AN: Sorry it took so long to update. Thankfully, it wasn't as long as the last time. I never wanted to be like those authors, who take years to update a story that everyone loves. But now that I am an author; I finally get it, now. There are many kinds of authors. But there are also just as many reasons, to be slow on the updates. Some could lose interest in a story, entirely. Others may get writer's block. Or sometimes, other things can get in the way of your writing. That's life.
Also, I just wanted to say again, for the record. I may have watched Ultraman Tiga, growing up; but I get all my facts and information about him, from reading online. For example, it's like what I said about his color timer. Traditionally, an Ultraman can only stay on Earth for 3 minutes; sometimes, maybe a bit more.
That's what it said about Tiga. That he could only stay on Earth for 3 to 5 minutes. But I did read, somewhere; that his time limit could be extended, depending on the user, and their will. But I'm not sure if that was because he was in a certain place; or if it was because something special happened to him.
But either way, if it comes down to a matter of will; then at least Jimmy already knows that he has to become stronger.
Now, with all that said and done; LET'S JUMP INTO IT!
Somewhere in the mountains, far away from civilization; there exists an ancient, and abandoned temple. The temple was currently being broken into, by Morgaine le Fey, and her son, Mordred. A golden aura of magic, was allowing them to levitate, a few feet off of the ground. Morgaine was wearing a long red dress, with what looked like golden torso armor; and a golden mask, that covered her face. Her son had on an outfit, that was reminiscent of a squire's uniform.
His mother had always told him, that one day, he would be a powerful King. So much so, that she had cast a spell on him, of eternal youth. For centuries, he has remained in the form of a child. Her reasoning for this, was that she wanted him to be able to rule, for a long time. But Mordred was getting sick and tired of waiting. He desperately wanted to be king.
"This better be worth it, mother! I mean it!" Mordred said with annoyance. As they continue to float down the hall; he was playing with a portable handheld game. He was trying to get past all of the boredom.
"If the legends are true, it will be." She responded.
"You've been saying stuff like that, for centuries. Nothing ever changes." He retorted.
"Everything's changed, except you, Mordred. And that's because I want you to still be young, when I give you your kingdom." His mother told him.
"I want to be king, NOW!" He shouted. They stopped at a statue, that had six arms. The statue was gripping something, that emitted a strange purple glow. "What's this thing? Another stupid charm!" He added, in a sarcastic manner.
"It's "The Amulet of First Magic." The source of all earthly sorcery." She informed him.
Mordred didn't think much of it. He then climbed on top of the statue; and waited for his mother to release the amulet. His mother blasted the statue with a wave of magic, that made it slowly release its grip on the amulet. When it was free, Mordred grabbed the amulet; before the magic stopped, and the statue closed its fist, once more.
"At last! Mordred, give that to me!" His mother commanded.
"Why should I?" He answered, with a scowl.
"Silly child! You're not-" Before she could even finish speaking; her son had already put the amulet around his neck.
"Not what? Ready? Or big enough? Or old enough? None of that matters, mother. Because now, I'm strong enough!" He said, as the power of the amulet, was now coursing through him.
"MORDRED!" His mother shouted; before she sent a blast of magic, towards him. But her son was now strong enough to deflect her blast, with just one hand. This surprised Morgaine. She didn't think that he would get so strong, so fast. But clearly, he had already mastered the amulet. Now, he was even stronger than her. Magic flowed up and down Mordred's body; replacing his clothing. He was now wearing black and gold armor; with a red cape, and the crown of a king.
"I'll have my kingdom; and without anyone telling me what to do. I never want to see you, or anyone older than me, ever again!" He said, just before he released a wave of magic; that made his mother disappear. The wave then went on to cover the entire Earth.
It was still early in Metropolis; and Ultraman could be seen, flying overhead. Slowly but surely, he was getting used to being a superhero. He had already stopped a few muggings. He foiled a couple of robberies. He saved people. He took down all manner of criminals. No crime was too small for him. As he was just starting out; he hadn't met a lot of supervillains. There were those that fancy themselves, above average criminals. But even they didn't go unnoticed by Ultraman.
Although he hadn't been a hero for very long; the people of Metropolis recognized him as their protector. His mentor, Lorraine; was still against the idea of him being an everyday kind of hero. But she understood that, that's just the kind of hero that Jimmy wanted to be. He wanted to be someone that everyone could look to for help. Jimmy remembered what Lorraine told him; about focusing his energies into extending the time that he could remain Ultraman. So, that's what he did.
