After Kagura finished washing out his eyes, Ragna was finally able to continue his story of how he met Silver. It was long, some part were a laugh, others were actually pretty romantic. Though the one that threw off everyone in the room… was also the elephant in it.
"Uh… I'm sorry, but did you say… that you're from another planet?" Noel questioned.
"Yep. Planet Vegeta, born and raised. Which, might I add, doesn't come anywhere near close as this world in terms of beauty." Silver casually replied with a smile.
Everyone just stared at Silver, not bothering to reply. They looked at her as if she was crazy or something. Ragna wasn't at all shocked. He just sat there with that same smile on his face.
"I knew it! Ragna drugged her with something! It's the only logical explanation as to why she likes him too!" Tsubaki shouted while pointing at the duo.
"Nope. No drugs. It's true. She's a real alien. Trust me." Ragna replied in a laid back tone.
As expected, there was silence, then there was grinning, then there was laughter… then there was silence again…. then shock.
"Huh? No way. You're serious? The head of the Gokuzuki family… is… a… a…" Makoto couldn't even finish.
"A freakin' alien? Like Supergirl? Kagura finished.
Ragna and Silver nodded, leaving Kagura with a dropped jaw. Heck, everyone's jaws dropped. We're they actually serious? Silver is a space woman?
"Something like that. I still can't believe you made head of the family in five years, Sil. I didn't think that was possible, especially for an outsider!" Ragna said in disbelief.
"Neither can I. But I managed to prove myself to them. You should have seen the look on Yoshi's face when my foster dad appointed me over his real son." Silver replied while giggling.
"Can't say I blame them. That guy was like Billy Madison." Laughed Ragna.
"Ragna, your girlfriend is an alien and that is what your focusing on?!" Noel interrupted.
"Of course he would, Noel. Ragna, much like that ape beside him, is driven by his primal urges to lay claim to a mate like a small minded animal."
A new voice had entered the room. Everyone turned to the cafeteria entrance and saw a small figure walking towards them. It was a little girl, appearing about twelve years old. She had long blond pigtails held together by black ribbons that looked like bunny ears, as well as a gothic black with red dress with a large red bow on her chest, as well as black high heals. Beside her was a big, obese black cat and a an abnormally large red bat flying on her other side. Her eyes were also void of all emotion and as red as blood.
The girl stared at both Ragna and Silver with pure distain in her red eyes. Oh, how well Ragna knew this little girl. Too well in fact.
"You could say he is as much a monkey as Silver." The girl insulted the duo.
"Ms. Rachel? When did you get here?" Noel said, surprised by the girl's sudden appearance into the room.
"Heyyy, there's the rabbit. Right on cue with the verbal abuse as always…" Ragna huffed in frustration.
Rachel Alucard. The vampiric Observer who Ragna knew since childhood. After his home burned down and he was left for dead, Rachel arrived on the scene and found the butchered boy on his last ropes. And in a swift act of pity, Rachel saved Ragna's life by bitting him before he could bleed out, turning him into a half vampire. Since then, she had not only followed, but also tormented Ragna everywhere he went like some crazy ex girlfriend. This irritated Ragna to the point that he started to call Rachel 'the rabbit' due to her hair bows.
Though, as much as Rachel enjoyed tormenting the Grim Reaper, it would seem her focus, and sheer hatred, was directed more to Silver for some reason, who looked back at Alucard with a cocky grin.
"Well well, Rachel Alucard. It's been a long time since I saw you. What's wrong? You on PMS? Oh no, wait. That's all the time." Gokuzuki insulted.
"Silver. I see becoming head of the Gokuzuki family has done little to silence that filthy mouth of yours. It is a wonder why Ragna is so infatuated with you." Rachel shot back.
"Ooooh! Hi Silver! Good to see you again!" The cat greeted.
"Wow! You sure look different from back then. You were still as small as the princess when we last saw-"
*CLONK*
*SMACK*
"GAH!"
"OOF!"
As if on cue, Rachel struck both the cat and bat in their faces with her right hand, leaving red marks behind.
"Princess, that hurt! What was that for?" They both whimpered.
"Nago, Gii. You two know better than to acknowledge that filthy tramp monkey! She is beneath even that ameba over there." Rachel aggressively scolded.
