Chapter Eight- mom and dad discover

it's been a few weeks since the Cindy incident she hasn't stopped mumbling to kitty every now and then and she carries it around like she did back when she was six. Carol and Mike are really concerned about it but Bobby just says Cindy has dug into her inner child but they're not buying it they call Cindy down to Mike's study.

Cindy:what's this all about?

Mike:sweetheart your mother and I are concerned about you you've been carrying around your kitty doll with you for the past month you haven't done that since you were six

Cindy:yes well you see Jan and i got into a little fight and she was about to throw kitty away and this one is the one that my biological dad gave me

Carol:so this is what it's all about. Cindy do you miss Daniel aka your father?

(A/N: just so you all know I did search the Internet to find out if Carol's first husband's name was ever mentioned and even though I don't remember them mentioning it I did find this info on the Internet that his name was Daniel)

Cindy: my dad's name was Daniel...kitty is all I have left of him

Mike looks at Carol really concerned for Cindy's well being

Mike:Cindy, have you ever thought about getting some counseling especially with the subject of your father?

Cindy:no sir I was a happy child so there was no need but now it's different i miss him more than ever

Carol:than i think counseling is a very smart idea

With Bobby he's rummaging through his old trunk and finds the teddy bear his mom gave him before she passed away there's a knock on his door

Bobby:Come in

Mike steps in

Mike:could I speak to you for-

He sees Bobby hugging the bear very tight

Mike:bob is that the teddy your mom gave you before she passed away?

Bobby:Yeah I haven't seen it in years but Cindy with Kitty reminded me of him i think i named him frank when i was little

Mike:Bobby,Carol and i just had a conversation with Cindy and she told-

Bobby:whatever she said about Jan and I is not true

Mike is very confused he thinks Bobby is too

Mike:Bobby I think you're confused. Cindy said nothing about Jan and you. i'll get back to you on that...however we encouraged Cindy to go to counseling. I was wondering if you could bring her and be with her for moral support?

Bobby:Yeah dad I can do that

Mike:thanks. now what about you and Jan?

Bobby was hoping his dad forgot about that...He doesn't want to lie but he can't tell his dad the truth. at least without Jan.

Mike:bob,i'm waiting

Bobby:dad i think it's better if Jan and i tell you and mom together

Mike:Alright my den after dinner. you're not off the hook yet

Bobby is relived for now but he still has to tell Jan. he runs upstairs to the attic

Bobby:Jan,are you in here?

There's no answer. bobby thinks that's peculiar after all it is Jan's room (for now). he runs up the stars worried and finds Jan passed out on the bed with a suicide note in her hand. Bobby tries to wake her up but to no avail. he calls the family at the hospital. Bobby is sitting next to Mike.

Bobby:dad this is all my fault

Cindy take a deep breath

Cindy:no it's my fault...mom,dad Bobby and jan are in a relationship like a romantic one. and if i'm being honest i've always liked Bobby more than a brother and when i found out that him and jan were a thing i got mad and blackmailed them and the pressure got to Jan. I am so sorry

Bobby:Cindy! this wasn't the right time to tell them

Cindy:when would've been? when she was dead

Carol:oh cindy please

The doctor comes out

Doctor:mr and Mrs Brady

They stand up holding hands

Doctor:Jan ingested a lot of pills and it was a little tricky to get them all out but we were able to. she's stable for now but we would like to keep her overnight for observation

Carol:oh thank goodness

Mike:can we go see her?

Doctor: well here comes the bad news even though she is stable she's in a coma we don't know when or if she'll wake up

Cindy feels horrible she never meant for it to get this bad she's just truly in love with her step brother but she also loves Jan like she always has it's a sister thing

Cindy:Doctor, even though she's not awake is there even a way I can have a moment alone with Jan? I promise I won't be long if you let me see her

Doctor:Sure if all of you want to see her I would suggest one at a time so this young lady can be first and then the rest of you can go consecutively after that

The Doctor leads Cindy to Jan's room she's a nervous wreck the doctor leaves her at the door and Cindy quietly creeps in. Jan is laying in a hospital bed motionless but breathing and sleeping Cindy sits in the chair next to her bed

Cindy:Jan, I don't know if you can hear me but I'm really really sorry you're put in this position I never expected it to get this bad mom and dad know now I told them and I'm sorry if it wasn't the right time I just couldn't hold it anymore I just want you know I want you and Bobby to be happy so if you ever wake up from this I will never get in the middle of you two again I promise. Please Jan's just don't die

Cindy was really hoping that Jan would wake up like in all the movies but this is real life no movie magic here. Bobby goes in after Cindy. He goes up to Jan's bedside and holds her hand

Bobby:Jan, if you don't make it through this I don't know what I'll do even though you're my stepsister I truly feel like you are the one for me I never felt that way about anyone before so please Jan please please wake up for me please

Despite bobby's pleas his prayer does not work he leaves Jan with a soft kiss on her lips and leaves so each of his parents can have a moment alone with Jan, starting with Mike

Mike:Jan, it's horrible to see you like this but we're all praying very hard that you wake up from this mess. if anybody didn't deserve this it's you you have always been one of my favorites you've always been my girl please Jan don't leave us I love you and I'll send your mom in and then we're all gonna go get some rest at home you better wake up

Mike let's Carol go in finally she's the most devastated of all she doesn't blame Cindy for this or Bobby or even Jan she blames it on God for letting this happen she's never wanted to do that but at this point it's only thing that would takes hold of Jan's hand.

Carol:Jan,we need you to wake do this for Mommy

Jan's eyes flutter open

Jan:mom?

Carol is very relieved to see that Jan is awake but she's also devastated because her voice is very raspy

Carol:oh Jan thank god you woke up