He trained himself, over and over again. Before, he can only stay Ultraman, for three minutes; before he started to get weaker. Through his training, he could now make it up to five minutes. But he wasn't about to give up. He knew that he could go further than that. Ultraman was still flying; until he came to a landing, in an alley. Following a flash of light; Ultraman had now changed back to Jimmy Olsen. He exited the alley, and began to walk to work. Everything was going great.
He was walking down the sidewalk; and it seems like a typical day in Metropolis. Until, there was a massive wave of energy, that swept over everything in its path. Jimmy saw people disappearing, right in front of him. He tried to run from the wave; but it was too late. It had already swept him up. The next thing that Jimmy knew; he and everyone else, were transported to a strange place. There was no sun, no clouds; and nothing that even resembled anything normal. Everyone was standing on floating islands. It was like another plane of existence.
Knowing that none of this was normal; Jimmy figured that it had to be the plot of some crazy supervillain. He had only just transformed back into his Human form; but Jimmy knew that he couldn't just let whoever was behind all this, just get away with it. He needed to become Ultraman again. He was on a floating island, with a lot of people. There wasn't really, a good hiding spot, to transform. Seeing no other choice; Jimmy jumped off the island. As he was falling, he pulled out The Torch, and gave it a squeeze.

A Human sized Ultraman, was now flying over the islands. As he was scanning over everything; it only took him a few seconds to notice one thing that was particularly odd. "Where are all the kids? Everyone's here, but there's not a single child in sight." He kept flying, until he spotted an island that had members of the Justice League on it; as well as a few villains. He flew towards them; thinking that he would have a better chance at figuring this out, if he worked with them. As he got closer, he could hear part of their conversation.
"We're probably just in another dimension." Green Lantern, also known as John Stewart, said.
"I don't see any children." Batman observed.
"That's what I was thinking." Ultraman said, as he landed next to them.
"You!" Superman and Batman said, in unison.
"Uh, me!" Ultraman responded, not really knowing what else to say.
"You two know him?" Wounder Woman inquired.
"Apparently, his name is Ultraman. This is the guy who helped me deal with those giant monsters, in Metropolis. He's also the one that Batman wouldn't stop fuming about. The one who got in his way, back in Gotham." Superman spoke.
"You're not still mad about that, are you?" Tiga asked, as he turned to look at Batman. Batman's only response to this question; was just to glare at Ultraman, without even saying a word. Ultraman had to admit; it was still scary to see him do that. "Yep, he's still mad!" Ultraman said, as he took a step back, in fear.
"If you're Ultraman; then that must mean that you're the guy who saved me and the others, back in Chong-Mai." Green Lantern said, as he put the pieces together. He was unconscious, towards the end of that mission. But he was told everything that happened, by Supergirl.
"Yeah. On that note, I never got to tell you that I'm glad you're okay. Anyway, I was trying to say that Batman's earlier observation, seemed a little weird to me too. While I was surveying the area, I didn't see any children." Ultraman informed them.
"That's because a child is responsible." Morgaine le Fey said, as she floated down to the island that they were standing on.
"Morgaine le Fey." Batman spoke.
"I mean you no harm. My son, Mordred, has wrought this treachery. Banishing all adults to this shadow realm. Even me, his own mother. And after I spent millennia feeding him, bathing him, preparing him to be king. Where did I go wrong?" She asked no one in particular. For Jimmy, this was all a lot to take in. Here he was, having a meeting with Morgaine le Fey. The same one from those stories about King Arthur, and Camelot. Turns out, that both she, and Mordred, were real.
"So all of this happened because your kid had a temper tantrum? He got mad, and somehow separated every child from every adult?" Ultraman asked, for clarification. Morgaine le Fey didn't care much for how he chose to phrase that. Nor did the members of the Justice League. They were more focused on how they would resolve this matter. It made Jimmy feel like the odd one out.
"You're a sorceress. Can't you just undo his spell?" Wonder Woman, also known as Diana, asked.
"No. He's got the Amulet of First Magic. He's too powerful. But if we all work together-"
"You want us to defeat your own son?" Batman inquired.
"So, don't trust me! Let him rule the world, and all of your children. Here we will stay, forever." The Sorceress mocked.
"But what can we do? We're stuck here, aren't we?" Diana wondered, out loud.
"Not exactly. The spell only banishes adults." The Sorceress clarified.
"I don't like where this is going." Green Lantern murmured.
"It's the only way." Morgaine le Fey said.
"We have to do it!" Superman declared.
"Not without me. I'm going too!" Ultraman said. They all turned to look at Ultraman. None of them knew him; and he didn't know them, not in the way that mattered. There was a definite chance that this mission could take longer than five minutes. He might run out of power, before it's over. He'd be risking his life for people that didn't know him; and probably didn't even like him that much. Yet, despite all that; he still wanted to try his absolute hardest, to save everyone. He would do it, for the adults, for the kids, and for Sarah.