"Hey! Talk about me as much as you want, Rabbit, but don't go badmouthing Ragna for no reason!" Silver snapped.
The others were astonished. Silver was not only talking back to Rachel without any hesitation, but was also protecting Ragna from her hurtful words. Proof that she really does care about the rebel a lot.
"Oh? And what makes you think that you can just tell me who I can and cannot insult, you flea ridden space lemur?" Rachel spat.
"One reason is because you and I both know that I can take you in a fight, another because it's mean, and another being that you're just a spoiled brat who gets off on making others miserable who thinks the world revolves around her." Silver replied, standing up from her chair.
Rachel face was plastered with a look of hurt shock while Silver smile arrogantly. Everyone else in the background were on the edge of their seat as they watched the argument.
"That Silver has to be the bravest or dumbest girl I've ever met. She's actually badmouthing Rachel back!" Makoto exclaimed.
"Oh, we're just getting started." Ragna replied.
The day progressed quickly and soon turned to night. Everyone has gone off to their respective rooms for rest, except for Ragna and Silver, who were traversing the branch halls whilst still talking.
"Well, Ragna. Your new friends seemed nice." Silver commented.
"Yeah, they have their moments. I'm just glad Jin and I haven't killed each other yet." Ragna replied, earning a giggle from Silver.
"So, when are you going to tell me why your right eye and arm aren't working?"
"Huh?"
She was right. Ragna's right eye was closed, and he hadn't moved his right arm the entire time, indicating that they were numb. Ragna must have become to use to it that he didn't even notice it anymore.
"Oh. Uh, yeah. That's… complicated. You know Celica? That girl from earlier, with the ribbon in her hair."
Silver nodded.
"She's got a… Special power. Speaking of… We should be a good enough distance from her right about…"
And like magic, Ragna's eye opened up and he was able to move his right arm again. He chuckled at this, happy to regain fiction of his appendage. Silver was only left with more questions than before.
"Celica has the ability to nullify all Seither around her. Which means it can also effect me too."
Silver tilted her head in confusion.
"You know that the Azure Grimoire is comprised entirely of Seither, right? Celica's power can render it totally useless, and since the upper right half of my body's been corroded by it, it leaves my upper right side numb." He finished.
"Whoa. That's… really scary. I didn't know there was someone who can do that to you, just by standing near you." Silver said in both amazement and worry.
"It sucks a bit, but I can manage. And it's not like Celica does it on purpose. She can't help it." Ragna replied.
"I see. Well, as long as you're ok. Aside from your new friends, I'm surprised you're even going along with Kagura's plan to overtake the Imperator. Knowing you, you'd just go it alone, and not bother to ask for help, Rambo." Silver giggled.
"Not like I have a choice in the matter, considering the bomb Kokonoe put in me."
Silver went wide eyed. Bomb?!
"At least, I think. I don't know, she just be pulling my chain to get me to behave."
"A bomb? What, she couldn't have just strapped a spray collar around your neck?!"
This made Ragna snicker in response. Though from the look on Silver's face, that wasn't meant to be a joke. Ragna's smirk vanished.
"Ragna, I'm being serious! How could she do that to you?"
"Whoa! Sil, it's ok. I'm fine."
"No, it's not fine, Ragna! You two are comrades and she's threatening your life to keep you controlled! That's awful! Where is she?! I'm gonna give her a piece of my mind!"
Silver's temper began to flare, making Ragna feel a tad concerned. He could clearly see the amount of rage that, despite her growing temper, Silver was trying to hold back, but was failing.
"Hey! Silver, calm down!" Ragna urged.
"How are you ok with this?! Noel told me that she helped you three months ago back in Kagutsuchi! So why would you..! Would would you Just pretend that this isn't..!"
"Sil?"
Ragna started seeing small gold sparks begin to emanate from Silver's body. This only added on to Ragna's worry. If he didn't calm her down, something could happen. So he grabbed Silver's shoulders and looked her dead in the eye.
"Sil!" He called.
Silver heard him and snapped out of her enraged trance. She looked up into Ragna's eyes, and to Ragna's surprise, he noticed that Silver's jet black eyes had turned a shining emerald green. The energy flashed ceased as she finally calmed down.
