The next morning
Casey woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking.
She stretched and pulled the covers off. She slipped on her bedroom shoes and started to stand up. Then she remembered "dang it "she can't be up walking around
She let out a frustrated sigh and sat back on the bed.
A few minutes later, Derek walks in with a tray of food.
Derek: Good morning, Casey.
Casey: Good morning.
Derek: I made you breakfast.
Casey: Thanks. It smells delicious.
Derek: I thought we could eat breakfast together and then maybe watch a movie or something.
Casey: What about the kids?
Derek: Everything is taken care of. They are being taken to school and picked up.
They are going to spend the rest of the week with the family.
Casey: Derek, I must nurse Mackenzie.
Derek: I took some milk from the stash in the freezer, and she has enough to last her at lizzies while you continue to pump and store the milk.
Casey: ok. Well, what about the dogs?
Derek: They are safe, I promise.
Casey: Marti and Nick don't mind keeping them longer?
Derek: nope in fact they are taking them camping with them.
Casey: seriously, wow. They may not want to come home after being so spoiled.
Derek; of Course, they will. You know they are your babies.
Casey: By the way how did you manage to get our entire family to keep the kids?
Derek: Well, I asked.
Casey: Really? That's it.
Derek: Well, I also explained to them our situation and what was going on and told them we needed help. That's something you don't like to do.
Casey: (rolled her eyes) Yeah, I get it. All I must do is ask for help. Derek, you know it's a pride thing.
Derek: Casey you don't have to be prideful around me. We're a team. You know you can always ask for help.
Casey: Yeah, I know.
Derek: Not to change the subject but let's eat before the food gets cold.
Casey and Derek eat breakfast. Derek cleans up while Casey gets a book to read.
Derek comes back into the bedroom.
Derek: What movie do you want to watch?
Casey: It doesn't matter.
Derek: How about a comedy
Casey: Sounds good. I could use a laugh.
Derek: Daddy Daycare?
Casey: Sure, why not
Derek puts on the movie.
Casey falls asleep halfway into it.
Derek decides to go into the office and clean it up.
Casey wakes up feeling nauseous. She drinks some water that's on her nightstand. She turns the tv on to Hallmark Mysteries. She closes her eyes and tries to go back to sleep. After about 15 minutes the nausea becomes unbearable. She runs to the bathroom and throws up.
She washes her face and brushes her teeth and crawls back into bed.
Derek manages to organize the entire office. He even updates all the pictures of Casey and the kids and the rest of the family.
When he was finished cleaning the office he cleans his and caseys bedroom next.
After that was finished it was lunch time. Derek goes downstairs and starts lunch. A chicken stir-fry with Mediterranean seasoned vegetables.