"Just like some of you; I also have someone waiting for me. And how would I be able to look her in the eyes; knowing that I didn't do my best to help out? How would I be able to live with myself? How could I be worthy of her? I'm doing this because, somewhere out there, there's a fight that needs to be fought." Ultraman proclaimed. Somehow, based on how they were looking at him; it felt as if he gained new respect from some of the members of the Justice League. Green Lantern then released a breath of air, that he had been holding in.
"Excellent!" Morgaine le Fey said. She began chanting a magic spell; before the magic wrapped itself around Ultraman, and the Justice League. Then, in a flash of light, they were gone.
In the separate dimension, that was made for the children; the kids found themselves at an amusement park type village. Mordred floated down; and when asked who he was, he asserted himself as the king of the children. He used his power to remake the village, into a much darker version of itself. He headed to his new castle; and ordered the others to follow him. The kids followed him; albeit, a little reluctantly. Mordred was now getting everything he ever wanted. He was a king. He had a kingdom; and he had subjects to rule over.
Off in the distance; there were five shadows. These shadows belonged to Ultraman, and the Justice League. But something was different about them. Both the League, and Ultraman, had gone through a drastic change. In order to reach that dimension; they had to let Morgaine le Fey turn them into children. Ultraman looked at himself, and found that he was smaller than usual, in this form. He was also only a little bit scrawny. But he wasn't the only one. He saw that the rest of the League, also turned into smaller; and slightly less impressive versions of themselves.
"This better be temporary!" Batman said.
"You sound weird. Whoa! So do I." Superman commented.
"I kind of like this!" Wonder Woman said, with joy.
Green Lantern kept squinting, in an attempt to focus his eyes.
"What's the matter?" Batman asked Green Lantern.
"I wore glasses, as a kid. Guess I need them again." After saying that, his ring materialized a pair of glasses, right on his face. "Wow! I didn't even try to make these." Green Lantern said.
"I hope not!" Batman joked, while Superman was snickering.
Green Lantern focused, and changed the glasses into a much cooler version. Now they were part glasses, part mask. "Cool!" Superman commented, in response to the new glasses.
"So this is what Tiga looked like, as a kid." Ultraman murmured. Everyone was now looking at him. What he said was very strange, and foreign to them. It made him feel as if he should explain. "Oh, right! You see, I recently found out that this guy I can turn into; comes from a whole planet of people, who age much slower than normal humans. We're talking thousands, or maybe millions of years. So, to see him like this, as a kid; well, for all we know, that was probably millions of years ago. It's kinda cool, if you stop and think about it."
This was all very interesting; but Diana wanted them to get back on task. "Will you guys stop messing around? We gotta find Mordred!"
"Bet the little punk's in there!" Batman said, as he began running towards the castle. Everyone else started to fly. One by one, they all flew past Batman. When Wonder Woman passed him; Batman chose to speak up. "It's not a race!" He said, in the way of a kid; who was now nursing a bruised ego. The last person to fly by him, was Ultraman. He was now flying beside Batman; when an idea formed in his head.
"If you'd like, I could carry you." Ultraman offered.
"No way!" Batman responded.
"Is this about what happened in Gotham? Look, I'm sorry! I haven't been a hero for very long. You probably felt as if I got in your way. Then there was that whole thing about that building that almost crushed Robin. But I saved him. The truth is, I did everything I could to save everyone. The point is, I'm sorry; and I was really hoping that we could put this all behind us. So, what do you say? Friends?" Ultraman said, as he extended his hand. But Batman just kept on running.
"Look, I know you're proud; but at the rate you're going, it will take you a while to get to the castle. But if you let me carry you; you could be there lickety split." Batman hated the thought of relying on others. But the end result was, Ultraman carrying Batman; who had his arms crossed, in annoyance.
Inside the castle, Mordred was granting the requests of his subjects; and going bored out of his mind, in the process. The one thing that broke up the streak of boredom; was when the Justice League entered his throne room. Although, seeing them as children; made him less intimidated by them. "The Justice Babies!" Mordred said, followed by a laugh.
"What are you laughing at, precious?" Batman retorted.
"You. Mother sent you, huh? She shouldn't send a boy to do a man's job." Mordred said, as he activated the amulet's power.
