Hello everyone! Welcome back to this story taking control of my life and making me commit to something daily other than my horrible binge practices!

At this point I'm surprised I haven't become clinically insane. Cause I think I'm starting to have a sort of Stockholm Syndrome effect with this show. Especially with how V9 ended.

All I gotta say was that Jaune is still kicking. That's the only solace I can take, everything was either pointless in my opinion or not as important because it seems the writers are rewriting shit to clean up their mistakes.

But regardless...

The reason why I'm taking an interest currently in the show is for research purposes in fight choreography, plus I'm gonna do something for a Team that usually everyone dunks on in the community.

Cause you wanna see some sort of character development for side characters? Well I'm gonna give it the old college try.

So because of this I need to watch from the beginning. Otherwise, I'm not gonna understand jack shit later. Cause I haven't watched V1-V3 in a hot minute.

So this is basically my attempt to understand RWBY canon and come up with a different story, so V4-V5 will be different in some ways.

Dear god help me, I'm going in dry.

Anyways, for those of you paying attention, reading, following, and leaving reviews and comments on this story. I have to say I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It might not sound sincere because this is the 4th chapter. But I just want to express how y'all have been supporting me and tell you that I am honored to have you guys like this story, I'm glad you like what I am putting out.

This honestly would of been just a one-off if it wasn't sort of popular. But I'm going to commit to making this and to its extent Jaune Arc, a badass muthafucka. With the most unorthodox team dynamic.

So! I got 2 questions for you that you guys can answer and I will reply back if I am able.

1. Which boss or monster should I have first for our adventure to team face? I was leaning more towards using one of the Link Between Worlds and Link to the Past bosses to start us off.

2. Which kinds of items should Jaune and the team have to start off when we get to the adventure part? Because I think there's going to be some items before the first exploration, and I have a feeling you'll like some of the ideas I'm going to give Jaune and the girls.

You guys let me know if you're curious or you have some suggestions you want to give me. I'm always open for some ideas for costumes and other design changes for Jaune.

Speaking of our blond noodle, let's see what he's going through right now. ITS TURBO TIME!

I don't own RWBY or LOZ, but if I did Jaune's ass would be throwing pots to find rupees.

Chapter 4: The Way Of The Hero's Sword Mysterious Maps

Classes were... well to be expected boring to the blond knight for the start of this Friday morning.

Everyone was in Professor Port's class for the first period. Which means that the portly man was going to do one thing during their time together.

"The King Taijitu was fierce, its forest of fangs trying to end the life of a manly huntsmen such as myself. The sirens of death calling my name, as it approached me!"

Put everyone to sleep once again with his stories.

"He must of put that Grimm to sleep in order to survive. Cause there's no way he chopped both those things head off." Jaune was trying to pay attention to the older teacher's ramblings, well try was subjective as he took more notes on his history book instead of what Port was talking about.

He noticed that some of his friends and team members were also trying to doing their own thing, instead of listening to the lecture.

His eyes caught Ruby in the front row, rocking her head slightly, signifying her fighting off dreamland by the skin of her teeth. While Weiss right next to her was somehow paying attention and taking notes, not feeling tired in the slightest. It really amazed him how the heiress could sit there and just take notes.

While on occasion, slapping her partner on the shoulder to make her pay attention to the lecture, it made Jaune laugh on the inside, when Ruby tries to shake the sleep off, at least the little reaper was making an attempt to stay awake.

Yang on the other hand...

It looked like she had her head leaning into her hand, looking focused. But Jaune knew better than the rest, he has seen that pose before and even done it himself a couple of time in this class.

He liked to call it the 'Paying Attention Pass Out' maneuver where you look like your paying attention with your eyes close, but in reality you were just resting your eyes and were about to fall asleep, its a hit or miss depending if your good at the technique, and at seems like Yang was a natural considering she was in the front of the class.

She was either really brave or really cocky.

"Probably both." Jaune thought as he found some texts in the Book of Mudora about items that he'd check out a bit later.

The final member of their sister team wasn't even paying attention at all, a book in her hand and pencil down. Blake looked like she was fully invested in her book that she was reading, and just straight up not looking up to listen.

She did however look back up at Jaune. She just tilted her head with a raised eyebrow in his direction looking at the giant book that was in front of him. The cat Faunus kept her gaze in his direction for a little bit longer, then went back to reading like nothing ever happened.

He wondered what was that about, maybe she wanted to read some more of the book? Its possible she was interested in the story and wanted to read some more. He could never tell with her considering she doesn't show a lot of emotion, but he'll have to get used to Blake being like that.

To be completely honest, Jaune actually wouldn't mind having some company reading the ancient book. For some reason this thing has been acting weird since he took it from the library.

Maybe he could have Blake take a look at the book when this thing starts its little light show like yesterday.

He didn't know when this thing would be acting up again, but its better to have someone backing him up when facing the unknown, and usually the cat faunus was a book expert so maybe she knew something about this.

But then again who'd be an expert in ancient glowing books.

Shoving that thought aside, it was time to check on his own team and make sure they were on task or at least not caught sleeping in Port's class.

Jaune looked to his left to check on the status of NPR, to see if they have fallen to the sleep spell that was Port's voice.

He noticed Pyrrha still going strong with her body paying attention in class, but he noticed had a glassy far away look in her eyes. It seemed she was somewhere else at the moment mentally, but was taking small notes to show she was somewhat following along. It was quite impressive to the knight.

"I have got to have her teach me that. It would be so much easier to take notes I don't want to."

The same could not be said for Nora though, as the ginger bomber girl was snoozing in her open textbook, a little drool seeping out from her lips. She was out like a light, seems like Port's ramblings has claimed another victim.

Jaune could only facepalm on his energetic teammate, she didn't even try to stay awake. Someone needs to wake her up to make sure she doesn't get in trouble.

His final teammate, was just staring straight ahead without even blinking. Apparently Ren was just in the zone on one of the chalkboards in the class. Jaune couldn't believe he was just having a staring contest with the board, he must be that dedicated to learning the professor's material.

He was so proud of him, Ren was really giving his all.

Little did Jaune know was that Lie Ren had figured out a technique of sleeping with his eyes open. He put himself in a Zen like state, and blocked out the world as his eyes locked in place. While he rested his body with breathing exercises.

Jaune however was trying to stay focus. As team leader he needed to be their for his squad, for the good of the team. It was just really difficult to keep up the effort with their professor being as interesting as a block of wood.

A class that bored the absolute crap out of him. He was trying to pay attention, but since the first semester was winding down here at Beacon and these were the last classes of the semester, it seems everyone was just about done with listening to the man, or was focused on some other project for another class.

Just like what Jaune was doing right now, with his nose in the Book of Mudora and only listening to the ramblings of an old huntsmen.

He continued where he left off in his reading, finding more info and helpful text in the book beyond the normal story of The Legend of Zelda, it seems the princess is important in most of these stories that he has skimmed through since she is referenced numerous times.

