Liar's Berg
After a long day of back breaking work, our Vault Hunters recover their spoils and returned to Liar's Berg with spoils in hand. The fur from the Bullymongs from the bloodied efforts of Maya, Krieg, and Lee would be used to make coats to protect them from the cold elements. The large abundance of shields obtained with the intelligent thinking of Axton, Gaige and Deathtrap, especially Deathtrap, would show to be useful in their travels when a storm of bullets comes their way. Lastly where the supplies they had gained from the bandit based, wiped clean by the loud and brash hands of Salvador with the keen and professional assassin known as Zer0. With the proof of their victories in hand, they return to Liar's Berg. It was then they would have their meeting of the minds, wearing the coats that Lee had made to help endure the harsh cold. Necessary steps would need to be taken to reach the Claptrap's boat and what was truly needed to patience, diligence, and most importantly, good judgment.
"WHO WANTS TO GET DRUNK!" yelled Salvador. He held a bottle of booze in his hands as he stood before a massive campfire. He was wearing a small coat made out of Bullymong fur that fit his tiny yet muscular frame. Salvador's coat was white, furry and warm, the sleeves reached past his shirt's while the length of the coat reached down to his waist. Salvador sat on a metal container he found in town. In one hand he had a bottle of booze and a tin bowl full of food.
Salvador and the others were sitting around the campfire in the on Hammerlock's property. Celebrating their haul as well as preparing for then next day. They sat in a circle; Salvador on his own piece of scrap, enjoying his food and drink. Across from him was Axton who was wearing a coat made from Bullymong fur with sleeves that reached down to his past his waist this his wrists as they fit around his arms. On his head was a stocking cape made from bullymong fur. In Axton's hand was a new Dahl Rifle that he was reloading along with his other weapons to prepare for tomorrow. He sat down on a locker that he had dragged onto Harmmerlock's property with a bowl of empty food and a spoon.
"Oh hell yeah, Sal. Toss me something to drink," cheered Axton. Salvador takes one of the bottles of booze that he had collected and placed nearby.
"Catch, Ax," said Salvador in a cheery tone. He then tosses it over the camp Axton to catch it and nearly causing his bullets and gun to fall out of his lap and into the snow.
"Whoa whoa whoa!" he scrambles with his other hand to keep them from falling, catching his gun and his bullets with one hand. "Nailed it,"
Axton puts his gun and bullets to the side, pops the cap off his bottle and starts to drink from it. When it hits his tongue Axton nearly starts to cry from the strong taste of alcohol hitting his tongue. So much fighting and scrapping buy, whatever he had gone through to get this was worth it(even though he didn't fight the bandits with Zer0 and Salvador).
"*AHHH* So good. Pandora maybe hell and its bandits are crazy bastards," Axton drinks some more of his beer, "But man does it have good drinks,."
" I know right?" said Gaige in a bubbly tone on the other side of the campfire. Her happy face then gained a pulsing vein of anger and annoyance, "Speaking of which, why can't I or Lee have any again?"
Gaige herself was sitting on the other side of the camp fire, sitting on a large metal container with Deathtrap next to her holding her tools for her, ever the helpful friend at her bullymong fur was crafted into a fur coat that reached down to her waist, though it only had one sleeve for Gaige's only organic arm. Along with that, she also wore fur leg warmers that fit snuggly. And of course Lee couldn't forget to make something for him, at Gaige's behest he had made a fuzzy kitten ears for him to strap to his head that caused him to look unnerving and cute at the same time. At the moment Gaige was fixing up an ECHO with some spare parts that she had found at the camp as well as working to upgrade Deathtrap. She also had a tin cup that was half-empty, or half-full, and a recently emptied bowl of food that could use a refill.
"Because you're both kids, and we don't need anyone handling machinery on a daily basis getting drunk." said Axton. Anyone who knew him would deny any maturity used at this point in his life.
"Oh come on, I'm 18," begged Gaige. Axton just shook his head.
"Still a bad idea," said Axton. He tried to take another drink but a stasis bubble pulsing with siren energy appears around his bottle. "W-What the hell" It moves like lightning and snatches the beer from his hands.
"Hey, that was mine!" said Axton, looking in Maya's direction.
"Aren't you being a hypocrite," said Maya. She drunk from her own bottle, it being more than halfway empty., "After all you've got a gun in your hand and your still drinking,"
Maya sat on a locker next Axton's seat, but there was a bit of space between them. The Bullymong coat she wore was a bite more different that the others; itwas a cloak with long sleeves that reached herwritsts, its back went down her back and rather than use buttons it had string tying the front together, lastly unlike what the others wore it had a hood( she insisted on it) that was currently over head. In on hand Maya had half empty beer bottle and in the other was the book she had always kept on her person.
Upon hearing Maya calling him out and the leer he felt from his Number #1 fan. Axton quickly pushed his guns and bullets behind his scrap chair like they hadn't been there.
"What guns?" he uttered like a guilty teenager caught with a porno in their hands.
"SMEGMA SEEPING FROM THE LIPS OF A CHICKEN MAN!" yelled Krieg. Everyone present stared at Krieg, wondering whath Krieg's state of mind while intoxicated and no one had any good conclusions.
"I hope he's not drinking," said Axton, ready to got for his guns.
"Me too," said Gaige.
"Ditto" said Lee
As for Krieg, he was next to Maya with his Buzz-saw Axe in his lap. Food was smeared all over his face. He was wearing what appeared to be a torn jacket made from bullymong fur, on the shoulders of it were large mounds of fur that almost appeared to look like saws. He also had a large sash around his stomach, this only happed because while Lee was busy Krieg would try and swipe some of the fur and wrap his stomach with it, causing the Vault Hunter to relent and make it for him. For the record, there were blood stains all over the fur which was Krieg's own design.
"He won't be, but he might have had his fill," said Maya. She pats Krieg's head which causes Krieg's to rappidly shack his leg like he was a dog.
"Aww, I'm sure he's no light weight." said Salvador. He tried to throw a beer to him only for Maya to catch it with her Stasis bubble. "Nice catch, Bruja,"
"Thanks," said Maya. She glances toward Zer0, "Heads up Zer0," and swings her stasis bubble to toss a drink to him. Zer0 catches with one hand with the grace of a master shinober catching a flying shuriken
Zer0 sat in the snow between Salvador and Axton's seats with a bit of space between them. His legs were crossed like he was meditating. He sat with some old machetes, rusty axes, piece of scrap and the like. He had an empty bowl of food and one bottle of alchohal, but no one had seen him eat or drink. Unlike the others who wore coats, hats or the like from the bullymong fur, Zer0 abstained from it himself. I believe it was in his own words:
"Light, fluffy, warm pelt of Bullymong/ That is not for me/ It will just slow me down," Which was a sentence that made Lee and Maya wince wince cause of all the work that went to get the fur.
Zer0's mask formed a ':)' and he set the bottle down upright in the snow.
"I'm not much of a drinker/ But I do like booze/ I will save it for later," said Zer0 with gratitude.
"Good, now let us have one," said Gaige annoyed. She turned her head to Lee hoping for some solidarity in non-age appropriate drinking.
"Don't put me in this," said Lee. He notices Salvador trying to toss Krieg another drink with a grin on his face like wanted something to happen. He quickly reaches over and snatches it out of his hand.
Lee was sitting on a large ammo crate between Salvador and Gaige. Beside him was a bowl of nearly finished food wiith a spoon and in his other hand was his treasured deck of clothes that he made from the bullymong fur was that of a cloak he carefully made to resemble the ones he had lost before and it was enough to keep him toasty. On his feet were a pair of moccasins made from the fur and skin of the Bullymongs, it was actually the only shoes he's had in a while.
"Will you knock it off, you're gonna get us killed." said Lee, walked over to Hammerlock and handed him the drink.