"Funny! I don't see any men here. Just a boy, with an over inflated ego!" Ultraman quipped. This got to Mordred. He was already going to destroy them. But now that they've made him mad; he was going to make them suffer. He used his magic to bring to life, four huge robots, with deadly weapons. The children tried to run. Some of them got out of the castle; but the others were now trapped inside, when the doors slammed shut. As the rest of the League battled the robots; Batman went after Mordred.
He fired his grapple at him; but instead of connecting with Mordred, it pierced his throne, instead. Mordred laughed at Batman's poor aim; only for Batman to yank on the wire, and bring the throne crashing down on Mordred. Mordred got up, in a huff; and prepared to blast Batman, with his magic. However, Batman moved; and instead, Mordred just ended up blasting his own robot. During his attack, Ultraman noticed his glowing necklace. That must have been the amulet. Ultraman then approached Mordred.
"Judging by that glowing bling you've got around your neck; I'm going to assume that's the amulet we need. So why don't you just hand it over; and we'll both go our separate ways." Ultraman offered.
"And who are you supposed to be? I don't remember seeing you in the Justice League." Mordred declared.
"Oh, I'm sorry. We haven't been properly introduced. I'm the guy who's here to clean up the mess you've made. Now, I'll say it again. Give me the amulet!"
"Or what?" Mordred mocked.
"Trust me, you don't ever want to see, or what. Now, I'm trying to be nice about this. I really don't want to fight a kid. Please don't make me!" Mordred seemed unfazed by Ultraman's words. Tiga took this as a sign, that he wasn't going to cooperate. "All right, have it your way!" Ultraman said, as he rushed towards Mordred; and tried to take the amulet from him. A struggle ensued; and Mordred almost blasted him. This prompted Tiga to try to punch him; only for Mordred to put up a magical barrier, that sent Tiga to the ground.
Tiga then got to his feet. "News flash, you're not the only one who's got a few tricks, kid!" Ultraman said, before he fired off a blast of energy at Mordred. But Mordred just managed to deflect it with another magical barrier; before he smirked at the Ultraman's failed attempt. Mordred fired a magical blast at Ultraman; only for Ultraman, to hold it back, with a barrier of his own. Ultraman focused, and was able to send some of Mordred's attack, right back at him. Mordred tried to block it; but it ended up slamming him against the wall.
"Uh-oh! Looks like someone can dish it out; but they can't take it!" Tiga quipped. This made Mordred furious. He got up, and continued his assault on Ultraman. Elsewhere, on the battlefield, Green Lantern was trying to decide what constructs to use.
"I'll make a laser cannon. No, a missile launcher. Oh, oh, I know!" Green Lantern exclaimed, excitedly.
"Just pick something!" Batman commanded. In the end, Green Lantern created a giant boxing glove; that he used to smash the robot against the wall, completely destroying it. There were only two robots left. Superman managed to destroy one of them with his heat vision. Wonder Woman was having trouble with the last one. So Batman tried to help her, by jumping on it; and stabbing its head with a batarang. But then the robot, grabbed Batman by his cape; and lifted him in the air. Batman was now powerless to fight back.
Wonder Woman punched the robot in the leg; with such force, that the robot began to crumble, and fall to pieces. Batman was now falling; only to be caught by Wonder Woman, bridal style. "You okay, tough guy?" Diana asked him, out of concern.
But Batman only responded, by forcing his way out of her arms. "Let go, I'm fine!" Batman said, before he walked away. If there was one thing that Batman hated, it was to be treated as a liability; or as someone who has to be saved. In the past, Diana might have contributed that feeling, to damaging his ego. When Ultraman was done fending off Mordred's attacks; he saw the whole exchange between Batman and Wonder Woman.
"Oh, so it's not just me? You're like this with everyone!" Ultraman joked.
After all the robots were destroyed, Mordred made a claim that this wasn't fair. They all rushed towards Mordred; only for him to seal them all in blocks of ice. He said that they would be executed, just like all of his enemies. The ground then opened up, and they fell through. When they hit the floor below, the ice they were encased in, broke open. Superman tried to fly up and get Mordred; only to be stopped by a force field, which then sent him hurtling towards the ground.
Upon further inspection of their surroundings; they had determined that they were now in a dungeon, of some kind.
In the dungeon, a door was now opening. When the door was fully open; out walked a demon, with yellow skin, red eyes, fangs, horns, and pointy ears. He wore a red long sleeve shirt, with shorts; complete with matching red booties, and a somewhat blackish grayish cape. The demon's name was Etrigan. Long ago, in the days of Camelot; there was once a knight, by the name of Jason Blood. He betrayed Camelot, and everything he stood for; because he was in love with Morgaine le Fey.
