian spoke in a serious tone.
"Fascist scum. I will never fall for your rhetoric." Chance replied.
"Lucky, had such a beautiful voice. A man whose singing would make the entire world cheer uncontrollably. He was going to die eventually right? In his final days he saved thousands, although he was vilified for using ninjutsu in combat which is strictly prohibited. Great minds think alike I suppose, aint that right Chance? He fought for his country, died honorably, and was a great man. Unfortunately he died with his last words being to you. You're gonna go far kid." Damian responded.
"Such pathetic manipulation tactics!" Chance shouted.
"Lucky died, but his sacrifice shaped you up to be the man you are today. He died by my fascist party. Yet I wasn't in control of the party. Your grudge against fascist ignores reality in favor of giving a target to gain satisfaction once you eliminate it. I hope you change your ways." Damian replied.
"Ive heard enough come out of your fucking sewer of a mouth." Chance responded with controlled anger.
"Hold on! We don't have to resort to violence. You still have a large reserve of your moms aura. You can keep that Naruto kid alive. There is no reason to keep avoiding the tsukuyomi. Give up on your futile goals and embrace the best solution to our problems." Damian said, still remaining calm.
"Fucking fool." Chance replied, chuckling as he said it.
"Excuse me?" Damian asked.
"You do realize I don't fit into your pathetic view of what a perfect human is. I'm not a part of the mythical Aryan race. I would never cooperate with a man who wishes to murder the disabled and those with different ethnic backgrounds." Chance answered.
"The tsukuyomi places us in different pods of sorts. The quicker you help activate the infinite tsukuyomi. The less non-humans have to die." Damian replied.
"Fine… But under two conditions. You will take Kurama and administer my mothers aura. After that head to this bunker which doubles as the tailed beast prison. But afterwards, In exchange. You will allow me to kill you." Chance said.
"W-what?! Are you insane? I'm not going to let you kill me!" Damian replied angrily.
"I'm just kidding. But in all seriousness. You must take Kurama swiftly and silently. I cannot in any way be connected to this. Expect resistance from the family and village. Naruto is probably going to kick your ass if he gets the opportunity to go full beast mode on your ass. So I recommend you kidnap him first when he is asleep, then take Kurama to these coordinates.." Chance recommended giving Damain a map.
"That's false. I'm stronger now." Damian responded.
"We will see about that." Chance replied.
"Goodbye." Damian responded giving the nazi salute.
Damian leaves.
"This is perfect. For me and Naruto. We can defeat the Fuhrer." Chance said.
In Naruto's room
Chance teleports and appears in front of Naruto.
"Hey." Chance said.
Naruto is frightened by his sudden appearance and jumps back.
"Take it easy. Damian the leader of the 4th Reich tried manipulating me into working with me. I told him to try and take Kurama, which is inside of you. We need to think of a defensive plan quickly."Chance explained.
"I got an idea. Let him kidnap a shadow clone and you can kill him. You already had gotten close to killing him before. This should be easy for you." Naruto proposed.
"I like it. But I have an addition I would like to make. In case it's impossible for me to kill him. Make sure this clone wears paper bombs underneath its clothing.." Chance suggested.
"Good idea." Naruto replied.
Later that night, Naruto creates a clone and with Chance's assistance places paper bombs that will go off under Naruto's command. Team 7 has no knowledge of what's going on.
A portal appears in the middle of the room. Everyone is asleep and Chance had previously left the room to organize defenses outside of Rota to prepare for the worst case scenario. Naruto is currently hiding underneath the bed waiting for Damian to take the bait.
Damian exits the portal which is identical to the ones created with Kalunas Yomotsu Hirasaka.
Damian grabs the boy but the clone explodes, scaring team 7 awake. Through the fog Naruto crawls out from under the bed and upper cuts Damian in the chin. As the smoke clears. Damian's face is melting and Kabuto Yakushi's face is revealed.
"How did he know? Was it him? It was a trap." Kabuto realized.
Naruto quickly draws a kunai and stabs Kabuto who retreats through the portal. As soon as Kabuto escapes the portal closes.
"Naruto! What happened?!"Sakura asked.
"Kabuto the guy from the chunin exams. He posed as Damian. And tried to conspire with Chance to kidnap me and take Kurama. Chance luckily had no intention of anything bad happening to me so we devised a plan. I would let Damian now Kabuto pick up a shadow clone rigged with explosives. That was supposed to kill him or at least take him down but he somehow survived." Naruto explained.
