Buck was stunned when he saw space through their tunnel, amazed at how beautiful the scenery was around them before they finally came into a golden dome room, revealing a large man in golden armor with his hands on a long sword in the center of the room.
"Welcome back, Lady Destiny." Heimdall told her, smirking when he saw her bright smile.
"Heimdall, have you been recovering well?" Desi asked.
"I have, however, All-Father has called you for your help." He told her.
"Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, welcome. Thank you for taking care of Lady Destiny while she is away." Heimdall told him, but Buck narrowed his eyes at him.
"Where can I find All-Father?" Desi asked.
"He'll be at the outpost outside the city, he is awaiting you there." Heimdall answered.
"Thank you, friend. Let's go, Astros." Desi said as she rubbed Astros gently, hearing him neigh before he flew off.
Buck was marveled by the view, reminding him of Wakanda; he understood now why she spoke highly of this place. She saw the familiar camp as Astros descended, and a smile appeared on her face when she saw Frigga approaching her. As soon as they landed, Buck slid off and helped her down.
"Thanks, carino." Desi whispered.
"Always, doll." Bucky whispered before he released her, mindful of the intense and hostile stares he was receiving from onlookers.
"My dear daughter, welcome back home. I cannot mean what this means to us." Frigga told her as she embraced Desi.
Desi hugged her back, feeling her motherly embrace before she released her.
"Of course, Lady Frigga, I had to once I got the call. How is Asgard recovering?" Desi asked.
"We will tend to that in a moment, why don't you introduce me to the man you brought with you?" Frigga asked as she looked over to Bucky.
Bucky looked at Desi hesitantly as Frigga approached him.
Frigga didn't touch Bucky, but she smiled nonetheless at him.
"Lady Frigga, this is Bucky Barnes, my boyfriend. Bucky, this is Lady Frigga, wife of All-Father, and the mother of Lord Thor and Loki." Desi introduced.
Frigga approached Bucky and placed her hands on his arms, keeping a respectful distance as she looked into his eyes, and he saw her eyes grow distant for a split second.
"You have suffered in the darkness, but I'm glad you found your way out by our little star." Frigga spoke, nodding her head softly towards Desi.
"I can see why my sons are threatened by you, dear boy. You'll be her biggest protector, her alpha, and you'll never lose her. You are to be her first love." Frigga said softly before releasing Bucky.
Bucky looked at Frigga in bewilderment as she looked over to Desi.
"Come, I'll bring you to my husband. Oh, and please, keep your public affections to a minimum. The people are still adjusting to the news of Thor's broken engagement." Frigga spoke as she led the way.
Bucky patted for Astros to follow as they walked behind Desi, noticing as they headed to an overly large tent with the entrance covered with guards. Desi felt her heart hurt as she heard the cries around her, their pain thick in the air as they got closer to the tent. As they approached, the guards raised their weapons at Bucky, pulling Desi back behind him protectively.
"Let him through." Frigga spoke and the weapons were immediately lowered.
"Ah, my darling. Thank you for receiving Lady Destiny for me." Desi smiled when she heard Odin but her smile quickly dropped when she saw Thor walking over to her.
"Lady Destiny, you're alright…"
Bucky's eyes narrowed at him as he pulled Desi behind him once more. Before she could register what was happening, Buck swung a punch with his metallic arm, landing in Thor's cheek. Desi gasped as Buck grabbed Thor's collar.
"You son of bitch, you were supposed to protect her!" Bucky exclaimed with fury in his eyes.
"Barnes, you don't understand-"
"I watched her almost die in my arms; I don't need to understand."
"Release him!" Odin yelled, and the guards lifted their weapons once more toward Bucky.
"Buck, don't." Desi said as she stood between them, placing a hand on Buck's cheek.
Bucky took a deep breath before releasing Thor, his eyes still glaring at Thor.
"Forgive us, All-Father." Desi said with a curtsey.
"I'll allow it this once…Why are you not wearing our armor?" Odin asked Desi, and she looked down to realize she was still wearing her outfit from her date earlier.
Thor glanced at her form and saw her pleasant form, his imagination running wild with her full breasts, her nice thighs, and her curves; with a backside to pleasantly complete her.
"Oh, my apologies." Desi said before she stood a few feet safely away from Astros and Bucky.
"Mammen." Desi whispered, holding her hand out in front of her. She waited a moment before it floated into her hand, her body flashing as she was wearing her armor. She looked back at Buck and winked at him before she approached Odin once more.
"I'm glad to see you are better, the people of Asgard were worried they had lost you; we feared we lost you." Odin spoke, but Desi still smiled politely.
