If Lexie was alive when Amelia moved to Seattle, they would have become sisters. I just know it.
They would have been the annoying little sisters that steal Derek's surgeries and drive Meredith crazy.
"Derek Shepherd! What the hell are you doing up??"
"I had to get up! I was bored in my bed and had to something!"
"You are the worst patient I have ever had! You are a doctor! You know how much you need this rest! Get back to your bed immediately!"
Bailey was about to change to her street clothes, when she saw Lexie Grey in the hallway.
"Are you kidding me? I can't have a 5 minutes break?"
"Hey Bailey, what are you doing here?", Lexie said.
"I was about to ask the same. You think I want to be here? I have a kid at home, but apparently, you and your friends don't give me a rest!"
"I just... went for a... walk... more of a... wheeling trip..."
"Lexie Grey, you are rambling!"
"Nooo... I'm not... - I am just-"
"Wanted to see Sloan?"
"Nooo! I just- ok you got me, can I please see him?"
"No, and your puppy eyes are maybe working on your sister but not on me, so get back to your room immediately or I"ll bring Kepner to keep an eye on you!"
"Please don't, I promise I"ll be good!"
Lexie turned around. She's gonna see Mark. She is just gonna make sure Bailey won't see her. She can do this.
"What are you doing here?"
It was Addison.
"I went to... the cafeteria... I was hungry"
"The cafeteria is close now. It's too early"
"oh really? So I will just going back to my room."
Thanks god she doesn't know where is my room
"Bailey, didn't you finish your shift already?" ,Addison asked her.
"I did, but your ex husband and his sister in law are keeping me busy".
"I just saw Lexie, she said she wanted to go to the cafeteria. It's weird".
"oh really?"
I'm almost there
Little Grey! I knew I will find you here! What did I say to you?? You are stubborn like your big sister. The Greys are impossible!!! I'm paging Kepner."
"No!!! Please Bailey!"
"I warned you!"
"So what are you wanna do? see movies or-"
"Maybe. we can visit Mark?"
"You know what Bailey said"
"Seriously, April?"
"Lexie, can I ask you something?"
"No"
"Well, You don't really have a choice.
"Do you think Jackson likes me?"
"So you and Jackson..."
Lexie had a big smile on her face.
"What??? No!"
"Come on, April, we both don't know how to lie".
"We kissed"
"From the way you are looking at him you did more than just kissing".
"Lexie!"
"Am I wrong?"
"This is so embarrassing! I'm out of here!"
"I'm not gonna stop you"
April was about to leave, but then she remembered why she was here at the first place.
"April, You did a mistake. You can fix him. God is forgiving, you said it yourself".
"The problem is... it felt good".
"Sex doesn't supposed to feel bad. God I miss sex".
"Well, sex outside of marriage is supposed to feel bad".
"Is that what you believe or what someone told you?"
"I don't know"
"April, if you want to keep having sex do it. Life is too short for that. I was so close for dying. Do what you feel is the best for you".
"Are you ok?"
"I miss Mark"
"I think that Bailey left the hospital. Everyone is asleep or at home so no one will see us. Let's go see him".
"Thank you, April!!"
near Mark's room
"Are you sure you want to see him like that?"
"Yes"
"Ok. I'll give you some time alone".
"April?"
"What?"
"Thank you".
April smiled at Lexie.
When Lexie came in, she saw Mark.
"Hey Mark. How are you feel? I missed you so much. Please wake up. I am waiting for you , waiting for you here to wake up."
"Oh god it's really hot in here, I'm just gonna take off my shirt... it's better but still hot... I'm taking of my pants..."
"Seriously, Mark?"
Lexie took his hand and put her head on his bed for a few moments.
When she looked at him again, she started crying loudly.
"Please wake up. You have to wake. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up". Lexie was screaming now.
"Oh god, Lexie, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have-"
"I would have done it anyway. It was nice to have someone by my side. Thanks, April."
"Let's get you back to your room".
A few hours later
"Lexie, how do you feel?"
Lexie didn't respond. She just looked at Meredith with sad eyes.
"Lexie are you ok?"
No response
"I'm paging Amelia"
A few minutes later, Amelia arrived.
"Amelia, there is something wrong with Lexie! She doesn't speak".
"Hey Lexie, this is Amelia, Derek's little sister."
"Maybe she has a brain bleed or-"
"Meredith, Lexie is fine physically. She is traumatized. I will page psycho".
"No! She was fine yesterday! We were talking and laughing. Stay with her for a few minutes. I am gonna be right back.
Meredith was back a few minutes later with a bag.
"I brought you some peanut butter cupcakes."
"She doesn't even look at me. Lexie, what's wrong?"
"Meredith, It's not a big deal. Maybe she's not hungry or she can't eat because she is stressed about Mark."
"Lexie is a stress eater. After the shooting and before a really important surgery, she ate everything she saw".
"Meredith, lets give her some time, maybe she just need to be alone".
"No, she- ok, I will give her space".
After Amelia left Lexie's room, Meredith couldn't leave her sister.