Its weird to see her name down in history so many times... Its like she's been apart of Hyrule's history for generations.

There were also other important places and people in her circle that she worked with, while being in the Royal Family.

Such as the Six Sages of Hyrule, with incredible magical power to command, they protect the land of Hyrule and also a weapon of great power. They are always assisting the kingdom for the sake of defeating the evil that roams the land.

Some of the text stated that certain people don't know they are sages, until they are called upon by Princess Zelda herself, others speculate that it is in their bloodline to become a sage no matter what happens.

Becoming a sage was definitely one of the more mysterious aspects in Remnant, and to this day one of the more dangerous titles. With monsters of evil out in the open, the likelihood of your life being at risk increased tenfold when you were one of the keys of stopping said evil.

However, the true number of sages was seven in the group, with Zelda being the hidden leader of the group to avoid suspicion.

Their goal is among others in the land of Hyrule, is to guard: the Sacred Realm, the original birthplace of the Triforce and sort of paradise land that the triangles create. Jaune could understand their sense of duty, basically being the last bastion against the forces of evil from invading the Sacred Realm.

Next up were the Sheikah. They were the guards to the Royal Family, basically protecting the royals to their dying breath if necessary. They were oath sworn to protect the Royal Family.

They were fierce warriors, trained in multiple weapons and forms of combat, using tantos, katanas, throwing knifes, or any type of ninja like weapon in their arsenal. They were like an elite shinobi squad. Stealthy as the shadows in the night and twice as deadly.

The knight could admire the dedication these 'Shadow Folk' as they are called. Their fierce ruthless determination could be commended and shown by protecting Hyrule for years from the darkness of monsters and other nefarious creatures behind the closed doors of the castle.

But while their goals might be noble to some, other practices were very questionable.

Some of the stories made Jaune a bit squeamish, as they also dealt assassinations for the kingdoms, and even torture human prisoners for information if it ever was a plot to take down the kingdom.

Never let it be said that they wouldn't do their duty to protect Hyrule, no matter the cost.

They were definitely a moral grey group that Jaune had questioned when it came to the Hyrule royal family and their means. He knew that he wasn't ignorant to organizations or groups taking a dark turn in history, their are always reasons that make them go that way, it just depends on if in the end it was worth that bloodshed.

Philosophical thinking aside, he continued on. Turning the page in the history book, coming to another story about a different land from another dimension. That definitely got his attention.

It was interesting to find out that maybe in the hidden text of the book that there was another dimension, and the text say it was called: the Twilight Realm. Jaune was shocked to think that maybe there was something that crazy in the world of Remnant, but it was only in theory that was explained in the text of the book.

"Another dimension... sounds freaky..." It definitely was trippy to think of about, it sounded impossible to anyone with a sane mind, and even more preposterous to any history experts.

But last night changed his rule of thinking just a bit. So he did not rule out the possibility, just thought of the chances of being impossible, even the book said it might not be true.

But so far... He's not so sure anymore. He had questions for that Hero's Shade.

Like how did he know the Arc's lineage? And if so, what kind of evil was he talking about?

This all felt connected to the land of Hyrule, which just seemed questionable to him.

But Jaune couldn't help these questions. Ever since he saw that Link Arc was in the book, its all he's been able to think about. Just the sole fact his lineage was in this magical land that was long ago apart of Remnant's history.

One of his ancestors as the hero of Hyrule, it felt like a dream.

His thirst for knowing the truth about his ancestors was now like an obsession. For years he wanted to learn what they did in the world of Remnant to become heroes. Years not knowing the blood, sweat, and tears that they put to saving the world.

This book was the first step to finding the truth, like a key to unlock the secrets of the Arc lineage.

The blonde knight couldn't help but think that the reason so much of his mindset has changed, was all thanks to this book.

He now has another chance to improve himself with the help of the Hero's Shade. To try and stand amongst his teammates and fellow huntsmen.

To one day become one of the heroes of legend.

Plus another upside this history book had was getting a better grade in a class he was struggling in, and learning more about his hero lineage.

Either that or he was making it up entirely and the last couple of hours in dreamland was just total bullshit, but two out of the three was definitely a win in his book.

But maybe he was wrong. It seems that the training in the dream world did help slightly.

Case and point, his morning sparring practice with Pyrrha.

Jaune's feeling was what set off that line of thinking, maybe he had a fever from a couple of days back because this morning he felt...

Excited to fight Pyrrha?

It was weird, he wasn't necessarily keeping up with her when they went at each other, but there were flashes of moments that he actually surprised her with his movements.

It must of been an off day for her or something, normally she was on point when sparring with him, but the surprise didn't last too long as she corrected and adjusted to the changes, ending in Jaune getting his ass handed to him once again.

But it was definitely one of the more positive spars that he has had with her these past couple of months.

After the interesting spar with Pyrrha this morning. She was actually relatively quiet when they were finished, it was concerning to the blond knight. Usually she had something to say or a criticism.

But all she did was clam up, and left the rooftop with him back down to their dorm room not saying a word. It was kind of weird to Jaune.

"Did I do something wrong?" He looked towards the entranced redhead. Her head looked left and turned towards Jaune. Her trance broken as her dead standing face, turned into a closed eye smile towards her team leader, before returning to note taking.

"You ok Pyrrha?" He whispered to her. the red haired girl in question hesitated a bit before answering.

"I'm good Jaune, thanks for asking." She said softly, her emerald orbs and smile assured him that we she was just fine. "Why do you ask?"

"Well... You were kind of silent at the end of our sparring practice." Jaune just went and scratched his head, nervous about this. "A-And you didn't really say anything for your usual criticisms, so I-I assume you were just upset with me or something." Which only caused the red haired girl to widen her eyes from that.

"Jaune! I would never get upset with you with something so trivial. I'm here to help you improve." Pyrrha adorned a frown on her face now. The blond knight didn't want to assume anything, but he just felt guilty for some reason. He didn't want Pyrrha to stop training him, Jaune needed as much help as he could to catch up.

Especially now with this warning the Shade was giving him.

"Sorry, I guess it was just unexpected, usually you have some critique about my stance, or my foot placement, or my defense and I guess I got kind of...used to your input." Pyrrha frowned turned into a small smile now.

"Its not an issue Jaune. As for the criticism part. " Pyrrha adopted a thinking pose to give a small assessment of what she saw today.

And frankly...

"Honestly Jaune... You did fantastic this morning." The blond knight looked at her with a sense of pride and excitement. "Other than a few hiccups in blocking some of my strikes, you did excellent today."

"You really think so?" Pyrrha's smile grew even bigger with his happy tone of voice.

"Jaune are you kidding? When I saw you were feeling confident in yourself at first I thought you were just psyching yourself up." The blond deflated at that sentence and she only giggled at him from that.

