Chapter 5: The Final Battle

At the same airport where, until recently, Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars believed to have killed Jadeite, they, along with Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, Tuxedo Mask, Raven and Starfire, were waiting for Queen Beryl and her allies to show up. It wasn't a long wait.

"So you came." Queen Beryl maliciously said. With her were the DD Girls, Kunzite, Zoisite and, to the Senshi's surprise, Jadeite. "Jadeite?" Sailors Moon, Mercury and Mars asked in shock.

"I see the Eternal Sleep isn't as eternal as its name suggests." Sailor Moon commented.

"You know about that, Tsukino Usagi?" Jadeite was surprised but not to the point he'd pass up a chance to remind everyone that he knew Sailor Moon's identity.

"Their identities no longer matter, Jadeite." Queen Beryl said. "DD Girls, take down Princess Karasu and her orange-skinned companion while my Generals defeat the Senshi."

While the DD Girls fought Raven and Starfire, Kunzite instructed Jadeite and Zoisite. "Zoisite, you fight Sailor Jupiter; I'll fight Sailor Venus; Jadeite, try to have better luck with the others than you did last time."

"Yes, Sir!" Both Jadeite and Zoisite replied at the same time.

Jadeite approached Sailors Moon, Mercury, and Mars and then noticed something odd. "Sailor Moon, why do you have something that looks like the Silver Crystal?" Jadeite asked.

"Because it is the Silver Crystal, Jadeite." Sailor Moon replied, shocking Queen Beryl.

"Impossible!" Queen Beryl shouted in outrage. "To be able to wield its power, you'd have to be..."

"Princess Serenity." Sailor Moon finished her sentence and her Sailor outfit once again turned into a Princess' dress.

"YOU!" Queen Beryl was angrier than ever. "Jadeite, focus on Mercury and Mars. I'll deal with the boyfriend-stealer myself."

"My Queen." Jadeite was concerned over his boss' well-being.

"OBEY ME!" Queen Beryl demanded and Jadeite was too afraid to disobey her.

"Yes, Queen Beryl." Jadeite obeyed her.

"Princess Serenity, you'll pay for stealing my Prince Endymion." Queen Beryl said.

"Endymion was never yours, Queen Beryl." Sailor Moon replied and frowned. "You brainwashed his Generals into serving you and helping you take over several worlds. In name of the Moon, I'll punish you."

"In name of the Dark Kingdom, I will punish you for stealing Prince Endymion." Queen Beryl replied.

"I wasn't stolen, Beryl." Tuxedo Mask said.

"What do you mean 'you'?" Queen Beryl asked in confusion and Tuxedo Mask took off his mask. "Endymion?"

"In the flesh." Tuxedo Mask replied while positioning himself next to Sailor Moon.

"Endymion, don't you realize that, had you married me, you'd be a King?" Queen Beryl asked in frustration.

"Being a King isn't worth the war you started, Queen Beryl." Tuxedo Mask explained.

"You'll pay for this." Queen Beryl said as she sent a dark beam at Tuxedo Mask but Sailor Moon blocked it. "You cannot block my power forever, Princess Serenity." She was and was then hit by the head of the Red DD Girl.

"She doesn't have to." Raven replied.

Meanwhile, Kunzite was holding Sailor Venus' love chain. "Impossible!" Sailor Venus exclaimed. "I thought only Princess Karasu could do that."

"You will die now, Sailor Venus." Kunzite said.

"No, she will NOT!" Starfire said as she started hitting Kunzite with her green bolts.

"Be careful, Starfire." Raven said. "Remember he and the other Generals are just under Queen Beryl's mind control."

"LIAR!" Queen Beryl shouted and tried to kill Raven, who blocked the attack. Sailor Moon took advantage of that distraction to deliver the final blow to the villain.

"My Queen!" The Generals screamed in terror. Raven took advantage of it to enter their minds.

Hours later, Sailor Moon was giving an interview about how the Queen of the evil forces was destroyed trying to kill the Senshi. A reporter named Tsukino Kenji raised his hand. "Sailor Moon, is the Senshi's alliance with the Teen Titans temporary or are you joining them?" Tsukino Kenji asked.

"It's temporary." Sailor Moon answered, feeling awkward about answering Senshi questions to her father.