"There we go. Breath. In and out." He instructed.
Silver complied. Taking deep breaths to calm her nerves.
This was something Silver was infamous for. Her temper was even bigger than Ragna's, so much so that she could even end up attacking someone. He had known this since they trained together under Jubei. So Ragna had come up with an exercise to help her tame her rage.
"There we go. Nice and easy." He hushed.
Silver took one last deep breath before finally regaining her composure, and her eyes returned to normal.
"I'm sorry. I lost my temper." She apologized.
"It's ok. Although, what just happened with your eyes?" Ragna asked.
"My eyes?" Silver questioned.
"They turned green."
"They did..? Oh! Oh, uh… I've been meaning to talk to you about that… C'mon, let's go the room I'm staying in tonight.
Later, they arrived in Silver's temporary quarters. Upon entry, she locked the door behind her and shit the blinds covering the windows. Ragna was getting a little uncomfortable with Silver's strange behavior, wondering why she need so much privacy.
"Silver… What is going on? Oh no, you're gonna beat me up." He assumed.
"What? No. Why would I- I'm not gonna beat you up, dummy." Silver assured.
"Well you use to, back in the day." Ragna replied.
Silver sighed and pinched her forehead in annoyance.
"Ok. Ragna, something happened to me a few months ago. That's what I want to tell you and why I brought you here." She explained.
"Oh. Alright."
Now calmed down, Ragna took a seat on Silver's bed.
"What's up?" He asked.
Silver took a deep breath before she spoke.
"Ragna… A few months ago… Something happened to me."
She looked nervous, like she was confessing to a crime.
"There was… an incident at a New Years party my family was celebrating. One of the guests started badmouthing you, like it was the latest gossip. Saying you were monster… A psycho… A…"
She paused. Ragna could see hesitation in her eyes. Did Silver get upset with guest and do something stupid? He could easily understand that, considering both his infamous reputation as a criminal and how Silver views him. However, with how desperate Silver looks right now to find the courage to continue, what could she have possibly done? And what does this have to do with that strange phenomena that happened earlier?
"I got mad. Really mad. I shouted at her to shut up, she just scoffed and kept badmouthing you. Then she said that… the world would be better off without you in it."
Her face. It went from a look of hesitation to one of shame. Ragna's face softened. He hated seeing Silver like this.
"Sil… You know I don't get bothered about that kind of stuff." He responded.
"Well I do! She didn't know you! Know what you went through! That's gives her no right to say those things about you, Ragna." Silver replied aggressively, looking away from Ragna.
Unseen to both of them, small traces of golden energy began to radiate from Silver's feet, and slowly traveled up her body.
"Hey, I get that. But you know people are entitled to their own opinions. And with everything I did, can you really blame someone for talking like that? It's just a person's views on the subject."
Silver's fist tightened. Frustration quickly took hold of her. She finally turned her gaze back to Ragna, eyes green as emeralds.
"BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT!"
With that single shout, Silver erupted with golden energy, generating a small shockwave that blew away many small objects in the room. Ragna was blown off the bed from the blast and crashed into the wall. The impact hurt his head, but a headache was the least of his worries right now.
"Whoa! W-what in the?!" He exclaimed
Silver stood surrounded by a bright golden light, brightening the room like a mini-sun. Her hair was also a majestic gold and flowing in the air from the energy she emitted, and her eyes went from black to green once again. Silver didn't even realize that she entered this strange form until she saw the shock in Ragna's face, and pulled out a little hand mirror from her pocket to see what she had become.
"Oh no. Not again." She sighed in annoyance.
"Sil… How did you..? What is this?" Ragna questioned.
She put away her mirror and frustratedly ruffled her glowing hair.
"UGH! That's just it, Ragna! I have no idea! It just flares up when I get angry." Silver tried to explain.
"Is this what happened at the party?" Ragna asked, standing back up.
Silver didn't respond. She only nodded shamefully.
"The shockwave I generated blew away the guests and shattered the windows. No one was hurt, but a lot of the guests were scared after. My family tried to keep the incident hush-hush, but it got out to the rest of the Duodecim. I mean, it's only a rumor right now, but…"
She gripped her arm tightly and looked away.
