CHAPTER 16

Castle DeDessia. DeDessian Capital Building. Residence of the highest ranking members of the DeDessian military leadership and symbol of the DeDessian military might that stores tens of thousands of battle-ready troops. Currently undergoing a massive invasion by Amerikirb.

Deescow, DeDessia, 2000 hours

All of the puffballs stared at their enemy in the face as he donned a black mask covering his face and sported heavy combat armor. The epic battle had finally commenced. The puffballs readied their weapons and rushed headlong at the enemy commander in his arena. His hammer sparked with a powerful flash of lightning that surrounded him like a cloak. The bullets from the machine guns did no damage to him, only slowed him down. The unhinged monster seemed invincible. Pinkobashi readied his gun and fired another round only to be battered around by his hammer slam attack. He felt the air knocked out of his lungs as he was struck and sent flying across the arena. He quickly got back on his feet as he blacked out for a few seconds. The enemy commander jumped up with his power suit and tried to land on him but he rolled out of the way. Seginorishippu assaulted the commander with another volley of his machine gun from a distance, the attacks only enraging the leader as he ran around with his deadly weapon. It seemed like he kept shrugging off the bullets. The spy of Malevolent Spirit tossed a grenade at the enemy commander for him to slow down, but he reacted and hammered it back like a golf club. She sprang to her feet and dodged the grenade as it exploded. The enemy had enhanced reflexes due to the armored power suit he was wearing. His hand eye coordination was unparalleled. The commander rushed toward her with his gravity mallet ready to squash her into a bloody pulp while Hikariowataru lept in the way and fired off a few well placed shotgun rounds to knock him off guard. The attack launched him backward for a few seconds. The enemy was jumping in the air to perform a landing attack of three bounces in quick succession, dodging the bullet fire. They scattered when he readied for his grand slam in the middle of the field, creating a shockwave attack that pushed them upward like an earthquake. He wore a mask that intimidated his opponents and he showed no mercy in his attacks. Each attack became more intense. He readied his hammer and prepared for a swift spinning attack that spun around the room. The teams were forced to resort to evasive maneuvers. The teammates quickly inflated and hovered over the field. The heavy of Destined Providence opened fire with a volley of his heavy machine gun but the bullets had no effect and the hammer spun closer and closer to him. The loud spinning sound was accompanied by fiery sparks generated from the spin of his mighty gravity hammer which got louder and more devastating as he spun his hammer. After about thirty seconds of spinning the commander was dizzy and disoriented for a second, unable to move even with his heightened state. This provided the team with a brief opening. The heavy of Malevolent Spirit fired a rocket launcher directly at his back, sending him flying through the wall. There was a loud blaring sound indicating damage for a brief period of time. He quickly recovered from the damage and kept on fighting. The team prepared for another spinning attack and responded accordingly. The spy tossed a pair of grenades which only slowed the mad dictator down and stalled them for an attack on all sides with everything they had. After the volley, the dust settled and the monster was still standing. He wasn't relenting and was only further enraged by the attacks. They kept attacking him and they were still running low on ammo, making it more desperate. Only one clip could make a difference. He showed no sign of tiring.

The commander of the Dees jumped in the air several times before nearly landing on the spy of Destined Providence, crushing her. The heavy of Destined Providence opened fire on him with his heavy machine gun to get his attention. The enemy commander shrugged off the bullets and launched him back, throwing him around like a ragdoll into Seginorishippu and Meinoyonoken. The dictator jumped up in the air and landed onto the ground, leaving an electric shockwave that traveled across the area, the attack sending Akiburedo into shock.

The king lowered his hammer and triggered the face to open up and belch out a powerful flamethrower attack that traveled up and down in an erratic motion. They were forced to get back as the flames incinerated the bullets and the last of the rockets that exploded.

"Our weapons aren't doing anything! He's still standing!"

"Damn! That was my last rocket!" Tetsunoishi shouted.

"We're running low on ammo." the commander of Destined Providence noted.

"I'm just getting warmed up!" the enemy laughed.

"Get a load of this!" The dictator dropped his mighty enhanced hammer on the ground and pressed a red button, revealing a hatch near the face of the hammer, launching a series of ten deadly heat seeking missiles.

"Missiles airborne! Evasive maneuvers!" the commander shouted as he was launched upward from the blast. The missiles crashed near all the puffballs at once. Suddenly everything went black. The crowd was cheering.

The puffballs were overwhelmed by the assault and were unable to react quickly enough. Pinkobashi felt his comrades flying in the air and saw them being shocked. They were launched directly into the electric voltage, the intense pain zapping through their bodies and leaving them limp. Pinkobashi screamed. After a few seconds he recovered his senses and noticed the enemy. He noticed all of his comrades struggling to move, knocked out. The commander was snatching the weapons of his friends one by one and throwing them to a bunch of Dees. They were about to be added to his collection and the puffballs were utterly defenseless. He wanted to let them suffer before he finished them off. Pinkobashi heard the chants of the Dees cheering on their dear leader. They would soon be captured or worse.

His heart was racing. His weapon was right in front of him. He struggled to grab it. The commander stepped on his weapon with his right foot and grabbed him in front of the whole crowd while he gloated. All he could see was the masked enemy staring him in the face.

"This is the best that Amerikirb has to offer!? Your time is up! Now you're history!" the enemy bragged.

The enemy was ready for a final desperate charge ready to crush them. The pink blur fired his rifle but the leader dodged the shots from his rifle. He heard the click of his gun when he pulled the trigger and struck the empty gun directly alongside the commander's masked head.

"Foolish boy! You may keep resisting us, but know this! Your! Any last words?!"