"This must be his plan. He wants us to trust him. There is no way to convince Naruto now. I must eliminate him. But how can I? I heard of his power, it would be a suicide mission if I tried to attack him." Sasuke wondered to himself.
"He protected him? Is he really a horrible person? I must learn more about the situation. I need to know more about what Chance and his clan's objectives are." Kakashi thought to himself
Elsewhere
A portal appears and he exits said Portal. The Portal then closes. Kaluna stands over the edge of a cliff staring into the horizon.
"You failed. I'm not shocked in the slightest." Kaluna said.
"Be quiet. Naruto somehow knew I was going to kidnap him. He left a shadow clone rigged with explosives. Then he hit me in the chin, drew a kunai and stabbed me with it."Kabuto explained.
"I see. This will unfortunately lead into another tragedy. The death of Chance." Kaluna replied.
"You can't kill him. He has the ability to become a full fledged demon at any time he pleases. If he becomes a demon. Then you would have to poison him but you don't have the resources to do so. Or, behead him with that special sword. You would be unable to behead him because he can constantly use that afterimage jutsu to teleport. Not to mention the fact he mastered it when he was seven years old. You won't even be able to know where he teleports." Kabuto claimed.
"I must try." Kaluna responded.
"Or you could do what you've been planning to do and kill the ones most important to both Chance and Naruto. You have seen everyone meaningful to them since you looked into their souls. " Kabuto replied.
"Remember that's a risky move. If he figures out I'm behind this. He will compromise the mission in some way. Like eliminating the tailed beast and having everyone kill me. I need to succeed in my goals without risking failure." Kaluna explained.
"Well you may have actually done something worthwhile. Because with the saving of Naruto. His close friend group will trust Chance more. Maybe if everyone knows of this, it could increase the trust of those who are skeptical of your family." Kabuto said.
"Maybe. But the lies you were fed poses a challenge. Chances trust in me has waned considerably since the beginning of the war. I fear he may grow a backbone. Which is why, you must head to a far off nation. They possess Lucky's remains. Bring them back. With him revived, I cannot possibly fail." Kaluna ordered.
"I researched that man. His accomplishments are outstanding. If there's nothing else to be said. I will be on my way." Kabuto said.
"Go. Don't fail me again." Kaluna replied.
Kabuto walks away.
In Rota
Kakashi knocks on a door. Melina Aura-Sun opens. Her hair is a mess and she looks exhausted.
"May I come in?" Kakashi asked.
"(Yawn) Sure why not?" Melina answered.
Kakashi enters the home. Melina walks into the kitchen as Kakashi sits on the comfortable couch. Melina grabs two glasses and pours wine.
"Want some?" Melina asked.
"No thank you." Kakashi answered.
"Alright. Why did you come here disturbing my sleep?" Melina asked, then took a sip of the wine.
"Do you know what your family is trying to achieve in this war?" Kakashi asked.
"I have no clue what they are doing. If I were running Rota, The Riech would easily be defeated. They are what I call fodder. Now please leave, I want to go back to sleep." Melina answered.
"You are not involved in their meetings?" Kakashi asked.
"I've been to one. Yet it didn't have anything to do with what you're asking. I keep myself out of their business since I'm not in any condition to fight in this war and I like to stay away from the drama of this war." Melina answered, she then continued drinking the wine until one glass was finished.
"That's all I wanted to ask you. I will be heading out." Kakashi said.
"I'm surprised you came to see me of all people. It's been awhile since we last met." Melina replied.
"That's right, you and your husband were mercenaries for Iwagakure during the 3rd shinobi world war. Your husband was the one with the highest kill count and the one of the two shinobi who had an order in place where if you saw him you were to retreat immediately. Even after the war, he was still a terror to the shinobi villages. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he died. But his legacy is on par with the greatest shinobi of all time." Kakashi responded.
"Yeah. I miss him terribly even though it's been awhile. His favorite drink was wine, he despised all other forms of alcohol. He loved wine more so for religious significance but he still enjoyed it. I guess this is how I cope with his loss." Melina said.
"Now I will be on my way. Take care." Kakashi said as he stood up.
Kakashi left Melina's home.
Somewhere two weeks later
After Disembarking of their ship. Tabitha and Kabuto look at this desert village on the coast.
"Finally, my time to shine." Tabitha said.
"Remember what we came here for." Kabuto replied.
"Here's what we are going to do. Im going to kill all of these niggers. You grab the remains of the fascist slayer. We will meet back here and escape." Tabitha said.
"That's fine." Kabuto replied.
Tabitha and Kabuto separate and are prepared to achieve their goals.
