Epilogue

POV- Harley Quinn

Four Months Later

Selina was just about to grab the money when we heard cars pull up outside.

I cursed under my breath when I saw the red and blue lights flashing outside.

"Selina! We need to get out! Cops are here!", I said to her.

She too cursed, dropping the money.

Just as we went through the back door, the cops burst through the front.

"Stop! Freeze!", one of them yelled.

We were already off. Bolting down the alleyways and hopping over fences. After about ten minutes of running we made it to the apartment building.

Selina and I came through the window out of breath and flopped down on to the couch.

Even though this wasn't successful it was fun, I loved the feeling of the adrenaline pumping through me as we ran.

Getting up I padded down to my room and looked in the mirror. A pale, blonde haired girl stared back at me. But she wasn't the same anymore.

After taking off the black eye mask I'd stolen and removing the little makeup I had, I put my red and black pajamas on.

It had been four months since I escaped the Joker's grasp. Four months since I got my revenge, four months of being free. I came straight to Selina like I promised her I would. I felt a little safer with her.

But the weird thing is, is that during these few months the Joker hasn't tried to escape. He hasn't even attempted to break out. Nobody was suspicious.

Except for me.

Everyone thought his criminal ways were over and done with. It was a little more peaceful in Gotham, except for the occasional Arkham inmates getting out once in a while trying to terrorize more Gotham citizens.

Nobody thinks he has some other massive plan brewing inside that insane head of his.

Even when I talked to Selina about it, it seemed as if she actually agreed with everyone else. She told me to let it go so I pretended to after that. But on the inside, I'm still on edge.

Walking back out I sat on the couch with Selina, who was complaining about nothing being on. After flipping through the channels trying to find something to watch, she settled for the news.

There was a commercial so we both got up to find some food. I settled for leftover pizza. After a minute the news had come back on so I sat back on the couch.

The young weatherman, probably in his late twenties, was talking about the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

"Tonight's forecast has eighty percent chance of showers with thunder and lightning. Tomorrow is seventy percent chance of showers and later in the evening may clear up."

Selina was trying to talk to me but she abruptly stopped.

Turning it up a bit I listened in. The newscaster's face had paled as she read a screen.

"The Joker has just broken out of Arkham Asylum tonight.. Nobody knows where he's headed bu-."

I spoke too soon.

Suddenly the news cut off and the Joker appeared on the screen all clad in his purple suit.

Thunder clapped outside, making me jump.

The blood drained out of my face as I saw the face painted Clown Prince of Crime himself say hello to the camera.

No. It can't be.

Lightning struck in the sky when the worst of my fears stared into the screen.

"Hello citizens of Gotham City. Tonight I've broken out of Arkham to go see a uh, dear friend of mine."

His voice sounded deep and dangerous, like he was frustrated or angry.

"Ya see, she thought she was safe from me for forever and things would go back to normal", he said gesturing with his hands.

"You know who you are", he deadpanned as he looked into the camera.

"And uh, guess what?", he asked staring into the screen as if he could actually see me.

His tongue flicked across his lip.

"I'm coming for you."

And that is the end of this story. Hope you all of you enjoyed! I will not be making a sequel (if any of you were wondering).

I've had so much fun writing this story and I can't wait to start my other one. Thank you to everyone who has read each chapter, supported me, followed, favorited, and reviewed! I never thought this story would turn out like it has and that people would actually like it so a huge thank you to everyone! And thank you to my best friend who has helped helped me with the chapters! I love you all!

As for my next story, it will be a Riddler/OC story! The Joker will be involved too. I won't tell you much more because I haven't written much yet. There isn't a set time or date I'll be posting it. Keep your eyes open for it, but until then I'll see you all soon! :D