"Ah, good show Sir Lee, I was quite parched." said Hammerlock as he popped the top off, with his robotic hand and began drinking Hammerlock sat next to Gaige, her seating design. In Hammerlock's lap was a Jacob's Sniper Rifle, cleaned and loaded with bullets. Hammerlock had a more simplistic use of the Bullymong fur, he simply asked Lee to adorn some of the fur to his hat, it took only a few seconds to do. Hammerlock swallowed his drink with a satisfied sigh to acoompany it.
"You like it?" asked Maya. Hammerlock smacked his lips to try and savor the taste.
"Well it has the distint tastes of scag spit, and wishes liquify many of my organs but who am I too look a gift horse in the mouth during such a soiree," said Hammerlock "Liver destruction by Alchohal-ho," he takes another drink
"So cool" said Gaige looking at Hammerlock with a blush.
"I know right?" a familiar and annoying robotic screech rings through camp. Before someone could say "Oh Bugger" a Claptrap unit sounded his despised prescenece, wheeling up to the camp next to Lee with a Hyperion shotgun in his hands. On Claptraps head he adorned a mowhawk made from the Bullymong fur, he practially cried to get Lee to make it for him.
"Hey Claptrap. Where'd you run off too?" asked Lee.
"Wonderful question shirtless Minion." Claptrap held up the shotgun above his trapezoid like body,"TADAAA!" This catches the attention
"Hey, thats a prettty good gun," said Salvador, eyeing it like a glazed ham.
"Yep," he holds it out to Lee, "Congratulations minion, your master has graced you with a brand new badass Hyperion Shotgun that I got from a corpse of a dead Vault Hunter, you can still smell the sadness on it," Lee didn't dare touch the shotgun, instead he looks to Salvador who clearly wanted it/
"Can you give it to Salvador, I don't use shotguns," said Lee. He takes it and passes it to an elated Salvador.
"Oh thank you Nino!" cheered Salvador with tears in his eyes. He pats the back of Lee's back, he nearly knocked him off his seat "I'll buy you a beer at Moxxies,you too Robo-girl. He takes the shotgun and puts it in his lap,
"YES!" cheered Gaige in victory.
"First of all, they're too young. Second ,were's my gun, Master?" asked Axton offended.
"Sorry but its payment for shirtless minion making me this Bodacious Bullymong Furhawk!" said Claptrap. "Now I'm warm, hot and badass!" Claptrap dances for a bit, he earns a chuckle from Maya and a smile from Lee.
"Thank you Claptrap, yours the simplest next to Hammerlock.," said Lee.
"Well it does look awesome." said Axton. He was actually being geniune. He looked over to Lee and opened his mouth with an idea.
"Hey kid, cany your fav-"
"No," said Lee. "I used up all of the fur for our coats and I'm not going back after these things, or at least not with Krieg," Axton frowned from the rejection.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA!" Krieg Laughed.
"Speaking of rewards, I was able to go into my back closet and found this slightly used yet incredibly precise sniper rifle." Hammerlock walks past Gaige and hands it Lee. "Here you go my dear fellow, for the lovely decale that you've added to my cap," said Hammerlock.
Lee grinned, he was actually touched by both gifts. Then at the corner of his eye he saw Zer0 looking his way, or rather he could see his mask with the hologram; :[. He didn't know why but he felt like Zer0's stare was burning away at his soul, he wanted the sniper rifle. Lee groaned inwarldy, but knew it was for the best. This revelation came when he saw everyone aside
"I think its best that Zer0 has it," said Lee. Hammerlock gave a small smile and walked over to Zer0. He gives Zer0 the sniper rifle
"Oh and not me." said Gaige offended. "even though you broke mine," Deathtrap pointing his energy claw at him.
"Oh my," uttered Hammerlock.
"W-Well I- I forg- I'll get you a g-"
"Relax I'm kidding," Lee stops his embarassing stamering, "You already paid me back when you made me this cute coat," said Gaige. She hugged her body. She then put the ECHO down and reached up to Deathtrap's ears.
"Not to mention D.T. cut wittle ears." said Gaige as she played with the bullymong bunny ears atop her robot's head. Deathtrap
"Yeah this stuff is pretty good Lee, didn't take you for a fashion guy," said Axton as he felt up his fur coat. "If you ever need someone
"Its really cool, thanks for the hood," said Maya' she pulled on it. Krieg reached onto of her head and began caressing the bullymong hood. He was soft enough not to hurt her, so she didn't mind.
"PROOF OF SUFFERING!" said Krieg. His sanner half sighed.
"Can't you not ruin it with that," Sane Krieg uttered. "And they attacked us, so you can say its self defense,"
"PURPOSEFUL MURDER!" yelled Krieg
"He's saying 'thanks,'" said Maya unconvencingly.
"A-Anytime," said Lee, He looks at Krieg whoo gives him a thumbs down and stirs it for some reason.
"Not to mention this wonderful Gun-cozy," said Salvador. Lee was nothing but perplexed by this statement.
"Gun-cozy?" uttered Lee. He looked over to the others for confirmation but was met with several shrugs. That's when Lee sees Salvador wrapping the5 barrel Hyperion Shotgun he had given to him with a Bullymong scarf like it was a pig in a blanket.
"Salvador, thats a scarf and not meant for that," said Lee angrily.
"Nonsense, its great for keeping the barrel from freezing." said Salvador. Lee groaned.
"That kind of sounds practiall, honestly." said Maya. She pulled out her Maliwan SMG and started to rubbed the fur on her coat against shrugged taking one last sip from his drin.k.
"Ehh, me and my squad slept in spaceship engine once, way warmer," bragged Axton. "But we got the drop on some mercenaries we were after,"
"How adventerous," said Hammerlock, not hiding a hint of interest.
"Can we talk about something else?" asked Lee. Desperate to keep anyone from doing the same with their clothes. "We should talk about what we're going to do tomorrow,"
"Right, I agree." said Gaige. "Right after we try some beer," said Gaige,
"Your too young, both of you," said Axton.
"Why am I in this?" asked Lee. Gaige looked like him angrily.
"Because if I can have some, then you should too!" declared Gaige, "Equal rights, bitch!"
"She's got a point," said Maya. Slavador then puts down his drink and slams his hands onto his seat, silencing all who wished to speak ffrom the shock.
"Then that settles it, when we get off this ice cube I'm taking you both to Moxxie's Bar" he declared with a big smile on his grizzled face.
"Moxxie's Bar?" uttered Lee.
"I think I've heard of her," said Maya.
"Yeah, shory's name dropped her, said she the 'Hottest bitch on the planet'" said Gaige "When its clearly me," she looked at Hammerlock for comfirmation, but the man just drank.
"Right?" she asked. He didn't answer. She looked at Axton, he siad nothing with an akward smile. She turned her head to Lee who blushes a little at the question.
"Well, answer her Lee." Angel' then popped up on the HUD on front of Lee's face. He nearly jumps back into the snow but catches himself. He didn't want his food or cards to fall in the snow
"Hey, we missed you," said Maya jokingly. She waived her tattoed hand
"Hi Maya." Angel said with great enthusiasm, she always had this tone with Maya. She looks at a
"Hey Ángel, join the party," said Salvador. Zer0 showed a '^v^_"/'') which everyone assumed was to say "Hello". Gaige and Deathtrap nearly jump for joy.
"Hey Angel, Guess what girl. I'm fixing this ECHO up so you won't be tied to Lee's hip all the time," said Gaige. Angel giggled at this. "We can finally talk AI shop, OMG I'd love to know how you tick"
"Or what more you know about the Vaults," muses Maya.
"Thanks Gaige, I hope Deathtrap won't mind if I take up your time," said Angel. Deathtrap shook his upper body to indicate a "no". She looks back to Lee, "But I also don't mind talking to you either," Lee smiled a little hearing that, hoping he wasn't blushing. Hammerlock looked on in amazement.