"Ok now that just hurt on another level." He felt like he just got hit with Nora's hammer on that one.

"But as we continued to spar, I saw your technique drastically improved as we fought." She said with a mirth of joy. "Sure you weren't fighting me head to head in the spar, but the moves that I saw you pull off during our practice surprised me. I thought you said you didn't have someone teach you Jaune, where did you learn those attacks?" She questioned, the red head was curious of those flip kicks, fake out attacks, and even some of the savage sword blows that the blonde knight dished out against her. Some of those she had to struggle to push back.

She never thought Jaune was going to start pushing her back, but it showed something that was beautiful in her eyes.

It showed that Jaune was getting stronger, his drive to become a better fighter with the fruits of both their labor, and she couldn't be more proud of him.

Although... This did leave her curious, just how did Jaune learn those kinds of moves? She hasn't taught him any kinds of sword techniques like that, and she already confirmed that he's never trained like this before, so the question is how he learned these moves.

"Well... Let's just say seeing some of your moves on the videos during your time in the ring inspired me. I had to try and make my own version of those acrobatic attacks though." Jaune lied through his teeth about this, he couldn't just go out and say a century old skeleton man just tort- I mean trained him to use different parts of his body, weapon, and athleticism to fight better. "I have you to thank Pyrrha. Your old footage helped me think of some new moves to use in the future." He couldn't help but feel bad to lying to her.

She really was helping him out with their sparring practices, but he'd feel like a scumbag if he told her it wasn't her efforts that made him better. So he wanted to at least give her the kudos that she deserved when telling her the fib, it was the least he could do.

Pyrrha would just be more suspicious if he told her the truth. But he'd make it up to her somehow, maybe take her out to dinner or something...

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves Casanova, she's way out of your league." His mind shot down that rogue thought immediately.

It seems like his lie worked as she laughed it off, smiling all the while from his explanation.

"Well that's great news Jaune! I'm proud of the effort your putting in to get better. I know if we keep practicing, your going to turn some heads the next time you fight." Pyrrha complimented him, which only made the blond grin sheepishly.

"Aw shucks Pyr, you always know what to say to make me feel better. I'm glad to have a partner like you looking out for me." He chuckled out, making the Mistral girl blush at the praise and the little nickname he gave her. With that conversation over with they went back to focusing on their respected tasks.

"I'm glad I could inspire him in anyway I could." Her thoughts turned into a more dreamy like state, sighing out in complete satisfaction.

A crisis has been averted with his partner, now to pick up where he left off.

However, before he continued with the story of the Twilight Realm, he noticed some pages sticking out more compared to the others inside the book.

Curiosity got the better of him, as he flipped the pages towards those out of place pages.

He noticed he was getting close to the end of the book when he flipped towards his destination. The blond knight looked a bit concerned when he got to them.

It wasn't anything with text per say. The objects in question were actually multiple charts for the world of Remnant, the small charted maps looked like locations in the world for a specific purpose.

He noticed only some were in the north, most likely signaling that they let to Atlas. While others where locations in the Desert Kingdom of Vacuo, The Western kingdom of Mistral, and even some water areas that were close to the Island of Menagerie. Jaune could certainly see there were a ton of these map charts.

But he noticed while their are only a couple from the other continents of Remnant. Majority of them looked like locations in Vale. So with that said, he tried to organize them in region order and location so they don't get mixed up.

Once he was finished with that, he decided to take a look at the ones in Vale. The first chart in front of him looked quite detailed on the specific location. The map itself had a bunch of trees surrounding the area. There was a weird looking symbol on the front where it was suppose to end. The symbol in question looked like a four swirls coming into one space, kind of like a whirlpool.

"Huh. This looks like an item that was in the item glossary. Wonder what it is?" The knight had an idea of what page to check out, he flipped towards the beginning parts of the history/story book, where most of the explanations were.

Once he got went back to that part of the book, he saw a plethora of items and their picture descriptions. Some of the items had clear descriptions like regular old bombs, bows arrows, and boomerangs of all different kind of designs, while others couldn't be have a picture description.

However their were other strange items like Deku Nuts, the mobile explosive Bombchus, Certain magical rods using the elements like the Ice and Fire Rods, and the mysterious device that is the Hookshot.

There were tons of items that this book archived, but he noticed the further along he went with section the more bizarre the items were becoming.

"What kind of use is making just blocks? Feels like they would just get in the way." As he skimmed through an item called The Cane of Somaria. Some of these were very cool, like a shield that could reflect elemental dust attacks, A pair of boots that could make you levitate in the air, and a sword that was made by fairies?

"Ok that one is a little bit strange." He continued flipping the pages, determined to find the symbol he was searching for.

After a bit more digging, Jaune finally came across three golden looking medallions, each adorn their own symbol. There he found the swirled one that was on the map with a name attached to it.

"The Bombos Medallion?" Jaune muttered, his eyes were focused on the description of said medallion, It had a golden luster look all around it, giving this important feeling to it. Curious about its abilities, Jaune decided to read out the vague description.

"This medallion was long forgotten in the war of Hyrule, its secret power unlocked with a sword of equal power. The legends say that when that power is unleashed, the ground is lit ablaze and all that foolishly challenge the power of Bombos are never heard from again, becoming dust on the wind. The people that made this item swore to keep it locked away, for when the next generation of Hyrule's hero needed it again. He will test himself to prove worthy of said power." Jaune felt his breath hitch from that.

If this item is real, like some of the descriptions of this book says they are. Then does that mean this thing is still out there in the world. That this powerful item was still waiting to be discovered?

A secret medallion of power? That must be worth a fortune if he was able to find its location.

Or maybe he could find some more cool relics in that area or even some buried treasure! It could even help get him some extra credit from Dr. Oobleck.

If there was treasure, Jaune Arc had no complaints here! Finding some kind of hidden artifact or some hidden treasure sounded awesome. Hell, maybe a trip to some random cavern or hidden grotto would be kind of fun, like a fun camp adventure.

Maybe going on an adventure after the semester would be just what he needed to unwind. Because honestly, he was feeling a bit burnt out from all the training, studying for difficult exams and projects, and all the stressful team leader duties he had to fulfill with coming up with team attacks, double attacks, and other strategies.

This would honestly be something good for Jaune and the rest of the crew, Ruby and her team could definitely use a break like this.

Plus the end of the semester was coming up so...

Why not try and explore land a bit?

Maybe his friends and team members would join in on this adventure, it could be like a summer vacation kind of road trip.

Jaune will just reassure all of them that they'd have a good time!

He always did enjoy the outdoors more than being cooped up in one place, sure he liked the city of Vale and all it had to offer, but something about being on the road was just very soothing. His family really enjoyed camping trips whenever his mom and dad were apart of them, growing up with memories like that always manage to put a smile on his face.