But instead of returning that love, she poisoned him. Jason Blood was on the verge of death. But the wizard Merlin, didn't believe that to be a true punishment. So, he summoned Etrigan from the pits of Hell; and bound Blood's soul to him. It would remain that way, until he atoned for the great sin that he committed on that day. So, he spent the last few centuries chasing after Morgaine le Fey. Over the centuries, Etrigan made a few friends and allies. Batman in particular, was a close personal friend to Etrigan.
Currently, when Ultraman and the Justice League saw Etrigan; he had been turned into a baby. "What'd he do to the demon?" Green Lantern wondered out loud.
"Etrigan?" Batman asked, out of concern for his friend. But Etrigan simply breathed fire at them. Since he was now a baby, Etrigan had very little awareness, or sense of reason. He didn't know if the Justice League were friends, or foes. Wonder Woman grabbed Batman; and flew away from the blast. But Green Lantern managed to put up a force field, to block the flames. Superman grabbed a hold of Etrigan. "Don't hurt him!" Batman told him. Etrigan then bit Superman's arm.
"OW! Tell him that!" Superman said, before he threw the demon away. Etrigan belched fire at Superman; hitting him right in the face, and knocking him down. Green Lantern created a baby pen; and trapped Etrigan inside. But Etrigan climbed out; and nailed Green Lantern in the chest, with a headbutt. Ultraman tried to end the fight; by using his energy to imprison Etrigan in a domed shaped force field. Etrigan kept jumping up and down; bashing against the field. He even tried using his fire breath; but nothing seemed to work.
"You can fight all you want. But you're not getting out of there!" Ultraman declared. Seeing no other way out; Etrigan came up with a plan. He started digging at the ground beneath him; tunneling under the force field, and bursting through another part of the ground. "Or I could be totally wrong!" Ultraman said with worry. Batman threw his cape around Etrigan, in an attempt to wrangle him.
"Etrigan, cut it out!" Batman commanded. But Etrigan grabbed Batman's cape; and threw him right over his shoulder. He was now making his way towards the downed Batman.
"Etrigan, you stop right there! I mean it!" Etrigan turned around to see Wonder Woman standing over him. "You naughty monster! Bad, bad Etrigan!" Wonder Woman was now scolding him, the way a mother would her child. Etrigan began to cry because of this. "Hey, little guy! It's okay. I won't hurt you." Diana said, as she scooped Etrigan up into her arms, and cradled him.
"You've got to be kidding!" Batman remarked at the sight before him.
"He's just a baby." Diana told him, before she gave Etrigan a pat on the back. This caused him to belch out a little fire. "That's all he needed." Diana commented.
"Ah man, that ain't all he needs!" Green Lantern said, as he got a whiff of something nasty in the air. This told him that Etrigan needed his diaper changed.
"Now that, is a job for Superman!" Batman stated. While everyone else looked for a way out of the dungeon; Diana handed Etrigan to Superman. He made a disgusted face, as he got a whiff of the aroma that came from Etrigan. When they finally got outside; they saw all of the kids running rampant. They were out of control. Superman saw two boys fighting with the wooden swords; and he told them to knock it off. They refuse to listen to him, because he was just a kid. Superman shot heat vision towards their feet.
They started to listen to him, when they saw that he was a kid with laser beams coming out of his eyes. Wonder Woman stood up, in front of all of the children. "THAT'S ENOUGH!" Diana shouted, at the top of her lungs. All of the kids stopped what they were doing, to look at her.
"You can't tell us what to do! You're not our mom!" One little girl said to Wonder Woman.
"No, but I promise you; we will find all your moms. And I'm gonna tell!" Diana threatened. When the same little girl asked what they should do; Wonder Woman told them to go outside of town, and wait for their parents. The children were disappointed; but ultimately, they did as they were instructed. Diana, feeling triumphant, jumped down to where John and Bruce were; flashed them a smile, and walked away.
"Your girlfriend sure is bossy!" Green Lantern commented.
"Shut up!" Bruce retorted, before he himself, walked away.
"Wait! You mean those two are actually dating?" Ultraman asked Green Lantern.
"No. But for the life of me, I can't figure out why not. I mean, it's clear that they both like each other. I blame Batman's commitment issues. Maybe he thinks that having a girlfriend, wood cut into all of his brooding!" Green Lantern partially joked.
Ultraman chuckled at that; before he clenched his side, in pain.
"You okay?" Green Lantern asked.
Uh, yeah. It's nothing. I'm ok." Truth be told, this was the longest that Jimmy had ever stayed Ultraman. He fought against it for as long as he could; but his power was starting to wane. However, they still had a job to do. So he chose to continue soldiering on. When they all met up; they found Mordred, fast asleep. Green Lantern suggested using his ring to create a lawn mower, to chew Mordred up. Batman came up with a plan to get the amulet away from Mordred. A plan that didn't involve mowers.
