So it turned out that not everyone arrived on the first day. The students arrived a day before the ship actually set sail, but there was nothing that said that they couldn't come with everyone else. We were supposed to be getting one more student but Mr. Moseby was a little bit coy on who it was. Part of me didn't care because I was focused on Maya, but part of me wanted to know who this mysterious new student was. I was basically getting ready for work at the bar with Maya when Bailey suddenly ran over to us.

"You guys are not going to believe who's here!" She gushed. I assumed that it was someone famous because Bailey only acted like that around celebrities.

"Who?" Maya asked. She didn't know Bailey acted like that around celebrities because she hadn't been around.

"TJ Tyler!" Bailey declared. TJ Tyler was a bit of a legend in the music business. My dad had performed with her a few times before but I had never personally met her. I was a bit surprised that they were able to keep the fact that we would be having such a high profile passenger a secret.

"And this is the Sky Deck." Mr. Moseby interrupted. Just as Bailey said she was there. "Here we have our juice bar where your daughter will be able to enjoy juice drinks and smoothies."

It was then that I noticed that there was a blonde girl with her. I didn't even know TJ Tyler had a daughter. That was when it clicked. The new student was the daughter of TJ Tyler.

"As you can see here are some of our students right now." Moseby replied. "Of course we also allow our students to work on the ship if they so desire."

"Tess, maybe you should get to know them." TJ stated. Judging by her tone, it didn't really sound like a suggestion. This was pretty much confirmed when she walked off with Mr. Moseby.

"Typical." Tess remarked under her breath.

I noticed Bailey looked a little bit starstruck. I clapped my hands to snap her out of it.

"What happened?" Bailey questioned.

"So you're Tess?" Maya asked.

"Yeah." The blonde replied.

"Well how about any drink you want is on the house as a sort of welcome gift." Maya suggested. I knew I would have to make it, but it was nice to do something for the new girl.

"Why are you being nice to me?" Tess asked.

"What?" I answered.

"It's just that everyone hates me. They either completely ignore me like my mom or think that I'm a huge bitch because I'm a bit of a control freak." Tess replied. "What you saw right there has been my whole life. My mom is too busy with her career for her own daughter."

"Do you want to talk about it at all?" I asked her.

"I don't think anyone here will understand what it's like to have a parent so famous that you can't even go into the same business because you'll never be as good as them." Tess retorted.

"Hey, I'm Zoey Martin." I introduced. "Kurt Martin is my father."

"Oh." Tess replied softly.

"And while neither of my parents are famous musicians, my dad's sold over 100 million books." Maya replied. Tess then looked at Bailey.

"Yeah my dad owns a farm. I should probably go because I don't fit into this conversation." Bailey declared before she walked away. I would need to talk to her later.

"So what kind of drink do you want?" Maya asked.

"I don't know strawberry and…pomegranate?" Tess replied. I took the fruit and started to prepare the drink before blending it and then giving it to her. She took a sip. "Wow."

"I've been told that I'm very good." I boasted.

"So is there anything to do for fun around here?" Tess asked.

"Well there's some karaoke tonight. I bet you're a pretty good singer." Maya remarked.

"I don't know if that's such a good idea." Tess stated. "I've never done karaoke before."

"Come on it'll be fun." Maya stated. "And it'll give the three of us a chance to hang out."

So basically, I was being drafted into Maya's plan. I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted me to sing as well. I hadn't really done that other than the occasional singing in the shower and only when no one was around to hear me. Still I wanted a chance to hang out with Maya, so I would probably do it. Maybe I could even convince Bailey to come along. I was pretty nervous. I was also pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to just sit and watch. I thought karaoke was something only drunk people did. That was what my mom said one time.

Bailey's POV

So that got awkward. It's not often that I'm reminded that I'm the only scholarship student at Seven Seas High. To be fair, I don't even know if Tess had a problem with it. I didn't know her other than what she said about herself, but I imagined that she didn't want to hear that I was a huge fan of her mom. It seemed like she resented her. I hadn't really experienced what it was like to have parents that were never around. I had parents that while they were a bit old-fashioned, loved me very much.