Tabitha slaughters anyone with a dark skin tone. This village has a small yet talented shinobi force yet they fail to defeat tabitha using only a sword to defeat these shinobi. While every shinobi is distracted by Tabitha, Kabuto steals an urn that contains Lucky's cremated remains.
Kabuto then boards the ship that both he and Tabitha arrived in.
"Sir! Do you think Tabitha will be fine?" A Reichsman asked.
"Yes. I'm sure. He sounded steadfast in killing those niggers. Whatever that terminology is referring too." Kabuto answered.
Meanwhile Tabitha has killed everyone with a dark skin tone and returned to the ship.
"Was that genocide really nessacary?" Kabuto asked, annoyed.
"Yes. Soon the pure Aryan race can claim this place as home." Tabitha answered.
"Ugh! This pure Aryan race talk is extremely irritating." Kabuto replied.
"You don't fit the Fuhrer's image of a perfect officer. Until you embrace the Aryan way. YOU WILL NEVER SUCCEED IN LIFE!" Tabitha shouted.
"I will never become anything. Such ignorant thinking proves that you are just a manipulated fool." Kabuto insulted Tabitha.
"Manipulated. That's absurd. I was never manipulated. I have only been educated with facts. I wouldnt start shit with me. I am superior in ranking. I will make you suffer if you continue to annoy me." Tabitha threatened.
As they bicker and make their way back to Rota. They have no idea what's going on in Rota.
Thirteen days prior.
In the morning, Chance and Naruto meet to discuss what happened.
"What the hell happened? My forces waited a long ass time and he never showed up." Chance said.
"I know. He escaped in a black portal. The same portal that girl Kaluna used." Naruto replied.
"Kaluna? I wonder when she will stop being a pain in the ass. I have an idea. Why don't we just kill Kurama? That way he wont show up for a long time and stalls Kalunas plans." Chance proposed.
"But what if she recovers Kurama. I mean, she is very powerful." Naruto replied.
"True. But there are no other solutions. It's either I accomplish near unattainable goals. Or we are fucked by the tsukuyomi." Chance argued, still remaining calm.
"It's not over yet. Now that we have this information on Kaluna. Won't you be able to show the public and your family that Kaluna was a traitor?" Naruto asked.
Chance jumped up from his chair.
"Great Idea Naruto. In the doctrine required for the king to follow it requires any and all traitors to be arrested and punished by the king personally. With this, I can avoid doing any of the things Kaluna wants. And my fuck ups can be fixed. With this off my back, we can defeat the Reich with no distractions." Chance replied.
"Unfortunately I cannot let that happen."
Kaluna arrives.
"What do you want?" Naruto asked.
"You know of my ambitions. I know of yours. Working alone is pointless as your goals require cooperation in order to work properly. Tell me Naruto, what are you hoping to achieve?" Kaluna asked.
"I'm going to be a war hero and become the next hokage after Konoha is rebuilt. And I'm going to protect my friends. That's not a goal, it's a promise!" Naruto answered.
"Such a noble goal. Chance, what are your goals?"
"My goals. I have one goal with multiple ways of achieving it. My goal is to create a paradise where everyone who is acceptable is happy. I could become a god and make everyone a god so they can live perfect lives and create creative worlds. Or rule this world by causing such unimaginable pain that they will never fight again." Chance explained.
"And what are your goals Naruto?" Kaluna asked.
"To become the next hokage and rebuild Konoha while keeping my friends safe." Naruto answered.
"Such noble goals. My goal is to bring peace to the world using the infinite tsukuyomi. With the tsukuyomi, we can live our perfect lives, and this beautiful earth." Kaluna replied.
"What are you trying to do? Regain our trust?" Chance asked.
"Yes. Because working together will benefit everyone." Kaluna answered.
"And if you refuse. I will spill all of your darkest secrets to Naruto." Kaluna told Chance in his mind.
"Naruto. To avoid any of us dying. We might as well work with her." Chance said.
"What?! You're really going to trust this power hungry witch?!" Naruto asked.
Chance bursts out laughing.
"Ah Naruto. You have no filter whatsoever! But you do make a point. Why should we trust you?" Chance asked, barely able to keep himself together.
"Can you take this seriously? Anyway, If you don't trust me. Well, I can't guarantee everything will go right." Kaluna said.
A portal appears behind Kaluna and she walks into it. The portal disperses.
"I can't believe you have to deal with people like her." Naruto said.
"Yeah she can be a pain in the ass, but she's family." Chance replied.
