Rukia's POV

"Did that idiot really get lost?" Renji commented, his chin resting on his hand, eyes scanning the crowd, looking for something, or someone in our case. We sat at our table, the voices of the people surrounding us floating around like a haze.

"Maybe," I added, though I wasn't really convinced that he was lost. Ichigo may be an idiot, but if there was one thing he did have, it was a sense of direction. "Maybe we should go look for him." I glanced at Renji to see that he too, was looking around for the orange haired idiot.

"Call him first," Renji told me.

"Don't tell me what to do," I retorted, but I took out my lavender colored phone with the Chappy charm and flipped it open and held down speed dial number three.

I took a quick glance at the picture I had as Ichigo's contact photo. There he was, smiling like a fool. His bright smile completely illuminating. His eyes were shut, and one side of his lips was higher than the other.

I smiled softly, blushing as I gazing at the smile that I love with all my heart before pressing the phone to the ear and listening.

I got the dialed tone, then Ichigo's voicemail. I hung up and looked at Renji, "I got his voicemail."

"I guess we have to go looking for him, though I have to say, Rukia, your boy repellent must be on high today," Renji chuckled as he ducked away from my vengeful fists.

Still fuming, I followed Renji through the crowds of people. My petite stature helping me move through the crowd with ease. I approached the first ice cream vendor and showed him a picture of Ichigo, one of many, that I had on my phone, "Have you seen my boyfriend?" I felt heat rise in my face, seeing as this was the first time I have ever referred to Ichigo as my boyfriend.

"Sorry, can't say that have."

My heart clenched, but I smiled and thanked the man before continuing to look.

"Did he see him?" Renji asked.

"No, come one let's keep looking." My pace increase as panic levels. Leave it to that idiot to get lost, he's most likely got himself into another fight. No matter where Ichigo went he was always getting into trouble, it followed him like a stalker.

My eyes scanned the crowd, hoping that this was all a joke and Ichigo would come out and shove an ice cream in my face like he always did. I kept walking, making my way to the outskirts of the fair. I had lost Renji a while ago, maybe he found Ichigo.

It was quieter here, on the outskirts, not a lot of people were around, there where a few concession stands, but not many, it was practically a ghost town here.

"Ichigo!" I called out, waiting for his obnoxious voice to call back, telling me to shut up, and then comment on my height, but nothing came.

"Rukia, come take a look at this!" My head snapped in the direction that my name was being called from. A little bit to my left, maybe ten feet away, stood Renji, holding something.

I stood still, not sure if I wanted to go over and see what he was holding, but reluctantly I made my way over. My face was blank, and all I could hear was the crunching of popcorn, and dirt under my feet. I reached Renji and asked, "What is it?" and looked into his hands. There sitting in his palms was Ichigo's wallet and phone. I took both and flipped open his phone, my missed calls were registered.

"So maybe he lost his wallet, it wouldn't have been the first time," Renji mused, scratching his head as he looked around.

"Renji, why are we so calm? I mean Ichigo is missing, and we're just standing here! Is there something wrong with us? Maybe we should go look for him, I mean they couldn't have taken him far. Should we call the police? Oh my god, how are we going to tell Isshin, and Karin and Yuzu will be devastated, and then we have to find him, and that is if we find him. No!"

"Rukia, keep calm will you? We don't even know if Ichigo is missing, you know as well as anyone that Ichigo can take care of himself. You can bet that he will fight, he better, because if he doesn't I'll beat his ass back from the dead and make him regret not fighting harder," Renji reassured me, but I still couldn't stop that bad feeling that was making its way into the pit of my stomach.

"Maybe, Renji, but I can't stop this feeling that something bad is going to happen." I gripped Ichigo's wallet and opened it, and right there were three pictures. I took them out and saw that one was of his family, back when his mom was still alive, and the other was a picture of the three of us, covered in mud and laughing.

The last one was of the both of us, it was of our high school graduation, our arms were wrapped around the others waist, and we were smiling. My lips curved up at the memory. I placed the pictured back in his wallet and looked up to Renji.

"I guess we have to go tell Isshin," I said, putting Ichigo's wallet into my pocket.

"Yeah, let's go," Renji agreed. We took one last look around, hoping to see Ichigo, but we saw no one.

Night had fallen, and the air was crisp. We walked fast to the Kurosaki household. Once we finally got there we stood in front of the door and just stared at it. How could we face them? It was Ichigo's birthday, and now he was missing.

I reached for the door knob, and before I could open it we came face to face with Isshin Kurosaki.

"Renji! Rukia! You're all back early, but where is is my idiot son?" Isshin had a huge grin plastered on his face.