"The way they looked at me. It was like how my people viewed me… I have no idea what this is, and it almost got someone hurt. I wanted to tell you because…"
Silver hesitated.
"Who am I kidding? I'm sorry. This was a mistake." She apologized.
"What? Mistake? Sil, why would you think that?" Ragna questioned.
"Ragna, how could I think you could relate this? I'm a Saiyan." She replied.
"And I'm a artificial human who was born in a test tube with a giant eight-headed monster inside his right arm! Don't think for a second I can't relate to someone struggling with a new and scary power."
Silver turned her gaze back to Ragna and smiled hopefully. Ragna smiled right back and approached his lover, then caressed the side of her face. He was in awe at Silver's strange new power.
"What do you think it could be?" Silver asked.
"Not sure. Maybe it's an Overdrive?" Ragna guessed.
An Overdrive is a function where a human's Drive ability is pushed to its maximum potential. It is very difficult to achieve, and is very dangerous because it consumes more Seither than its original state.
Though, this power wasn't like any Overdrive Ragna had seen before. And he could feel that it wasn't consuming ANY Seither around them, which was odd. Maybe Rachel or Kokonoe would know more.
"Well, whatever it is, you make it look good." Ragna joked.
Silver giggled at this.
"C'mon. I'm being serious about this." She responded.
"So am I."
They both laughed, and soon enough, Silver's hair and eyes returned to normal, now that her rage had subsided.
"Looks like it wore off." Ragna pointed out.
"Yeah. It only lasts so long as I'm angry. Once I calm down, it turns off." Silver replied.
The two then sat down on the bed, Ragna's hand gripping Silver's. The two stared into each others eyes and smiled.
"So you're ok with helping Kagura and Kokonoe? Even with a bomb in you?" She asked.
"Probably would have helped either way."
"Really?"
Ragna smiled warmly.
"Cuz now, I finally have things I wanna protect."
He took her hand into his own.
"Not just you, Sil. But others too. I think I finally found that thing I wanna fight for."
Silver looked at Ragna in awe. Never had she heard him say that he wanted to fight to protect someone. As long as she could remember, Ragna only cared about revenge. What brought on such a change?
"Ragna…"
She just stared at him. That smile. That smile, bright as the sun. She couldn't take it anymore. Silver pounced him, smacking her mouth over his own. Ragna was caught off guard at first, but soon followed suit and kissed back. They continued for a full minute before breaking to breath.
"Message received." He said, making Silver giggle.
Ragna wrapped his arms around Silver's waste and pulled her in close. The tips of their noses nudging against each other in an adorable fashion.
"How long are you gonna be around for?" Asked Bloodedge.
"A couple of days. Just because you're here doesn't mean Kagura immediately won me over." Gokuzuki replied.
"In that case, I plan on spending as much time with you as I possibly can."
The two kissed again, then stared into each other's eyes, both of them smiling warmly.
"I'm glad I'm able to see you again, my Grim Reaper."
"Same to you, my White Star."
The two embraced each other once more, and all that was heard throughout the night were the sounds of passion…
Passion… that could be heard through the walls.
"Whoa! When did you learn to bend like that, Sil?!"
"Oh honey, you have no idea what I can do!"
Noel and Makoto just so happened to be in the kitchen one floor below Ragna and Silver's room. The walls of the branch were pretty thin, so they were hearing everything. The screams of passion, the shaking of the bed, Bon Jovi's 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead' blasting. All more than enough to unsettle the girls.
"They're aware of how thin these walls are, right?" Makoto awkwardly asked.
"I think it's kinda romantic." Noel replied.
Or so she thought until…
"BWAHAHAHA! I have you now, Princess Peach!"
"Oh Bowser, please be gentle!"
God save them… Role play…
Makoto: "Wanna go out to eat?"
Noel: "Good Idea!"
…
*Long ago.*
...
"They went this way!"
"Find the Grim One!"
"Bring it to the king and queen!"
Voices. Voices overflowing with hate was all she could hear behind her. She didn't know what they wanted. To kill her? Molest her? She didn't want to know. She just kept running as fast as her legs could take her from the hoard.
"C'mon, Karrotta! We gotta keep moving!"
Luckily, she wasn't alone.
