Morning Star Chapter 1
2 Years Later:
It was a disaster.
So much death and unimaginable loss have occurred since that faithful day when everything turned upside down. Darkseid has completely taken over the planet, killing a majority of the population, relieving it of its treasured resources, and is coming close to succeeding in doing the same to the rest of the galaxy. Even fewer of the heroes are left with the bulk of them having perished during the first onslaught. A tremendous amount has even turned turncoat and is now working for Darkseid fully and completely, heedless to those still fighting for their freedom.
Earth has become vile and tainted, perhaps tarnished irreversibly by the damage done to it. Unrecognizable with little room or hope to ever heal.
A forsaken realm in this unadaptable environment.
In the face of the ever-looming destruction that Darkseid is determined to unleash upon their planet that will bring about guaranteed annihilation of the planet there appears to be no adverse recourse other than to make alliances with those never considered before.
While Superman had been off recruiting Damian, Shiva, Etrigan, and Constantine with Raven, Lois Lane was trying to gain help through less conventional and suitable means in order to increase their numbers.
At present Lois is in the middle of a boxing match with the new and most recent leader of the Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn.
It's a literal madhouse in the abandoned Stryker's Island where the Suicide Squad and their forces have set up base. The match is in full swing. If Lois wins the fight, then the Suicide Squad is going to join the resistance in their endeavor against Apokolips.
During the boxing match, in the shadows up above on one of the higher levels of one of the old pods they're using for this, someone is observing the proceedings, keeping a close eye on things. She notices the newcomers, eyes softening when she sees Damian in his Robin costume and then narrow in hate when she catches sight of Superman in his diminished form.
The opponents are pretty much even, but Lois is the one to eventually come out on top triumphant.
The deal has been struck. As Harley Quinn says to everyone that works under her that tomorrow they're going to the fortress where Lex Luthor is guarding the teleport to Apokolips and take back the planet. Her declaration is met with cheers by the crowd.
Well, most of them.
Negotiations are at an end for this part, the alignment of interests converging is more than enough for a significant boost.
As the crowd disperses to make preparations those that remain are the main leaders and heavy hitters of the Suicide Squad. Bane, Cheetah, Black Manta, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark.
As they're converging Damian catches Bane casting anxious glances at the pod's upper levels as if searching for someone, tense as though expecting a surprise attack from above. When it does not come Bane visibly relaxes his rigid posture yet still on guard.
With what Bane knows his concern is justified a hundred times over.
Harley Quinn explains that after she took control of the Suicide Squad, they've basically been doing freelance work. They've been taking a serious cut from Luthor's supply trains since everything went to hell. Rob from the rich and sell to the poor. Not exactly charitable work if they're making a profit from it if people are struggling so badly to make it these days. Unfortunately, you've got to do what you've got to do. That doesn't mean everyone has to be content about it including those that are participating in the potentially unpleasant activity.
Preferring to get down to the business of why they're actually here in the first place to talk to them, holding up a laptop she brought with her, Lois Lane said "Do you have somewhere private? You need to see this."
"My office. We'll discuss everything over my top-notch bottle of hooch," said Harley Quinn, invitingly.
"That depends on whether or not the information they have is any good or even worth risking. Knowing Superman here it'll probably end up as a failure just like last time."
All eyes travel to the voice's owner.
Damian's and Clark's eyes widen in shock, unease, and sheepishness upon recognizing it.
From the second level in the pod emerges from the shadows Alba Grayson, better known to all of them as the former Gotham heroine Morning Star.
And she's none too pleased to see Clark Kent at all if the glare Alba's been constantly aiming in his direction is anything to go on.
Alba is wearing knee-high boots over some boyfriend jeans, fingerless elbow-length gloves, and a loose-fitting t-shirt.
A t-shirt that fails to conceal the noticeable bump in her belly that reveals her pregnancy to all that are watching her.
Any questions about the father's identity are soon thrown out the door as it doesn't linger for long. Specifically, when Alba moves to stand beside Bane, pressing into his side as he wraps a possessive arm around her waist, one hand pressed over her protruding stomach.
The probability of this alliance becoming a sensible arrangement has just become far more complicated than any of them intended it to be.

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of days ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.
When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.
Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.
Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads. But when it does I'm definitely pressing the report abuse button.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