"My word another artificial intelligence that can speak and its not unbearable like the Topaz Trapizoid I know? Amazing." Hammerlock was absolutely stunned and relieved."Greetings I am sir Alistair Hammerlock,"
"Not the strangest compliment I've been given," said Angel. "Nice to meet you," She looked around the camp to see friendly faces, Lee could see the notable smile on her face.
"So what are you all talking about, beside if you think Gaige is hot or not," asked Angel. Lee grumbled.
"Well Salvador wants us to drink at Moxxies. Axton is saying no,"
"No," said Axton.
"Not even to celebrate?" asked Gaige. Axton paused before answering, he looked at into the eyes of his fan who seemed pleading and desperate. He looked at Lee, who stated didn't care but thought the idea of celebrating them getting back ot land was something to look foreward to rather than just safety.
"Ah What the hell," said Axton "Can't say no to a cool fan like you," Gaige smiles and Axton looks at Lee, "You too kid,"
"YES!" cheered Gaige. Deathtrap throws his arms into the air.
"I- don't, *Sigh* fine but only if we talk about what we're going to do tomorrow," said Lee.
"You mean killing the Cabron rakk rider, Flynt?" Salvador chuckled "Easy, we shoot his ugly mug off," said Salvador. He took another swig of his drink only to discover it was empty.
"Yeah in fact, " Maya held out her tattoed arm, it glowed and pulsed with power producing a Phaselock bubble in the middle of camp. "I think we should just do it now," she said with a smirk, self assured and ready for action. "I'll show'em the power of a siren,"
Krieg immediately got onto his feet and swing his buzz-aze into the air that revved up with the blade spinning and smoke coming from the engine. A wild look in his eyes appeared like a drug addict finding his greatest high.
"LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!" this was most coherent thing Krieg had said to the entirety of the group. Everyone prepared for Krieg to rip through the camp whether by by getting a weapon, preparing to flee or doing what Claptrap had done and putting his head in the snow while screaming
"I DON"T WANNA DIE!"
"Whoa whoa whoa whoa! Calm down dumbass, don't go crazy and risk killing our actual allies," Krieg's sanner half said. Krieg didn't listen and prepared to storm through the camp.
"NO, we can't go now!" pleaded Lee.
"He's gone mad," said Hammerlock
"Here we go again," said Axton in an annoyed fashion.. Maya, quickly gets to her feet and reaches for Krieg's arm, getting his attention and instantly stopping his rampage
"Calm down big guy, save that for the bandits," she said, her tone was clear, and conscise like she was talking to a dear friend or a child. "Don't go crazy here, understand?"
Krieg slowly looked down to Maya. His wild eyes began to calm, his buzz-axe began to slow to a sputtering stop and he slowly nods to to Maya.
"Now sit," said Krieg's saner half. Krieg then sat down with a mighty thud as his ass hit his seat. Maya took a sigh of relief, everyone began to calm down and lose whatever anxiety that had infected them.
"Really need him on a leash," said Axton. He put his gun away
"He might like that," said Salvador jokingly.
"Why use a leash when the power of love works best," said Gaige with a smile and blush. Maya looked at Gaige like she was an alien.
"Love?" she asked. Axton and Salvador snickered with Lee shaking his head.
"Ignore them,"
"A crazed animal/ But can be calmed very fast/ I wish he could think." said Zer0 with the memory of his lost sword burning in his mind. Shockingly nothing at the bandit stronghold was able to replace his precious sowrd.
"Sorry, I enouraged him," Maya was clearly embarassed but no one seemed angry about it, "But why can't we go now?" she asked.
"Well for one its freakin' night time and most of us can't see," said Gaige as she started fixing the ECHO, "If Flynt has an army of noob bandits than trying to pop their heads off will be hard if they come out of nowhere."
"We'd be walking into bloodbath, especially since we don't know how many of them there are," said Lee. He started shuffling his deck of cards. Salvador wasn't buying this.
"Come now, battled a battalion of bastard bitch bullymongs, just make a torch and let your passion light the way!" said Salvador.
"Yeah I'm gonna have to put a pin in that," said Axton. "Making a light when its this dark out won't make it easy to see as much as make it easy to find," he leaned back in his seat, "I've caught guys who made the same mistake and its was more than just a shot in the dark," Gaige gigled at the joke with Salvador himself laughing. Maya and Lee groaned with Zer0 shaking his head.
"Hey if I had some night vision goggles then I'd storm the place too,"he puts his hands behind his head, "I'd be easy as pie,"
"If I had the gear I could make some, but nothing that worked, broken or had bite marks in that bandit place helped." Gaige complained
"I"m afirad that it wouldn't just be the Captain Flynt's bandits that would impede on your progess," said Hammerlock,
"What do you mean?" asked Lee.
"Bullymongs are nocturnal, they can operate from dawn to dusk and they do adore attacking in large groups." said Hammerlock. He took out a wooden burgendy smoking pipe from his pocket and took it to his mouth making himself look more distinguished. "In large groups they are a danger but managable, in the dead of night they're a calamity hungry for flesh and blood." he lights the pipe and smokes from it.
"So we need to talk about taking out Flynt or at least getting into his base without getting killed." said Lee.
"Well whats his base even like, a pirate ship?" asked Axton jokingly.
"Oh you bet handsome minion," said Claptrap as he pulled himself out of the snow.
"Wait what?" asked Axton.
"Are we fighting on the water?" asked Maya, "That seems cool,"
"Oh no, Captain Flynts base is a waaaaay over there." Claptrap points off to the distance and the group can barely make out a large tower like structure, "put together from duck tape, glue, metal, toilet paper, used napkins and anything that can spit fire. " said Claptrap. "Its an uphill climb through a crapton of strongholds and if the skull cracking falls from the slipping up on the walk up doesn't kill you the bandits will."
"Heh heh heh, sounds like a climb into hell" said Salvador, excited.
"Great so they'll have the high ground," said Lee with concern.
*Giggle* Okay now I know you've seen that movie." said Gaige. Lee looked at Gaige with barren confusion. Gaige's optomism was quickly overcome with dissapointment. "Seriously? How do you not know that,were you raised in a cave?"
"A-anyway, this means that we'll be a bigger disadvantage in terms of area," said Lee. Zer0 nodded his head.
"Scaling the tower/A Challenge Worthy of Me/ I can hardly wait," said Zer0. Maya having more interrest in the conversation decides to pose Claptrap an important question. Epseciallyknowing Claptrap's record of forgetting to mention plot important details
"Hey Claptrap?"
"Yes siren minion?"
"Anything else you want to mention that you didn't talk about before we head out tomorrow?" asked Maya. This caught the attention of everyone in the camp. They all look at claptrap, waiting for an answer like Maya was.
"Oh well, let me see if my Claptrap memory bank has forgotten something; there was Flynt, the bandits, the ripper clan Boom Bewm-"
"Boom Bewm?" uttered Axton "What is that a band name?"
"No, they're captain Flynt's firstmates, they use explosives. Butt load of grenades and bombs!" said Claptrap in a cheery manner though somehow hinted at fear in his voice.
"I call the first mates if we fight them," said Maya she held her hand up. Salvador grumbled at being beaten to the punch and Zer0 responds with a ":("
"So how do we plan for any of that crap?" asked Gaige. "Sounds like we should just do what we were going to do in the first place," Lee akwardly look at Gaige.
"I-I know but I don't like making a move like this without thinking things through," said Lee. "And now we know more stuff like the Flynt's men and we know that Flynt's hideout is a huge stronghold that we have to battle to get to," said Lee.
"Its uphill meaning we have to be careful when fighting or if they get the drop on us," said Angel.
"Exactly." said Lee holding onto some legitimacy of his pre-day planning.