A man was pulling her along by her arm, clearly in an attempt to help her escape the mob. It was a tall man, chiseled muscles adorned his body accompanied by wild black hair. They continued to run until they reached a strange contraption of sorts. The man went up to the machine's control panel and began to input a command. The machine lite up and began to hover slightly off the ground.
"Get in." The man instructed.
"Huh?"
He picked her up and placed her gently into the machine, then closed the hatch shut. She tried to get out, but it was too late.
"What are you doing?!" She asked fearfully.
"What does it look like? Making sure you get out of here alive." The man replied.
"What about you?! They're gonna kill you for helping me! Open the hatch and get inside!"
"Karrotta, there's only room in this pod for one, so I can't fit anyway. Besides, someone needs to make sure you don't get shot out of orbit by an energy blast."
"Don't do this! You're all I have!"
"You are my cousin. It's my job to protect you, remember? What kind of man would I be if I couldn't keep you safe?"
Tear began to stream down her face. She pressed her hand against the glass, the man did the same, and started to cry as well.
"Remember that planet I told you about? The one I kept secret from our king because I didn't wanna see it destroyed? That's where your heading. You'll be safe there, and they'll more than accept you. You can finally live that life you wanted."
She sniffles as she continued to cry.
"You'll be free to do whatever you want. Free from ridicule and hatred. Free from this crap planet."
"I can't! Not without you!"
"Unfortunately, you're gonna have to."
The man began inputting the coordinates for the pod and it began to hover off the ground. She only struggled to get out even hard now.
"No! Let me out! Don't do this-"
"KAKAROT!"
A shout filled their ears. The man turned to see another staring them down, his eyes burning with anger. The man, Kakarot, stood in front of the pod in a defensive manor, clearly ready for fight.
"What do you think you're doing?! Shut that pod down and give us the Grim One!"
"That's not happening!"
"As your prince, I order you to move."
Kakarot smirked. Finally, the pod blasted off into the air at blinding speed. The prince saw and began to concentrate energy in his hand, attempting to blast it clean out of the sky. Kakarot however dashed towards the man and tackled him to the ground, halting his attack.
"You won't hurt my cousin, Vegeta!"
As she blasted off, she watched in horror as the one person who cared about her soon vanished from her sight.
"Kakarot! KAKAROOOOOOOOT!!!"
…
"AHH!"
Silver awoke in a sweaty panic. Her heart racing from the nightmare she witnessed. It was of her childhood. The moment her life changed forever. The moment she lost her only family…
She soon got a hold of herself and rubbed her eyes to get out the crust build up.
"Damnit… Not again…" She groaned.
Silver would get these dreams every now and again, just when she thought they would finally stop too. Then they would happen all over again, like a broken record. It was extremely irritating.
"Can't get these dreams out of my fucking head. *huff* I need some water…"
She got up, then exited her bedroom to head for the kitchen. Once there, she pulled out a glass and the filtered jug, filling up to the top and taking a much needed sip. Silver noticed the time. 3 AM. Very early, but she didn't care. She didn't really care about anything anymore. She was alone.
Ragna. Her Grim Reaper. He was gone…
"Ragna… *sniff*"
It had been a month since the battle with the Takemikazuchi. The city destroying super weapon from outer space that the Imperator, Hades: Izanami tried to use to destroy the Master Unit with. A month since Terumi opened the Nemesis Horizon and summoned the Master Unit: Amaterasu into the world to destroy it. A month since Kushinada's Lynchpin was deployed to attempt to stop Izanami…
A month since Izanami turned Ragna into a monster… and then made disappear.
She remembers when Kagura told her what happened in Ibukido. How they had lost him. She didn't believe it. Screamed at them why they didn't try to save him. Why they just left him. How she had nearly smashed Kagura's face in, saying that he was like everyone else in the world. Hating a man who lost everything, like her. It was unforgivable.
What was worse was when she ran into Tsubaki afterwards. That was when she snapped.
…
*Flashback*
…
"Bastard..! How could he leave him..?"
Silver stormed out of Kagura's office, tears running down her face. They had just left Ragna to die. They didn't even TRY to help him. The only ones who did were Jin and Noel, but it nearly cost them their lives. That was because they were alone. Some dream team…
"Unforgivable…" She mumbled.
As she walked, she bumped into someone along the way.
