The very air in Dathomir seemed to hum with worry. Night-Brother clans were called from the mountains by the Mother. They didn't know why but the were told to expect a fight. The Night-Sisters were constantly looking over their shoulders in worry. For they knew what was coming. Vengeance was coming.
A month ago the Mother sent out Omen to dispatch of the Mandalorians. He didn't return. Two weeks they waited before the Mother sent out Night-Sisters to discover what had happened. They didn't return either. A week ago a scout returned with news for the Witch of Dathomir. Omen, her son was coming. And he came as anger and fury incarnate.
Miles away from the Night-Sister home a young boy stood over a raging hot fire. The Mandalorian forge felt hotter than the sun on Raidens shin as he brought his hammer down. After the Mandalorian children left Raiden scoured the cave system and he found a treasure trove. As it was a place for training their were objects made of technology similar to that of a Jedi Holocron and Raiden used them to learn the secrets of the Mandalorian warriors.
He also used all the armour from the dead Mandalorians to make a new set of armour for himself. His was extremely different from the usual Mandalorian armour. I stress of having a full chest piece he had beskar protecting only the the top of his torso and his shoulders. He also had greaves to protect his legs. By following the Holocrons making these pieces of armour were quite simple. The difficult part however was the gauntlets.
Raiden spent countless days labouring over the Mandalorian forge making the gauntlets through trial and error before finally he finished. He was amazed that the Mandalorians could pack so much technology into such small spaces. Raiden had to sacrifice many gadgets just to make the gauntlet fictional, luckily much of the gadgets could be imitated through the force.
Raiden put the armour on over his dark robes, he strapped a rancor hide belt to around his waist, he placed his Crossguard Saber on his waist then his Shoto Saber. Finally ready to go he picked up his newest weapon, a blaster, Raiden spent hours at the workbench tampering with the blaster, he did so as much of the Mandalorian fighting styles he learnt featured blasters.
With his newest blaster secured in a holster strapped to his leg Raiden set off. He walked through the Mandalorian training equipment that he had put to use this past month and made his way to a Mandalorian ship. There were two remaining, one he would take to the Night-Mother, the other he would use to leave this planet. He entered one that was filled with crates that he had placed there. He opened one and found it full of explosives, taking a handful and putting them on his belt, then closing the crate and making his way to the cockpit.
—————————————————————————
It was the dead of night on Dathomir the planets four moons shining through the darkness. Ancient stone structures lined the cliff side as a Mandalorian drop ship sailed above the clouds. The ship was piloted by a single man. Shrouded in dark robes and beskar armour Raiden sat in the cockpit. He wasn't a very experienced pilot but he had done the simulations in the Jedi temple and so was able to fly to where the Night Mother had hidden.
It was a cliff side fortress. Ancient stone structures stood imposing and impenetrable. Wooden bridges and barricades crossed the great fortress bustling with activity. To get deep into the fortress to the Witch would take an army. Or Raiden could blow a hole in the entire place. Raiden began hitting buttons to prepare for the descent.
Below Night-Brothers began to shout as they noticed the rapidly approaching ship. The ship was turned towards the largest tower and Raiden opened the ships door and jumped out. The ship crashed into the tower causing a giant explosion destroying the tower entirely and sending large pieces of rubble all over. Night-Brothers were crushed beneath stone as the tower collapsed.
Raiden used the distraction to land safely in the main structure. He slowed his landing with the force and crashed through a window of the main building. Immediately he used the force to pull someone towards him. He used the Night-Brother as a shield blocking the many arrows shot at him before throwing the now dead Night-Brother at his advancing opponents.
With a force push Raiden sent a dozen Night-Brothers falling out the window to their death before finally calling his Shoto Saber to his hands with the force. With his Shoto Saber held in reverse grip Raiden began deflecting arrows. They were coming from a high ledge and at this moment he was glad to have brought his new blaster. He grabbed his blaster from its holster on his leg and allowed the force to guide his shots. Time slowed as he inhaled. He picked his targets. And on the exhale. He fired!
Red concentrated bolts of pure energy exploded from the blaster eight times. Each bolt hit tis mark. Two shots for each Night-Brother, twice in the chest and they fell from the ledge. But like ants they were replaced and again Raiden was forced in the defensive. Arrow after arrow was deflected and he did so easily but the longer he lingered in one spot the more danger he was in.
Thinking fast Raiden surveyed his surroundings. There was a part of the ledge that wasn't fully secure, but to use the force would leave him open to arrow fire. To add another layer of urgency Raiden could hear Night-Brothers ascending the staircase to his right. Trying to not panic and succumb to the pressure Raiden flicked a switch on his blaster causing a bright red glow to appear at the top of the barrel. A dark red bolt thundered from the blaster hitting true and sending a large chunk of rock down crushing the Night-Brothers on the ledge.
