My New Sister

My Birth Parents Chapter 2

Note: One half of this chapter is from Molly's perspective and the other half is from the perspective of her birth sister Patricia. In Holiday Memories Molly turns 11 and Patricia is four years younger than her making her 8 years old. Molly's birth family was co-created by Manadlicious and myself. We do not own any Annie characters.

Part 1 Patricia's Perspective

Mommy and Daddy sat me down today and told me I have a sister. She was adopted before I was born so that's why I haven't met her up until now. I am so mad they put her up for adoption before I was born. It's so lonely being by myself and having nobody to talk to. If Molly had been around my whole life we would have so many good times. I am even more mad Mommy and Daddy waited so long to tell me that I have a sister. I ran out of the living room and up to my room Daddy followed me..

"Princess, I'm sorry you're so upset about this."

"Why did you never tell me before that I have a sister?" I whispered angrily.

"We wanted to wait until you were a bit older to tell you sweetheart. Last year I don't think you'd have understood the reason why we put Molly up for adoption."

"Does she even understand the reason?"

"We hope so but we're not sure."

We sat in silence for about 5 minutes.

"Mr. and Mrs. Warbucks invited us of for dessert on Thanksgiving. Do you want to at least meet Molly? She's a sweet girl you know."

I shrugged. "I guess it couldn't hurt just to meet her. It's going to be hard to get used to having a sister though."

"That's my girl. I love you Tricia."

I snuggled up against my father tightly. "I love you too Daddy."

Part II Molly's Perspective

Thanksgiving just ended. We had a great day with our family and friends. Mama told me that Mommy and Daddy were coming over for dessert with a surprise for me. I was curious to see what it was since Christmas was more than a month away. As it turns out I have a younger sister. I don't know why Mommy and Daddy didn't tell me about her sooner. Mama didn't look all that happy that they decided to bring her unexpectedly. My sister's name is Tricia and she's 8… only three years younger than me and in 3rd grade. Mama was surprised at how much Tricia looks like me.. the only real difference is that my hair is curly and her hair is straight. We played games with Annie and the rest of our cousins. I think she was little shy around everyone else because our big family is so new to her.

After everyone went home and I finished getting ready for bed I heard a tap at my door. It was Mama.

" Molly, sweetheart can we talk?"

I nodded and Mama took a seat on the edge of my bed. I slid out from under the covers and curled up in her lap. She wrapped her arms around me tightly, brushed my bangs out of my eyes and softly kissed my forehead.

"Sweetheart are you alright?"

I started to cry.

"I just can't believe I've had a whole other family all this time.. it's so hard for me to get used to."

"Baby girl, I know this hasn't been easy for you deal with. When your mother called me on the phone and told me they were going to bring Patricia over I was advising her against it because I wasn't sure how comfortable you'd feel with meeting her."

"Meeting her was no problem for me. I just feel shocked by all of this. I feel like they don't love me in the same way you guys do."

Mama took my face in her hands and traced my tears away with her fingers.

"Darling, please don't ever feel that way. Just because you are adopted does not mean your father Annie and I love you any less then your birth family does. Hopefully you'll be able to open yourself up to loving your mother father and Tricia too."

"I had fun with Tricia today Mama. Annie really likes her too. I think we're going to have a great time getting to know her."

"Would you like to see Tricia again soon?"

I nodded. "Yes, I would. It might be good to wait until after Christmas though."

Mama nodded. She rocked me back and forth for a few more minutes. I crawled out of her lap and back under the covers.

"Good night Mama. I love you."

Mama tucked me in and kissed my forehead again.

"You're everything to me. Never ever forget how much I love you my precious Molly Jane."

Mama stood up and closed the light and left my room.

I smiled to myself. 'I can't wait to see Tricia again.' I thought to myself.

Part III Patricia's Perspective

Thanksgiving was nerve wracking. We had dinner at home but then left for the Warbucks mansion around 5:15 to go over there for dessert.

Mama could sense I was scared.

"Tricia sweetheart you really have nothing to be nervous about."

"What if Molly doesn't like me?"

" I think you two will get along splendidly."

I was silent for the rest of the car ride.

When we got to Molly's house we saw three girls playing in the back yard. One had curly red hair and the other two had brown hair.

"Hi! I'm Annie. These are my cousins Margaret and Kathryn. You must be Tricia."

I nodded.

"Sweetheart, you shouldn't be shy. This is your family you know." Daddy whispered.

"Hi.: I whispered.

"Come on inside. Molly can't wait to meet you. My mom has told us so much about you."

Annie and the other two girls led us inside. Mrs. Warbucks and Molly were waiting for us in the foyer.

Mom smiled at Mrs. Warbucks. "Thanks for having us again Grace."

Mrs. Warbucks smiled but looked a little uncomfortable. " You're welcome anytime Nicole.

Daddy pushed me forward. "This is our daughter Patricia."

Mrs. Warbucks's jaw dropped. "Excuse me for saying this but she looks so much like Molly it's uncanny."

Molly looked just as shy as I did. Annie noticed this right away.

"Tricia, this is Molly. We're gonna have so much together let's go play before we have dessert."

Molly smiled at me nervously. "Hi." she whispered.

"Hi." I replied.

Annie took Molly and I by the hand and led us upstairs. Kathryn and Margaret were close behind.

Later that night as I was getting ready for bed Mommy came into my room.

"Did you have fun tonight honey?"

I nodded but immediately started to cry.

"What's the matter darling?"

"I'm just so upset with you and Daddy for keeping this a secret from me."

"Did you and Molly get along?"

I nodded. "Yes, we did. I had a lot of fun playing with her and Annie and her cousins."

" What's bothering you then?"

"It's just that it's always been you Daddy and me. It's going to be hard to get used to having a sister."

"I think this will be a hard transition for the both of you but once you adjust I think you will love spending time with Molly and her family."

"Do you love her as much as you love me?"

Mommy nodded. "We love both of you very much. It was very hard for us to give Molly up for adoption 11 years ago but both of you have to understand that at time finances were not in our favor. We couldn't start a family."

"Couldn't you have searched for her sooner?"

"We didn't know where to start looking for her or if she was even at the same orphanage we dropped her off at. "

I like Mr. and Mr. Warbucks Mommy they seem like nice people."

Mommy nodded. "Grace and Oliver are very nice people we couldn't be happier that Molly ended up in such a loving home."

"When can we see Molly again Mommy?"

Mommy kissed me on the forehead. "Soon hopefully my darling."

I kissed Mommy on the cheek.

"Good night Mommy. I love you."

"I love you to the moon and back Patricia Catherine."

Mommy kissed me good night shut the light off and closed the door behind her.