"Excuse me! Be carefu-"
"Watch where the fuck you're going!" She shouted.
"Lady Gokuzuki?"
It was Tsubaki. Though it didn't change Silver's expression. She knew how Yayoi felt about Ragna as well.
"Are… Are you ok?" Tsubaki asked out of concern.
"I hope you're happy. You got what you wanted. He's gone. Justice is served." Silver sarcastically spat.
At first, Tsubaki didn't know what she was talking about, and then it hit her.
"Are you talking about… Ragna the Bloodedge?"
Silver merely stared at her.
So much sadness in her eyes. Tsubaki couldn't work the strength to look her in the eye. She know how Silver felt about Ragna. Even though she herself couldn't stand the fact that he, a horrendous murder was involved with a high ranking Duodecum member, she understood that she cared about him, but why, that she didn't know.
"You didn't even try to help him when Izanami turned him into that monster. Was he really so "evil" that you wouldn't help a suffering man when he needs his comrades the most?" Silver scolded angrily.
"Lady Gokuzuki, understand. There wasn't anything any of us could do. In a state like that, there would have been no helping Ragna the Bloodedge. Jin and Noel tried the best they could, but…"
"That's because you and all the other ones were too chicken to try and help them! You're nothing but cowards!"
Silver was now right up in Tsubaki's face. Her eyes, while still sad, now had a mix of anger within.
"Silver…"
"Don't!" Gokuzuki interrupted.
Tsubaki took a step back. Silver was starting to test her patience with her hostility.
"Ragna was Jin's brother. His family. Did you think about that? You said that you care more about Jin than anything! So why didn't you try and help him save his family? Answer that, Yayoi!"
Finally, Tsubaki snapped.
"Anyone who nearly slaughters their little brother the way Ragna the Bloodedge did doesn't deserve to be saved!"
Silver acquired a look of shock.
"And it wasn't any monster Ragna the Bloodedge turned into! It was the Black Beast, the enemy of the world! Who in their right mind would try and save monster that nearly wiped out Humanity?!"
Her words were like dagger's in Silver's heart.
"I can't understand why you care about that terrorist so much, Lady Gokuzuki! Such a monster as him should be eradicated! All of this is his own fault! His fault that Noel and Jin are-"
"STOP IT!"
A glass shattering scream erupted from Silver's throat, stopping Tsubaki from talking any further.
"You can hide behind your so-called justice, behind Noel and Jin, but don't you ever say what happened was Ragna's fault! Izanami turned him into that… 'thing'!" She shouted.
The two just stared at each other furiously. Tsubaki didn't even realize that she had Izayoi ready in her right hand, while Silver's fists were glowing slightly. One wrong move could lead to a bloodbath.
"Why do you care about him so much? How can you just overlook the lives he's taken for his own goals?" Tsubaki questioned.
"Because I know Ragna! The REAL Ragna! He would never, EVER, hurt the people he loves! You see him as a monster, but I see him as a man who has gone through so much pain that it's a miracle he even has the resolve to push forward!
Tears streamed down her face once more.
"Ragna is kind, caring, a misunderstood man. One who suffered from tragedies beyond recovery. All he wanted was to have his family back. To live a normal life."
Each word hurt Silver's heart more and more. She didn't know if she could take the pain, but she had to defend the man she loved.
"He saved Noel in Kagutsuchi, twice. He stopped Terumi from destroying the Master Unit before, and if he's still alive, he'll do it again. He…"
She swallowed.
"He saved my life!"
Tsubaki gasped.
"So no, Ragna the Bloodedge is nowhere near evil."
Before she finished, Silver turned around and started walking away.
"He's a HERO. One that I intend to save!"
One final tear fell down her face as she walked. Back turned to Tsubaki as if she didn't exist.
"I see. Well then, Lady Gokuzuki. If that is how you truly feel…"
With lightning speed, Tsubaki charged Silver from behind, her sword ready to skewer.
"Then I cannot allow you to make me break my promise to Madam Rachel!"
And in one quick swing upwards, Tsubaki slashed Silver's back. But upon contact with her very skin, Izayoi just snapped like a rusty knife. The blade flew through the air and dig into a nearby statue.
