"But if you didn't want to go to the play, you should have just said so." With that, Camille turned and walked away. Logan stared after her in concern for a second, then moved forward - which wasn't easy in that stupid bubble - calling her name. "Camille, wait! Camille!"
Luckily for him, she actually stopped and looked at him skeptically, crossing her arms over her chest. "You lied to me."
"Yes, you're right."
"Not cool, bro," Doc Hollywood commented. Logan turned around, giving him an annoyed look. "Would you mind giving us some privacy here?"
Doc Hollywood raised his eyebrows. "I'd love to, but we're still in this bubble. So how exactly did you plan to have privacy?"
"I have no idea," Logan admitted in frustration. "Just . . . just turn around, okay?"
"Okay," the doctor replied, turning his back on them. Logan looked back at Camille.
"Why did you do it, Logan?"
"Because I . . . I didn't want to disappoint you. You were looking forward to this play so much. And I thought . . . I thought if I told you I was sick, you'd be disappointed, but not because of me. It wouldn't have been my fault then, you know?"
"Do you know what I always admired about you, Logan?"
"No, tell me."
"You've always been honest and sincere. And suddenly you start lying and involving other people into it. That's not okay."
"I agree," Doc Hollywood murmured in the background. Logan gave him a light kick in the calf, then he tilted his head and stared at the floor. "I know it was wrong . . . Does that mean you're going to break up with me now?"
Camille was silent.
"Go ahead, I deserve it."
"Do you know what you are?"
Logan thought he heard the hint of a smile in her voice. He slowly raised his head and actually saw a slight smile on her face. "Stupid?"
Camille nodded. "Yes. But mostly cute."
Logan beamed and put a hand on the wall of the bubble. Camille did the same, and for a second or two they locked eyes with a smile. Doc Hollywood clapped his hands. "Great. So, now that this unfortunate story is over, as a doctor, I'm ordering that we get out of this bubble, so you two lovebirds can go to see your play."
"Not so fast," Camille said sternly, startling Logan and Doc Hollywood.
"You've got a lesson to learn too. After all, you supported Logan through all this nonsense. So, I suggest you both come to the play . . . including your stupid bubble."
Doc Hollywood looked like he'd just bitten into a lemon.
"Aren't you afraid that we might embarrass you?" Logan asked doubtfully.
"I am," Camille admitted. "But I'm more excited to see your embarrassed faces when everyone will be staring at the two of you."
Logan and Doc Hollywood exchanged a look.
"Are we at least getting popcorn?" the doctor asked.
"Yes, you get popcorn."
Doc Hollywood nodded. "Okay then, let's get this over with."
Quietly, Logan opened the door of 2J, stepped in, and just as quietly closed it again. Everything was dark and quiet. It was much later than he had originally planned to come home. But he'd had some interesting medical discussions with Doc Hollywood after the play. He stretched, glad to be able to move freely again, when a loud snore made him flinch. He approached the couch and saw Kendall sleeping soundly. Logan frowned, unable to explain why his friend was sleeping on the couch instead in his bed. But then he just shrugged, let Kendall sleep, and went to his room. "What a day," he muttered to himself as he took off his sweater.
"And the day isn't over yet, Logie-bear."
Logan literally jumped in shock. "Camille?!"
The lamp on his bedside table went on. Camille sat on his bed and looked at him for a moment, then she got up and walked towards him until she was standing right in front of him. Then she slapped him.
"Ow!" Logan hissed, rubbing his throbbing cheek.
"That was for lying to me."
"Yeah, okay, I know I deserved this and . . . ow!"
She had slapped him a second time. "And that was for you not giving in, even though I gave you the chance to do it."
Before Logan could reply, Camille suddenly pulled him close and kissed him passionately.
"Then what's the meaning of this kiss?" Logan whispered against her lips.
"It means you can call yourself lucky that you're so damn cute."
Logan smiled. "So . . . what now?"
Camille smirked. "Well, do you think I kicked Kendall out of his room for nothing?"