"Well you see, about that–" Renji started, but I cut him off.

"He's missing," I blurted out.

"What? Missing! My stupid idiot of son got himself kidnapped!" he stopped talking and he looked up to the moon, his face completely serious for a fraction of a second before returning to his normal goofy face, "Where have I gone wrong! Masaki, I have failed in raising our idiot son to be able to defend himself!" Tears ran down his face, as he rushed inside the house to the huge poster of his late wife and cried out how he failed.

"Dad, what's wrong with you now?" Karin asked, she turned and saw us standing in the door way. I looked into her dark gray eyes. There was a spark in them, life, and I had to kill it. We were all silent, not really knowing what to say to Karin.

"Well?" inquired Karin.

"Well you see–" Renji started but I cut him off once again.

Looking right into her eyes, I blurted out, "Ichigo's missing."

Karin blinked and we all waited for her response. "Ichi-nii is missing?" Karin asked, the light in her eyes fading.

"Karin! Is there someone at the door?" Our heads turned to the kitchen, where Yuzu's voice came from.

We were all frozen, even Isshin didn't know what to say.

"It's just dad being an idiot!" Karin responded, she looked at Renji and I. In a hushed voice she continued, "You guys gotta go, we're not going to tell Yuzu anything, I'll tell her that Ichi-nii is at Renji-nii's house. I don't want her to worry. Ichi-nii will stay with you guys until we can actually find him," I watched as the fire returned to Karin's eyes, "and we will find him, right dad?" we all looked to Isshin to see him reduced to tears.

"My baby Karin is all grown up! Come to daddy so that he may hug you to his manly chest!" he yelled out before launching himself at Karin, who in response extended a fist that landed beautifully in the center of his face.

"Why can't you be normal, honestly dad, it's embarrassing sometimes," Karin muttered and took back her hand and shook it.

"Karin! I though I told you that punching daddy is mean!" Yuzu called out.

"Oh Yuzu! You're the only one left that loves daddy!" Isshin yelled and ran to the kitchen.

"Go, and find Ichi-nii okay?" with that Karin turned around and walked in the direction of the kitchen. Renji and I stood there.

"Right, let's go, Renji," I said. I turned around and opened the door and walked out, I held it open and Renji walked through, and very carefully we closed the door so no sound was made.

"Rukia, what the hell are we supposed to do? I mean we can't just go out there, maybe we should ask Byakuya, and see if he can do anything," reasoned Renji.

"No, you know my father wouldn't help, and you can sure as hell believe that we are going out there, but we need help, who can we trust, that can help us," I began walking down the street, Renji following.

"Rukia, I know where this conversation is going, and I don't like it," Renji said.

I turned on him, "Well what do you think we should do? Sit on our asses while Ichigo is out there? If you were missing Ichigo would be out there looking! So shut up and help me think!" I huffed and turned back around.

"We don't even know if he's missing, Rukia, for all we know he really did get lost at the fair and is looking for us right now," Renji held up his hands up and shrugged, "For all we know, we just ditched Ichigo at the fair."

"No, you don't get it, Renji, Ichigo is in danger. Don't you get that? This isn't just Ichigo disappearing again, this is different. Don't ask me how I know, but I do, I can feel it in here," I pointed to my heart, "but if you want to pansy out then fine, I'll find someone that will help me, because I can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen, something really bad." I turned around and ran in the opposite direction.

"Rukia!" Renji called after me, but I ignored him and kept running.

How can he? After everything the three of us have been though, Renji won't help. Maybe I'm just over reacting, but honestly, how can Renji not want to help his best friend? I huffed before running faster, names running though my head. Thinking who could help me.

Uryu couldn't, he was on a date with Orihime, which meant she was also a no. Tatsuki had a karate tournament that she was most likely winning in Tokyo. Chad was visiting family in Mexico and everyone else was pretty much useless. All but two people.

Kaien, Ichigo's cousin, and Hanataro, a friend of mine.

Seeing as how Kaien conveniently lived close by, I decided to stop at his house first. It was seven blocks away from the Kurosaki home, easily in running distance. The night sky was looming, the full moon casting enough light that when the light posts stopped I could still see where I was going.

I made my way to the house at the end of the last street. I braced my hands on my knees before I walked up to the door and knocked. I waited, and finally Miyako opened the door.

"Oh, Rukia, I haven't seen you around in a while, is there something I can help you with?" I looked up at Miyako, Kaien's wife, and smiled.

"Yeah, is Kaien home? I want to ask him something," I used the voice that I used when lying and I guess my acting skills weren't the best because the next thing I know, Miyako is looking at me with her look.