The plan was to split into two teams; and then swipe the amulet from him. "I guess I'll go with Superman. Unless I should go with you!" Diana said to Batman, in a flirtatious manner. Thankfully, since Ultraman was the only one that didn't know their secret identities; they all remember to use their code names, when they were around him.
"Whatever!" Bruce responded.
"I'm fine to go with Wonder Woman." Superman offered.
"So Batman and I are good to go?" Green Lantern questioned.
"I changed my mind. I'll go with Batman. And Ultraman can go with Superman and Green Lantern." She said, while staring longingly at Bruce.
"Whatever!" Bruce repeated. It was starting to annoy him, how everyone kept going back and forth. Then Diana grabbed Bruce by the arm; and dragged him along with her. Ever since they turned into kids; it was like Diana had a little schoolgirl crush on Bruce.
"What's with them?" Clark asked.
"Man, for somebody with like fifty different kinds of vision; you are so blind!" Green Lantern mocked. Both he, and Ultraman, flew off. Ultraman could see what Green Lantern was talking about before. It was now plain as day, that Batman and Wonder Woman shared a special kind of connection.
"What?" Superman said out loud, to no one in particular. He still didn't get what was going on between Bruce and Diana. Everyone got into position. Unfortunately, before they could do anything; Ultraman's color timer started flashing red.
"Seriously? Can't you turn that thing off?" Green Lantern inquired.
"Actually, no. I've been Ultraman for too long; and I'm running out of power. If I don't change back, or get a recharge soon; then something really bad is going to happen!" Tiga stated. Despite this problem, Ultraman did his best to stay quiet. Green Lantern used his ring to create a giant pair of tweezers; and grab the amulet from the sleeping Mordred. It was going so well; until a little girl walked up behind them, and asked what they were doing. This made Green Lantern lose his focus, and drop the amulet.
Mordred started to wake up; so Batman gave the order to rush him. They all tackled Mordred to the ground. They had him pinned; and were about to take the amulet from him. "He's just a little kid!" Batman commented. A second after Batman said that; Mordred used his magic, to grow in size.
"Man, I hate Magic!" Green Lantern said, before Mordred grabbed a hold of Batman and Wonder Woman, and tossed them away. They now faced a giant Mordred.
"Now who's little!" Mordred mocked, before he tossed Superman to the ground.
"If my tank wasn't near empty; I'd show you who's little!" Ultraman challenge.
Mordred tried to stomp on Superman; but Superman used his heat vision to burn his foot, sending Mordred back. Superman snatched up the little girl, that they encountered; and was currently flying her to safety. Ultraman and Wonder Woman also took to the skies. But Green Lantern made a construct of a green surfboard, for him and Batman to fly on. Mordred used his powers to bring two stone gargoyles to life; and commanded them to chase after the Justice League.
Wonder Woman was able to destroy the first gargoyle; with Batman and Green Lantern, destroying the second. Mordred chased after them, until they took shelter in his castle; and barricaded the doors. He banged on the doors, and commanded them to come out; but they didn't listen to him. Inside, Ultraman kept getting weaker. Until he remembered something that his mentor told him. Lorraine told him that Tiga was fueled by light. Maybe he could use that to recharge. This caused him to come up with a crazy idea.
"I got a plan! I'll make some giant handcuffs, and-" Green Lantern tried to say.
"Forget it! We've got to focus on-" Batman started to say; but stopped when he saw the effect that his words had on Green Lantern. John was his friend; and he just disregarded him. Bruce was being a jerk; and as a result, he hurt John's feelings. He intended to make this right. "Never mind what I just said! We'll take care of everything else. Lantern, you go crazy!" Bruce instructed. This made Green Lantern crack a wicked grin on his face.
"But before you do that. I need you to do me a favor. I'm running on fumes here; but I think there's a way that you can recharge me. I need you to pour some of your Green Lantern energy into me. Aim for the flashing red light!" Ultraman informed Green Lantern; while he was pointing at his still flashing color timer. Tiga could see a questioning expression on Green Lantern's face. But this was something, that he desperately needed. "Please, just trust me!" Tiga implored him.
After another second of hesitation; Green Lantern did as he was asked. He aimed his ring at Tiga; and shot green will energy, right into his color timer. In almost no time at all; the light on his chest, went from flashing red, to a solid blue color. Ultraman had been recharged; and his strength was now back up to full thanked Green Lantern, before everyone got back to action. Mordred finally broke down the doors; only to find no one inside the castle. "Hey Junior!" A voice said from behind Mordred; forcing him to turn around.
