Body Swap Blues

FADE IN:

EXT. THE LOUD HOUSE - DAY

We see the exterior of the Loud House, a big and colorful house with ten kids living inside. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping.

CUT TO:

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Lincoln and Lori are sitting at the kitchen table, drinking milk from a carton. Suddenly, they start feeling dizzy and fall unconscious.

CUT TO:

INT. LISA'S ROOM - DAY

Lincoln and Lori wake up, confused and disoriented. They look around and realize they have switched bodies.

LINCOLN: (shocked) What the heck happened?

LORI: (surprised) Why am I in your body?

LINCOLN: (yelling) Lisa! Lisa! What did you do?

They storm out of the room and head to Lisa's room.

CUT TO:

INT. LISA'S ROOM - DAY

Lisa is sitting at her desk, surrounded by beakers, test tubes and other scientific equipment.

LINCOLN: (yelling) Lisa! What did you do to us?

LISA: (apologetic) I'm sorry, Lincoln. I was just trying out a new experiment.

LORI: (yelling) A new experiment? Are you kidding me? You switched our bodies!

LISA: (calmly) I know, I know. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen.

LINCOLN: (angry) Mom told you not to do this sort of thing again!

LISA: (defensive) I know, but I thought I had everything under control.

LORI: (frustrated) Well, you clearly didn't! Now we're stuck like this!

LISA: (apologetic) I'm trying to find an antidote, but it might take a while.

LINCOLN: (mad) A while? How long is that supposed to be?

LISA: (uncertain) I don't know, it could be a few days, maybe even a week.

LORI: (yelling) A week? Are you kidding me? I can't be in Lincoln's body for a whole week!

LINCOLN: (yelling) And I can't be in Lori's body for a whole week!

LISA: (calmly) I know it's not ideal, but I promise I'll find a solution as soon as possible.

Lincoln and Lori are still mad, but they start to calm down.

LINCOLN: (sighing) Okay, fine. But you better find that antidote soon.

LORI: (nodding) Yeah, we can't live like this forever.

LISA: (smiling) I'll do my best.

CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Lincoln and Lori, still in each other's bodies, sit on the couch, looking sad and frustrated.

LINCOLN: (sighing) This is so weird.

LORI: (nodding) I know. I feel like I don't even know how to be Lincoln.

LINCOLN: (smiling) Well, at least we're not alone.

LORI: (smiling) Yeah, I guess you're right.

They both sit in silence for a moment, looking at each other.

LINCOLN: (laughing) You know, you look pretty funny as me.

LORI: (laughing) And you look pretty funny as me.

They both laugh and the scene fades out.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN:

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Lincoln and Lori are still sitting on the couch, looking sad and frustrated. Suddenly, Lori's face lights up.

LORI: (remembering) Oh no! I have a date with Bobby this weekend.

LINCOLN: (surprised) What? How are you going to go on a date when you're in my body?

LORI: (sadly) I can't. But you can.

LINCOLN: (confused) What do you mean?

LORI: (determined) Bobby doesn't know what I look like, so if you pose as me, he won't even notice.

LINCOLN: (doubtful) I don't know, Lori. Pretending to be you is one thing, but going on a date with your boyfriend is a whole other thing.

LORI: (pleading) Please, Lincoln. I don't want to miss this date. I really like Bobby, and I don't want to mess things up.

LINCOLN: (sighing) Okay, fine. But you owe me big time.

LORI: (grateful) Thank you, Lincoln. You're the best.

CUT TO:

INT. LORI'S BEDROOM - DAY

Lincoln, now dressed in Lori's clothes and wearing a wig, is getting ready for the date. He looks in the mirror, feeling nervous and self-conscious.

LINCOLN: (to himself) This is so weird. I can't believe I'm doing this.

LORI: (off-screen) (encouraging) You got this, Lincoln. Just be yourself. Or, you know, be me.

Lincoln takes a deep breath and heads out of the room.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE MALL - DAY

Lincoln, as Lori, is walking through the mall, looking around nervously. He spots Bobby, who is waiting for "Lori" outside a clothing store.

BOBBY: (excited) Hey, Lori! You look great!