"SO what, we leave all together?" asked Maya.
"We bring all the guns, cause I'll bring all the guns," said Salvador brandishing his newest shotgun with a lovely gun-cozy around the barrel.
"We should bring as much as we can carry, we'll leave the rest here to pick up," said Gaige.
"Sounds good to me, I guess that means we all go or one of use stays here," said Axton., "I volunteer Krieg,"
"No," said Maya curtly. "Where Kreig goes I do, and I don't want to get bored here while you all do the fighting.
"I used to think she was going to be pragmatic," thought Lee
"No need for you to sacrifice your number, I will watch other the town until you return if needed," said Hammerlock. "Stationary Gaurd Post ho!"
"No te precupes, fancy pants, we'll be back for our stuff before you can blink," said Salvador with with an eased mind "We'll rain down bullets of fury down onto the ripper clanand emurge victorious,"
"Since you spoke up I've wondered, what are you going to do when we leave Hammerlock?" asked Lee. Hammerlock smoked from his pipe, it wasn't a weighty question and had a simple answer.
"Quite simple, I will continue on my research on the Bullymongs for my Almanac, once then I'll make for shore and study the numerous animal life that I have yet to take pen to paper for." said Hammerlock.
"Are you sure, I mean it suck here," said Lee who had long since gotten sick of the icy cold white scenerey. "I was actually thinking you can come with us,
"I love that idea, Lee," suggested Gaige Deatthtrap nodded with his. "We'll make room on the boat." Hammerlock was a bit perplexed by this decleration.
"Yeah I don't mind, we kind of got this far cause of you," said Axton.
"Yeah by kind of he means; telling us where to get food supplies and how to stay warm," said Maya in a chide manner.
"Heh I'm small so I won't mind," said Salvador with glee. Zer0 nods showing a (ᵔᴥᵔ) on his mask. It was obvious that he didn't care and he held up the sniper rifle that was given to him, showing his gratitude. Hammerlock was a but stunned by this kind words and gestures, even Krieg who was staring at Hammerlock like he was a dinner plate. However the edges of his growing smile fell into a frown. He wore a somber look in his eyes
"T-That is very kind of you all, but I'm afriad that I woul merely slow you down," he puts his pipe down and removes his robotic hand. "Besides it is best thatI remain here, so that I may finish my Almanac, and I am not well suited for combat," he puts the robotic limb back where it was. It was a strange statement, the very words dripped with lingering saddness and his tone was more humble.
"Oh, that sucks, I can upgrade you if you want ," suggested Gaige in a quick manner,"I'm almost finished with this ECHO and when I'm finished with you all you have to do is point as some Cringy bandit and KABLAM!"
"Yeah let robo girl work her magic," suggested Salvador.
"I actually want to see that," said Lee, his interest peaked at the idea, something that Gaige saw as notable.. Hammerlock smiles, but he also shakes his head. He stands and salutes the Vault Hunters.
"My dear fellows, your company has been a kindess that can never be repaid." said Hammerlock. "But I must decline both of your offerings Ms. Gaige, my apologies"
"Oh, well crap" she said. There was abit of shock through the camp, no one expected him to say "no".
"With that said, I must retire for the night, good evening," Hammerlock then walked away from the camp and toward his home.
"Dang, way reject us," said Axton.
"I don't think it was like that, but kind of makes me curious," said Gaige. "I might actually talk to him and not just flirt," Maya and Lotus looked back at Hammerlock as he walked past the fence.
"We shouldn't ask him," stated Lee.
"Huh?" uttered Gaige.
"He's probably got his reasons, and we need to respect his boundaries," said Lee.
"He's right, it seemed like he was keeping it to himself," said Maya.
"Fine whatever. I won't ask," said Gaige. She had a few embarassing secrets herself so she understood. Silence was the confrimation from the remaining group
"Relax Hammerlock is a good buddy, but I should probably dance for him! In fact, I remember when we first met," said Claptrap clearly wanting tell a story about how he had met the only person
"So we know what to do tomorrow right?" said Axton quickly to keep Claptrap from talking.
"Yeah, we kill everyone," said Salvador, "its a good plan," he said. He drunk from his bottle again but to discover it was empty..
"Worked so far," said Maya.
"And it'll work again cause we're so Badass," said Gaige proudly.
"Hell yeah kid," said Axton. He walks over to Gaige and the two, plus Deathtrap share a Hi-five. Zer0's mask showed :̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿'̿'\̵͇̿̿\з= ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) =ε/̵͇̿̿/'̿'̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ indicating he was prepared for battle.
"SWIM UP THE DRAGON"S ASS AND PULL OUT HIS TEETH!" screamed Krieg.
"Oh I like that one," said Salvador with approval.
"Glad to be on the same page before getting shot," said Lee. He drew a card, and sees that its a two.
"Then its settled," said Angel. "Hope all of you are ready when the sun comes up,"
1 hour later
After everyone had eaten their fill everyone went to bed. Since there were mutliple buildings in town it wasn't hard for anyone to find a place to sleep. Any blankets they had were what Hammerlock had to spare or from the bandit camp they had picked clean, although many of them were dirty. Gaige and Deathtrap slept in a building with Maya sighting the phrase "Girls stick together,". Krieg on the other hand slept in a large dumpster that could barely contain his burley muscular body, think of a grown man inside of a crib with his head and legs spilling out. Axton slept by himself in one of the taller buildings, whose upstairs was still accessable. Zer0 himself was in the top floor of of one of the buildings, sitting like he was in a meditative state while Jacob's Sniper Rifle was in his lap There wasn't really any way to determine if he was awake or not. . Then there was Lee who wasn't really asleep himself, he was sitting near the edge of town looking up at the stars and the orbiting Hyperion stonghold, Helios.
*Sigh* I'm still nowhere closer to the Vault," he felt Axiety hit his stomach like a brick, "If we make it to Sanctuary, will anyone be able to give some clues?" he uttered. As lee wondered this he felt a barrel of a gun poke him in the back. In a panic, e quickly reaches back to grab it and turns back to see Salvador with his new hyperion shotgun in one hand and beer in the other
"SALVADOR?!" yelled Lee. Before he could scold the man any further Salvador pressed his bottle of booze to Lee's lips, shutting him up.
"SSHHHHHH, You'll wake up the others Niño!" said Salvador just as loud. "What are you getting startled for?"
"Nothing really, just a guy putting a gun to my head," said Lee. Salvador smirked and opped open the chamber in the shotgun like the head of a Pez dispenser showning no bullets inside. "Its still not funny,"
"You need to ease up Niño, " said Salvador. "What are you even doing out here, something on your mind?"
"Well, I'm just nervous about tomorrow," said Lee. "And a bit frustrated," he admitted.
"Eh, the hell for?" asked Salvador. He sat in the snow next to Lee. He tapped his bear against his face hoping to elicet a laugh. Lee brise
"I feel like haven't gotten any closer to the Vault, all this time searching and still nothing." said Lee. "That bastard Jack is closer than me," Salvador scratched his head at that statement, perplexed.
"Not sure you'd this would go down, you've only been on this mudball for a few days." said Salvador. Lee lowered his eyes. He didn't answer allowing a disturbing silence to ensue. Salvador, realizing he didn't know the first thing about Lee posed a question,
"Hey, Niño, how long have you been looking for the Vault?" Asked Salvador. Lotus didn't look Salvador in the eye, rather he looked up at the countless numberof stars visible in the the night sky.
"Long time, really long time." said Lee. "
*SMACK*
Then without any sense of tact of consequence, Salvadaor smacks Lee's back causing him to fall forward into the snow. Salvador did not mean to do that,
"Oh,Disculpas niño." said Salvador. Lee picks himself out of the snow a and looks irritated at the Gunzerker.
"What the hell what that for?" asked Lee. Salador choose not to answer the question. The short gunman smirked and held up one finger.