I wasn't looking where I was going while walking down the hallway and all of the people I could run into of course it was the one that I least wanted to collide with.

"You need to watch where you're going." She said.

"Chloe, can we at least talk? It's been three months and I really don't think that we should hate each other." I declared.

"Well I don't think it would be a good idea for us to be friends again." She remarked. I wasn't saying that we needed to be friends.

"We can at least be regular acquaintances." I pointed out. "All I'm asking is that you don't treat me like the devil…even though you don't believe in the devil."

"It still hurts." She stated.

"Maybe we can just admire that it wasn't the right time for us." I declared. We were young and still figuring out who we were. Like despite the fact that I was really smart, I didn't know what I wanted to do for a career. Her coming out did make things weird but I was pretty sure that wasn't why we broke up. I wasn't even going to say that things were over for good, but they were definitely over for right now.

"I should get going." She said.

I was in the room later when Zoey walked in after work. She started to take off her shirt as soon as the door was closed.

"Remind me again why I wanted to work," She declared as she threw the shirt onto the floor.

"Because you didn't like the way the drinks were being made." I stated before she turned to look at me in her bra. "So did you talk to Tess at all after I left?"

"Yeah, Maya and I are going to go to karaoke with her tonight." She declared as she started to go through her dresser looking for some clothes.

"You don't sound too excited about it." I noted.

"I'm kind of not." She admitted. "Do you think this shirt is good for karaoke?"

It was a blue and pink plaid shirt.

"Maybe if you're singing Nirvana." I quipped. "So why are you going if you're not excited about it?"

"Because I want to spend time with Maya," She answered. I sighed. Of course that was why she was going. "Do you want to come?"

"I don't really fit in with you girls." I pointed out as she started to button the shirt.

"You fit in fine and you have a good singing voice so that's definitely a plus." She argued. You know maybe it would be a good idea. Even though she was going to hang out with Maya, I would still get a chance to hang out with her and I did want to make more friends, so being around Maya and Tess would be a plus.

"I just need some time to get changed." I said as I got up.

"You've got time. It's not going to be until after dinner." She remarked as I blushed a little.

Zoey's POV

I put on a pair of shorts as we prepared to head for dinner. I did like the comfort of them. I probably was acting more like a girl than I should, but it was just easier for me. I had long ago decided not to be sad about something that I couldn't control and it also looked like I wouldn't be changing back either. In order for something like that to happen, we would have to find a similar magic to the one that was used to transform me and also find someone who was able to cast said spell. It was a pretty big headache and probably not worth the effort that we would have to put into it.

Dinner was delicious. It always was on the ship. Dinner was the meal where we didn't have to pay anything.

After dinner, we met up with Maya and Tess and headed to the teen club. It was an area that only students and teen passengers had access to. It was nice to have a space without creepy people watching us and I discovered there were quite a few creepy people on the ship.

"So who's going first?" Maya asked.

"You could go first." Tess suggested.

"Fine, but that doesn't mean that any of you get to get out of this." Maya said as she went to the stage and picked out a song.

Put your hands together everybody

Don't let no small frustration ever bring you down no, no, no
Just take a situation and turn it all around

With a new attitude everything can change
Make it how you want it to be
Staying mad why do that give yourself a break
Laugh about it and come you'll see come on

Life's what you make it so let's make it rock
Life's what you make it so come on everybody now
Let's celebrate it join in everyone
You decide cause life's what you make it

I had to admit that her performance was fun. I was smiling as she sang. I still found it a little hard to believe that she had chosen a Hannah Montana song but she was still the biggest star in the world right now. Maya then walked over and handed the mic to Tess.