LINCOLN: (nervously) Uh, thanks, Bobby. You look great too.

BOBBY: (surprised) Is everything okay, Lori? You seem a little... different.

LINCOLN: (trying to act cool) What do you mean? I'm always like this.

BOBBY: (smiling) Okay, well, let's go grab some lunch.

Lincoln and Bobby head to a nearby restaurant.

CUT TO:

INT. RESTAURANT - DAY

Lincoln and Bobby are sitting at a table, looking at the menu.

BOBBY: (smiling) So, how's school going, Lori?

LINCOLN: (trying to sound like Lori) Oh, you know, it's fine. Nothing too exciting.

BOBBY: (curious) What have you been up to lately?

LINCOLN: (nervously) Oh, you know, just hanging out with my friends and stuff.

BOBBY: (smiling) That's cool. I've been working at the mall a lot lately, so I haven't had much time for anything else.

LINCOLN: (sympathetic) That sucks. I'm sure you'll find some free time soon.

BOBBY: (smiling) Thanks, Lori. You always know how to make me feel better.

Lincoln starts to feel more comfortable in Lori's body and starts to enjoy the date.

CUT TO:

INT. LOUD HOUSE - NIGHT

Lincoln, still in Lori's body, and Bobby walk into the living room.

BOBBY: (smiling) Thanks for a great time, Lori. I had a lot of fun.

LINCOLN: (trying to act like Lori) Me too, Bobby. Let's do it again sometime.

Bobby and "Lori" hug. Lincoln feels a little awkward but tries to play it cool.

BOBBY: (smiling) See you later, Lori.

LINCOLN: (smiling) Bye, Bobby.

As Bobby leaves, Lincoln heads inside the house, where Lori is waiting for him.

LORI: (anxiously) How did it go? Was it okay?

LINCOLN: (smiling) Yeah, it was actually kind of fun. Bobby's a cool guy.

LORI: (hugging Lincoln) Thank you so much for doing this, Lincoln. I owe you big time.

LINCOLN: (laughing) Yeah, you do. But don't worry about it. It was no big deal.

Lori looks relieved and happy, and Lincoln can't help but feel a sense of pride that he was able to help his sister out.

CUT TO:

INT. LISA'S ROOM - DAY

Lincoln, now back in his own body, and Lori are standing in Lisa's room, watching her work on an antidote.

LISA: (frustrated) I'm sorry, guys. I'm doing everything I can to find an antidote, but it's just not that simple.

LINCOLN: (impatient) How long is this going to take? I don't want to be stuck in Lori's body forever.

LORI: (worried) And I can't do in Lincoln's body either.

LISA: (apologetic) I understand. But science takes time. I'll keep working on it, and hopefully, we'll have an antidote soon.

Lincoln and Lori sigh, knowing that they just have to be patient and trust that Lisa will figure things out.

FADE OUT.

CUT TO:

INT. LOUD HOUSE - DAY

Lori, in Lincoln's body, is walking down the hallway when Lynn, her younger sister and a sports enthusiast, approaches her.

LYNN: Hey, bro. You ready to do some training?

LORI (as Lincoln): (sighing) Yeah, sure.

LYNN: Great. I need to practice tackling, and you're the perfect dummy for it.

LORI (as Lincoln): (nervously) Wait, what? I don't think that's a good idea.

LYNN: (rolling her eyes) Come on, bro. You're tough, you can handle it.

Lori, still in Lincoln's body, reluctantly agrees and goes along with the training session. As Lynn tackles, bodies, and beats her up, Lori begins to realize how tough Lincoln has it as the only brother and the middle child in the family.

LORI (thinking to herself): (voice-over) Wow, I never realized how rough Lincoln has it. Being the only boy in a family with ten sisters can't be easy.

After the training session is over, Lori, still in Lincoln's body, walks back to her room, deep in thought.

LORI (as Lincoln): (to herself) I need to start appreciating Lincoln more. He puts up with so much and still manages to keep a positive attitude.

CUT TO:

INT. LOUD HOUSE - DAY

Meanwhile, Lincoln, still in Lori's body, is in the living room with Leni, his fashion-obsessed older sister.