"Let me tell you something niño, this one thing you must always remember." said Salvador, "No matter what happens on Pandora, you can do anything as long as you are alive," this advice was spoke with pride, Salvador's face wore a big smile, his hairy chest puffed up with self-certainty. Lee on the other hand was confused.
"What?" he uttered. Salvador turned his back to him and began walking away. "What hold on, Salvador!"
"SHHHH, Goodnight niño," said Salvador. He drinks his last beer and walks off to bed. Lee was left to ponder what Salvador had said, an extremely simple piece of advice that almost made no sense to say.
"I don't get him," said Lee. He felt tired, he desperatlely needed sleep or he'd be useless tomorrow. "Guess I can ask him tomorrow,"
Lee then walked to his sleeping area, it was one of the smaller buildings, it was semi-wrecked but still sturdy enough to keep from falling down. Off in the corner of the room Claptrap was sleepstanding with his arms and wheel reatracted into his body. Lee offered to have Claptrap sleep in the same building to keep an eye on him. He walked inside and over to a thick blanket that Hammerlock had given him and a single pillow. It was one of the closest things to a bed Lee's had for a long time. He laid down, covered his body and went to sleep, hoping that things would go well tomorrow.

Lee was met with the inky black void, his dream-state. He couldn't see his own body but he his felt his back pressed against something cold and hard. He could hear a voice, the one that forbade him from being a Vault Hunter. It spoke to him in a much lighter tone.
"Did you go into my books again, the ones for work?" she asked. Lee was met with a waive of embarrassment. 'And my tools?"
"I'll teach you, if you ask. " she said. "It's very easy and I know a smart little one such as yourself will pick up on it right away." she had a sense of pride and love in her tone.
"Will you want to do my job when you get older,Lee?" she asked. Lee couldn't answer even he wanted to, he almost felt to ashamed to.
"Remember what you promised me, keep out of danger, don't look for the Vaults,"
"LEE WAKE UP!"
"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIEEEE!"
Lee's eyes snap open to see Claptrap trying to shake him awake. One of the many horrid things that he notices was that the building was shaking debris was falling from the ceiling; ice, snow, asbestos and not just in sprinkles, chunks began to fal atop him. One of the pieces nearly hits Lee, luckily he quickly rolls out of the way and onto his feet with Claptrap in tow. The next thing that he noticed was the giant explosions that he could hear from inside of the building.
*EXPLOSION* *EXPLOSION* *EXPLOSION*
A chorus of deafening booms fill the air, nearly taking out Lee's eardrums.
"What the hell is happening?" thought Lee. Angel then appeared on his HUD.
"Get out of the building, you're under attack!" yelled Angel. With as quick thinking as possible Lee takes Claptrap and heads outside.
The first thing he sees is a piece of land explode in front of him, he dives away from the explosion and runs as fast as he could for any sign of cover. There was very little, making him nervous as more things were blown to kingdom come, the land was shattered, the building he was in began to crumble into a pile of debris, the building n the center of town was destroyed. the rest of the town was subject to mortars from an unknown enemy. Smoke clouds of dirt, ice, snow, rock and debris fill the air and burn Lee's eyes as he tries to get away.
"Claptrap whats happening?!" Thinking of where to go, desperately seeking escape.
"ITS BEWM BOOM!" cried Claptrao as he shook in Lee's grasp.
"WHO?!" yelled Lee. He tried to go to the other buildings into town, wondering if he could find the others and wake them up. But Angel stops him.
"Not that way, under the Ice bridge, the others are already there!" she said in a panic. Lee remembered where that was, he had actually hidden their supplies near a Bullymong spawn sphincter. He rushed over to the path that led down there as fast as he could with the area being bombarded.
"SALVADOR, GAIGE ARE YOU THERE?!" Lee called out to them so loud that his voice began to hurt. As reached the path his body was engulfed in a quick explosion that hit him and Claptrap directly.
"SHIT!" yelled Lee, closing his eyes. He expecting an avalanche of pain while his body parts were splattered everywhere. But when he opened his eyes he saw a familiar color of dark cyan surrounding his body like a protective bubble. He looked down the path below, trying his best to see past the smoke and to his shock and joy he spots Maya holding her hand out to her from far away. He sees the others hiding inside of a bullymong wall sphincter.
Marcus and the Orphan
"I didn't know Ms. Maya's bubble could do that!" said the Orphan impressed.
"Yeah kid, Sirens have all sorts of crazy powers," said Marcus.
"She must have practiced using the bubble as a shied, otherwise Mr. Lee would be dead," said the Orphan. Marcus snickered a little catching the Orphan's attention, "She did practice it, right?"
Marcus didn't answer. He looked away and coughed into his fist so not to laugh.
"B-Back to story,"
Liar's Berg
Maya pulls Lee and Claptrap over to them while the explosions continue. She pulls him inside of the hole where Lee sees Krieg and Maya sitting in the hole. Elated Lee could barely contain contain his voice.
"Ma-"
Maya quickly covers his mouth, Krieg then snatches Claptrap on his his hands and smothers his face into his body as a means to silence him.
"HMMPPHH HMMMHPPHHMPPPHHH!" screamed Claptrap under the constant explostions. With each destructive boom the ground shook causing ice and dust inside of the cave to fall onto them. Looking at Krieg he seemed to be tranquil during this bombardment, enough to keep him quiet, but probably only because Maya was there. May released Lee's mouth and puts her fingers to her lips. She then points outside with flash and bangs sprinkles the town. Lee saw another bullymong sphincter and saw Salvador and Axton holed up inside safe soldiers in a bombshelter and with guns in hand. Axton looks over to Lee and gives him a thumbs up with and pokes Salvador's shoulder as he looks up. Salvador sees Lee alive and well and waives to him. Axton then moves his arms like he's a robot and point the path, but Lee can't see it.
"I know he's talking about Gaige, " he thought.
Just then Lee's ECHO HUD showed up in front of his face, he was expecting Angel, but instead found a message from a Username called and Krieg both looked at the screen
"Oh this is definitely Gaige," he thought. Then a message appeared beside the username.

It asked for a username before Lee even tried to do anything, so he pulled out the ECHO from his side and entered "Demon". He then quickly typed on the device to send a message back.
Demon: I'm fine, so is Claptrap. What about you and D.T. ? Where's Hammerlock and Zer0?

Lee felt a lump in his throat. The fact he wasn't dead offered comfort but that was drowned out by the massive explosions and the mere idea of a near dead Hammerlock. Something else was wrong too, Lee collected himself and typed into his ECHO

Time marched on with the sounds of explosions destroying the town. It was like they were in the middle of a war, and they were the soldiers who were caught unawares by the enemy or the townsfolk who were undeserving of having their home treated as a warzone. Each group kept hidden, not saying a word, Claptrap being muzzled by Krieg's body, all they could do was wait. They waited patiently for 3 minutes until there was nothing but silence. The quakes stopped, dust, ice and snow ceased scattering around in a smoke screen and the attack was over. Angel then appeared on the screens of both Gaige and Lee's ECHOs with text on the screen that read "Listen". Lee, Maya and Krieg looke She somehow turned the volume down lower on the devices.
"BOOM BEWM! I saw what you did from the base! Nice job flattening those little bastards!" said Flynt. Lee and Maya both widen their eyes. Angel had allowing them to hear Flynts conversation. Lee was astonished and impressed, he remembered what she had done back at the barge.
"She's so cool. She can really help us in tight spots." thought a smile. Maya questioned the smile on Lee's face but decided to go back to eavesdropping.
"HAHHAHAHAHA Anytime captain, got those scagsuckers in their sleep!" said Boom. This was followed by a slew of hi-pitched barely coherent babble from his little brother Bewm.