"It's your turn." The brunette told her. I had a feeling that I would be next. I had a feeling that Tess would not want to sing one of her mom's songs if she wanted to get out of her shadow. I mean I wouldn't want to sing one of my dad's songs, even though I wasn't sure if they even had any of his songs since the works seemed to be more contemporary. Tess looked through list before she appeared to come to a decision.

I practiced this for hours gone round and round
And now I think that I've got it all down
And as I say it louder I love how it sounds
Cause I'm not taking the easy way out

Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn't have to give a reason why

It's no surprise I won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that I stayed till today
There's nothing here in this heart left to borrow
There's nothing here in this soul left to save
Don't be surprised when we hate this tomorrow
God knows we tried to find an easier way
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we'll find this was no surprise

So kiss goodnight it comes with me
Both wrong and right our memories
The whispering before we sleep
Just one more thing that you can keep
One favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The loving look that's left your eyes
But I know in time we'll find this was no surprise

I had to guess from the brief time that I had known her, I was suspect that she was channeling her anger about her mom into that song. I wouldn't be surprised if she had thought about leaving home before.

That was when I realized that it was my turn and I was definitely nervous. I really hadn't done much singing in public at all since the Battle of the Bands all of those years ago. Come to think of it, I couldn't help but wonder what happened to Tapeworm. I had to look through the list of songs to see if there was one that liked. It really wasn't easy because I wasn't even sure how much range I had. I supposed that I would have to go with something.

There's nothing I could say to you, nothing I could ever do
To make you see what you mean to me
All the pain, the tears I cried still you never said goodbye
And now I know how far you'd go

I know I let you down, but it's not like that now
This time I'll never let you go

I will be all that you want and get myself together
Cause you keep me from falling apart
All my life I'll be with you forever to get you through the day
And make everything okay

Cause without you I can't sleep
I'm not gonna ever, ever let you leave
You're all I've got you're all I want yeah
And without you I don't know what I'll do
I could never ever live a day without you
Here with me do you see you're all I need

And I will be all that you want and get myself together
Cause you keep me from falling apart
All my life I'll be with you forever to get you through the day
And make everything okay

There was a loud round of applause as I finished. I could not believe it. I must have hit all of the notes.

"If you can sing like that it doesn't matter who your dad is." Maya said.

Bailey's POV

I walked out after everyone was done. I was probably going to wait a little while to go back to the room because we had some time before curfew.

"So I saw the way that you were looking at Zoey while she was performing. Have you two known each other long?" Tess asked me.

"We met each other at the start of the program. We've basically been here since the beginning." I answered. "You know I thought you wouldn't like me because I'm on a scholarship."

"I mean I don't really care about that as long as you're honest about it." She admitted. "So I don't suppose you were paying attention to me when I was singing."

"Yeah. You were good." I stated.

"I've thought about running away from home but I don't know what I would do without the money. I guess I'm kind of spoiled. I just wished that my mom loved me." She declared.

"Are you sure that she doesn't love you?" I asked. I mean just because she wasn't around ever didn't necessarily mean that she didn't love her. "Has she done anything at all to make you think that?"

"No." Tess admitted. "So does Zoey know that you're in love with her?"

"No, I mean we almost had sex this one time, but she doesn't know. Besides, she's too interested in Maya to think of me like that."

"Well maybe it would be a good idea for you to get her notice you like that." She proposed.

"I don't know how to do that." I declared.

"Perhaps you could try to make her jealous." Tess declared. "Maybe seeing you with someone else will get her to see you."

"I don't think that's true because I just got out of a relationship with her sister not that long and I don't think she was jealous at all." I replied. There was also another problem with her idea. "And even if it could work, I don't know anyone that I could even date to make her jealous."

"I think I can help with that." She remarked before she kissed me.

So Tess Tyler has joined the S.S. Tipton. Don't ask where this fits in the Camp Rock timeline. It might not fit in at all. Anyway, it seems like she and Zoey have a lot in common. The songs are "Life's What You Make It" by Hannah Montana, "No Surprise" by Daughtry and "I Will Be" by Avril. Please don't forget to review.