"My friends on Midgard were the only reason I survived; I wouldn't be here without them." Desi spoke.
"Such modesty. I'm afraid I didn't call you this reason alone, our people need you." Odin said and Desi bowed her head.
"What have you need of me, All-Father?" Desi asked.
"Our healers can't produce medicine fast enough; people are dying while they scavenge for resources. Lady Eir was always able to heal the city, and the battlefield, within moments. We ask you to try and do the same. I, their king, ask of you." Odin spoke.
Desi took a deep breath, already feeling the emotions outside of the tent. She closed her eyes as she felt her emotions elevate but she was fighting it down, she had to stay focused.
"I can try. I've…never done a vast area before though. Is…everyone here injured in the outpost? Or are there more in the city?" Desi asked.
"Scattered throughout Asgard, I'm afraid." Odin answered.
Desi let out a deep breath and nodded.
"When you are ready, please make your way behind us; there is a safe place for you to do this. When do you wish to begin?" Odin asked her.
"I will begin now then, All-Father. Thank you." Desi said with a smile before she followed his instructions, Buck throwing Thor one last fury glare before following with Astros behind her.
Desi walked out of the tent and let out a sigh of relief when she saw they were alone.
"Are you sure you can do it?" Bucky asked her.
"I don't know unless I try, right?" Desi asked.
"It's okay if you can't." Bucky told Desi, and she smiled.
"Thanks, carino."Desi spoke.
"Carino?"
"It means darling." Desi answered.
Astros nudged his head at Buck with a loud huff and Bucky scoffed.
"Okay, fine. I'll let your ladyship work." Bucky said, taking a few steps back.
"Mammen, how did Mother Eir do it?" she asked, bringing her war-axe up.
Buck saw Desi's war-axe lit up and watched her carefully as she closed her eyes. Desi saw flashes of her mother floating up in the sky. Like her last time in group healing, she took in the emotions of others, feeling her mother embrace them as a source and her own happy memories, using those emotions to help heal others.
"That's what she meant by embracing them…" Desi whispered.
Desi took a deep breath and kept her eyes closed as she opened herself up to the motions, tying her axe to her belt so she could focus. Buck saw the white and gold mist come from the outpost and could faintly hear her humming.
Desi brought her hands up into fists as she thought of her source, what made her happy. She thought of Bucky, who in the very beginning always cared for her, their first kiss, the day he offered her his ring. She felt her feet float off the ground, but she continued to re-live them. She thought of their first date, their moment together when they met for the first time…the day she came back with her injury. He was always gentle with her but so passionate.
Desi felt a power course throughout her body, feeling her head growing warm for a moment but it disappeared as soon as it came. Buck looked around him and watched as her mist was healing people and looked over to the tent.
Thor watched Desi with an affectionate gaze, with Odin and Frigga smiling at her as they watched her work. Thor looked up at her once more and saw her black hair slowly change to a white/silver platinum hair tone; he couldn't help but wonder what she'd think of that new look on her.
Desi let out a deep breath, falling on one knee as she felt her energy nearly depleted. Bucky approached her, kneeling beside her when Desi looked up at him.
"You alright?" Bucky asked but Desi clung onto his arm as she pushed herself up.
"Yes, thanks, carino." She whispered as she walked towards Astros.
"Let's head home as soon as possible." Bucky urged her, lifting her back up on Astros
"I'm okay with that." Desi said with a smile as Bucky joined her, Astros bringing them back over to Odin.
Odin walked over to them with his wife beside him, Thor following behind as they took in her new look.
"Asgard will never forget your kindness today, Lady Destiny. Why don't you stay and rest for now, while we celebrate this joyous occasion?" Odin encouraged her.
"I'd love nothing more to do that, but I'm afraid I have duties to attend to back on Midgard." Desi told them, bowing her head.
"I understand, we will have the feast in your honor. For our Lady Destiny!" Odin shouted, followed by loud cheers. Desi smiled as she straightened herself out, feeling Bucky wrapping his arms around her securely.
"It was a pleasure seeing you again, I'll be back to visit when there is time. Bye, everyone." She said before Buck tapped Astros, taking off without any warning.
Thor watched as they left together, and his chest hurt. Desi didn't once give him a passing glance, he missed her smile and carefree personality; something she restrained doing today.
"You wish to go see her, don't you?" Frigga asked him.
Thor nodded, unsure how to best proceed.
"You may wish to go visit her; you still need to speak with them about your brother." Frigga urged him and he nodded.
"Of course, you're right. Thank you, mother." Thor spoke.
"Good luck getting her back, darling." Frigga said with a smile before he took off after them.