She brought her the peanut butter cupcakes.
"Are you just gonna stare at them or you wanna eat them?"
"OK but you are gonna pay me back".
Two days Later
"Owen, I have an idea! Can you move Lexie to Cristina's room?"
"Meredith, what are you trying to do?"
"They both don't talk. Maybe if we put them in the same room they would talk to each other."
"I don't know if we should do it, Meredith"
"We have to try..."
"Ok. Go get her".
Cristina's room
Cristina and Lexie just started at each other.
I'm gonna be right back
she knows it won't help

"Has someone seen Cristina's shoe?"
"She threw it on me earlier so I took it." ,the nurse answered her
i just lost my shoe!
Hearing this, Lexie started screaming.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" , Cristina was yelling at her
"Where is Cristina's shoe? We have to find it!"
Lexie jumped out of bed. The nurses were so shocked that they forgot that Lexie is still healing.
"Dr. Grey, calm down!"
"What the hell is going on here???". Owen heard the screaming and rushed up to his wife's room.
"I don't know! She just kept screaming and Cristina was yelling at her to shut up and then-"
"Just take Lexie back to her room please".
At the hallway
"Amelia, do you think she can recover? Look at her! She doesn't want to eat and to drink. Lexie is the happy one. She has her moments, but she is optimistic and cheerful. I have never seen her like this. Well, except after the shooting but this is even worst. She has those sad puppy eyes that are almost killing me, she barely talk or look at me and when she does, she looks like she wants to die. I can't take this anymore. My sister and my best friend don't talk to anyone, Mark is in coma and I don't know what to do. I am not gonna admit Lexie and Cristina to the psych ward. Lexie told me it was awful."
"Meredith, you are keeping her at this hospital for no reason. If you want her to recover, you have to let her be home, with her niece. You know they really miss each other and she needs a break from this hospital, the hospital remains her Mark and that she can't work".
"At least at the hospital she has her friends".
"She has her friends all the time and she doesn't speak to them. She needs to be home and feel safe. As long as she's at this hospital she will not be able to recover".
"Are you saying I'm a bad sister?"
"No, Meredith. I am saying you have to trust me".
At Lexie's room
"Hey Lexie. I know you are going to be fine, and so is Mark, but if you want Mark to be fine, you need to take care of yourself. We don't know each other really well, but I really like you, so please just talk to me. Zola misses you. Yesterday, she saw a picture of you, pointed at you and howled ahh ahhh. "
There was a moment of silence.
"When you woke up, you didn't ask for Mark. Why?"
Lexie didn't respond so Amelia continued to speak.
"Maybe because you knew he wasn't good. How? Lexie, please".
Lexie just looked at Amelia and opened her mouth.
"I could hear everything. I heard Mark and Meredith crying and I was trying to tell them I was alive but I just couldn't. I heard Cristina saying that Mark was having Cardiac Tamponade. I was so scared and then I heard him screaming out of pain. I felt like my heart has been ripped out my chest and I couldn't breathe."
Lexie started to cry loudly. After seeing Mark, it all came back to her. She hoped it wasn't that bad like she thought it was but when she saw him, she realized how bad Mark was.
"Hey, I'm here for you". She came closer to Lexie and hugged her.
"Please don't tell Meredith about this. She is still can't forgive herself for leaving me there. If she knew about this, she would never be able to forgive herself."
"I promise. I won't tell her that."
Amelia didn't say anything and just hugged her.
Amelia started to laugh.
"What?"
"I'm sorry, this is inappropriate."
"Please tell me. I have to laugh."
"If Marj was here, he would have said something dirty, and make this sounds funny".
Lexie was silent for a moment, what made Amelia think that maybe it was too inappropriate but then she started to laugh loudly.
"Oh god, you are right. He would have said 'Come on Lex, I can help you relax' ".
"I think we are going to get along pretty well"
"I think we do"
"You have to get better. It is gonna be a long journey but I know you can do this. Lexie, you are an amazing girl. Mark is lucky to have you. I can help you and you have Zola, Meredith and Derek".
From that moment, Lexie decided to try and fight to recover. For mark. She even asked Callie to bring Sofia over. She really wanted to get to know the little girl. She has Mark's smile. Every time Sofia was smiling or laughing, Lexie felt like her heart is going to come out of her chest.
Sometimes Meredith brought Zola over to see her aunt. Lexie was bored at the hospital and her niece and soon to be her step daughter were the best way to spend the time.
"Hello to my two favorite girls"
Lexie took the girls to her arms and hugged them.
"I love you too, Lexie" said Meredith
"Shut up. Can you blame me? Look at these two."
"You have two minutes and than I have to go".
"What? I'm stuck in this stupid hospital bed, while Mark is in ICU, and you are taking away the only hope I have left? unfair!"
Meredith started to laugh. "I promise I"ll bring them here again as soon we as I can. And Lexie…"
"What?"
"I'm so proud of you".
Lexie gave her sister a big grin.
"Lexie, I think it's the time"
"Time for what?"
"For you finally go home"
"I have only a one thing to do".