"YEAHWEFUCKEDTHOSEGRINDERSRIGHTINTHEASSWITHBIGBOMBSBOMBSBOMBSBOMBSBOMBSBOMBSBOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOMMMMM!"
"*Sniff* Damn it, I love this little guy," said Boom with pride in his voice.
"Jack's gonna send a payload to whoever kills'em. But to be safe I want you to send some of our boys down to make sure they're dead. THE MOMENT YOU SEE ANY BIT OF THEM MOVE, YOU GUT THE PIGS SO I CAN FRY 'EM!" ordered Flynt. "Make sure we get photos, so we can send them to hyperion."
"Right!" said Boom, "You hear that boys, head to Liar's Berg and dig out their bodies!" they could hear the bandits running and scrabmling while they yelled in excitement. When the conversation was over Lee immediately got a message from Gaige.

Just then Zer0 appeared, his cloaking shutting down right in the middle of the path with his new sniper rifle for the group to see. Zer0's mask then showed (ง'̀-'́)ง indicating he was ready to fight. There was a noticeable look on everyone's face; a smirk, scowl, or even a wild smile.
6 minutes later
A large group of 15 bandits of Captain Flynt's bandits arrived in the town of Liar's Berg. Armed to the teeth with Bandit made rifles, pistols and shotguns. When they arrive they look at the destruction laid bare before them; every building was leveled, large portions of the ground were blown up, scaring the land and turning it black like a burnt cookie. The entire area looked like the aftermath of a warzone, it was probably unsafe to even breath.
"Alright, lets go corpse hunting!" said one of the bandits waiving his gun in the air
"Cut off the siren bitche's arm!"
"HA HA HA HAH HA HA,LETS WATCH THE MONGY's PLAY WITH'EM"
In their collective mania they seemed to have forgotten that they need their bodies identified in order to get the reward from Hyperion. They stumble through the wreckage of the town, scanning the area for any dead Vault Hunters and a Hammerlock whose body's they could plunder. They search, turning over any piece of debris, sniffing out the decaying corpse of a Vault Hunter or at the very least their defecation expelled upon death. They had split up all over the camp, but no matter how long they searched, they found nothing.
"Where the hell are their bodies?"
"Guess they got blown up too much."
"Crap, Flynt's not gonna like that, maybe if we can bring that Siren chick's arm that'll be enough."
One of the bandits had decided to walk off the the side. He saw this as an opportunity to relieve himself on what used to be the house that Maya and Gaige were sleeping in. He unzips his pants and starts peeing, unluckly for him some of his fellow killers were watching him in disgust and the smell had soon eached was even worse was when this happened.
"Hurry up or I'll shoot you in the dick." Their friend didn't care.
"AAHH ye-OOOFFF"
Just then their friend was snatched up and dragged underneath the rubble right before their very eyes. They rush over to where he vanished seeing their ally's piss stain on the rubble but h

"What the hell, one of jus-"
Both bandits then feel something around their throats and they are immediately taken away and killed by an unknown force. This wasn't caught by their other compatriots, not that it would change a damned thing.
Near the destroyed smoking entrance of the town 4 of the bandits looked for any signs that the Vault Hunters had escaped town before the bombing. Footprints, trails of blood, but so far they found nothing of note.
"Come out little Grinders!" one of them jeered They pop a couple of shots into the air.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
No response. In reality they had no clue whether or not they were still alive. One of them steps over what was left of the gate and looked around. He sees a Bullymong hole off to the side.
"You think they hid in that shithole, with the Bullymongs?"
"Get away from there fucker, they'll bite your head off!" one of them joked.
"HA HA HA, how about it then"
The bandit then tempted fate by putting his head inside of the hole. He didn't actually think anything was going to pop out, but he did see something inside; a blue dot of light.
"Huh? There's something in here!" he backs away and points his gun at the bully-hole. The other three of his bandit allies come over and prepare to shot. However the second they all assemble, in a row, like meat-to-the-slaughterhouse.
"Shoot inside!"
They shot inside of the hole, believing that whatever animal or beast laid rest inside was being riddled with bullets; if it was a bullymong then they'd eat it and if it was the Vault Hunters then even better. The shots attracted the attention of the remaining members of their group
"HA HA HA, DIE YA LI-AAHHH!"
"OH GOD NO-AARGGHHH!"
Joyus laughter was replaced with throughs of death an anguish as the four Bandits were quickly cut to ribbons by something inhuman. Their blood stained the snow and splashed high enough for the other bandits to see. The screams were the last canary in the coal mine, the enemy was alive. Now there were only 8 bandits them left. They Head to the center of town , aiming their weapons in every direction, waiting for the moment that their enemy would they ew
"FUCK, WHERE ARE THEY!"
"COME OUT GRINDER SCUM, WE WON'T EAT YOU!
"Shoot anything that mooves!
Frantically searching for their enemy, each one wondering if they would be target next. It didn't take long before something else happened.
*EXPLOSIONS*
Just then a large set of explosions could be heard all the way from Bewm's cannon, distracting the bandits for a moment. Then A pair of electrical cables went around their necks and quickly pulled them over to the edge of town and down to the lower section of town.
"*BANG* *BANG*
Their quick capture and disappearance was followed by a pair of gunshots. Their friends wasted no more time and followed the sound.
"OVER THERE!"
The remaining six rush over to the edge only three of them to have their heads blown off by a trio of well placed shots to the backs of their heads. Hearing the shots, one of them turns around and fires his gun like a madman, hitting nothing but junk. When he realized he wasn't hitting anything and stopped there was nothing but silence. The bandit looked around to see that the last of his men had vanished, and are more than likely dead.
"Wh-What the hell, come out you fuckers!" he yelled.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON DOWN THERE? I'm getting explosions from Bewm Boom and it sounds like They're fighting?!Did you scaglickersfind their bodies or not?!" speaks through his underlings ECHO with the patience of drunk made going cold turkey on quitting opioids. "Pick up or I'll cut the sacks off each and every one of you!"
The bandit in question quickly scrambled to his ECHO but dropped it in the panic. As he picked it up he felt a finger tapping him on his lower back.. He spun around to see a smiling Salvador with a cigar in his mouth and a Hyperion shotgun pointed at the bandit's head.
"You're alive!"
"I'm Salvador." said Salvador. He pulls the trigger and pops the thug's ugly head of his shoulders, some of the blood got on Salvador's clothes. He didn't care. "And your dead," he took his cigar out of his mouth and exhaled an oval of smoke.
"Damn it, I wanted to do that." complained Axton. He revealed himself, walking from behind a large pile of junk and debris. "Nice line reading though, tough and gruff as hell,"
"Thanks Ax, I think," Salvador didn't know what to think of that compliment. He tried looking underneath some rubble to see if he could see anyone else.
"Niño, you there?" asked Salvador. Lee ran past him and over to an icy boulder that was covering a Bullymong hole, he was frightened and clearly in a hurry.
"Right here!" he said in a hurry. He then pushed the boulder, using all his strength to roll it over. Axton and Salvador watching with some amazement.
"Dang," said Salvador with a chuckle. When the boulder was fully removed it revealed their fairly obtained loot. Lee, Maya and Gaige hid it behind that wall for safe keeping, most of their weapons were there as well. And now, they needed to med-packs inside. Lee rummaged through the packages of cans
"Don't just stand there, help me find the medicine in this this pile of shit!" said Lee desperately. Remembering what had happened Axton and Salvador rush over to help with Lee's endeavor.
"D.T.!" cried Gaige. Deathtrap rushed out of the Bullymong sphincter that he was camping out in for kills and rushed down to the lower path where Gaige was. There he saw Gaige trying to tend to an injured Hammerlock. "Pick up Hammerlock and bring him up to Lee!"