Tsubaki couldn't believe it. The Izayoi shattered! And it didn't even scratch Silver. Shock riddled her face. While in its sealed state, Izayoi may have been a small short sword, but it was still strong enough to cut through Tager's most armored body parts like cheese. And when it hit Silver, it broke.
'What?!' Yayoi mentally exclaimed.
Silver slowly turned around. Her eyes went from black to the ethereal green from before. Her rage was sky high.
"Promise?"
And with a twist of her body, she backhanded Tsubaki in the face so hard that she went flying to the wall, embedding her into the concrete. Silver then grabbed Tsubaki by the throat and began strangling her with one hand. She gasped for air and thrashed wildly to break free, but Silver's grip was like a vice.
"What promise?!" Silver shouted.
But before she could further question Tsubaki, someone grabbed her other arm.
"Silver, put her down!"
She looked to her left and saw Celica, trying to get her to release Tsubaki from her grasp.
"Please Silver, she doesn't understand Ragna's situation. Let her go!" Celica begged.
Silver wanted to argue, but seeing the look of fear on Celica's face was enough to snap her out if her rage. She released Tsubaki from her grasp and then started to run away. Silver looked back for an instant, seeing Celica tending to Tsubaki. She almost killed her. An innocent human. She may have badmouthed Ragna, and attacked her, but that doesn't make Silver judge, jury, and executioner. It was at that moment, she was what she truly was… What she dreaded… Her true self…
A filthy, bloodthirsty Saiyan…
…
*Present*
…
*CRASH*
With a swing of her fist, Silver smashed her kitchen island into pieces. Tears streamed down her face like a river. All this strength she had, and she couldn't do anything to save Ragna, or even her cousin. She felt completely powerless.
"Ragna! Kakarot! I'm so sorry!" She screamed hopelessly.
Silver fell to her knees crying, ashamed of her own weakness. Her people were so afraid of her, but why? She was so weak. So pathetic. What could they have been so afraid of that they would cast her out like the plague?
"I can't just sit here and do nothing! Ragna needs me! What do I do?! WHAT DO I DO?!" She cried out.
Something. There had to have been something she could do. Soon enough, Silver's tears stopped and she regained her composure. There was only one thing she can do. The answer was clear.
"I… I have to save him."
If she didn't act now, who knows what Izanami would do to him. She had to take action for once in her life.
Silver walked back upstairs and stripped off her kimono, exposing her nude body. A slender figure, but was cover head to toe in powerful muscles, not gigantic, but toned to her figure. C cup breasts accompanied her chest and her perfectly shaped rump only added onto her beauty. Silver opened her closet and pulled out the outfit and weapons inside.
The outfit was a pair of baggy white pants with white flames at the ends of the legs, along with a black chest binder and hair tie shaped like a gorilla's skull. The weapons were two jagged edged kama scythes, one with white a handle and black blade, while the other was in reverse colors. There were small attachments on the butts of the handles, which must mean that they can connect to form one weapon.
'Ying and Yang. The scythes Ragna and Master Jubei made me.' Silver thought.
It had been a long time since Silver dawned this outfit. But now she had to more than ever. Quickly, she changed, sharpened her blades, and headed back down stairs. She reached her kitchen, where her back door was.
She reached for the nob, but stopped, for she felt something on the other side of the door. Another presence. A powerful one. Silver reached for one of her scythes and took a step back from the door, before lunging and breaking it down.
She then brought her scythe down on the intruder on the other side. It was quickly blocked by the blade of a sword. Silver got a look at her opponent. It was Hakumen, the leader of the Six Heroes. Why was he here? That didn't matter. If he came for a fight, he would get one. Silver reached for her other scythe and they both began to radiate a black energy. She then slashed Hakumen in a cross motion.
"GRIM CROSS!!!"
The force of the attack push Hakumen back, but he wasn't even phased. He quickly retaliated with a counter attack.
"Empty Sky Form: WINTER'S RIPOSTE!!!"
With a fast dash, Hakumen hit Silver with a very power slashing attack. Normally, that could cleave a person in two, but when the sword hit Silver's skin, it didn't even leave a single scratch on her. Her skin was like steel.
Silver grabbed Hakumen by the hair and whipped him across the yard, but he quickly recovered and landed without issue.