"Was Brushogun involved with Queen Beryl?" Another reporter asked and drew glares from the others.

"There's no evidence suggesting that." Sailor Moon answered.

After the interview ended, Sailor Moon met the other Senshi and their friends at Rei's home. "Are you sure it's okay to let the Shittenou go, Luna?" Rei asked.

"Without Queen Beryl's brainwashing and the powers that came with it, they're harmless, Rei." Luna explained.

"So, what do we do now?" Usagi asked.

"You and your friends can resume your normal lives until a new enemy appears or you're old enough to restore the Moon Kingdom, Usagi." Luna answered.

"As a Teen Titan and a Princess of the Moon Kingdom, I'm willing to help." Raven said.

"We'll understand if you're busy fighting other enemies by then, Princess Karasu." Luna replied, still not trusting Raven but afraid of being openly hostile after Sailor Moon's scolding.

Starfire's communicator beeped. "Starfire, Raven, we need you both back in Jump City!" Robin exclaimed. "Slade returned!"

"We're on our way, Robin." Starfire replied.

"I'm going with you." Sailor Venus added and then looked at Usagi. "With your permission, my Princess."

"Permission granted." Usagi replied.

"Is there really a point in restoring the Moon Kingdom?" Ami asked after Minako, Starfire and Raven left.

"We must restore the Mook Kingdom before Princess Karasu makes one of her own." Luna said. "She might be a good regent for war times but Princess Serenity is a better Queen for peace times."

"I don't think she wants to rule the Moon Kingdom, Luna." Usagi said. "She said she only proclaimed herself as regent because it was necessary to make you accept her help."

"We'll see about that." Luna stated.

As days passed without the Sailor Senshi or Tuxedo Mask needing to transform, they resumed their normal lives with no incidents other than a teacher named Sakurada Haruna accusing Tsukino Usagi of cheating at an English test. "Ms. Haruna, I didn't cheat." Usagi defended herself.

"Do you really expect me to believe you suddenly became good enough at English to ace a test?" Ms. Haruna asked in English expecting her not to understand.

"Ms. Haruna, I understand your skepticism but I'm really that good now." Usagi reassured her teacher in English, shocking not only her but also the other students. Especially those who, like Miss Haruna, spoke English.

Shocked, Miss Haruna kept having a conversation in English until she was convinced Usagi had really improved her English. "Congratulations, Usagi." Ms. Haruna said with a happy smile. "I always believed in you."

"Yeah, right." Usagi muttered in English.

"Don't push your luck, young lady." Ms. Haruna firmly ordered her student.

Later on, as Usagi went back home, her mother insisted on calling Ms. Haruna to confirm that Usagi didn't cheat and only then allowed Usagi in. "Mom, if you will react like that every time I improve my grades, perhaps I shouldn't keep improving them." Usagi commented.

Incensed by that commented, Usagi's mother grabbed her by the ear. "NEVER JOKE ABOUT THAT EVER AGAIN, UNDERSTOOD?"

"Yes, Mom." Usagi meekly replied and then went to her room. There, she discussed things with Luna.

"Well, Raven did say she couldn't speak Japanese before regaining her memories of being Princess Karasu, Usagi." The moon cat commented. "It's possible that, when it happened, you got some of her knowledge of English."

"Or maybe it was from the Moon Kingdom." Usagi theorized. "How good was I in English in my former life as Princess Serenity?"

"Usagi, nobody spoke English back then." Luna stated as a matter of fact. "I'm still amazed Earth had enough records of our language for it to be adapted by a modern nation."

Usagi then looked at her watch. "Oh, my God! Look at the time! I must be ready for a date with Mamoru!"

"Isn't he dating Rei?" Luna asked.

"Not anymore, remember?" Usagi replied. "She's now dating that boy who recently joined her family's shrine."

One change of clothes later, Usagi went to the park to meet Mamoru. Naru and Masato (who insisted on no longer being called "Nephryte" because of everything that name was associated with) were also there since it was supposed to be a double date. As they walked by, they chanced upon Ms. Haruna. One awkward conversation later, the teacher walked away from the two couples. 'What do those girls have that I don't?' She angrily thought.

After the double date was over, Tsukino Usagi was convinced her fighting days were over.
