How to keep a third

The peace lasted less than a week. Shizuo booked his flight with Izaya and his family, travelling back to Ikebukuro. He left them at the station. If he was dragged back to Izaya's home, then he'd never leave.

So he went back to his apartment, cleaned up and unpacked his stuff. He'd brought a printer on his way home. It now sat on his bed, with the first of many SD cards, spitting out photographs.

Thankfully he hadn't had anything in his cupboards when he'd left. And then he'd had to pick up his packages from the PO Box. There was a lot. With a sigh he tossed everything in the rental he'd gotten and lugged it all into his apartment.

He should've just left it to charity. It had been stupid. A frequent stupid thought that made him sentimental, made him crave what he could never have. Or admit.

But it was as he was tossing the last couple of boxes, that he had a visitor. Mikado. Of course it would be. "Need any help?"

"No. Does your husband know where you are?" Shizuo tossed the boxes inside and hoped Mikado wouldn't want to come inside.

"He knows." Mikado pushed his way inside, clearly curious at the amount of parcels, but more interested in leading him to the bedroom.

Shizuo sighed, moving the printer before it got damaged. Then he was being pushed onto the bed, Mikado kissing and biting at his lips. "Izaya says you need to consent."

Shizuo snorted. "Do as you want."

But as Mikado started to do that, Shizuo put his hand to the man's chest. "Shizuo?"

"You need to go." He grumbled feeling sick. There hadn't been any issues before. "Just go, please."

Mikado stared at him. Shizuo flinched under the small touch to his cheek. "Yeah, okay." Then Mikado was gone to see himself out and Shizuo flopped back on the pillows wondering what the fuck was wrong with him.

Mikado cried. He was still crying when he got back to his husband. "Our third doesn't want me." He sniffed setting the box he'd taken down and throwing himself into his husband's arms.

"I warned you to take it slow."

"I did. I asked for consent and everything."

"You rushed over there." Izaya explained. "Shizu-chan has been awol for a decade."

"I suppose." Mikado sniffled.

"What's in the box?" Izaya asked once he'd backed away.

"I don't know. I took it from Shizuo's apartment."

"Mikado."

Mikado was already exploring the box, discovering the Italian post marks. Before Izaya could tell him no, he opened the box and took out a creepy wooden doll painted red. There were two of them. Then there were the two felt dolls. He'd made Izaya curious handing the creepy doll over.

"What is this?" He asked.

Izaya was already searching on his phone. "It's a traditional Italian toy. They all are."

"Why is everything wood?" Mikado grumbled. He picked up what looked like a totem and a small hammer.

"Dada, papa!" Eri ran into the room stopping as she saw the strange toys. "Akane!" Her twin came running and the duo rummaged in the box taking out toys they thought were for them. "Cool, what are these?"

"They're from Italy." Izaya said offering no explanation. But his husband looked thoughtful and that was a good thing. Maybe.

He watched as they started making piles, one of each toy. Had Shizuo done it for every place he'd visited? There had been a lot of boxes.

"Did it get lost in the post?" Akane asked eyeing the box. "This is old." She tore off the piece of paper and opened it. "These are from Shizuo-san."

Eri picked out one of the games and showed him the box. There was only one copy. "What does this say?"

"Scopa." Izaya said. "I'm going out for a bit."

"To see Shizuo-san?" Akane asked. "Tell him thank you."

Izaya paused and nodded after squeezing their daughters.

"Dada, how do I play this?" Eri asked.

The printer was on the dresser. Shizuo collected the photos and set them to one side, replacing the SD card. He'd brought six albums and that wasn't going to be enough.

Setting the photos to print, he got started on the boxes. He might've gone overboard. Thankfully the spare room was empty, gutted because he hadn't wanted another bed in there. Hadn't wanted to give anyone the option to stay. So that's where the boxes were going. He set each one down against the wall without looking at it.

By the time he was done, he had built a wall of boxes. But it wasn't just a wall. He'd gone around all four walls. "Fuck. There was still left over boxes sitting in the middle of the room. Shizuo groaned, closed the door and swore to get a lock sorted.

Pushing the room from his mind, he sat in his own bedroom. Quietly sliding photos into wallets. There wasn't a single photo of him. It hadn't been that kind of journey. There was landscapes, tourist attractions and desserts. He'd had so many sweet treats around the world. Shizuo labelled the album by country and then opened a new one, waiting for the photos to print.