It went smoothly, too smoothly. A moment later cracks began to appear and part of the roof collapsed sealing the hallway which Raiden was about to go down. Making the situation worse was the sound of the Night-Brothers finally entering behind him. He turned to face them. Ready for the fight to come. With a twirl of both his weapons he now held his Shoto Saber in the standard grip, pointed out towards his approaching opponents and he held his blaster by the barrel.
As the first Night-Brother reached him Raiden lashed out with his Saber, the white blade cutting through his torso with viscous precision. Raiden dropped to his knees and twisted as he did so. This caused a large club that was swung at him to pass over his head and also allowed him to sever a Night-Brothers legs at the knees. This sent him to the ground, screaming in pain.
Raidens new blaster had a handle made of pure durasteel and so when Raiden proceeded to bash the handle into the head of a Night-Brother it caused the desired affect of crushing the skull of the unfortunate Night-Brother. By making use of his Shoto Saber, blaster, thermal charges, and the many tricks and gadgets hidden in his armour Raiden left Night-Brothers, Night-Sisters and chaos in his wake as he fought his way through the ancient temple. Deep underground he delved into the caves until at last he found himself in the chamber of the Night-Mother.
He entered the chamber and saw her looking over a basin of Spirit Ichor. The room seemed void of anyone else. His eyes told him that he finally had her alone. But his feelings said otherwise. A warning echoed through the force, there were others here, he could sense it. Raiden holstered his blaster and extinguished his Shoto Saber. He approached the basin of Spirit Ichor and looked at his 'Mother'.
"Omen my son you have returned at last, though not the way I expected." She said calmly, almost lovingly.
Raiden stared at her, her long limbs and skinny frame draped in red robes. Her sharp features conveyed motherly love but Raiden knew better, there was malice behind her eyes.
"My name is not Omen. I am Raiden Skywalker." Raiden said defiantly at the Witch
"Skywalker! Your words hurt me son! Say you do not mean them and all will be forgiven!" She snarled at him, showing her pointed teeth and urged him, trying to play his emotions as she had for years.
"You've taught me well these past years, to well!" He said raising his voice at her for the first time in two years.
Raiden grabbed a green crystal from around his neck. It glowed with the power of the Night-Sister magik, fuelled by the souls of the Night-Brothers he slain getting here. Recognition and horror filled Talzins face as Raiden threw the crystal into the basin causing a shockwave of green energy to explode out.
It sent the Mother to the ground with a grunt and dispersed the spell hid the Night-Sisters from his view. Now stood in the chamber was six of the best Dathomirian Witches, the most powerful in magik after the Mother herself. Two ignited Lightsabers from an age past while the others drew spell forged swords, enchanted to cause immense pain and to resist Lightsabers.
Raiden didn't even ignite his Lightsaber as he demolished the weakened Night-Sisters. Small panels opened on his shoulder and from those tiny openings shot four Whistling Birds, a deadly Mandalorian weapon. It only took a moment for two Night-Sisters to be dead. He raised his hand and from his gauntlet shot a sharp spinning disk that killed the third.
Raiden held his arms up in front of his face to block a strike from a Lightsaber and from his gauntlet erupted a blinding flash of light sending the Night-Sister with the blue blade staggering backwards. A short burst of green Lightning exploded from his fingers killing the Night-Sister.
Grabbing his blaster he shot three blaster bolts at the Night-Sister with green Lightsaber. The first was deflected, the second hit her shoulder and the third her head. It was then the Night-Mother finally stumbled to her feet. Raiden used the force to pull the final Night-Sister to him and used her as a shield against the glowing blade of energy the Witch threw.
"NOOO!!! MY DAUGHTER!!!" Talzin screamed in anguish and Raiden wondered if this was the first time he'd heard real emotion from her, not some lie, but then again it could be fake and she could be trying to manipulate him.
"You once told me to forget the past, kill it if I had to" Raiden said calmly to her as he used the force to call the two Lightsabers to his hands.
"You're the past now." He ignited them
"I won't forget." He stood over her
"But I'll kill it if I have to!" He swung down...
And met nothing but air
She disappeared into a cloud of green mist, formless, shapeless she screamed in agony and fled the ancient temple as it collapsed around her. Raiden clipped the recovered Lightsabers to his belt and fled the temple as it crumbled around him. She had survived but he had killed the highest ranking members of their culture, and as much as he hated to admit it. He was tired, he needed rest. He needed home.