LENI: (holding up a pink dress) So, what do you think of this one?

LINCOLN (as Lori): (uninterested) Uh, I don't know. It's pink?

LENI: (sighing) Come on, Lori. You have to look perfect for your date with Bobby this weekend.

LINCOLN (as Lori): (rolling his eyes) Yeah, I know.

As Lincoln, still in Lori's body, goes through the process of trying on different outfits and dealing with Leni's fashion advice, he begins to realize how much Lori goes through just to look good for her boyfriend.

LINCOLN (thinking to himself): (voice-over) I had no idea how much effort Lori puts into looking good for Bobby. She deserves some credit for that.

CUT TO:

INT. LOUD HOUSE - DAY

Later that day, Lori and Lincoln are back in their respective rooms, thinking about their experiences of being in each other's bodies.

LORI (thinking to herself): (voice-over) I need to be more patient with Lincoln and try to understand what he goes through.

LINCOLN (thinking to himself): (voice-over) I need to start appreciating Lori more and all the effort she puts in to look good for Bobby.

As the day comes to a close, Lori and Lincoln both realize the importance of understanding and appreciating each other's struggles, despite being in each other's bodies due to Lisa's experiment.

FADE OUT.

LIVING ROOM

Lincoln and Lori sit together on the couch, still in each other's bodies. They both seem a bit exhausted and worn out from the day's events.

Lincoln: (sighs) You know, I never realized how much work it takes to be Lori. I mean, I knew she had a lot on her plate, but actually living her life for a day has been eye-opening.

LORI: (nods) Same here. Being you is not as easy as I thought. I didn't realize how much pressure you feel being the only brother in the family, always trying to keep everyone happy.

LINCOLN: (laughs) Yeah, and dealing with my crazy sisters and their antics is not a walk in the park either.

LORI: I'm sorry I took you for granted, Lincoln. I never realized how hard you have it.

LINCOLN: (smiling back) It's okay, Lori. I'm sorry too. I never realized how much you do for us and how important you are to our family.

They both share a heartfelt hug, and a moment of silence.

LORI: (after the hug) We should try to be more respectful to each other from now on, and appreciate the things we do for each other.

LINCOLN: (nods) Agreed. And let's keep this body swap thing between us. I don't want to worry Mom and Dad or have Lisa experiment on us again.

LORI: (nods) Definitely. We'll have to figure out a way to switch back, though.

LINCOLN: (sighs) Yeah, Lisa said it might take a while. But we'll figure it out. Together.

They share another hug as the camera fades to black.

INT. LOUD HOUSE - LIVING ROOM

Lincoln and Lori sit together on the couch, looking relieved and happy. Lisa enters the room holding a small vial of liquid.

LISA Good news, I finally found the antidote! Drink this and you'll be back in your own bodies.

Lincoln and Lori take the vial from her and drink the liquid. A bright light surrounds them, and when it fades, they both look down at themselves, relieved to see that they're back in their own bodies.

LINCOLN (relieved) Finally! I can't believe we were stuck in each other's bodies for so long.

LORI (smiling) Yeah, it feels good to be back to normal.

They share a long hug, happy to be back in their own skin.

LINCOLN (turns to Lisa) And no more experiments, Lisa! You promised.

LISA (nodding) Yes, I promise. I won't experiment on you guys again.

LORI (teasingly) Unless you need some volunteers, Lincoln?

They all laugh, happy to be back to normal.

CUT TO:

INT. LOUD HOUSE - LINCOLN'S ROOM

Lori sits on Lincoln's bed, flipping through one of his comic books. She seems to be thoroughly enjoying herself, chuckling at the jokes and admiring the art.

LINCOLN (OS)
(walking in) Hey Lori, what are you doing?

LORI (smiling) Just checking out your comics. I never realized how interesting they are.

LINCOLN (surprised) Really? I didn't think you'd be into that kind of thing.

LORI (scoffing) Hey, don't judge a book by its cover. Or in this case, a comic by its illustrations.

They both share a laugh, happy to have a newfound appreciation for each other's interests and hobbies.

The End