The voice came from Green Lantern; who was now piloting a giant green mech. "How about picking on somebody your own size!" Green Lantern teased. Mordred cracked his knuckles, ready for a fight. The mech shot a barrage of missiles at him. But when the dust cleared, Mordred was unharmed; and wearing a set of armor, while also holding a huge mech fired a Gatling gun at him; but Mordred ran through the bullets, piercing the chest of the mech. The mech fell to the ground, and was completely destroyed.
"You thought you could beat me, in that pile of junk?" Mordred questioned.
"I wasn't really trying." Green Lantern hinted at.
Directly after that, Mordred could feel someone tapping on his shoulder. He turned around, only to find a now giant Ultraman. He had grown to about roughly the same size as Mordred. "Hi!" Ultraman said, as he punched Mordred, square in the face. After Mordred staggered back, Ultraman restrained him. He was holding him in place; so the Justice League could grab the amulet. Superman snatched the amulet; before Mordred broke free of Ultraman's grip, and fired an energy blast at him.
Ultraman countered with the Alpha Stream. The beams clashed for a while; but soon Mordred overpowered Tiga, sending him to the ground. Mordred caught Superman; who then threw the amulet to Batman. When Batman was caught, he tossed it to Wonder Woman. When everyone got caught, Wonder Woman threw the amulet away, only for Etrigan to catch it. Etrigan bit into the amulet; causing a massive magical shockwave. Etrigan was a little dazed after that.
"Please tell me we won! Because I'm getting really sick of this little brat!" A now human sized Ultraman asked the Justice League. However, Mordred got back up; and was still itching for a fight.
"Nice try! But I've already absorbed too much of the amulet's power." Mordred said, before he used his power to make all the heroes levitate. He pulled out a sword, and was preparing to execute the Justice League. He probably would have succeeded; if he wasn't distracted by a little girl, who said she was scared, and wanted her told the girl that she didn't need a mommy; and that she was better off without one. The girl started to cry. He told her to stop crying. Then he ordered her to. But no matter what; he couldn't get her to stop.
"Some king! I'm not impressed." Superman commented.
"What'd you expect? He's a boy, doing a man's job." Batman chimed in.
"You don't know what it's like, being stuck as a kid!" Mordred stated, as he got in Batman's face.
"Since you got all that power; you could have been a man, anytime you wanted. I think you're too chicken to grow up!" Batman mocked. Batman's teasing, caused Mordred to take a few steps back. Maybe there was some truth to his words. This whole time, Mordred never really considered using the amulet's power, to break his mother's spell.
"Yep, big chicken; that's what you are!" Green Lantern added.
"Face it, precious! You like being a little mama's boy!" Batman continued with his insults.
"They're right. I mean, come on; it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you've got mommy issues!" Ultraman added his own brand of teasing.
"I'LL SHOW YOU! I'LL SHOW YOU ALL!" Mordred shouted. He then used his magic on himself. There was a big flash of light. The heroes were back on the ground. Then they saw that the boy who cast the spell, was now replaced, by a man. "I'm older than you now!" A now adult Mordred said; as he rose to his feet.
"You sure are!" Batman said with a smirk. Unfortunately, Mordred learned too late, that the Justice League tricked him. Since he was now a man; he was then banished to the same realm, where all the other adults resided. With Mordred defeated, his spell became undone. The world was returning to normal; and all the adults came back. Including, Morgaine le Fey.
"A bargain, is a bargain." The Sorceress said, as she undid her spell on the heroes. Ultraman and the Justice League, were back to their grown-up selves. Even Etrigan changed back. He was once a baby in Diana's arms. But now, she was holding a full grown demon.
"Mommy!" Etrigan murmured, before Diana dropped him. Before Morgaine le Fey left; Batman asked her what happened to Mordred. She told him that the spell she cast on her son, gave him eternal youth. But since he broke it; all Mordred had left was eternal life. She was a bit vague in her description; but by the tone of her voice, it didn't sound good. After she was done explaining; Morgaine le Fey walked through a magical portal, and then she was gone.
Batman saw the children playing with their now returning parents. "Circumstances aside, it was kind of enjoyable to be a kid again!" Diana said to Bruce.
"I haven't been a kid, since I was eight years old." Bruce responded. No matter how much time went past; Bruce could never forget that fateful day, that he lost his parents. At times, it felt like that defined him. It's like it was always there, waiting for him in the shadows; preventing him from being truly happy.
