BTW, if anyone wants to see what Raven looks like, I have a few pics of her on my deviant art...there's also one of her with Luna in their original 'fic by Queen of Pinkie's Cupcakes. Links at the end of the chapter :)
Simon finished putting on the old-fashioned coat.
"...You keep your eyes down. You do not speak unless spoken to, and most importantly, do everything they ask. That's how you stay alive." Raphael fussed.
His intent on getting Simon perfect for this dinner reminded him of the way a servant stresses over following their masters orders.
He thought it was hilarious.
The Vampire Mob Boss of New York fixing him, of all people, a dinner suit.
But the fact also unnerved him. Raphael- with all his hatred towards Simon- is fixing him a dinner suit. The person Simon was about to meet had the power to strike fear in one such as Raphael. Princess Raven, Raphael had said. He was prepping him for a dinner with sharks.
"...Okay, we are finished." He said, opening the door to the corridor. He gestured Simon out. "The Dining Hall is straight down this hallway. Follow it to the end, you won't miss it."
He did.
The doors, handles of falcons, opened without Simon touching them. He walked in cautiously.
"Sit down," a kind, calm, but deadly sounding voice said from the other side of the lengthy glass table.
Startled, his eyes searched for the owner of the voice.
She sat gracefully in a silk red dress and black fur flowing from its waist. A thickly-lined skull flashed in the center of her chest, matching the smaller version on her silver tiara and the ones dangling form her ear lobes Her red, cat-like eyes completely focussed on him, drinking in his wavering nerves and his old- fashioned suit.
"Raphael has good taste, I'll give him that." She said as Simon took a seat. The princess played absentmindedly with the strings of dead-straight, midnight-black hair at her collar.
Luna entered, wearing the same blue dress as before. She took a chair in the center between Simon and Raven. After a few seconds of silence and tense glances between the three of them, Luna whistled loudly between her fingers.
A rush of servants came through another door, carrying massive plates of food and bottles of red liquid Simon easily identified as blood. One of them carried the biggest roasted anything Simon had ever seen. He could only just see the Princess's tiara over it.
The werewolf in the center was practically shivering with glee at the thing in front of her.
"Help yourself- you must be starving," Raven said kindly.
Reaching down next to her chair, Luna pulled out a monster of a chainsaw to her lap. The thing looked to be twice the size of her. She lifted it easily, and got up to stand on her chair over the roast.
"Yes. I. Am!" She said, the smile becoming vicious.
Sensing his eyes on her, Luna met them with her own daring, ochre ones. She stroked the chainsaw in her hand, still effortlessly holding it in the other.
"Simon, meet Lollipop."
She turned it on, the noise deafening even to him. Then she started carving the roast on the table.
