Leonard and Penny

The marriage continuation celebration

That was just what Leonard and Penny always wanted, all of their friends and family together for their wedding. although their first wedding in Vegas was lovely, it was definitely spur of the moment and they both kind of regretted it. Now none of that mattered, Wyatt, Penny's father, had walked her down the aisle, Beverly and Alfred had put up with each other long enough to get through the service and now they were all back in Leonard and Penny's apartment, having a makeshift reception. Raj and Howard had moved all the furniture back, put out more chairs and creating a large dance area for the first dances and enough seating.

"I'd like to say something" Wyatt interrupted the celebrations "first of all, I'd like to thank everyone for coming to see my beautiful daughter marry her soul mate, for the second time"

"well, we weren't invited the first time" Sheldon rolled his eyes out loud, joined by Beverly

"we would like to offer a hearty welcome to the family" Wyatt carried on, totally ignoring what Sheldon had said "and thank you to you both for arranging this second wedding so we could attend."

"you're welcome, Daddy" Penny gushed, feeling herself blush

"now, I don't know if anyone has realised, but since Penny started dating Leonard, she has mellowed into a lovely, mature, sophisticated young woman, and I'm pleased to say that, when they get there, my grandchildren will not grow up in a home with wheels"

"that's right" Leonard giggled, Penny gave him a look, obviously clueless to what Wyatt had said, but clear that Leonard knew exactly what he was talking about"

"so, to sum up" Wyatt laughed along with Leonard, but carried on, trying to appear oblivious "Penelope Jayde and Leonard Leakey, I wish you all the luck in the world"

"how did you know my middle name?" Leonard interjected "no one knows that"

"don't ask me" Sheldon answered for him, a cheeky look on his face "I didn't tell anybody"

As the evening carried on in the way traditional weddings do, they came to the first dance. Amy walked over to the cd player and pulled out one of the CDs that was piled up next to. She pressed play, and over the whole apartment, Shania Twain's 'You're Still the One' played.

Looks like we made it, look how far we've come my baby

We might've took the long way, we knew we'd get tthere someday

They said, I bet, they'll never make it, but just look at us holding on

We're still together, still going strong

Leonard and Penny looked into each other's eyes, the last year of them being married had been wonderful. After a shaky start, the details of which they'd managed to keep between the group and Mandy, they had managed to build on their relationship, making them stronger than ever. Penny would never tell Leonard that she regretted breaking up with him. she had said enough to Raj, but now things were great and in a funny way, she thought the two years apart made them stronger.

"you're still the one I run too, the one that I belong too, the one I want for life" Penny whispered to her husband along with the music "you're still the one that I love, the only one I dream of, you're still the one I kiss good night"

"this really is the perfect song for us" Leonard whispered back, too lost in his wife's eyes to even think about trying to sing along "it just sums us up"

"It really does" Penny agreed, unsure where abouts in the song they were too "thank you"

"what for?" Leonard asked her, fighting the urge to kiss her again

"taking me back" Penny answered "I'm sorry I broke up with you"

"I should say thank you to you" Leonard answered, trying not to giggle "you did this all for my mom"

"that's true" Penny pulled her eyes away from her husband momentarily just to look at her mother in law, giving her a small smile "but I'm glad we did it"

"me too" Leonard smiled "and for the record, I'm sorry I didn't fight for you"

"well, the affair we had while you were with Priya was kind of fighting" Penny smiled cheekily, unsure if anyone else apart from the two of them knew about that

"shhh" Leonard begged her, looking around to make sure no one heard them "no one else knows about that"

"I'm sorry" Penny smiled, unable to wipe it off her face "let's just dance"

As Penny laid her head on her husband's chest, she went back over what had happened since they met. The kiss on the couch during Halloween, the time they spent together before Wil Wheaton orchestrated their break up, that time where they slept together after Penny had broken up with Zack and the times when they were together, even though Leonard was with Priya. It wasn't really an affair as such, just a few drunken moments when Priya was working or they had fallen out as they did a lot. Leonard didn't want anyone to know. No matter what had happened since he and Priya had broken up, Leonard knew Raj would be upset, and quite rightly so. This meant they couldn't say anything to anyone. Penny didn't mind, yes she kind of felt a bit used, but any time spent with Leonard was worth it. She'd had her chance, or so she thought, so why did she have the right to demand all of Leonard's time.

Penny looked up at Leonard, and was so pleased at how far they'd come. She was so pleased she'd given in to him that day when they got engaged. The fighting her feelings had become exhausting, and after a trip to her psychic, she had decided to just give herself to the relationship. Commit everything to Leonard, and the family they could create.