The jet lag was already settling in. Shizuo smothered a yawn, ready to take a long nap, when the doorbell rang. With a groan he pushed off the bed and opened it. Izaya, of course it was.

"Hey, Shizu-chan."

"This gonna take long?" Shizuo asked through another yawn.

"Jet lag?" Izaya asked. "Still?"

Shizuo shrugged. "I haven't been sleeping properly. It usually takes a month to settle."

"You'd know best. All unpacked?"

"Yeah." Shizuo mumbled heading back to the bedroom. The album was open on his bed, the printer continued expelling the photos.

Izaya picked up the album and flicked through. "You're starting chronologically?"

"No. Just whichever card I pick out."

"There's none of you." Izaya stared at him and frowned. "Have you eaten?"

"Not yet."

"I'm ordering then." Izaya was on his phone tapping away.

"Why don't you take a nap and I'll wake you when the food gets here?"

Shizuo wasn't saying no to that. Moving the albums to the floor, he curled up on the bed and went to sleep.

Shizuo was out in moments, leaving Izaya to his own devices. It was either a sign of trust or exhaustion, maybe a mix of the two. Izaya sat flicking through Shizuo's photography and then he went wandering. Shizuo's apartment had a spare room. He'd expected a bed or some semblance of a guest room. Maybe for Kasuka.

Instead there were boxes. From floor to ceiling, all the way around the room, with the remaining ones on the floor. They all had airmail marks from various countries. He had a feeling they were all the same.

With a sigh he slashed one of the remaining boxes open with the Chinese postmarks. Sure enough, there were toys. Traditional toys, two of each. Clearly for their daughters. So why hadn't Shizuo had them sent to them? Why to a storage unit?

Mikado knew about the boxes, so it would be brought up sooner or later. Izaya switched the boxes around so the opened one was hidden. Then he went back to the bedroom to check on Shizuo.

As promised, Izaya woke him as soon as the food arrived.

Shizuo was in love with Izaya. If he admitted it, then he'd likely be taken as their third. So he kept his mouth shut and locked his thoughts and feelings away, just as easily as those boxes.

He kept his distance eating quickly with his chopsticks. The quicker he was done, the quicker he could send Izaya away and he could go back to sleep.

"So what now?" Izaya asked taking his time.

"Huh?" Shizuo swallowed and asked.

"Now that you're back home. You said you agreed a decade with your brother."

"Oh. Uh, I'm going to take some time to think things through." Shizuo shrugged. Long enough for his passport photo to be updated and then he could go again. He'd hadn't agreed on staying in Japan. Besides, a lot changed in a decade. New buildings, new attractions, new dessert recipes and new toys. Although he supposed the girls would've grown out of them now.

He'd have to hire someone to empty the boxes out and give them to charity, or dispose of them. The thought of doing it himself was distressing.

"You're staying in your apartment?"

"No. Staying indoors all the time isn't healthy." Shizuo went back to eating. He'd picked up so many different techniques on his travels. So many new favourite foods and not all of them were dessert.

"Neither is wandering around aimlessly." Izaya commented.

"I'm going to see Celty, she's not going to be happy with me." Shizuo sighed. And if he ran into Masaomi, well nothing would happen.

"That's an understatement."

"Yeah, I know." Shizuo finished his last mouthful, dropping the sticks back in the carton and the carton in the bin. "I'm done. Make yourself coffee or whatever. I'm going to crash."

Thankfully he did just that.

On his visit to Celty, he did catch sight of Masaomi and his daughter. He didn't know whether they saw him or not, but he kept walking. Once back to his apartment, he packed his new backpack, making sure he had everything on him and left the apartment. Locking up, he picked a direction and walked.

He got on a train, sat down and closed his eyes. When he woke up he'd have his next destination. He was on the Marunouchi line, destination Ogikibo and then he kept going through to Tokyo, where he was one speck in an overly bustling city. No one cared who he was, no one knew who he was. He was free. Shizuo smiled as he put his metro pass away and headed straight for the nearest estate agent.

He went straight to work. Within the first two weeks he had passed an interview and was working picking and packing boxes. It gave him something to do and there was no one around that wanted to speak to him. His neighbour was nice but again nothing to worry about.

He had yet to let Kasuka know where he was. He didn't think his brother would be too happy but he was still in Japan. He hadn't broken their agreement. Yet.

It wasn't Mikado or Izaya that tracked him down. Shizuo opened his apartment door thinking it was his neighbour. Two school girls stood in front of his door. One looked slightly sheepish, the other smug.

Shizuo groaned. "Do your parents know you're here?"