He learned a lot of cool survival skills from folks, from hunting deer and other wildlife with a bow and quiver full of arrows, learning how to make a fishing rod or a makeshift harpoon to catch fish, how to set up tents. Just info he keep with him when he was younger.

Sometimes he wished he could go back to those times.

With those thoughts in mind, Jaune needed to check double check these maps for something. He needed to fact check these small charts just in case he was being punked, the knight had to make sure that these weren't just fake maps leading to nothing at the end or a false location.

He didn't want to get his hopes up just to be let down.

So while under the table, he pulled out his scroll to do a map comparison with the Bombos chart.

"Hmmm everything looks the same. Guess I was just parano..." The knight's face paled and thoughts stopped dead cold when he saw where the symbol was located.

The location of the symbol on the chart leads right to the forest area on the current map of Remnant.

The location of where he first started his journey to become a Huntsman of this academy.

Deep in the Emerald Forest.

"Oum help me!" his head was screaming in panic at the situation, there was no way he was going in that deathtrap of a forest alone.

With all of the Grimm that him and his friends faced last time, there was no way in hell he was going alone to that deathtrap of a forest. He looked at the location of the Bombos Medallion again, it seems there is sort of a clearing in between two gatherings of trees. Strange to see that in a large forest area, but hey Jaune doesn't make the rules.

Even so, if he wanted to explore this area of the forest without becoming Grimm chow...

He was going to need some help, and maybe some other equipment for the trip like sleeping bags, extra dust, and definitely some rations.

He could also use a blessing from the all mighty Monty Oum right about now.

The bell finally rang, signaling the end of Professor Port's class to finally finish up.

It was like a spell was finally lifted from all of the occupants as Nora and Ren were back to reality. "AH! What happened?" The red headed hammer girl turned her head left and right in a quick succession before shaking her head and slowly putting away her supplies when she was aware class was finished. Ren just blinked to come back to the waking world, not even phased with having his eyes open the whole time.

Yang stretched her arms above her head with a loud yawn, "Whelp that was a great nap!" The blonde brawler smacked her lips without any shame, only managing to upset Weiss with her brazen behavior.

"How could just sit there and sleep Xiao Long! You need to be more focused, otherwise you won't understand any of this next time!" Weiss scolded the blonde bombshell, which only made her playfully scoff at the Schnee heiress. "No need to melt away Weiss-Cream. Some of us needed some of that extra snoozing. Its not like Port was 'Axing' me a question." The pun only seemed to upset Weiss even more, while Blake only shook groaned out in pain from the terrible line.

"What Blake? 'Wood' you like to make a suggestion." Yang could only wiggle her brows and give off another shit eating grin from another terrible part of wordplay.

"Yang I swear to Oum... In a trunk... off a cliff." She said with a voice filled with the deadest of tones.

"Ok ok I'll stop. Don't want the comedy to fall off now would we?"

Blake was really thinking about getting a new partner after that last joke, maybe she could pin it as an accident. She was already a terrorist that killed people. What's one more to her name.

Homicidal thinking aside, she would of left the room at sprinter speed, but she wanted to talk to someone. The cat faunus spotted Jaune and she actually wanted to talk to him real quick about the book he had yesterday.

Seems Ruby thought the opposite from the brooding cat faunus, as Yang's terrible pun revitalized her in all the wrong ways, she was shaking the sleepiness out of her body. Already getting out of her seat in quick succession preparing to get away from her corny sister.

"Yannnng! Stop making horrible puns, they are killing all of us!" Ruby groaned out as she quickly ran towards the exit, desperate to get away from her blonde older sister.

"Oh come on Ruby I think I am cut above the rest!" Yang couldn't help her teasing nature, and went to chase after the reaper, making sure to keep the puns and Oum awful jokes flowing.

"Hey wait up you dopes! You forgot your stuff here!" Weiss, nice enough to help her team leader and other teammate out by getting their bags, in hot pursuit of the two sisters. "We are not finished discussing your boorish behavior Yang!" Her form and voice slowing getting farther when she left.

Almost everyone was eager to leave the boring lecture. Ren and Nora were on there way out, while Pyrrha was packing her stuff up waiting for her partner.

" Well... That seems to be all the time we have today class. Have a great vacation everyone and I'll see you next semester!" Port's loud voice rung through the classroom. With that Jaune started to pack up his notebooks and supplies to get ready for the next class.

He stuffed all of the chart maps back in the book, making sure they weren't gonna slip out of his bag. Don't need all of those falling out that's for sure.

As Jaune was about to leave the desk, he felt a tap on his shoulder from behind.

He turned around and saw Blake in close proximity of him, with one of her books in hand. But her attention was focused on the blond knight himself, golden yellow looking at royal blue eyes.

"Hey..." the simple response came out with a monotone voice.

"Hey? what's up Blake?" The blond responded back. The bookworm of Team RWBY looked at him with her beautiful yellow eyes. Her face was a little bit pink with a blush, but otherwise a calm cool look on her face.

"So you know how we were reading that book of Mudora together yesterday." Her eyes looked to the side for a bit.

"Yeah the story book? What about it?"

"I have to admit, the story we read was interesting. I was shocked to learn about the other races of Hyrule and all the story elements kept my attention." Blake rubbed her arm now, a sign of a nervous habit if anyone wanted to point it out. Blake really did enjoy reading about certain races especially the Zora and Rito, she was still curious on what other kind of secrets the book held.

So she wanted to talk to Jaune about reading it with him, she didn't want to be rude and just take the thing from him. He could still be using it for his essay project.

"Could... could we read that book some more during lunch? I'd really like to talk about it with you." She questioned with some hesitation and big begging eyes. Jaune couldn't believe it, unflappable Blake Belladonna was feeling nervous? Why was she feeling this way over a simple question?

"Well I see this only as an absolute win." The blond thought, he still needed her help and since she was up for discussion on the book, who was he to deny her.

Plus, Jaune couldn't help but see her look cute like this. It was bad enough that she looked adorable normally. But with this whole nervous look, adding the kitty eyes with it and her cat eats under her bow twitching in rapid excitement...

He just couldn't resist even if he tried, the answer for him was obvious.

"Oh... um of course we can read some more, I was going to ask you if wanted to anyways." A small smile grew on her face from that answer. "Besides, I could use your help some more on the project anyways. I got most of the subject I wanted to talk about nailed down and I'm going to need someone to help with my notes." Jaune stopped after that last part. " That is... If you wanted to that is! I'm not saying you have to help me with my notes or anything but..." Blake could only chuckle slightly at his backpedaling and rolled her yellow eyes playfully.

"That's fine with me Jaune, you don't need to feel bad about asking for help." Her smile turned into a little smug grin from his little tirade, it was adorable that he felt nervous. "Just save me a seat right next to you alright?"

"Y-Yeah s-sure t-thing." He couldn't help the stutter, especially with the mysterious beauty of Blake.

Hell he thought all of the girls here at Beacon were attractive in their own way.

