Bony Boy goes to JJK World
-Lots of spoilers on JJK read at your own risk.-
Thirty minutes before the poison spread throughout the second layer.
Megumi's pov
After Gojo went to the second layer, both of his teammates, Megumi and Nobora were left behind to fend for themselves. They quickly followed their leader and teleported to the second layer but without the aid of their map.
While the curses of the second layer were considerably stronger than the ones from the first layer, Megumi and Nobara were able to coordinate well and eliminate the monsters without sustaining any injuries. The shikigami, Divine Dog: Totality, was enough to clear a path through the undead. One swipe of its claws was stronger than the tower shield's defenses, which left the Death Knights without any means to protect themselves from the long-range attacks dealt by Nobara.
The Death Warriors and Redcap goblins actually posed a bigger threat to them, since they had many options when it came to bypassing defensive maneuvers but no way to recover from damage, Megumi and Nobara had to fight very carefully and move slowly through the maze. The combination of no invitation and possibly being caught off guard by the occasional redcap goblin caused them to become very paranoid.
Nobara threw nails and insults at anything that looked like a curse, even things like a simple shadow on the corner or the flickering of the candles caused her to jump and attack. It was a very annoying thing to contend with and any time Megumi asked her to be quiet... she would scream and threaten him instead of the enemy standing near them.
While walking along this type of terrain in enemy territory, information was key. Megumi had his mission in mind, so ultimately he knew that any detail that he could figure out about the maze or the enemy could be the difference between their victory or their defeat. Now that they were on the second layer, it was even more important than before.
This was the layer where they were supposed to block the advance of the enemy players, something that neither Megumi nor Nobara had much time to learn about. They knew that most if not all of the players would be either first-grade, special-grade, or have some sort of broken ability that justified their inclusion in this game. That was the biggest problem for Megumi, who liked to learn as much as he could about their opponents before the fight.
Nobara was also on the same boat as Megumi. She didn't let it show on her face, choosing to hide behind a facade of confidence and a relaxed posture making a lot of noise with her footsteps and even hitting the wall with her hammer from time to time, in an attempt to intimidate the curses. But while she walked with a wide stride, allowing her shoulders and arms to swing as much as they wanted to, Megumi took small steps with a very closed-off and tight stance. Even though he had his Divine Dog who had yet to let any curse approach sneak up on them, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something lurked in the shadows.
They spent nearly 20 minutes walking around the maze blindly until Megumi was finally able to figure out some sort of method that allowed them to not walk in circles and soon afterward, they were standing in front of the door leading to the third layer.
Megumi quickly entered the room while telling Nobara to keep watch in the corridor. He looked around the place and took notice of the state of the room. 'Three bodies? No guardian... Gojo must have already moved to the third layer. Which means the mission is going as planned.' Megumi thought. He quickly walked over to the bodies to confirm their identities and after seeing that everyone from the Zennin group was killed he turned to the door.
Just before he walked through it, Megumi noticed blood coming from a corner of the wall next to the door. He quickly went to it and touched the stone tiles. The tiles wiggled a bit as soon as his hand touched them which told Megumi what he wanted. 'Secret room?! ' Megumi thought as he quickly pulled the tile back revealing a side room.
But instead of the treasure, all that was there in the room was the corpse of another group. Megumi didn't recognize these ones though, he simply placed the tile back and walked away. "The path to the third layer is clear. Gojo's probably already gone through by now." Megumi told Nobara as he walked by her.
"I see... " Nobara said as she started throwing her hammer up and catching it once it came down. "So our mission is a go then. Just ambush anyone trying in this layer? " Nobara asked Megumi who was scratching his chin.
"We need to create a base for us on this floor. A place where we can rest, eat, and heal. Ideally, it would be close to the guardian's room and allow for a quick escape if we need it. "Megumi said as he turned around to Nobara. "The enemy teams are most likely very close by and it's safe to assume that they want to move on to the third layer as fast as they can. Some of them might already have what we know. We need to be careful now and build a huge group with everyone that's left so that we can defend this layer."
"If an enemy team moved to the third layer, we have to pursue them. After we cross to the next layer, not only this new group will be lost, but we will not be able to stay together since Gojo has the invitation." Nobara said as she cracked her neck and scratched her face.
"That might not even be necessary if Gojo was able to get a good lead, but it's good to keep that possibility in mind. There's no way of knowing if we're gonna have to run to the third layer after all." Megumi said as he started thinking about their options.
They walked around for a few minutes, checking the rooms and side paths while creating a mental map. After a while, they had the surrounding area's layout in their mind and could quickly run around that portion of the maze without getting lost. Once they did a small surveillance of the area they finally chose a good spot to rest.