"You know." Akane smirked looking so much like her father.

Shizuo sighed stepping back to let them in. "How did you even get here?"

"The trains." Akane sat down at his kotatsu, making herself at home. Eri was more hesitant. Shizuo sighed ushering her to join her sister, whilst he closed the door and hoped he didn't get arrested for kidnapping.

"Why are you here?"

"To talk. You're our mother."

"Dada and papa are fighting." Eri whined.

Shizuo set his phone down knowing he'd need to call Izaya to collect his daughters. "People argue all the time. Parents and married couples are no different. They disagree on something, one of them upset the other. It's common."

"It also leads to divorce." Akane grumbled.

Shizuo snorted. "Your parents won't divorce. They love each other and they're both obsessive."

"You left." Eri snapped out.

"I wasn't in the equation." Shizuo shrugged getting up to make the girls a drink. "How much have your parents told you?"

"That you're our mother." Eri said.

"And about the doctor." Akane added.

Shizuo set the glasses down. "All I have is milk."

"Why did you leave?" Eri asked hands around her glass.

"Because I couldn't stay. There was a lot of lies and manipulation in my life. Even my first boyfriend. There were so many thoughts and feelings when I was taking that medication." Shizuo sighed. "Then I was free and taking another medication to reverse the effects of the first ones. Everything I thought I felt vanished. It didn't mean a thing. Ikebukuro is where I lived, it's where everything was. It's a reminder. I can't stay there."

"So you're staying here instead?" Akane frowned.

"For now. I agreed with my brother to come back."

"But you want to know us, right?" Eri reached into her pocket and set a wooden toy with a hammer down. "We want to know you."

Shizuo took the small hammer. "Italy?" He asked. The girls nodded. "Alright. It's getting too dark to send you home, let me text your father."

{Twins are with with me. Too late to send them back. Will have them contact you tomorrow. Shizuo.}

Shizuo unwrapped the toy and set it on the surface. He took the hammer and quickly knocked one of the blocks out. "Your turn. You have to knock the blocks out without the top falling off."

"Thank you, for the toys." Eri said taking the hammer.

Shizuo nodded. Izaya and Mikado had gone through his things. "Why Italy?"

Akane frowned. "There was more?"

Shizuo blinked. "You weren't at the apartment?"

Eri grinned. "Nope. We were at home when dada brought the box home. There's more?"

Shizuo felt his face heat. "…yeah."

The girls scrambled to hug him. Shizuo awkwardly hugged them back.

He left them at Ikebukuro train station, jumping on the next one to take him back home. The girls had managed to wrangle a promise from him. Every weekend, he would return to his apartment in Ikebukuro, where the girls would stay and they would open one of the many boxes.

Shizuo had added a condition of his own. Should Izaya or Mikado find out, then he'd leave. They'd promised, so he'd promised. It was just a case of how long the promise would last. Izaya and Mikado would find out eventually.

Izaya watched his daughters shush one another right before he stepped into their room. They were packing an overnight bag and looking excited. They'd also packed one of the toys Shizuo had gotten them. Thankfully it was the less of the creepy ones. "What's going on here?"

"Sleepover." Akane shrugged.

"And who agreed that?" Izaya raised a brow and crossed his arms.

"We did." Eri grinned. "We'll be back after school, Monday."

"You think you're going somewhere the whole weekend?"

"Yes. There will be adult supervision and we'll be in Ikebukuro." Akane said. "Promise."

"A friend from school? No one you've met online?"

"We'll be fine papa." Eri smiled. "But if you say no, we'll hate you both and we'll never talk to you again."

Izaya sighed. "No boys and you keep your phones with you and charged."

Both their faces lit up and they squeezed him. "Papa. No following us please."

Izaya frowned. "…alright."

Shizuo had given them a key. So when he walked in, he found them already making themselves at home and waiting with a mug of hot chocolate. He smiled at the greeting and led the girls through to the box room. They giggled and stared mouths open.

"Wow." Akane murmured.

"This is so cool." Eri grinned. "These are for us?"

Shizuo paused. There was no need to keep it a secret anymore. "Yeah. Every box contains toys from a country I visited. So I guess pick a box."

They picked one of the boxes that had been left over. China. Shizuo set down his cocoa, returning with cushions for the three of them to sit. Akane had already opened the box, but it wasn't his responsibility to check if she had a knife.

"Kites?" Eri asked. "It's ugly."

"China likes their dragons." Shizuo shrugged.