"Get your mind out of the gutter boy, she's still talking to you." Jaune jumped at that voice, but quickly righted himself before she saw it.

"Shade was that you?" The blond questioned, but got no response back.

"Cool, see you later Jaune." She got out of his personal space and started walking away.

Blake was about to leave, but stopped midway and cleared her throat confusing Jaune.

"Did she forget something?"

"By the way you need to stop talking out loud, I heard you mumble about something called the Bombos Medallion and what it could do." She wiggled her black bow to show him how she heard him, that smirk still persisting. "You really need to use your inside voice, you never know who could be listening." She tilted her head towards him.

"Oh..."

Jaune looked at the ground, embarrassed to be caught so easily. He really needed to keep his mouth shut, especially since Blake can hear so well with her extra pair of ears.

With that said, she took her leave, the cat faunus school uniformed self leaving the auditorium.

"Jaune? Is everything alright?" He heard Pyrrha's voice behind him. He only turned to see her smiling green eyed partner. He decided to not let that last sentence slip from his lips.

"Yeah. Everything is all good, let's get to our next class Pyr." He reassured her.

With that they head off to tackle the rest of their day.

(Cafeteria, before Combat Class)

It was noisy as usual in the lunchroom. Most of the students at Beacon Academy usually sat with their friends and peers. Pyrrha was already sitting with her team members and Team RWBY was across from her enjoying their lunch.

Weiss got her usual Caesar salad and water to watch her figure, Ren chose a similar kind of salad but with some kind of weird plant meat substitute, he also instead had one of his herbal shakes.

Pyrrha loved being in tip top shape, but even she could agree with the rest of team JNPR that his shakes were pretty nasty.

Ruby had an absurd amount of cookies on her tray with tall glass of milk, upsetting her sister in the process from her ridiculous behavior.

"Ruby... We've been over this. You can't just keep eating only cookies." Yang scolded as she was about to take away her tray. But the little reaper only moved away with the tray eating a couple of cookies in the process. That only served to anger the blond sibling. "You need to eat something else, its not healthy to just eat sweets!" Yang continued to scold her sister.

"Hmph! Says you sis, You keep eating those Bacon cheeseburgers with fries every time we get lunch! Why don't you practice what you preach otherwise you'll get fat!" The silver eyed said back, which only made Yang choke on her own spittle, being caught in her own hypocrisy.

"That's not the point Rubes, eating that many cookies are gonna make you sick." Yang still went on trying to get to Ruby and take the cookies from her, but it was all for naught as she kept eating them.

"Never! I will never let you keep me away from my precious." The reaper only caressed the last chocolate chip cookie, before engulfing it and finishing off her desert lunch with a cold glass of milk.

The blond finally having enough just gave up and faceplanted into the table, and just took a bite of her juicy burger to make herself feel better.

"Ah don't worry about it Yang! Lil Red will be just fine with that healthy lunch!" Nora chimed in, with a mountain of pancakes in front and a mason jar full of syrup ready for her afternoon lunch. "She should take a page from my book, because pancakes are the food of the gods, and look at me! I came out just fine by eating my favorite food!" Pouring all that syrup on those flapjacks, she had her utensils ready for the battle.

The fluffy golden brown pancakes stood no chance against the Flapjack Fiend.

"Uh Nora... I don't think you really count as normal." Ren had to speak up on everyone's behalf, as the bomber girl was just a whole messy eater splattering some parts of the pancakes and some syrup across the table.

"Waht? houf cofld youf shay thaft Reeny?" Nora just spoke with her mouth full of pancakes, grossing out some of the others at the table.

"Ugh! Please finish chewing before you start spewing you dolt!" Wiess said disgusted with Nora's table manners. She finally swallowed all of her pancakes in a few seconds, before letting out a huge belch.

"Nice!" Yang laughed out. Holding out her hand for a high five, and Nora not known for leaving a sister hanging slapped it down like she was giving her 5 Lien bill.

"Repulsive." Weiss could only say from that as she went back to her salad, ignoring the others.

"Trust me, that was only a warm up. Wanna to see me do it again?" Nora was about to go back in line to try and get more pancakes, but Ren stopped her from going back.

"No Nora, I think you've had enough."

"Awww, but Renny. I wanna see if I can beat my longest one!"

"No Nora."

"But it will be so cool! I bet it will sound like a sloth battle cry!"

"Now this I have got to see." Yang said in amusement.

"The answer is still no Nora."

"Party Pooper" Both girls said, before they smiled at each other and giggled.

Nora and Yang only groaned out at the killjoy that was Lie Ren. As the others continued to have conversation, Pyrrha noticed that the last two at the table haven't said a word to the others.

There was only RWY across from them. Ren and Nora were to her left, Jaune was to the right of her looking at that green textbook again he was reading in Port's class. She should probably ask what he's reading. But the weirdest part was that the B of the sister team was on the right side of Jaune, reading along with him.

Usually having a smothered garlic chicken breast, with some vegetables were usually her favorite part of lunch and tasty meal for the hoplite. But she just didn't feel hungry right now, fork in hand she was just playing with her food while her other hand was on her cheek.

Something just didn't sit well with her.

"Why would Jaune lie to me?" Her thoughts turned to this morning's class. Pyrrha honestly knew that Jaune lied about that whole spiel of learning from her tournament videos. His movements felt more rough around the edges when she first helped him practice. Usually it took a bit longer to find a fighting style than just a couple of months. Not even the most expert of fighters could just come up with one on the fly.

Jaune was still a beginner, and even if he tried to advance more in their training it just seemed like it would be improvable for him to move so... fluid.

When she sparred with Jaune this morning. The nervous, scared movements of the blond knight was almost gone. Replaced with a semi-competent fighter that had not only a different stance than what she showed him, but the strength, intelligence, and unorthodox thinking of that a second level academy student would of have.

Pyrrha was lucky, his fighting style would of caught her off guard if not for her years of fighting in the ring and her adaptability to read a situation.

Plus of all the different strikes that he was attacking her with, they didn't feel graceful or even have her own spin of savageness. They felt like powerful, overwhelming strikes in some instances, then clear combined chained attacks that utilize both his sword and shield in tandem making it more difficult to close in on him to strike.

Add in some unorthodox kicks that were awkward to dodge and there you go: Jaune's fighting style in the span of a couple months of training. Sure he was still a work in progress, and still had many hiccups. But the style would throw many of the other Huntsmen and Huntresses off guard in their year.

Realistically who would imagine a tall and strapping lad like Jaune would be able to pull off these very high kicks in the air?

Pyrrha sure didn't, cause she got caught off guard this morning and was hit by one.

And that's what worried her the most, how did her partner think of these moves in such a short amount of time? She surely hadn't taught him that, and she knows for a fact that she's never done of those kinds of swings and attacks in the ring.

So then where did he learn them? She hasn't seen him make drastic changes, only corrections here in there.