Megumi pressed his hand against his shadow and pulled out his supplies from it. Thanks to his Ten Shadows power, he was the one carrying the bulk of everyone's supplies. Nobara quickly walked over and took a bottle of water and the Divine Dog melted back into Megumi's shadow.
"Keep watch, Nobara. I have to rest a bit. " Megumi said as he closed his eyes and allowed his tense shoulders to relax.
Nobara, however, didn't take kindly to that request. She quickly stopped drinking the water and said, "I'm tired too. You take the first shift. " Unknown to Megumi, Nobara was even tenser than he was during their time inside Ainz's Domain and thus, she used a lot more energy than Megumi had predicted.
Of course, Nobara couldn't just say that she was tired too which meant that she had to argue with him. Megumi ignored Nobara's attempts to complain and simply continued to sleep after a few minutes. She gave up.
Nobara stood guard and closely watched the entrances to the room. It was a large place compared to the rooms surrounding the guardian's place, but unlike the other locations, this one had a table and a chair. Torture devices were displayed on top of the desk, things like a wooden structure to hold someone were present at a wall, and knives, scissors, and nails were spread on the table for anyone to see. It was obvious what that room was, but even so, Megumi chose it to be their base thanks to the three doors which lead to completely different corridors.
It was a double-edged sword, however, it meant that it was harder to ambush and isolate them in that room since they could escape to different sectors of the maze, but it also increased the chances that an enemy could show up. Nobara had three different paths equally as dangerous and likely to act as the enemy's entry point to keep watch.
After a few minutes of nothing happening, Nobara finally heard someone walking up to one of the doors. She quickly threw the water bottle at Megumi, who got hit in the face, and then prepared to attack. The footsteps got louder and louder, and both of them were able to figure out that the footsteps belonged to multiple people.
Megumi placed his hand together to summon his Divine Dog and shouted, "Are you jujutsu sorcerers? " This made Nobara very angry. Megumi just announced his presence which fucked over Nobara's plan of an ambush.
Unlike her, Megumi had no intentions of ambushing whoever was coming through that door. In his mind, he didn't think that he was strong enough to ambush anyone who could survive until now.
Nobara was about to go psycho mode on Megumi, but the replay forced her to calm down, "Yes. " An old voice spoke. After a few moments, they had visual confirmation of the group.
Gakuganji was the first to walk into the room, followed by Kamo and then Todo. "Yo, Megumi. It's been a while. " Todo said as he quickly walked over to the supplies and grabbed an energy bar. "I'm glad we found you. "
Kamo shook his head before saying, "Can't you even wait until after we talk a bit before you go for the food. " They had a similar goal in mind and were trying to find a good place to set up the base for the students who would remain in the second layer, but unlike Megumi and Nobara, Kamo had a map of the area which allowed him to easily find the room where they were standing.
Gakuganji placed his guitar pick in his pocket and walked over to the supply right after Todo and asked, "Did you bring any tea? " Kamo shook his head yet again, but this time didn't say anything.
"Hey! That's my food. " Nobara screamed while running to the supply bags. She placed her hand in front of Gakuganji and quickly snatched the bar from Todo. "If you want some. You'll have to stand guard first."
"That's their supply too, Nobara. In fact, most of the food here was bought with Principal Gakuganji's money. " Megumi said as he face palmed. That revelation caused Nobara quickly change tones, she showed an awkward smile before giving back the bar to Todo and offering a can of iced tea to Gakuganji.
"My food, your food... that's not something that teammates should be saying to each other. Here, it's our food. " Nobara said while offering the supplies to Kamo's team.
Todo raised an eyebrow before grabbing the bar and walking toward one of the entrance points. "Thanks for the tea. " Gakuganji said. He quickly opened the can and walked over to one of the exits.
"Very nice of you commanded Nobara, now let's focus on this room secure, okay. " Todo said as he started guarding one of the exits. Gakuganji also did the same and soon after Nobara went back to guard duty too.
The room was now safe which allowed Kamo and Megumi to start sharing information. They talked about what happened and quickly filled in the information relevant to the mission.
Kamo talked about the person from the enemy team that they had captured. Not only his team had destroyed another team with the help of Mei Mei, but he also got some information about the rest of the competition.
"Geto is alive and he's the head of the curse teams. He probably aided Ainz with the creation of this Domain and also helped out with the attack at the Interschool even. We have no idea, but he could also have something to do with Mechamaru's disappearance." Kamo concluded the report.