"What are these?" Akane asked. "Chinese checkers? A doll?"

"She's pretty." Eri commented.

"Dragon boat?" Akane flipped the little drum. "Puzzles?"

"China is weird." Eri said.

"Less creepy than the gnome toys." Akane argued.

The girls crashed with him, sleeping either side of him. He cooked for them and then they spent the weekend in and out of the game room. When it was time to go, they hugged him and he watched them go. Locking the apartment he went in the other direction heading back home.

"You seen this before?" Mikado asked tossing Izaya the wooden box in his hand.

"Where did it come from?" Izaya asked turning the thing over. "Looks like a Chinese puzzle box."

"So there's something inside it?" Mikado murmured watching as Izaya prodded the wood.

"Dada, papa!" Eri called before the rushed footsteps. "Akane-No! That's mine!" Eri lunged and knocked the box from Izaya's hand.

"Yours?" Mikado frowned.

"Yep." Eri snatched the box up. "It's private. Like my diary."

"Where did you get it from?" Mikado asked.

"What did you sister do?" Izaya asked over him.

"She broke my favourite mug." Eri whined.

Mikado sighed. "Akane!" He called. A second set of footsteps and then their other daughter was standing staring at Eri's hand.

"Yes dada?"

"Why did you break your sister's mug?"

Akane visibly relaxed. "It was an accident."

"Liar!" Eri whined and pointed accusingly.

"Stop with the arguing or you're both grounded." Izaya cut them off. Both girls went silent.

Mikado was suspicious. They'd never caved to being grounded before. Both of them had no problem keeping themselves occupied.

"Sorry Eri." Akane took her sister's hand.

"It's okay." Eri mumbled and the two left the room.

Mikado looked to his husband. "What was that about?"

Izaya didn't like Masaomi. They usually ignored and avoided one another. Except today was apparently an exception and the blond was beelining for him.

"I thought Shizuo was travelling." Masaomi scowled.

"He is." Izaya shrugged.

"Then why are your daughters hanging around his apartment and why do they have a key?"

"Because they are Shizu-chan's daughters and he left them presents from his travels. None of which has anything to do with you."

Izaya made a point to keep an eye on Shizuo's ex. It was Sunday. His daughters were on their sleepover as had become a typical habit.

Monday morning Izaya stood with Shizuo's apartment in view. Mikado was still trying to search his way through Japan, but Shizuo had picked up some tricks. Checking the time he watched as the door opened and his daughters bounced out, already dressed for school. Then Shizuo stepped out wearing a suit. Shizuo locked up and both girls hugged him. Then they went their separate ways. Izaya went back home without saying a word.

His daughters had managed what he and Mikado hadn't. They'd kept Shizuo with them. Knowing where they'd been every weekend was a relief. But none of them had said a thing and judging by how his daughters had reacted, the meet-ups were conditional. He and Mikado weren't supposed to know. As soon as they did, Shizuo had probably told them he'd leave.

"No." Izaya heard Akane snap. "Definitely not."

"Why not? He's our mother." Eri hissed. "I want to get him something."

"No! We break the promise and we won't see him again." Akane raised her voice.

"He never said anything about us not calling him mother." Eri snipped just as stubborn.

"That's unspoken. He doesn't like reminders. You know that. Eri, please. Let's not chase him away."

Izaya leaned against the wall hearing his daughter sniffle.

"Look, Eri. Mother's Day is on Sunday. We'll be with him anyway. We can get him a hot chocolate and something sweet, we can cook him breakfast, even add carnations to the apartment. As long as you don't mention mother." Akane explained.

"We still haven't said thank you properly for the toys. We can use that as an excuse!" Eri almost shouted hyper.

"Yeah, we can."

"Dada!" Eri grinned running into the room and held out her hand. "Allowance please."

Mikado stared at her. "You're two weeks early."

"But I need it now!" Eri whined.

"No. If you need anything, you can-"

"No!" Eri shrieked.

"What's going on?" Izaya asked walking in with his laptop.

"Our daughter wants her allowance early."

"Okay. Why?" Izaya asked.

Eri opened her mouth and panicked. "Because we wanted to get a present." Akane said.

"Hm, okay then. We can't give you your allowance early, but why don't we give you a test instead?"

Akane frowned. "A test?" She looked confused. So was he. What was his husband up to?

Izaya pulled his wallet from his pocket and took out one of his credit cards. "You get to use this once. The results of the test will determine any future allowance decisions."

Akane stared at the card. "Any amount?"

"Up to you both." Izaya handed over the card.