"The Grimalkin was right. You are powerful, lover of the Dark One." He commended her.
Hakumen noticed Silver's scythes were still cloaked with energy. To him, It was an interesting ability to say the least
"That power… Is that your Drive?" He asked.
Silver didn't respond. She merely glared.
"It's intriguing. I've never seen one like this before."
He was clearly going to keep pressing on it. She might as well oblige.
"It's called Life Eater. It cloaks my attacks with my own spiritual energy. It even lets me absorb attacks that also use that kind of power, and in the process, replenish my own energy supply." Silver explain, sheathing her weapons.
"I see. It is similar to the Dark One's Soul Eater, and Terumi's Force Eater." Hakumen pondered.
"Why are you here, Hakumen? I don't think it's because you wanted to know about my powers." Silver questioned.
Hakumen sheathed his Ookami.
"I know what you intend to do, Karrotta."
Upon hearing that name, Silver raised an eyebrow. How did he..?
"The cat said that is your true name. I figured you would be more at ease if I referred to you by it." Hakumen explained.
He began to walk towards her stoically. Silver kept her guard up incase he would attack again.
"You are planning to face Hades: Izanami. Correct?"
"How'd you figure?" Silver asked.
He stopped. They were now face to face.
"For the people we love, people do foolish things." Answered the white warrior.
Her face hardened further. So he just came to insult her.
"Tell me, Karrotta. Do you seek death that badly?"
Silver just walked right past him, bumping his side on purpose.
"I seek to save the man I love." She simply said.
"What makes you believe Ragna the Bloodedge is alive?"
She stopped.
"I know he is. He's trapped in that thing in the sky. The "Embryo", or whatever it is. I intend to crack it open and pull him out."
"Crack it open? Heh. How naive you are." Hakumen chuckled.
"How so?" Silver asked.
"The Embryo is a collection of hundreds upon thousands of human souls taken form. It is essentially the Azure in material form. It cannot be "cracked open"."
Silver turned back around also.
"Think I care? I don't care if it's the moon! I'll break it like a walnut!" She argued.
"How ignorant can you be? Even if you somehow gain entry to the Embryo, you still have Izanami to face. What you intend is more than a suicidal mission." Hakumen pointed out.
No response from Gokuzuki.
"Far be it from me to tell someone how they wish to end their life… My only request is that you wait eleven more months before so."
Silver gasped in shock. She couldn't even respond.
"You're movements were slightly slower than expected, as if you were conserving energy. That… and that pregnant lady amount of chocolate in your recycling bin over there..." Hakumen said, pointing to the end of the yard where Silver's garbage was.
Silver felt slightly embarrassed by that remark. She did A LOT of chocolate that day. She then quickly took a defense position to protect her stomach.
"Oh, so that's it?! You found out and now you want to stop his spawn?! Is that it?!"
Hakumen shook his head.
"It doesn't matter if it is the Dark One's child or not. There is no honor or justice in killing a child. Fear not, no harm will befall your baby."
Silver felt a trace of relief. She's glad Hakumen isn't going to attack her child, but that does not answer why Hakumen is here.
"Then why are you here, Masked Freak?" She questioned one more time.
He chuckled. That was what Ragna called him. They really are two peas in a pod.
"I am here to offer my apologies."
Apologies? Now Silver was confused.
"Understand this, Ragna the Bloodedge is my eternal enemy that I must destroy, that will never change. However, being forcibly transformed into the Black Beast is a fate not even he deserves."
Hakumen looked down at his feet in shame.
"If I had not charged Izanami so recklessly and been transported away, perhaps I could have stopped his change. It is my fault he is in this situation. For whatever it's worth… I'm sorry."
Silver's heart sank. A single tear fell from her face. Did Hakumen just apologize to her, for failing to save his nemesis? Did Hell freeze over? Still, that apology. That one act of kindness. It was like the sweetest of honey to Silver's soul.
"It… It's worth a lot." She replied.
The two were silent for a few seconds. Neither sure how to respond next. So Silver just turned her back and began to walk away, resuming her mission.
"You still intend on fighting Hades?" Hakumen asked.
Silver didn't respond.
"Karrotta, if you face her, you will be begging for death."
She stopped.
"…Once I'm done, she'll be the one begging to die."
…