'They have a special grade sorcerer that was once comparable with Gojo. ' Megumi thought as his mind struggled to understand the existence of Geto. Until then, he thought that Geto was dead, but now he knew exactly why Gojo asked for them to stall the enemy team at the second layer.
"Why didn't he enter the domain right away? Does he think that he can catch up with Gojo? " Megumi asked.
"Either that, but most likely he has another part to play. Yuki was blocked off as a player so there's a good chance that the Curse and Geto have something planned out. It's only a matter of time before he shows up though, so we'll know eventually. " Gakuganji said as he finished drinking his tea and placed the bottle on the floor.
It was now time for Megumi to quickly explain the guardian's situation. He told them about the path to the third layer being open and that Gojo already went through it. "Good, so all we need is to protect the path then. " Todo said as he got up and started walking away from the room.
"Wait, Todo. I'll go with you. " Kamo said as he started walking with him.
"Don't go to the third layer yet, Kamo. Not until we have a good group step up in the second layer." Gakuganji said which caused Kamo to hesitate for a moment. Kamo stopped walking for just a second before he continued walking.
"Don't worry, principal. I'm not crazy enough to face the deeper levels without my team. " Kamo said as he tried to convince himself that he wasn't getting impatient. The revelation that a special-grade sorcerer Geto was working with Ainz and his past with Gojo caused Kamo to start doubting whether leaving this whole thing with Gojo was a good idea.
That, however, was something that he didn't have the time or the resources to fix and so Kamo placed that concern deep within his mind and continued walking alongside Todo.
Megumi, Nobara, and Gakuganji stayed behind to protect their new base. While Todo and Kamo went to protect the path to the third layer.
Dagon's pov
With Jogo's death and Grasshopper doing whatever he wanted, Dagon was the only one in his team that still had the goal in mind... and also the map too. It took a good amount of time before he understood where he was to go and which path he needed to take.
During the walk, however, he ended up activating a teleportation trap which lead him into a basement-like location. Corpses of multiple people were there filling the room with a strong stench of blood, but Dagon didn't care about it.
He quickly glanced over the bodies before he noticed one of them getting up. Dagon spans a stream of water that sliced through the undead's head killing it instantly. The others started raising soon after forcing Dagon to deal with the dozens of weak zombies that were there.
Once he had cleared the place, Dagon started looking for a way out, but after looking for a few seconds he finally realized that there were no doors, windows, or any other pathway that lead out of that place.
Dagon was about to attack the walls themselves to create his escape route when a pathway opened. One of the walls moved slightly revealing a Death Knight who immediately entered the room, soon after that, many other Death Knights and Death Warriors stormed into the room.
He tried to escape using the path that the Death Knights were coming from, but a weird barrier kept him from escaping which forced Dagon to fight. After a stream of water, punch, kick, and the odd hit that he couldn't dodge he was done. It took Dagon many minutes to clear out the location, but when he finally destroyed the last curse another path opened. It was a different pathway from where the Death Knights were coming from, but Dagon had no other option.
Dagon followed the corridor while trying to figure out where he was on the map, but unfortunately, he was having a lot of trouble doing so. After walking a few extra minutes, he finally found a room that seemed to correspond with one from the map.
He walked into it and saw a bunch of terrified humans standing around the room. The humans quickly started pleading for their lives, some were quiet and just moved away while trying to look small, others were a lot more in your face with their requests as they kneeled on the floor, but Dagon that didn't matter.
Dagon just unleashed his cursed technique in the room and killed everyone in there. After the room became quiet, he simply continued to walk forward following the map until he ran into another player.
"A curse?! Goddamit! " Yaga said as he quickly prepared for the fight. He had his mouth and nose covered with blood and he was also carrying Ino on his back.
Dagon quickly went on attack mode and jumped toward the group, he was aiming for Yaga when a small creature jumped from Yaga's back and grabbed his face. "Hold him! " Yaga screamed as he dashed even faster than before and slipped under Dagon who missed his attack by a few meters.
Yaga was forced to run to where Dagon was coming from leaving the only pathway leading to the third layer, but he didn't know about that. In his mind, there was bound to be another corridor to even if he continued running in that direction.
Dagon quickly grabbed the cursed doll from his face and threw it as hard as it could. The doll hit the wall, but instead of just getting damaged, the doll recovered rather quickly and jumped to block the pathway where Yaga was. Dagon knew that they were heading into a dead end and quickly decided to end them.
He was so eager to kill the jujutsu sorcerers that he didn't notice the blood coming out of his eyes nor the blood coming out of his nose. Dagon didn't even question why the jujutsu sorcerers were so injured. The only thing in his mind was the doll and the enemy's running behind it.