Pyrrha could only look at the table in confusion, for some reason she couldn't shake this weird feeling in her stomach, it was sort of bizarre. It was a strange tingling feeling that she couldn't help.

There had to be starting point somewhere.

She recalled when Jaune came back to the dorms last night from a surprising study session from the least expected member of the team RWBY, Blake Belladonna. Maybe that's a starting point from this.

The hoplite was the first to notice and point out that Blake and Jaune for some reason always avoided each other in terms of interacting with each other. Perhaps it had something to do with the both of them having intense sparring sessions of their own.

This thought process sort of bristled Pyrrha for some reason.

Now normally that wouldn't bother her in the slightest because if she was being honest, she'd like to get some more bonding time with Jaune. But she didn't want to monopolize all of Jaune when it came to hanging out with him. He was his own person and he had every right to talk to whoever he wanted. She just wanted to avoid another incident like what happened with Cardin and his group.

She definitely didn't want that to happen again, Team JNPR and Team RWBY would be there to stop those clods of Team CRDL if they ever tried to pull a stunt like what happened at Forever Falls, especially if they were doing that to Jaune of all people.

Pyrrha to be honest, didn't know how she felt about him. At first she thought he was a bit of a goofball and thought he wasn't gonna make it through initiation. But as he continued to grow as a leader, and saw how he treated his team with not only respect but kindness as well.

Well... Pyrrha just couldn't help but gravitate towards him.

It certainly had nothing to do with the fact of how nice of a guy Jaune was, not smothering her with knowing who she was and pestering her with the fame, helping people when they say they don't need it, and just overall being a positive person.

Yep... Nothing but a really good friend in Pyrrha's eyes.

That's really attractive with his shirt off...

But she was getting off topic.

Jaune and Blake were currently reading that book that Jaune brought back to their dorm room last night, he never told them what the book was about. But he told them it was a good read. It certainly must have because Jaune has been having his nose in it all day, First with Port's class, then again in Oobleck's and Professor Peach's class. Now here at lunch with Blake

Every time she noticed him reading it.

"Must be important for an assignment." She was broken out of her thoughts as a grape thrown at her head hit her. Shaking her head she glared at Yang, with another grape in hand in mid throw, but stopping at mid throw.

"Bout time I got your attention. What's got you worked up P-Money. You haven't been eating at all." She looked down and saw almost everyone else was finished with their food. Guess she was worrying everyone with just staring off into space.

"Sorry. I guess I am just a little curious on what Jaune is reading over there." She nodded her head towards two silent occupants that haven't said a word at the table.

"Oh you don't say~" Pyrrha didn't like the tone that Yang had there. The red headed girl was well aware of the blonde's teasing nature, especially when it came to the blond knight.

"Yang don't you dare." Pyrrha's warning feel on deaf ears, which in term made Yang smile harder.

"I don't know what you're talking about P-Money, I'm just gonna get your man's attention." A glint of mischievous light went off in those lilac pools, Pyrrha knowing she was up to no good.

Pyrrha didn't mind Yang at all, in fact she saw her like the sister she never had. If said sister decided to be the biggest troll in her life.

Then yes they were just like two peas in a pod.

"Hey Lover Boy!" Yang had a shit eating grin with seductive smirk on it when she said that. Jaune and Blake took their focus off the book for a few seconds to look at blond. "Pyrrha wanted to talk to you about something, so quit trying into the Kitten's pants and say something to your girl." Which caused Jaune to blush a bright cherry red at the implication. Blake only rolled her eyes at Yang making a big scene and went to back to the paragraph she was on in the Mudora book.

"YANG!" Pyrrha whined out, she didn't want to be put on the spot here and especially with what she said.

"He's all yours girl." Yang mouthed out to the red headed girl.

"What is it partner?" Jaune was curious on what the Hoplite wanted, while ignoring that last part, blue eyes focused on her Emerald green ones.

"Well... Um... I was curious on what you and Blake were reading, considering you've been reading it all day during class." Forget the figuring this out with subtlety, guess she had to do this the old fashion way. "Is it for an assignment or something? Because if it is I could help you." Pyrrha said, while putting on a big toothy smile ready and eager.

"Its alright Pyr. I think Blake's got me covered." Blake only gave everyone else a thumbs up, as she turned another page. "As for the book, its just a history book I am using for Oobleck's essay project. So I am trying to make sure I have all the info that I need." Which only caused his partner to sigh out in frustration. He procrastinated and now he only had two days.

"Jaune you realize your giving yourself a time crunch right?" Pyrrha was a little bit upset at Jaune's nonchalance attitude. "Didn't you say you were going to finish that a couple of days ago? You know you could of told me and we could of finished the assignment sooner."

Jaune scratched his head nervously from her question, "Well, I would of gotten you. But you seemed so stressed out from that one scroll call from your sponsors, and I didn't want to add on to that stress pile Pyr. I just wanted to give you some space." The knight looked down in shame, making the red haired girl's eyes widen ."Plus I just didn't know what subject I was going to do. Honest!" She could see it in his blue eyes, he was telling the truth.

He wasn't wrong about his assumption, these last couple of days with dealing sponsors and her agents upset her. She just wished they stopped calling her about business deals, sponsorships, and those annoying commercials that frustrated her. She didn't want her fame to start hitting Vale's streets so she could be heckled, she had enough of that worship at Mistral thank you very much.

But here Jaune was, just trying to be considerate to her situation. Her partner was just trying to care about her feelings.

"You.. You mean it?" Pyrrha said her tone shallow, close to being too emotional.

"Of course I do Pyrrha. I wanted to figure this out on my own anyways." He smiled at her, stopping her heart a bit from that wonderful bright smile. "You do so much for me already. Now its my turn to take care of my own problems." But the blond wasn't finished as he clasped his hands in Pyrrha's, making her cheeks turn a ruby red.

"And... I want to help you in anyway I can too Pyrrha!" Jaune said with determination. "I want to help out anyone I can with there problems no matter how big or small." As he looked at Pyrrha, his head slightly turned towards Blake as well. She saw him look and widened her eyes in surprise as well. She could feel his aura of comfort right next to her. It felt like a warm blanket wrapping around her to protect her.

He didn't even know she was feeling a sort of despair, and yet he was comforting her with his aura alone.

'ZZZZT'

Blake lets out a yowl of surprise that no one noticed as she felt a small shocking surprise from the Book of Mudora, only confusing the cat faunus. It left a slight tingle in her left hand, rubbing the area that she was shocked at.

"What... was that?" She looked at the book in surprise, suddenly seeing it glow blue faintly before going away back to its normal state.

"Yeah! You go fearless leader!" Nora whooped out in happiness, Ren feeling the same with a smile on his own face.

"Wow you go Vomit Boy! Or should I say Vomit Man. Cause that's a manly thing to say." Yang was raising her eyebrows up and down, she was definitely impressed with Jaune rise of confidence right now. She didn't think her fellow blond had it in him.