Deathtrap does as he is commanded and gently takes
Hammerlock had seen better days, his flesh and bone leg was bleeding, he felt an immeasurable amount of pain in his head that only a proper cup of warm brandy. His ribs felt like they were shattered into millions of little pieces, his human arm was fractured and his robot arm was broken having exposed wiring and bending in a way that only a snake could. Hammerlock breathed as best he could, him coughing through it as each one felt like shots of pain in his body.
"I-I thank yo- *COUGH* *COUGH* *HACK* Mi-Miss Gaige. I-I feel *COUGH*-"
"Oh Don't bow out on me yet!" Gaige begged.
Hammerlck could finish his sentence. Gaige ran along side Deathtrap to the center of town where she saw Lee and the others searching through their goods.
"Did you find it already," she asked angrily. "OR DO YOU NEED ME LOOKING INSTEAD!?" She then directed Deathtrap to the safest possible area, which was a rare find considering the wreckage.
"In a minute!" Lee answered back hastily, moving aside item after item in search of what they needed. Salvador was searching, he kept away from the booze until the job was finished.
"UGH where is this junk?" asked Salvador. Axton search with just pace, and was more nervous. He knew how back injuries from bombings could get, and even though Hammerlock got of easy in his eye, he couldn't help but hurry.
"Come on, come on, come on come on- *Gasp Found it!" said Axton as he held it up he med-stims and a first-aid kit. Lee and Salvador looked back , relieved and grateful. Lee, grabs a nearby blanket and rushes over to Axton who instinctively hands it to him.
"You know how to use that, nurse?" asked Axton with a bit of a smile.
"Who do you think fixed my injuries, I didn't get these scars on Pandora." said Lee. He rushed over to Hammerlock and sets the blanket down.
"Quick put him down gently," said Lee. Deathtrap did as he was told and see Hammerlock down on the blanket.
"Begin operation Nurse," said Gaige with more worry than glee.
"*Pant* Forgive me *Pant* chaps, I-I seemed to have slowed your progress," said Hammerlock with a hint of guilt. Lee began to mend Hammerlocks' wounds, applying the stimpacks where necessary, salve, and more.
"Don't talk like that, its not your fault that someone forgot to mention that Flynt's bandits had a GIANT CANON!" Lee yelled that as if to force Claptrap to hear. Said robot wheeled out from a pile of snow he hid inside of and rolled over to the group.
"S-Sorry, it slipped my mind," said Claptrap.
"Whatever," said Gaige as she rolled her eyes, pissed as all living hell
"Smooth 'Master'," said Axton with just as much venom.
Claptrap retreated in into his box form out of shame.
"I'M SOOOOOOOOOORRRY HAMMERLOCK, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!" Claptrap screeched from his protective shell.
"*Sigh* Claptrap if you keep quiet for 20 minutes then all is forgiven." said Hammerlock. Claptrap popped out of his shell, happy, as if his mistake didn't almost get everyone killed.
"Can do!" he said.
"I suppose I should have warned you all as we-" Hammerlock looked around, well as much as he could being on his back.
"Don't move so much," said Lee.
"M-My apologies, but Miss Maya, Master Krieg, Zer0 and Salvador. Where are they?" asked Lee.
*EXPLOSIONS* which caught their attention.
"Maya and Krieg are dealin' with Bewm Boom." said Gaige curtly.
"And our friendly neighborhood ninja is probably still hiding,", said Axton.
*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*
A tap on Axton's shoulder causes him to spin around and see Zer0 standing behind him.
"AAAHH!" Axton jumps with Lee and Gaige snickering. Lee was a bit estatic that it wasn't him. What was missing was Salvador's laughter, causing Gaige to look for him. She saw Salvador digging through the rubble of Hammerlock's home., tossing aside whatever he could to get to whatever he was looking for.
" And, Salvador's just being a mole or whatevs." She then removed whatever was left of Hammerlock's robotic arm and leg.
"I"ll fix these. Any requests; like explosions when you snap your fingers?" she asked innocently.
"How about a rocket launcher in his knee cap?" Axton Suggestion. Gaige smiled
"Oh that is bitchin'!" she said happily. Lee rolled his eyes at this.
"Might as well turn his arm into makeshift machine gun," said Lotus. He was being sarcastic, but Gaige and Axton took this seriously.
"Even better!" said Axton.
Zer0's mask then showed :), revealing his approval of this nonsense. Lee sighed with a small smile that he tried to hid..
"I see that." teased Gaige as she poked his cheek.. Hammerlock then interjected.
"I appreciate it, but please repair my limbs normally," Hammerlock insisted.
"Aww," groaned a disappointed Gaige.
"Okay, but what now?" asked Axton.
"We wait for Maya and Krieg to kill Bewm Boom." said Gaige. Without saying a word Zer0 walks over to some rubble and begins sitting on it and waiting.
"After we move, but we can't leave Hammerlock here," said Lee. Hammerlock shook his head.
"Nonsense, don't allow me to hinder your process. I'm more sturdy than you believe," said Hammerlock.
"No," said Lee curtly. He didn't even give the others a chance to give their own response. Hammerlock saw the look in his eyes, there wouldn't be convincing him otherwise. Lee continued to mend Hammerlock's wounds."We won't leave you alone after what happened. I refuse."
His tone was cold, almost heavy. Gaige and Axton saw a glimpse of Lee they hadn't seen. He was furious, but he wasn't loud though he looked like he could say more.
"Uh, Lee you okay?" Gaige asks. She put her hand to his shoulder. Lee sighed, dialing back what emotions he was about to let slip out.
"I'm fine, just tell me if you're injured and I'll help." said Lee. Axton decided to defuse this with some humor.
"Well I've got a small cut on my ass so if you coul-"
"It'll heal," Lee said, not wanting to entertain it. Unfortunately the others got a laugh out of it. Hammerlock even chuckled himself.
"Oi, Fancy Pants!" yelled Salvador. He walked over to the group, dirtied from the rubble with a large book in his hands, along with it was a datapad that seemed to go with it.
"M-My Almanac,?" uttered Hammerlock. The others marveled at its mere size and width. There had to be at least 1000 page in the entirety of the book. "And my digital manuscript and research, still intact!"
"Oh this is your book thing? It was the only thing not torn to shreds so I thought you'd want it," said Salvador. He set it beside Hammerlock who gives a smile.
"Oh, first my life and now my livelihood! My dear fellows I'd salute you all if I were able," said Hammerlock with elation. Gaige blushes while Axton gives a self satisfied smile, Salvador grins with Lee looks at Salvador incredibly proud by his actions.
"That was really nice of you Salvador," said Lee.
"Heheh, I try, Niño," said Salvador. "Anything we're missing before we head to Bruja and Psycho?"
"Yeah, there's one thing I'd like to ask you all." Lee stated.
BEWM BOOM'S CANNON STATION
After the Bewm Boom's bombing of Liar's Berg had reached its end, a quick plan was formulated. Lee, Gaige, Axton, Zer0, Salvador and Deathtrap would stay and hide among the rubble while feigning death. They would wait for the moment the bandits fell upon them and strike. The only remaining problem would be the Bewm Boom brothers, more specifically their cannon. Because Maya had volunteered so greatly the other night and since Salvador insisted on respecting the verbal contract of "dibs" she would go to deal with the Dynamite Duo of the Ripper Clan. Krieg went with her, ready to stain their Buzz-saw with the blood of bandits. The path there was right in the fork in the road, in which the left path lead to the bandit camp they had stripped clean(convenient). Down to the left was a path of two small bandit camps that had what seemed to be drawbridges to one another, Krieg in his psychotic fashion tried to jump over and was caught by Maya. None of the bandits were there, they had all followed their orders and head to Liar's Berg and to their deaths. With no obstecal they reached the Bewm Boom Brothers.