"Cool. Thanks papa." The girls kissed Izaya's cheek and ran off.

Mikado scowled. "What happened to the rules?"

"I'm testing their level of responsibility." Izaya shrugged.

Shizuo woke up on Sunday to find the girls snickering and giggling as they cooked smiley face pancakes he guessed were supposed to be an omelette of some kind. There were red flowers on either side of the bed. Shizuo frowned getting up.

The girls groaned when they saw him coming. "You're supposed to be in bed." Eri whined.

Shizuo put his hands up. "I can go back to bed." So he went and minutes later Akane carried in a tray of pancakes and syrup, whilst Eri carried a mug of cocoa.

"Thank you." Shizuo smiled as the girls clambered onto the bed beside him. "I like the flowers."

Both girls grinned. Shizuo bit into the pancake or omelette, he tried not to wince at the crunch. "So what are we playing today?"

"We want to do a jigsaw puzzle and get a table for the games room."

Shizuo frowned but swallowed down another mouthful. The syrup helped. "Then I guess we're going shopping."

They went shopping. He didn't want to drag the girls out of Ikebukuro, so he put up with it. Going hand in hand to the large shopping mall that hadn't been there a decade ago.

There was a lot of red flowers around and gifts in the front windows. Shizuo let the girls lead him. They brought chocolate and snacks, they brought jigsaw puzzles and they brought a folding table. Since he could no longer hold one of the girls' hands, Eri sat atop his shoulders, with his camera in her hands.

"It's so high up here!" Eri squealed.

Shizuo laughed and Akane complained about it being her time. They spent the whole day outside, then the girls grabbed takeaway and treats from the bakery for dinner.

By the time the girls had showered and gotten ready for bed, Shizuo had put the table up for next time. With a smile he climbed into the bed and they snuggled into his side. But just before he slipped to sleep, he heard Eri whisper in his ear.

"Happy Mother's Day mom. We love you."

"You idiot!" Akane screeched. Izaya heard a thud as the girls crashed into the floor. "I told you not to say it! What are we going to do if he disappears?"

"I couldn't help it! Akane, it just slipped out. I thought he was sleeping." Eri whined.

"You ruined everything! Why couldn't you keep your mouth shut? Now mom is gonna go away again!"

Izaya sighed and pushed open the door. "You shouldn't be fighting and anyway Shizu-chan doesn't handle emotional things well. Give him time. You surprised him."

Akane and Eri looked horrified, scrambling from the floor. "What? No. We weren't-"

"I know." Izaya sighed.

Akane frowned. "No. You- you gave us your card. You didn't complain about the sleepovers. The promise was already broken."

Eri started to cry.

"Calm down, Shizu-chan won't abandon you. He'll be there to meet you as promised."

The girls nodded and ran to him.

"You made our daughters cry."

Not exactly what he expected to hear opening the door and finding Izaya there. Shizuo frowned. "I didn't say anything."

"You didn't have to." Izaya sighed and Shizuo let him in. "They think you'll disappear."

"I won't. It was just a surprise."

"Sunday was Mother's Day."

Shizuo froze and slowly blinked. "Oh. That explains…yeah. I'm no good at this stuff. I didn't think they'd see me like that."

"They were sneaking around to see you. With their last allowance, they brought toy boxes with locks. They care."

Shizuo sighed moving to the bedroom and sitting on the edge of the bed. "I've been thinking. I want to go back to my old medication."

"No."

"Hear me out."

"No."

"Izaya, listen. I can't do this. I can't keep running away from my problems and I can't stay out of Ikebukuro. The girls are there, you're there. I can't trust a therapist. If I stay as I am, I'll be travelling again as soon as my passport clears."

"So I want to go back to the island, have the tests done to clear I'm sane of mind and then I want to go back to the old meds."

Izaya sat next to him head in his hands. "I can't let you do that, Shizu-chan."

Shizuo nodded. He'd known that, he'd known how stubborn Izaya would be about the whole thing. "I told you I didn't feel a thing about Masaomi. I love you and I love the girls. I liked when Eri called me mom."

Izaya watched him closely. "What about Mikado?"

"I don't know. He's intense. But he's also one of the biggest reminders. I want you to do it." Shizuo breathed. "I want you to make it right. Not a doctor, not Mikado. You. There's other stuff too, whether we'd want any more kids or y'know. But-"

Izaya kissed him. Shizuo toppled back against the covers. He kissed Izaya back just as fiercely. "I want to be able to do this. Please Izaya."