"That's my best friend right there!" Ruby said out in happiness. "No offense BFF." She sent a small apology to Weiss, in which she only shook her head with a smile on her face.

"I suppose this is a step in the right direction for Arc." Weiss spoke up, even she couldn't help but give the dorky knight some credit.

Pyrrha couldn't help but be a little teary eyed at the moment. She wiped the single tear that fell from her face. Suddenly enveloping him in a comforting hug. Hands around his back and head into his chest.

"Jaune... Thank you." she said with as much genuine feeling she could give.

"Anytime... Partner."

While Pyrrha wasn't so sure about how Jaune learned what he did, she just had a feeling who or whatever was looking out for him wasn't there to harm him.

And that's all she cared about.

They both released each other from the hug. Back from their own little world, Pyrrha could only smile like a loon, while Jaune could only blush from contact from his gorgeous partner.

"So, can you tell me what the book is about Jaune?" Pyrrha asked out loud, causing the others to tune in as well.

"Yeah Jaune, what kind of book are you and Blakey reading together." Yang was back to her shit eating grin. "Is it another one of your 'Romance Novels' Kit-Kat?" Yang questioned, waiting to get a rise out of her partner. But it seemed the cat ninja was indisposed at the moment as she was just staring at the large book in question. Jaune only blushed from that implication.

"Yeah fearless leader, whatcha readin?" Nora said out, curious as well to what her team leader was up to.

"Well the book is called-" He would of finished, but something interrupted him.

Something that made him angry.

A cry of anguish.

"OWW! Hey! STOP!" He heard the familiar cry of a certain rabbit faunus, and in that same token. The same dirtbags that caused her that pain were doing it again. Everyone else in the cafeteria were just watching.

Team CRDL were back at it again, pulling Velvet's ears. With Cardin leading the charge to this bulling. All of Team RWBY and JNPR saw this happened. Jaune heard a growling to his right. Blake was furious seeing this again, her bow straight up and eyes turned into angry slits. Yang and Pyrrha only tighten their fists ready to step in. Meanwhile the rest of group could only give the team of bullies the iciest glare that they could muster.

"Heh, what are you gonna do freak? Punch me?" Cardin said, as Dove, Sky, and Russel laughed about that, only causing Winchester to pull on Velvet's ears once more. Causing her even more pain.

"Stop! It really hurts!" Her pleas fell on deaf ears. Jaune looked around to see no one doing anything about these assholes.

"Look Cardin she's crying out again." The blue haired Sky laughed out again. " 'Oi, somebody halp te poor ole bunny rabbit.'" the blue haired asshole mocked in a fake cockney accent, causing more laughter for their team, and in term making a certain blond reach a boiling point.

Jaune was done sitting by and letting this happen.

Before anyone in the group could call him back to the tables. His legs took him towards the tables that held Team CRDL and the miserable Velvet.

"How about some more yanking frea-" Before he could finish that sentence, he was shoved away from Velvet. He looked who the culprit and could only put on a smug grin.

"Heh... Well if it isn't Jauney Boy. Come to get some pull's on the freak yourself my friend?" Cardin said, with an almost friendly tone. But Jaune knew better, that voice was full of a smarm that he wish he could just smear out.

"No. I'm here to stop this abuse of a friend." Jaune retorted back in anger. "What happened to not messing with my friends! Did that mean anything to you!" He checked if Velvet's ears were hurt anymore.

"Are you alright Velvet?" Jaune asked the rabbit faunus, and she nodded towards him to signal to him that she was alright.

"Yes... Thank you." Velvet looked up to her knight in shining armor with thankful eyes.

"Get out here Velvet. I'll take care of this." She nodded as she went to find Coco and her other teammates.

"Tch. Your friends with that freak Arc? I thought you ran with a better crowd." Cardin said, not impressed with the blond.

"Better than yours anyways." Jaune snarked back.

"Tch in your dreams loser." Sky said to the blond, only to have the Arc's ire on him for a second, just to turn that anger back towards Cardin.

"I thought I told you to keep away from my friends Winchester. Didn't know you broke your promises." Jaune said with a glare.

"Well what can I say Jauney Boy, old habits die hard. Especially when its putting animals in their place." With that line his whole team chuckled, only pissing the blond knight off more.

"Well this habit is dying today Cardin." Now understanding the situation. Cardin gave off a heated glare of his own. His other teammates backing him up from behind. "No more of this bullying bullshit, your trying to be respectful Huntsmen for Oum's sake, so start acting like one. I don't want start treating you like children." Jaune didn't notice, but Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren were right behind him, ready to step in and assist him if things were going to get hairy.

"What are you gonna do weakling, beat us up?" Russel laughed out at the ridiculousness of Jaune Arc beating them up, it was laughable.

"I might be cool with you now Arc, but you aren't gonna tell me what to do." Cardin only waved him off. "Especially considering you are the weakest fighter of our year." But Jaune didn't rise to the bait, instead he calmed his breath and gave a look of straight fiery determination.

"Alright Winchester... If you really think that's true. Then how about you put your lien where your mouth is." Jaune calling him out. Making everyone from his table look at him with wide eyes. "Ms. Goodwitch's combat class. If my team gets matched up with yours. I'll show you just how much I have improved by shutting you up." Cardin and his teammates only gritted their teeth.

"Unless your scared of a weakling beating your ass?" The blond knight continued, making everyone in the cafeteria 'Ooooooh' from the challenge and throwback comment.

"Tch your on Arc loser. We'll see if you'll be keeping that bravado when your face down on the floor." Dove was the one to pipe up this time. Cardin scoffed Jaune, thinking this will be an easy victory.

"See you then Jauney Boy, hope you don't cry when you lose." Cardin walked into his shoulder while the rest of team CRDL followed him out of the cafeteria.

"Trust me, your going to be one in tears." Jaune said back to him, and with that the other team left and the tension was gone from the cafeteria.

"Game on Cardin, I'll show you all how far I've come." Jaune thought as he went with his team back to their and Team RWBY's table. Silently sitting down to finish his meal. Not noticing that everyone was staring at him with different reactions.

"Jaune." Ruby said with a neutral tone of voice.

"Yes Ruby?" He replied back.

"That...Was... AWESOME!" She yelled out, scaring the blond noodle knight a bit.

"When did you become so cool!" Ruby said with excitement, but Jaune just shook his head at the young leader. Ruby only tilted her head at his response.

"It wasn't about being cool Ruby, I just wanted to stand up and help someone that needed some." Jaune said back, surprising Weiss, Blake and Yang from this new confident demeanor from Jaune.

"Growl~ Lover Boy's got some stones. Seeing him like that was was pretty sexy." Yang thought. That kind assertiveness was definitely attractive when putting creeps like Cardin and creeps in his place.

