"Don!" Sloan Sabbath whisper-shouted. "Don!"
He looked up from where he was packing his briefcase, "What?" he asked at a normal volume.
"Come here!" She whispered urgently from the door of his office.
"Why are you talking like that?" He again spoke, not moving from where he stood.
"Ugh!" Sloan grabbed his arm and pulled him through the bullpen to door of Will's office.
"That!" she pointed urgently to the two still figures wrapped in eachother's arms on the floor.
"Huh." Don gaped.
"I know, right?!" Whispered Sloan excitedly.
"Yeah...that. And a little creepy." Don observed turning away from the office and facing Sloan. "Why are you staring in at your bosses sleeping together and more importantly why did you drag me over here to stare at them with you?"
"Okay, to be fair, Mac isn't really my boss, I just do a segment on her show and Will and I have this whole big brother thing going on."
"Like George Orwell?" interuppted Don.
"What?" Sloan stared at him.
"The book, you know...Big Brother dystopian future..." Don gesticulated with his hands.
Sloan slowly shook her head, "Yeah, a dystopian future set 29 years in the past...No, like big brother, little sister thing." She rolled her eyes at him. "Anyway I think it's fair to take a moment to be stunned at this development seeing as it's what we've all been wanting to happen for 3 years!"
"We have?" Don asked.
Sloan looked at him disgustedly. "Of course we have! Haven't you?"
Don's eyes shot around the room while grasping for the right answer,"Uh, yeah?"
Apparently satisfied with his less than confident agreement Sloan moved on, "So this is big. This is like really big. Like I almost want to call Charlie and tell him big."
"Don't do that." Don held up his hands.
Sloan rolled her eyes, "I said 'almost want to', not that I'm going to. What kind of idiot do you think I am?"
"I don't! Not at all! You are one of, if not the smartest person I know!" Don was quick to reply."
"Thank you..."
"But," He cut in, "You tend to be, only on occasion, sometimes, a little less than a genius when it comes to, you know, people."
Sloan glared at him. After a seemingly infinite pause she nodded curtly, "Fair point."
Don breathed a sigh of relief.
"Anyway I dragged you over here because I need your help. I need to give Will his keys back."
Don just looked at her blankly, completely not comprehending the situation.
Sloan sighed, "He gave me his keys on Wednesday so I could run to his apartment and grab somethings for him."
"He sent you to his apartment?" Don asked.
Sloan shrugged, "Big brother, lil sis thing, remember?"
Don nodded slowly, "Ah, okay."
"Anyway," She glared at him in warning not to interrupt her again, "Anyway, he gave me his keys on Wednesday and I never gave them back, I figured he'd need them so I came here to give them back to him but now I'm afraid to go in there because I don't want to make a noise and wake them up and then they'd be awake and I'd be in there and it would be awkward so I'd start talking to make it not awkward which will only make it more awkward and then I will have to run and hide in shame and then it will be awkward when I see them on Monday and I won't be able to look either of them in the eye until I die or leave ACN and I really want to avoid that."
"So you want me too..." Don started.
"Help me devise a plan to get the keys to Will without creating the most awkward scene ever." Sloan finished.
Don nodded twice. "Okay, how about this?"
Without waiting he grabbed the keys from her hand and to Sloan's horror burst in to Will's office and dropped the keys on the desk, the noise rousing Will and Mac from their slumber.
"Hey guys." Don nodded down to them. "Just returning your keys Will. Try not to spend the whole night on the floor. Good job this week, see you Monday."
With that Don left the office. He doubled back to grab a still staring Sloan from the doorway.
Back in the office Will and Mac were both looking where Don had stood. Finally, slowly Mac turned back to Will, "I found your keys."
"Ha." He breathed out a laugh.
She looked down at her fingers which were pulling at a loose thread on his shirt. "You can go home now."
Will pursed his lips and after a quiet moment shook his head, "Nah," and he lay back down pulling Mackenzie with a startled yelp with him.
"Billy!" she admonished.
He had already closed his eyes and was resettling himself, "Shh. This was the best I've slept in 6 years."
With a smile Mackenzie closed her eyes and followed Will back to the land of sleep.