Waiting for them was a slight incline hill, several blast shields turned upright with a giant turret gun that had a beach umbrella atop it. Pokeing his upper body out of the turret with a shotgun and a pile of grenades next to him. This was Boom, wearing yellow and black fire retardant suit with armor and a wielding mask over his face. Some spikes adorned his chest, mask and knee plates with his shoulder plates being large. On his right wrist was a nonfunctional mini rocket launcher and in his right hand was bandit shotgun. His brother. Bewm, was flying around on a jetpack, his upper body sorting more oval like black and yellow armor with a similar flame retardant suit like his older brother, he wore a welding mask with yellow pant, his legs dangled with spit tipped metal shoes with a Torque Shotgun in his hands.
"I'm ready to BLOW!" roared Boom. He throws some grenades at Maya as she fired green bullets from her Corrosive Maliwan SMG at Boom's head. Maya's shots miss and the grenades land at her feet. Krieg quickly pulled Maya away to cover and sets her down right before they explode. Chunks of ice and snow fly, creating a white moist smoke screen of winter
"Thanks Big Guy," said Maya.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! BLOW CANDLE BODY SPIKE!" yelled Krieg madly.
"Above you!" yelled Krieg's saner half. Krieg looked up and saw Bewm flying with a shotgun in his hands, pointed right at Krieg's head
I'MGONNABLOWYOURHEADOFYOUSTUPIDSONSOFBITCH!"
He fired but Krieg tanks the hit with only a few scratches and it in a violent rage of vengence he threw his weapon at Bewm, it misses and flies directly into the barrel of the turret getting lodged in. "
"DAMN IT, NOW WE LOST OUR WEAPON!" Krieg's saner half bellowed. Krieg points at the cannon under the bombardment of grenades.
"THIEVING WHORISH METAL MAWW!" he yelled with the mix of constant explosions. Boom then took several grenades and tossed them at Krieg. Then a phaselock bubble appeared around them.
"What the hell!" yelled Boom. "
"You can have this back!" yelled Maya/ she then throws them back toward Boom. Said bandit ducks back into his cannon while the grenades explode against his massive weapon, she sound reverberated inside like the inside of a tin can.
"GET 'EM BEWM!" yelled Boom from the inside of his turret canon.
Bewm then began to fly around whilst shooting from his shotgun even more erratically than before. He flew around like a fly to fresh dung and fired at our Vault Hunter Duo.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
Maya ducks around to cover avoiding the fire, but when she tried to shoot him down, maybe even graze him so that the corrosion would kill him. However Bewm would move around to much and too quickly. Krieg was having even more trouble while getting dizzy and subsequently angry
"YOUGOTITBROTHERI'MGONNABLOWTHESEFUCKINGOFFWORLDSCUMGRINDERSTOKINDGOMFUCKINGCOMEANDMAKEYOUPROUD!" Bewm yelled like a wild drug addict on his biggest high.
Marcus and Orphan.
"Marcus, I know this is a dumb question-"
'Oh so you are learning," Marcused mused as the Orphan interrupted again. The Orphan grumbled a little but spoke soon after.
"How do you know which was was Boom and which one was Bewm, I'm kind of getting mixed up" the orphan admitted shamefully. Marcus just laughs and tussles his hair into a mess.
"Don't sweat it kid, I'm not sure which was which either," Marcus shrugged, "Plus it won't matter, promise," he stated.
"Okay," the Orphan laughs a little, unashamed by his own mistake, "Back to story,"
Bewm Boom's CANNON STATION(Story)
While Bewm buzzed around like a bee, Maya continued to miss. She even attempted to trap him in a phaslock but his irregular movements and shotgun fire made it difficult.
"Krieg, get some cover," Maya ordered, "This annoying bug won't sit still and his brother will come out again. Duck behind a rock or something.!" Maya then began to reload her weapon. It was then that Krieg's saner half tried to get through to him. Krieg body however swiped at the air like a lion to a giant cat toy.
"DIE DIE DIE" he bellowed.
"THATS IT! Okay listen to me, get some rocks at throw them!" sane Krieg ordered.
"HUH? SPATTER THE SKY WITH ITS OWN WATERY REMAINS?!" Krieg asked aloud, his shoulder and back were shot, but he only responded with angry yelling!
"AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"
In a psychotic rage Krieg started picking up large pieces of rock and ice from the ground, the explosions from the battle had made it all the easier for him. He then started throwing them at Bewm as his flew around. Each one missed it target, but with each one Krieg forced Bewn into another direction while trying to avoid the man thrown ammo; up, down, left right. Bewn just kept dodging and dodging and dodging until
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
Maya was finally able to trap Bewm into a Phaselock bubble, completely immobilizing him. Bewm struggled to escape, wriggling like a massive gerbil trying to escape a small jar.
"AAHHHYOUGRINDERTATTOE-"
Then with a quick tightened grip, Maya crushes Bewm into a bloody mist with nothing left but his Torque shotgun.
"Nice work," Maya said with elation. Krieg could feel his cheeks burn up and started believing that he was in the best part of hell. His saner half knew better.
"Well you didn't hear my plan out, but it worked." his tone was appreciative but still wary.
"NO BEWM!"
Maya and Krieg looked back at the cannon to see Boom grieving his brother with a Torque rifle in his hands, armed and ready to die.
"I'll skin you fuckers alive!" he cried.
"Oh sorry about your brother, but you know didn't want to die and couldn't stand his voice." said Maya.
"FUCK YOU!" Boom yelled back. He then began to fire explosive rounds at our duo. Maya was able to avoid the slower rounds more easily. Krieg himself looked at his weapon lodged in the barrel of the cannon and ran toward it,
"LET THE DAMNATION COMMENCE!" Krieg yelled.
He then took a massive leap and lands on the cannon's barrel, shocking the lonesome Boom. Krieg then
pulled his weapon off of the cannon and revved it like there was no tomorrow.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, I'M READY TO BLOW!" he yelled. He charged at Boom like a predator to prey and grabbed him before he could cower back into his turret. Through the pleading and begging Krieg took Boom by his neck, jumps into the air and slams him onto the ground below causing his body to splatter into several pieces like he was a wooden puppet.
"WEAK DYNAMITE!" Krieg yelled as he waived his weapon in the air triumphantly, relishing in the sight of blood stained snow, the sound of chunks of guts sliding off him and hitting the ground
"Whew, that takes care of one problem." said Maya.
"Now an army to go,"
Maya and Krieg turn around the see the others; Lee, Salvador, Gaige, Deathtrap, Axton, Zer0, Claptrap, and a limping Hammerlock that was being held up by Axton. Few things that were strange was strange; Lee looked awkward, Salvador was crying and smiling, Claptrap wasn't speaking
"You guys made it," Maya said with glee, "And Hammerlocks alive, cool." Axton set him down by some wreckage to sit while kneeling next to him.
"He'll be okay, but he'll have to stay here," said Lee.
"He'll be okay, then when we're done he'll head to Sanctuary with us," said Gaige happily. Maya tilted her head in confusion. Hammerlock saw this and quickly answered before anyone else could.
"Sir Lee was quite persuasive" said Hammerlock.
"We'll have him stay here and then brim him to the boat," said Axton. Zer0 walked over to the cannon and looked of to his right.
"We'll all live, for now/ We should make our way to Flynt/ Then Sanctuary," said then felt Krieg's massive hands poke at his head while he stood, causing Zer0 to show: -_- on his mask.
"We've got all our weapons and we can go now," Gaige said with pep.
"Good but two questions," Maya muses as she holds up two fingers, "1. Who calls Flynt? And 2. why is Salvador crying?" she was more confused by the second one than anything else. The only response the others could give was a head turn to Lee's direction.
"SALT MAN MAKES EYE VOMIT?" Krieg asked. Lee grubmeld hearing that. Salvador wiped the tears of pride from his eyes.
"Naw Psycho man. Niño has become a man, he called dibs on Flynt!"