"So cool!" Ruby could only think, while Blake's eyes were still widened from what just happened. She couldn't believe Jaune stood up for someone that was a faunus, while she did nothing but scowl and leer. She should of gotten up and went to help her faunus sister, but instead she stood by like a coward and let Jaune handle the situation. She only looked down in guilt, but at the same time she definitely had respect for Jaune's bravery to stand up and fight for someone in trouble.

"That's ARC! What happened to the incompetent dunce?!" Weiss Schnee was the most flabbergasted of the bunch, she couldn't believe the blond annoyance just changed his demeanor just like that into a serious huntsmen meaning business.

All in all, everyone on Team RWBY and JNPR had one question they wanted answered.

What had happen to the goofy Jaune Arc?

(Professor Goodwitch Class, Fighting Arena)

When class was about to beginning. Jaune had this feeling of adrenaline in his body. Like this sudden spike of energy that was about to burst out all at once.

He didn't know what kind of sparring or fighting exercise that Ms. Goodwitch was going to announce for the last class of the semester, but she hinted at it being... fun.

Fun usually meant painful for him cause of his poor performance in his fighting. He hasn't really done well in Goodwitch's sparring class, and he doesn't know how he was going to fair in this last class of the semester.

But he knows he can change for the better. He was going to put his all into any kind of training with his sword, learning different fighting techniques, thinking of different strategies, maybe even give his shield and sword a tune up with some Dust.

After all, The Hero's Shade did tell him to improve and come up with better ideas before their next encounter and he definitely didn't want to disappoint him.

He was here to become a hero, sure he might not be the best fighter. But the only way is up now, and he'll claw his way up to stand next to his fellow Huntsmen.

"Good afternoon class." Glynda Goodwitch said to everyone in the auditorium. "Since this is the last day of combat practice for the semester. I wanted to try an exercise that will be... fun in a way." The professor had a small smile on her face that made everyone shiver, even Jaune was shaking in his shoes.

When Ms. Goodwitch said something was fun it definitely meant the total opposite.

"So without further delay let us get started. This combat exercise will require a 4 on 4 match up with random teams." the witch explained, "However. It will not be a four on four match as it will be an endurance fight set in one on one's." Which only confused the students on how the combat instructor explained it.

"Each starting member of the two teams will be randomized and will fight until there is a ring out or their aura goes into the red. Afterwards, the person that is still standing will have the option to stay in the ring for another round or substitute into another teammate." She explained, which raised a couple eyebrows from this exercise. That got some of the students excited, Nora and Yang in particular were licking their chops to get to chance and fight.

"That being said, the person that is substituted can reenter the fight if they have more than thirty percent of their aura if one of their teammates have been defeated. There will be no substitution if that teammate is eliminated from ring out, doing so will without permission will disqualify your team, and will suffer disciplinary action." As she said this, cracking her ridding crop into her hand and her green eyes darken.

Jaune and a lot of the other kids gulped at that threat, getting the message entirely.

"With that explanation done, let us see the wheel of fate turn for our first team exercise." She brought up a slot machine of four symbols. They all spun in a fast rate for a couple of seconds, before landing on the first team.

It seems Jaune's team was up first on the exercise.

"Team JNPR is first, now for the opposition." As Goodwitch said that the second one stopped. Jaune could only widen his eyes, before narrowing them in determination. Looking at the opposing leader in a scowl.

Cardin looked in Jaune's direction, giving a cocky smirk towards the Arc boy.

"The first matches have been decided, Team JNPR will face Team CRDL." Goodwitch said out loud.

Jaune only growled out, guess he was going to show his skills sooner rather than later.

"And now the randomizer will choose the first match ups." With the two slots spinning fast, the other members of team JNPR had various reactions. Pyrrha was determined and hopefully able to go first, Ren was sort of motivated since lunch time to take these jokers down. But Nora was straight up bloodthirsty, as she kept muttering that she was going to 'break their legs' on repeat.

As the roulette stopped the teams were surprised to see the matchups.

Jaune Arc vs Dove Bronzewing

Jaune for some reason only grinned as he saw he was facing the tan haired swordsman.

A one on one sword fight... Just what he has been trained for.

ANNNNND SCENE!

Jesus my hands hurt from typing that out.

So... I'm unfortunately gonna have to put the fighting next chapter. I am sorry I lied, but honestly I wanted to pace this stuff out and I think an all out endurance match against Team CRDL will be a treat. I know they aren't really strong when Pyrrha mopped the floor with all four of them in canon. But we haven't got to that point and I want to save Pyrrha kicking ass.

But this is Jaune's time to prove his little training from the Hero's Shade and Hoplite to come into fruition, and who better than to stick it too than the jackasses of RWBY.

However... If you think I am going to just use Team CRDL as just one-dimensional racist assholes and punching bags, I am sorry you will be sorely disappointed.

I have a plan for all of them other than just them being jobbers.

Also I think its fucking criminal that Jaune didn't get that salty runback at Cardin or even any of his cronies, I wanted some more human fights for Jaune motherfucking Arc, and we don't get that in the show. But don't worry, Jaune's gonna be balls deep in fights in this story. I want that for him, and I think he deserves it in my opinion. The only thing that could be better is if RT thought the same and gave him some fights.

But I guess that's what you get when people hate a Self Insert from one of the writers, god I hate talking about that debate.

Look how they massacre my boy with no flashy fights, come one RT. I know the fans have to pick up the slack with fan animations of Yang beating the crap out of the blond noodle, but come on!

Plus I think you guys are gonna be in for a surprise for what our old man Skeletor taught our blond noodle next chapter. I'll tell you this much, its quite the doozy.

By the way, how did I do with the characterizations? I hope I didn't make them too cringey or anything like that. I felt ok with changing Blake and the others because I think they kind of have bland personalities later on in canon. So I wanted to give some comedy to Yang, Nora, and some of Blake. Making Ruby just this silly girl just feels refreshing to me.

I probably still need to work on Weiss not being snooty or frosty, but I can't help it. It just seems like she has this attitude in the early volumes. Also I just wanted Jaune to be a bit more serious about things, but still keep that goofy nature. I also hope I didn't make Pyrrha too sappy.

I don't know you guys let me know in the comments or PM me on how I characterized everyone, I just wanted some little character interaction here and there, whether it be for corny punny comedy or just some sappy stuff.

I honestly wanted to put the fights in this chapter, but it would of felt too bloated. Plus in this chapter we get introduced to the charts and maps of the story.

The Quest for the Medallions will begin soon.

By the way sorry this chapter took a bit, my ideas in my brain were swirling and I couldn't focus. I have a lot of ideas I want for this story later on and I think it will be exciting for you readers if you stick around.

With that, I'll leave it off here. Follow, review, or PM me if you want to and I'll try to get to you if I am available.

This is Irongiant9000 signing off.

Next Chapter: Chapter 5: Looking Skyward to The Hero's Blade