Walking into the top floor of the compound, Desi was alarmed when she saw her reflection on herself in the mirror. She carefully approached her reflection, hesitantly touching her hair as she took in her appearance.
"Oh, wow, that was fast-" Pepper froze when she saw Desi, hitting Tony.
Tony looked up from the sofa and quickly stood up, blinking a few times to make sure he was seeing correctly.
"Is that you Angel?" Tony asked.
Desi groaned, running a hand through her hair as it finally settled in her mind.
"How in the world did I get this hair?" Desi asked, looking over to Bucky.
"Back on Asgard, while you were healing everyone." Buck told her simply.
"I should really dye this back…" Desi said under her breath.
"Honey, that can take all week. Look how long your hair is." Pepper informed her.
Desi sighed, "You're right…"
The team was alarmed when they heard the familiar sound of Thor's arrival, and Tony didn't waste any time activating the right hand of his suit, Pepper rolling her eyes.
"Tony, please don't." Pepper warned him.
"I just want to talk to him." Tony said, excusing himself as he patted Buck's arm.
"Want to join me?" Tony asked.
"Right behind you." Buck agreed.
"Babe…" Desi whispered, grabbing Bucky's arm but he kissed her forehead.
"We'll be right back." Bucky assured Desi before following Tony.
Desi sighed, shaking her head with a small smile on her face when Pepper approached her.
"How are things with Bucky, by the way? Things looked a little heated this morning." Pepper asked.
"We're good. We're still working on our communication but…we're good. We, um, we kissed this morning." Desi told her.
"Really? Or was there something else after that?" Pepper teased, smiling in excitement for her.
"Yes, oh my god, I've been dying to tell someone! He was so…firm and passionate." Desi said, hardly containing her smile.
"It's always the quiet ones." Pepper said. A loud crash was heard outside, and the women squinted their eyes when they could only imagine what in the world was happening.
"I'll add some sex protection items in your bathroom soon but please take precautions, okay?" Pepper advised her.
"Oh, you're right, I should probably get some later." Desi spoke, not even thinking of that.
Another loud crash was heard outside and Desi grew concerned.
"Should we go get them?"
"It's fine, give them a moment." Pepper assures her.
Desi fidgeted nervously until the elevator door pinged open again. The women looked over and saw Buck and Tony walk in with satisfied looks on their faces, with a disgruntled Thor behind them holding his side in pain.
"Oh my god!" Desi exclaimed, walking over to Thor but Tony caught her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Listen to Uncle Tony for a moment here and let him suffer a little bit longer, okay?" Tony told Desi, flashing her a wink.
"Stark, we still have a business must discuss…it involves everyone here." Thor spoke.
Tony took a deep breath, looking for his shoulder to him.
"Fine, let's speak in the meeting room." Tony said, releasing Destiny as he guided everyone.
"Well, I must head back into the city, but I'll see you later, Desi. Let me know if anything happens." Pepper told Desi before giving her a brief hug.
"Bye Aunt Pepper." Desi said, hugging her back before Pepper walked away.
She walked into the room and saw Tony standing at the head of the table, standing to his left was Thor as Buck stood to Tony's right.
"My father has declared that Loki is to return to Midgard to redeem for his actions here. Simply put, I'd like for him to reside here to help do that." Thor said.
"Yeah, no way in hell I'm allowing him Reindeer Games to stay here. Do you not remember the hundreds of people that died because of him?" Tony disagreed, clearly agitated.
"I understand where your anger is coming from, but I assure you: he will be collared with Asgardian equipment. He will not be able to use his abilities on anyone, and I will be beside him each time. If it pleases you, he can wear Midgard items to help ease your mind." Thor tried to assure him.
"No way in hell is he roaming around, he should be thrown in a cell and have the key thrown away. I-" Tony sighed in irritation, running a hand through his hair as he was trying to calm himself.
"What say of you two?" Thor asked, looking at Buck and Desi.
"I think he should be given the chance like I was given one, but he can never be alone." Bucky said.
"You've proven yourself already but that doesn't mean we don't have precautions in place for you." Tony reminded him.
Desi saw Buck's jew clench, and she frowned.
" Does Loki even want to atone for his actions?" Desi asked, looking over to Thor.
"Loki would like to, he said he'd follow your example as best he could." Thor told her, smiling at her.
"There's no way Reindeer Games will ever be alone with her." Tony told him.
"I second that." Bucky said, making Desi roll her eyes.
"I think we should ask everyone their input on this though, including Fury; it's not just us here." Desi said.
"I'll have to talk to Fury…let's meet here in an hour."