"Okay, that's a little strange." Ultraman responded to Batman's unusual statement. "As for me, though. I didn't really get to experience my second childhood; not like you guys did. This whole time we were here; I never really got to see myself as a kid again. The only thing we all saw; was what Tiga would have looked like as a kid. Anyway, this was fun! I guess I'll see you guys at the next giant monster attack; or maybe when the Earth becomes threatened again. So, see ya!" Ultraman said, as he started to fly away; before someone stopped him.
"Wait! You did good work here, today. Why don't you fight with us? Join the Justice League! We could make a real difference, if we work together." Said Superman. On the inside, Jimmy was really excited. Superman, his pal, his hero; was actually asking him to join the Justice League. Superman wasn't alone in this thought. The other members of the Justice League, also looked eager to hear his answer. Except for Batman. He looked indifferent.
This was the coolest thing that has ever happened to Jimmy. Obviously, he wanted to join the Justice League. It was like an open invitation to sit at the cool kids table. Who wouldn't want that? It was a chance to be a big time superhero. But it also came with a few concerns. Concerns that Jimmy had to really consider. "Yeah! I'll definitely think about that." Ultraman said, before he flew away.
Back in Metropolis, Jimmy was rushing towards the Daily Planet. During the first magical wave; every adult had vanished. He wanted to make sure that everyone who was taken, was now returned. He made his way inside the building; and then into the bullpen. Jimmy scanned the room; and saw that everyone who should be there, was there. There was Lois Lane, Clark Kent, and Perry White. But Jimmy was relieved when he saw the one person who mattered most to him, safe and sound.
"Sarah!" Jimmy called out.
"Jimmy!" Sarah answered.
The two then ran into each other's arms, and embraced. When the wave hit; Sarah, and everyone else, were sent to a different place. She was scared. Not only for herself; but also, for her boyfriend. During everything that was happening; she just hoped that Jimmy was ok. Jimmy, on the other hand; was also worried about Sarah. A part of him wanted to search for her, when he was Ultraman. He even tried to, a couple of times. But he knew, that in order to help her, and everybody else; he first had to stop whatever was happening.
"Jimmy, are you ok?" Sarah asked, while she was still holding on to her boyfriend.
"I'm ok! How about you? Are you alright?" He asked his girlfriend.
"I'm okay, now. It's just, I was so scared. I was in a strange place; and I couldn't find you!" She said, as she rested her head on Jimmy's chest.
Jimmy placed his finger under Sarah's chin; and used it to tilt her head, getting her to face him. "Hey, listen! Whatever that was, it's over now. I'm ok, and you're ok. We're both fine. Everything's going to be alright!" Jimmy said, in a soothing manner. His aim was to comfort his girlfriend; who was clearly distraught. Jimmy had managed to put her mind at ease. But then, a random thought entered his head. "Hey, Sarah! Have you ever thought that, you might want kids, someday?" This caused Sarah, a look of surprise.
"Where did that come from?" She asked.
"Nowhere. It's just that, I recently came across a parent, who messed up with her kid. And as a result; the kid turned out, pretty rotten. I've always thought about having kids. I mean, how could I not? It's a normal thing, that everybody considers. But now I'm worried that I would drop the ball, as a parent. If I mess up bad enough, it could end up destroying my kid's whole life. I'm not sure how to deal with that!" Sarah had never seen this side of Jimmy before. She didn't know he thought about such things.
"It's impossible to know what the future holds. But this much, I do know. You won't be alone; when it comes to raising your kids. You are surrounded by people who love you, Jimmy. Me included. Any child, would be lucky to have you as a parent. You're a great guy, Jimmy; and I know you'll be a great father!" Sarah responded, with all the confidence in the world. It did Jimmy good, to know that someone had so much faith in him.
"And you would be an amazing mother!" Jimmy answered. Following that statement; Jimmy and Sarah embraced in a passionate kiss.
AN: Sorry, if this chapter seems a bit long. Honestly, there were parts of this chapter, that I enjoyed writing; and then parts that I didn't enjoy as much. Maybe I should have included Ultraman in more of the fight scenes. I was just trying to stay somewhat true to the episode.
Although, looking back; it probably wouldn't have hurt to change things up a bit. There are two highlights of this chapter, that I really liked. One, ultraman's interactions with the Justice League. Especially when Green Lantern was able to give him a recharge.
And two, the talk that Jimmy had with Sarah, regarding having kids. I finally made them have one of those big discussions, that any typical couple would have. Now it's out there; and they're thinking about it. And as always; if you didn't like something in this chapter, then that's all you have to say. Don't go out of your way to be unnecessarily cruel in the reviews. Be honest, but fair.
STAY AWESOME!
