X-Men: An Unnatural Omega Volume 2
Chapter 14: Epilogue/The Nightmare…..
…
Some Time in the Future…In New York
Logan with a metal arm and a Laura from the dark multiverse gave the all clear signal as a small flock of snake/dragon crows flew by searching for survivors. The Air was thick with destruction that littered the remains of buildings as their were massive fissure's in the distance like black monolith's that exteneded into the sky as the others came out of the wreckage.
As the group of mutants stepped out of the wreckage, they surveyed the devastation around them. The air was thick with the stench of death and destruction, and the ground was littered with debris and rubble.
Logan, with his metal arm, turned to the group and gave a grim nod. "We need to keep moving," he said, his voice hoarse from the smoke and ash.
Wade Wilson, with his arsenal of weapons, followed closely behind Logan. Lady Deadpool and a grizzled Magneto, without his helmet, followed suit, their expressions solemn.
Spider-Gwen, with her white and black suit, looked around in shock. "This is horrible," she said softly.
Logan turned to her, his expression hardened. "This is what we're fighting for," he said, gesturing to the destruction around them. "We can't let this happen again."
The group continued to move forward, their footsteps crunching on the broken glass and rubble. In the distance, they could see the faint glow of a base, and they quickened their pace.
As they approached the base, they were met by a group of mutants who had been waiting for them. The mutants, armed with weapons, looked weary but determined.
Logan nodded to them. "We need to regroup and plan our next move," he said.
The mutants led them inside the base, where they were met by a holographic display of the multiverse. Logan approached the display, studying it intently.
"We need to find a way to stop this," he said, his voice heavy with determination. "We can't let them win."
The group stood around Logan, their expressions resolute. They knew what was at stake, and they were willing to do whatever it took to save their world.
As they walked towards the base, the group couldn't help but feel the weight of their actions, and the guilt that came with it. It had been some time since the dark multiverse breached their own, and they had all done something terrible that resulted in the death of Laura and ultimately led to Derreck being under the control of his half-brother. They each felt a sense of responsibility, blaming themselves and each other for what had happened.
Logan, who had lost his healing factor, spoke up, breaking the heavy silence. "We can't keep blaming ourselves for what happened. We need to focus on stopping Derreck and his brother from causing any more damage."
Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, chimed in with his usual irreverence, "Yeah, I mean, I killed my fair share of people, but let's not dwell on the past. Let's focus on the future!"
Lady Deadpool gave him a disapproving look, "Wade, this isn't the time for jokes. We all made mistakes, and we need to own up to them."
Magneto, who looked much older and grizzled than before, nodded in agreement, "She's right. We must take responsibility for our actions and make things right."
Spider-Gwen added, "We can't change the past, but we can make sure that we don't make the same mistakes in the future. We have to stop Derreck and his brother, no matter the cost."
As they walk they notice that mystiqe and destiny are sitting on a car... as mystiqe guards destiny...and they stiffen when they notice sabertooth who's relaxing next to them.
Sabertooth joins them and brings up the fact that they all let Laura die for a selfish reason, even if it was unintentional. "I must say, even I was impressed by the savagery of it, and how you allowed the two other lives to die... tsk tsk tsk," he sneers. He then offers a truce, as long as the threat in the sky remains. ...i told you that it would be a mistake to do what you did...and when the other logan asks what he wants he says. "...a truce... this is as much my multiverse as it is your's...so a truce...".
The group looked at each other, unsure of what to do. The thought of a truce with Sabretooth, their longtime enemy, was unsettling. But at the same time, they were exhausted from the constant fighting and death.
Logan with the metal arm stepped forward and said, "What are your terms?"
Sabretooth grinned, "No terms. Just a mutual understanding. We lay down our weapons and stop this senseless fighting. We focus on the real enemy, the ones who are tearing apart the multiverse."
Logan growls, "What makes you think we'll agree to your terms?"
Sabertooth chuckles, "Because we both know that we need each other right now. Without our combined efforts, we'll all be dead soon enough. Besides, I've always had a soft spot for you, Logan. You're like the little brother I never wanted."
Logan bristles at the comment, but Wade puts a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. "Let's hear him out, bub. It's not like we got a lot of options."
Lady Deadpool speaks up, "He's right. We need all the help we can get if we want to survive this."
Magneto nods in agreement, "For the time being, a truce may be our best option."
Logan sighs, "Fine. But if you try anything, I'll gut you like a fish."
Sabertooth grins, "Trust me, Logan. I'm not the one you should be worried about."
As he says that the sentry with buzzcut hair lands on the ground next to them saying...He's coming! Get ready!
The group quickly gets into position, preparing for whatever is coming. As they do so, Sabretooth turns to Logan and says, "Remember, Logan, as long as the threat remains, we have a truce. But once it's gone, all bets are off."
Logan nods, acknowledging Sabretooth's words as he readies his claws. Lady Deadpool cracks her knuckles, while Spider-Gwen checks her web-shooters. Magneto looks to the sky, ready to unleash his powers on whatever foe may come.
As they dust cleard from where the individual impacted the ground...the familiar form of derreck stood up...with his eye's glowing in the strange symbols...
…
Logan takes a moment to center himself, realizing that he was dreaming. He looks around and sees that he is back on Krakoa. He lets out a sigh of relief and rubs his eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream. He stands up from his bed and stretches, feeling the tension in his muscles release.
As he walks out of his room, he notices that it's early morning, and the sun is just starting to rise. He takes a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air and the peacefulness of the island. But his mind keeps going back to the dream, and he wonders if it was just his imagination or something more.
As he walks towards the central hub of Krakoa, he sees some of the other mutants going about their business. He nods to them, acknowledging their presence, but he keeps walking, lost in thought.
He knows that something is coming, something big and dangerous. And he wonders if the dream was a warning, a glimpse of what's to come. He shakes his head, trying to clear his mind, but the image of Derreck's glowing eyes and the strange symbols lingers.
He decides to focus on the present, on what he can control. He heads to the training grounds to work on his skills, to prepare for whatever is coming. He knows that he can't face this alone and that he'll need the help of his fellow mutants.
He takes a deep breath, feeling the rush of adrenaline as he faces his training partners. He's ready for whatever comes his way, determined to protect his home and his family.