"Rukia, is there something wrong? Did something happen?" her eyes were filled with worry.

I looked down at her swollen belly, her and Kaien's first baby was in there, growing, waiting to be born and make his mark on the world, so I looked up at her and smiled, "Nope, it's just a question I have."

"Miyako? Who is it?" I looked behind Miyako to see Kaien turning the corner. When he saw me he smiled, "Kuchiki! What are you doing here?"

"Can I ask you something! It's super important, so can you hurry your ass and get out here?"

Miyako laughed and Kaien made a disapproving sound, "Jeez, who taught you to talk like that!" he commented, but walked over to me, kissing Miyako, telling her that he will only be a moment, and then closing the door.

"You did, now I have good news and bad news, which do you want to hear first?" I looked up at Kaien, since I was so short the porch light framed Kaien's head, making his black hair seem almost orange around the edges. Kaien and Ichigo already looked so much alike but now this was just ridiculous.

"Good," responded Kaien.

I smiled. "Ichigo finally asked me out."

"Finally! I was starting to worry that my little cousin was playing for the other team!" he laughed, and I chuckled along, "Now tell me, what's the bad news?"

I took a breath, and wrung my fingers together, "He's missing."

He was quiet so I looked up and saw Kaien looking up at the moon. "He'll show up, so don't go searching, which I know is why you came, isn't it, Rukia. You want me to help you look for him, so I'm telling you now, drop it." That's all he said.

I growled, aggravated with everyone. "What do you mean I should drop it!? Kaien, this is Ichigo I'm talking about, your cousin might I add!" I shrieked, and Kaien just stood there, his arms crossed, and he just shrugged.

"Rukia, I know he's my cousin, don't you think I want to find him just as much as you do? Tell me Rukia, where do you plan on looking for him? Hmm? They could have taken him anywhere! Just let the cops handle it okay," Kaien rubbed his chin and turned away from me, his other hand on his hip.

I clenched my fist, my anger was rising in me like lava in a volcano. "God! Does no one care? If you, or anyone were missing, Ichigo would be out there looking! So that's what I'm going to do! I don't care what you, or Renji, or even Isshin thinks! I'm going out there and I'm going to find him!" I stormed off, my knuckles white as snow, my temper skyrocketing. I kept walking, continuing my search to look for someone that will help me find him.

"He's lucky to have you!" Kaien called out.

I raised my right arm as high as it would go, shot of my middle finger, and kept waking. I would find Ichigo, even if it killed me.

I kept walking, I heard Kaien open his door and go inside, closing it behind him. I guess Hanataro was my only chance. Unfortunately for me, Hanataro lived across town. I walked to the local bus station and waited. I wrapped my arms around my self, rubbing my arms slightly, trying to create some friction, trying to warm myself in the cool summer breeze.

I looked around the lamp posts that were casting light on the empty streets, the houses all dark, the lights off, meaning that the people inside were home and safe, but Ichigo wasn't, he was out there somewhere, and I was going to find him. I looked up at the night sky, and I looked at the moon, full and bright, it shone beautifully against the night sky.

Finally, the bus came down the street, it was the only sound heard beside some crickets here and there. The bus came to a smooth stop, and it released air as the brakes fully stopped the large vehicle. The doors opened with a creak, and I walked up to the door. Walking up the steps, I put a hand in my pocket retrieving the small amount of money I had left from the fair and deposited it in the small toll box before walking to the back of the bus and sitting right next to the window.

We stood there for about a good minute before the bus finally started moving again. As the bus moved I watched the world pass by. Where was Ichigo? How in the world had that idiot managed to get kidnapped? The more important question was why did they take him? What has he done? Or was he just at the wrong place at the wrong time? This was all my fault. If I hadn't asked for the stupid ice cream, maybe he would still be here.

I watched the side walk, waiting for my stop, but then I see a couple walking down the street holding hands.

Now I'm not exactly a girly-girl, but I still have feelings. I've liked Ichigo for a while, but never had the guts to say it, and finally Ichigo tells me he feels the same. God, did I act so stupid, it wasn't like me at all, blushing, giggling, it's so not me. The things sugar does to me, but then there is also the way my heart fluttered when I'm with Ichigo, that is why I have to do everything I can to save him.

Finally, we make it to my stop and I run down the steps, the chill air biting at my skin. Hanataro's apartment wasn't far from the bus stop, maybe two apartment complexes away. I ran to the small apartment complex and looked to see that on the fourth floor, the fourth window to the left a light was shinning.

I smiled and walked up the final steps before I clicked the buzzer to room 4D.

"H—Hello? Can I h—help you?" came the timid voice of Hanataro Yamada.