At Cristina's room
"Hey Cristina. I know it's hard. Everything reminds you the woods.Thank you for saving Mark. You were really brave. I'm not mad at you for thinking I'm dead. Actually, I thought I was dead too. When I was trapped by the wing of the plane I felt like I couldn't breathe, but you, you did it all. We are all alive thanks to you. I don't know another surgeon that could operate on a heart in the middle of the woods.. I know that getting back to work will remind you Mark's surgery in the woods, but you know what else this will remind you? How great you are. You are so talented, Cristina. You are going to do amazing things and save millions of people, but for that you have to want to fight. Fight for your patients, for Meredith, for Owen or killing him if you want to. Fight for me, Cristina".
"Please call Meredith"
At Lexie's room
"She's definitely ready to go home. Lexie, you have to use the wheelchair."
"What?? but I just walked on my own!"
"Lexie, your bones are still healing, and we both know very well how good are you at breaking bones", said callie while laughing loudly.
"What are you laughing about?"
"Nothing!" Lexie said while rolling her eyes.
Callie's pager went off.
"Dam it! Meredith, Arizona has her prosthetic training in half an hour. Can you pick her up?"
"Well of course, I'll just drop off Lexie at home first and-"
"No! I can come with you! Arizona can't late for the meeting."
"Are you sure?"
"YES"
"OK..."
At Callie and Arizona's apartment
"What are you two doing here?"
Arizona was surprised to see Meredith and Lexie instead of Callie.
"Callie got a page. We are picking you up."
"Whatever, can we just go and get over with this?"
They got out of the house. Lexie was staring at Mark's door.
"Lexie are you coming?"
"Yea-Yeah I'm coming!"
"Wait, we don't have any diapers left and we need to bring some to day care. Lexie, can you please get some from Mark's apartment?"
"I have some-"
"Shut up Meredith"
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, I can bring some".
Lexie really missed Mark's apartment. So many memories.
Lexie was thankful to Arizona. They all knew that Arizona didn't need those diapers. She wanted Lexie to feel better. Meredith, Derek, Arizona, Cristina and Arizona got close after the plane crash.
Near Mark's room
"No Owen! I'm not gonna kill Mark!"
"Callie, you are a doctor and you know Mark isn't gonna make it".
"I'm not signing this!"
"Callie, it's time to let go".
"I'm not giving up on him!"
"He sighed a DNR. You have no choice".
"What are you talking about?"
"You didn't know?"
"Do I look like I did?"
"When Mark will coding, and you know he will, soon, you are gonna have to let him go. This is what he wants and you have to respect that".
"He wants to see Sofia grow up, to have a family with Lexie. I am his best friend. I know what he wants!"
"Callie-"
"Get out of here!!!!! Now!!!!!" She screamed.
At Mark's apartment
"God I missed this place so much"
Lexie went bring the diapers.
But then, she saw Mark's bedroom, their old bedroom.
She came in the room. It was pretty hard with the wheelchair.
When they were together, Lexie used to wear his clothes. There was something about his clothes that made her feel closer to him. The clothes still smelled like him, and Lexie really missed that smell. When she saw him at the hospital, he didn't smell like her Mark.
She found his perfume and put it on. She loved that smell. When they were together, Lexie hated that smell. She told him all the time to buy another perfume, but Mark loved it so she stopped at some point. But now, it was her favourite smell.
"Lexie, are you coming?"
"Yes!", she responded.
Lexie got up from wheelchair to take one of Mark's jackets but when she tried to sit back, she fall.
Meredith rushed up to her sister.
"Lexie!"
"I tried to sit back. It really hurts."
"You are coming with me the hospital!"
"I am fine!"
"Lexie!"
"Ok..." , Lexie rolled her eyes
At the hospital
"I just heard! What the hell happened? How is Lexie?".
"I'm right here, Derek. I'm not a baby, you can ask me how I feel".
Meredith smiled and looked at her sister.
"She fall but she is fine. We are waiting for the discharge papers."
"Did she got hurt?"
"I'm still here".
Suddenly, Derek's pager went off.
Derek didn't have to say anything. Lexie saw it- his eyes , his face. She realized it immediately.
"This is Mark, isn't it?"
Derek didn't say anything and rushed out of the room.
Lexie was about to get up but Meredith stopped her.
"Leave me alone!!! I wanna go see him now!" Lexie was crying now and tried to fight Meredith.
"If you will go to see him now, you are gonna hurt yourself. He needs you to be healthy and to recover like you want him to recover. If you get hurt now, you won't be able so see him awake!"
Lexie finally stoped fighting.
"But Meredith, what if he is dead? I can't live without him."
Mark's room
"What happened?"
"Get her out of here!" Owen demanded
"Charge to 200. Clear!
"He is gone torres"
"You are breaking the law, Torres!", He tried again
"Charge to 250. Clear"
"Technically, she is his family now. So we didn't do anything wrong" ,Richard told them.
"Owen, you know this is what Mark wants. Please." , Derek said.
"Come on, Mark"
"Charge to 300. Clear."