Izaya laughed and pressed their foreheads together. "Damn it."

"Where are you going?" Eri whined as he packed. Izaya had been hoping to speak to Mikado first. "Did we do something wrong? Papa, don't leave!"

"Do you want a little brother or sister?"

Eri blinked. "Uh what?"

"A little sibling. Is that something you'd want?"

"Uh, I didn't think it was possible. But I- Akane!"

"What?"

"Papa wants to know if we want a sibling!" Eri called out.

"No!" Akane came running. "Is this about mom?"

"Yes, but I'd rather talk to your father first."

"Are we getting a divorce?" Mikado asked seeing the suitcase on the bed.

"No. Would you want another child?"

"We only have one third." Mikado grumbled.

"I know. Shizu-chan has been having sleepovers with the girls. He wants to go back onto his old meds. He wants to know if we'd want another child."

Mikado felt his heart twist. "Yes. I see Eri with Shizuo's eyes, Akane with yours and I dream of one with my eyes."

"Then you need to look after the girls, whilst I take care of Shizu-chan." Izaya said. "We're going back to the island for tests. Once he's cleared he'll be put back on his old meds. "We're going to need a bigger place."

"Leave it to me." Mikado frowned. "The girls- your card. Seriously?"

"You should thank them." Izaya kissed him. "Shizu-chan cares but right now you're the biggest reminder of what he went through. When we return, he'll be our third. Permanently."

Mikado nodded. "Right. Go make it so."

Shizuo closed his eyes and took a slow deep breath. "Shizu-chan." Opening his eyes he stared down at Izaya's handwriting. "Read it."

So he did. A draft copy of what would control him for the rest of his life. "There's nothing here."

"Yeah. That's right. You can make your own decisions Shizu-chan. We'll put the psychological trauma to rest, after that your choices are your own."

Shizuo stared at the page and then he nodded. "Let's do it."

Nothing was truly ever gone. His uterus had simply been waiting and frozen in time ready for when he changed his mind. The experts had assured him he would. Now his tubes were untied. The breast tissue was still there just shrunk down. It would grow again with obesity or pregnancy. There were no immediate physical differences.

It wasn't quite brain surgery, but they did jolt the part they needed to, to speed up the effects of the old medicine. The experts watched as Izaya spoke the words and he let them sink into his thoughts. When he woke up, he hoped everything would be okay.

It took close to three months, with recovery time and multiple tests. There was no change, not really. The doubts were gone, the fear was gone and when he was finally sitting back at the pool, Shizuo took Izaya's hand in his.

"This was the right choice."

"Really?" Izaya asked leaning against him.

"Yeah. It's time to go home."

"Hm, are you sure?"

Shizuo frowned seeing Izaya's hand on his knee. Izaya slipped into the pool and took him too. Then Izaya was kissing him and he was kissing back just as heated, just as needy. "Fuck."

"That's the plan." Izaya murmured hands all over him.

"In the water?" Shizuo frowned gasping as Izaya cupped his ass, hands inside his swim shorts. It felt like a shock as Izaya had no problem touching him. "That's-"

"Sensitive." Izaya smirked flicking his fingers.

Shizuo moaned backing away slowly against the edge. Izaya helped him sit back up but his shorts were gone. "I thought we were waiting."

"Mikado doesn't wait. The moment we're back he'll take what he wants." Izaya said fingers playing with his clit. "Besides, I don't want to come back here anymore."

"Then I suppose we should go to the bedroom."

"Or we could stay here." Izaya went down, mouth around his cock. Shizuo moaned hands tangling in his hair.

Shizuo held onto the headboard as Izaya pushed in. It was a tight fit for both and the condom was getting in the way. But everything was working and Izaya had already given his ass a working out. "I haven't had sex in a decade." He grumbled.

"Which is why I started gently." Izaya thrust lazily into him. "How do you feel?"

"Like you need to go harder." Shizuo grumbled.

Izaya kissed him. "Then it's time to go home."

Shizuo had never believed he would have a hallmark movie ending. They'd seemed stupid to him, but as they moved down the escalator there was a sign with his and Izaya's names and the screaming excitement of their daughters as the trio ran towards them, drawing attention to their reunion. Shizuo found he didn't care.

They were his daughters and he loved them. He held them close, kissing their foreheads and smiling at Mikado. "Izaya says you want a kid with your eyes this time."

Mikado grinned and latched onto Izaya. For now their family was complete. Mikado led them out to the SUV that would take them to their new home.

End