"Hanataro! It's me, Rukia, can I come up! I need your help, its important" I called into the speaker.

"R—Rukia-chan? Oh, of course! One moment please!" I smiled and heard a buzz signaling that the door was unlocked.

I pushed it opened and walked into the building, my head whipped back and forth looking for the stairs. Finally I find the sign that reads stairs in florescent green. I quickly ran to the door and pushed it open. I take the stairs two at a time, my lean legs proving helpful in my hast. I make it to the fourth floor in no time. My eyes scanned the hallway, looking for the the right door. Finally I saw room number, 4D. I ran to the door and knocked, I took a deep breath to steady myself.

The door opened, and I saw Hanataro looking up at me with those big gray eyes. A pair of headphones around his neck. His black hair was in its same style.

"Rukia-chan, please come inside," he moved backward and made room for me to enter. I did so and looked around the small apartment. The only light that illuminated the apartment was that of the multiple computer screens.

Hanataro closed the door and walked to the kitchen, "Is there anything I can get you, Rukia-chan?" he called out to me.

"No, thank you, but I do need your help," I reminded him. He walked back to the room I was in and looked at me.

"Yes of course, w–what is it that you needed?"

I hoped that I could get the lead I needed, "Well I need your technological skills to see if you can find Ichigo, he went missing, and I know it hasn't even been twenty-four hours but I know that he is in trouble, and I need to help him. So will you help me?" I looked at him, his eyes were wide.

"Y–yes! I will help you find Ichigo-san!" he looked at me expectantly, "But how can I help?"

I smiled, glad that I could count on someone, "Remember a few years ago? You designed and created a computer program that can track a phone by phone number? Well I was thinking that maybe we can track to see where Ichigo is, or maybe the general area." I told him as I grabbed a pen from his desk and a piece of scrap paper a wrote down Ichigo's number. I handed him the number, "So, do you think you can do it?"

Hanataro looked flustered, and a slight blush was on a cheek, "Of–of course!" Hanataro smiled timidly and shuffled over to his computer chair and sat down, wheeling himself to sit in front of the computer monitor.

I watched in amazement as Hanataro's fingers flew across the keyboard. The black screen with green lettering and numbers made no sense to me, but Hanataro understood, and that was all that mattered, "Rukia, can I please have Ichigo's number?" I heard him say in a confident voice. I was shocked at first, Hanataro had never called me by my first name with no honorific, being on his computer must give him confidence.

I quickly recited Ichigo's number and then the screen turned completely back, then a loading bar appeared, my stomach dropped as I watched the bar move at a sluggish pace.

"It will take some time, but I know it will defiantly do the job," Hanataro told me and pushed his seat away form the desk"

I backed up and sat on a chair, sighing. I'm so close, I though, my hands gripping my jeans my head bent, my hair covering my face. Where was he? I didn't care how long it will take, I will find him, no matter what.

"Thank you," I whispered, "You're the only one that's helping me, no one else will."

Hanataro's just gave a nervous chuckle and I could just see him with that clueless look on his face, "I owe Kurosaki-san for all the times that he stuck up for me in school, this is the least of could do, I just wish I was more, useful."

I looked at him and smiled, "You are doing so much more then you know, thanks to you we can find where he is." it was once again silent, and I was about to add more, tell Hanataro how much Ichigo would appreciate what he was doing there was a ring, and I looked to the computer screen to see that the bar was full and a map was on the screen, complete with a little dot that read you are here.

Hanataro rolled to his computer and looked at the screen.

"hes in the middle of nowhere," Hanataro said, but I didn't care, I had his location! And that was good enough for me.

"Is there someway I could have a copy?" I asked, my happiness bubbling over.

"Y–yes, I can print you a c–copy," he hit the print button and gave it to me. I felt like a tone of bricks had been lifted from my shoulders, I know where Ichigo is!

I looked at the map, and then threw my arms around Hanataro's small frame, "Thank you so much! Call me if anything changes okay?" I let go of the embarrassed boy and ran to the door, "Remember, call me if anything changes!"

"Ok–okay!" he smiled and I opened the door and headed down the hall, clutching the piece of paper. I took out my cell phone and dialed Renji's number, it rang once, twice. I was about to hang up and call again when I finally heard Renji's sleepy voice come over the speaker, "What the hell do you want Rukia, i'ts late..."Renji complained.

If I wasn't so happy I would have yelled at him, "Renji, I found him! I know where Ichigo is."

A/N: Yeah we found Ichigo! but why is he in the middle of nowhere? Who took him? and why is Rukia so worried? Once again, I'm sorry for the wait, but tell me what you think!

REVIEW!