"Swallow this!"

"Ha!"

Pinkobashi immediately tossed a powerful grenade right in his face at point blank range, the final blast sending him flying through the wall and out through the fortress. The impact left a massive five foot hole in the area. The commander collided into a pile of rubble that fell right on top of him, the barriers weighing several tons. That blast was solid. All Pinkobashi could see was a hand lifting itself up from the wreckage.

The commander emerged from the rubble but was unable to get up. He saw that his great armor was destroyed, his hammer smashed, and his intimidating metal mask shattered in two. Upon the shock of losing, his heart gave out and he collapsed from his injury. His dreams of conquest were shattered. The puffballs quickly grabbed a pair of handcuffs and restrained the insane leader in front of the crowd of Dees. Pinkobashi ran and punched the penguin commander in the face, he was pinned to the mat, coughing up blood.

"That was for Seifonofukoshu!" the pink blur shouted as he pummeled him. The commander recoiled from the punch like a coward. He was no longer invincible. "You took him away! I'll never forgive you! You're useless without your armor!"

"You're useless without your resolve!"

"And that resolve is how we Amerikirbans win!" He delivered a knockout punch and shut him up for good. Now the Dees were outraged. The cameras were right on him and the Dees were speechless.

"You did it Pinko! I'm proud of you." Seginorishippu commended the latest warrior to join his squad. Kanashimiobingu grabbed Pinkobashi and lifted him up as if he won a game.

The Dees in the crowd were utterly shocked and dumbfounded by the looks on their faces. They then cheered. The enemy leader was defeated right in front of them. The Dees jumped out of their seats and stormed the stands, ready to descend upon them in revenge for what they did to their leader. They wanted blood and vowed swift capital punishment.

The commander of Destined Providence quickly withdrew his cell phone from his pocket. They quickly recovered their weapons while they heard marching troops and treads.

A pair of two heavy tanks were rolling up to their position and ready to open fire with their main cannons aimed at them.

"This is Commander Akiburedo of Destined Providence. Target has been neutralized. Repeat. Target has been neutralized. Requesting immediate air support! Over."

"Roger that. ETA 30 seconds. ST-239 in position."

They heard a massive explosion through the ceiling of the fortress. The rubble broke the steel danger cage over the arena and caused it to fall on a section of the arena, leaving sparks to fly and the power generator to burst into flame and explode. The hazard vanished in seconds. The cords fell into the stands and zapped a few Dees.

"What's that?" Pinkobashi pointed up at three shadows descending on their position.

"Our ticket out of here!"

The gunfire from overhead boomed over the horizon. They saw a group of three blue Amerikirban VTOL gunships hover down. They were specially modified St-239-H planes. The twin barreled machine guns open fire on the enemy forces, blasting the infantry away. The enemy soldiers were opening fire on the position but were overwhelmed by the gunfire, reduced to ashes. As the tanks were ready to open fire on one of the gunships, it fired a pair of heat seeking missiles to annihilate one of the tanks. More troops were closing in on their position determined to reclaim their fallen. They had to get out as soon as possible.

"Cavalry has arrived!" Tetsuinoishi shouted.

"Hell yeah!" Suifutosenko rejoinded.

"Amerikirb! Fuck yeah! Coming again to save the motherfucking day! Yeah!"

"Fuck yeah!" Seitekinsagi spouted.

"Let's get out of here!" Seginorishippu noted.

They all grabbed their weapons and boarded the aircraft that quickly took off. They could hear the gunfire and explosions from the anti aircraft missile batteries and the dogfights overhead. Right when they were taking off another garrison of enemy tanks were reduced to smoldering wrecks. Within a few minutes, they quickly saw that the DeDessians stopped firing, lowered their weapons and were surrendering. They were retreating and at the mercy of Amerikirban troops. It was a miracle. They had no will to fight. In about a three hour flight, they arrived close to a safe zone occupied by Amerikirban forces. The enemy commander was ready to be tried for numerous war crimes against the international community in the coming weeks. They then received a live video message from the President of the United States of Amerikirb. They held up the weary body of the enemy commander. They were then congratulated by the most powerful man in the world in his personal office. All of them smiled with glee.

"The target has been secured, Mister President!" Seginorishippu declared.

"Congratulations, Destined Providence and Malevolent Spirit. Operation Fallen King was a massive success thanks to your efforts."

"No problem! I knew you could do it!"

"With pleasure, Mister President."

"You will all be awarded for your efforts in due time. You're all being promoted and receiving medals of honor from me personally tomorrow. A hero's welcome is for you." The message ended.

Pinkobashi was unexpectedly kissed by Hikariowataru on the lips and they quickly hugged.

"Someone's jealous! He's mine" Seitekinasagi noted as he glanced. Pinkobashi was hers.

"Okay, you two!" Pinkobashi tried to pull them apart. The rest of the team laughed.

"A hero's work is never done." Pinkobashi hugged both of the female soldiers close together. He then quickly dozed off into sleep as his friends quieted down.

The team rested in the facility as they were soon delivered home for a massive ceremony in their honor at their nation's capital. The Great DeDeDe War was finally over. Ten years of hell were gone in an instant. There was calm after the storm. Pinkobashi's nightmares faded. It was game over for DeDessia's military and they had no choice but to surrender. Dreams finally became reality for the people of Pop Star as the enemies of freedom and justice were soundly defeated. It would take years for the world to materially rebuild and even longer to heal the wounds caused by the conflict. No one could predict what was about to happen next. They had to all remain active in the event of another emerging threat. All of the questions had to be answered next. Hell would definitely emerge again. It was not a question of if, but when.
