A/N: This has been on hiatus for quite a while.. Sorry... I haven't written much these days, but some nice reviews might change that :3

"March is such a boring month," Gazzy said.

"I know," Nudge sighed. "The next holiday is in, like, five years." She was watching Angel color half-heartedly, her uneven purple strokes spilling out of the pony's body.

"We could make some new ones," suggested the Gasman. Nudge looked at him.

"Hey, good idea!" she grabbed Angel's paper and turned it around. Angel didn't even protest. "Ideas?"

"Gasman appreciation day."

"Bother Fang day."

"Birdkid Olympics."

"When should they be, though?" Angel asked.

"How about today?" Gazzy suggested.

"This is going to be fun," Nudge said, rubbing her hands together evilly.

"Hold me up, I can't see," Gazzy whispered.

"No," both girls said at the same time, craning their necks to see into the kitchen where the unsuspecting Fang currently was.

"It's Gasman appreciation day…" Gazzy trailed off meaningfully.

Nudge ducked out of the crack in the door, and gestured wildly to her shoulders.

"WHAT?" Gazzy whispered loudly.

Nudge put a finger to her lips, and frantically tapped her own shoulders. Gazzy thought she looked like she was fanning herself. The perfect look of confusion on his face, Gazzy walked over and tapped her shoulders.

"NO!" Nudge whisper-yelled.

Gazzy began to hit her shoulders harder.

"OW!" Nudge yelled. She shoved Gazzy, who reacted with a roundhouse kick, sending them both crashing towards the couch.

Fang walked in and mildly assessed the situation. Angel was smiling all too widely, trying to edge away from the scene, and Nudge and Gazzy were wrestling near an overturned couch.

"You guys okay?" he asked calmly.

"Yup, fine, no need to stay too long, now back in the kitchen," Angel said, ushering him out. "Be quiet, you two!" she admonished, getting near Nudge and Gazzy.

An ear-splitting scream filled the two-storey house. Gazzy stood up and Nudge forgot about punching Gazzy. "IGGY!" Fang roared. Angel looked back at the kitchen just in time to see Iggy crawling out of the fridge and running into the living room.

"That was awesome!" Iggy said, high-fiving Gazzy. He climbed out onto the window-ledge. "I'm gonna disappear for a few hours." He saluted and jumped out, flapping his wings in time to fly off before he even touched the ground.

"IGGY! I WILL MURDER YOU!"

"Positions!" Nudge hissed.

Fang ran into the living room, looking for Iggy. Instead, he saw Angel, Nudge and Gazzy. They were the picture of innocence. Angel was drawing on a scrap of paper, Nudge was reading a book quietly on the couch, and Gazzy was playing with his toy car.

They barely looked up when he entered the room, fuming. "Anyone seen Iggy?" he said, trying to keep his voice pleasant.

"Nope," Angel said, opening her eyes wide. Fang looked at her for a second, and her breath hitched, though Nudge was thinking at her to stay quiet.

He finally looked away, and walked out of the living room. They all let out a breath they'd been holding. Nudge held up her paper. "Bother Fang day, check. Now for the Birdkid Olympics…"

Bored. What a funny word. You know when you say a word too much; it starts feeling weird, like a word you've never heard before, like it's made up? It starts losing all meaning and you wonder which idiot came up with such a weird word.

Bored. Board. Bored. Boar-duh.

"Max?"

I snapped out of it, looking up at Ella.

"Huh?"

"Isn't this a perfect shade?"

"What?" I asked, shaking my head to clear it.

"Lipstick."

My eyes focused on the small tube she was holding up.

"Oh, yeah. Perfect."

Ella smiled, and I felt a flood of relief. She turned around. Where was I? Oh, yeah. Bored. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, and saw a message from Nudge. Birdkid Olympics? Any excuse to get away from shopping with Ella.

"Sorry, Ella, birdkid emergency," I mumbled as I sped away.

"I AM NINJAAAA!" Gazzy screamed, baring his tiny fists.

"You are tiny ninja," I remarked, a smile playing on my lips. "And where did you get that tie?" I asked.

He was wearing a dark blue tie wrapped around his forehead, causing his hair to stick out in blond puffs behind it. "Iggy had it," Gazzy shrugged.

I saw Fang tense at the mention of Iggy's name, but decided to deal with one thing at a time. "Ready?" Nudge asked.

I was outside, away from that hellish store, and I'd never been more ready. "I WILL CRUSH YOU!" Gazzy shouted.

"Go!" Nudge yelled, blowing her whistle. We started to circle each other, on the edges of the rough ring Angel had drawn in the grass. Gazzy put on his fierce face and started towards me. I decided to let him get the first punch in. You know, he's just a little—

I made a small choking noise as Gazzy stuck his fist just under my ribcage, knocking the wind out of me. I staggered back and he hit me on my temple. I pulled my wings out and let them hang behind me to improve my balance, my head pounding. Just when my vision stopped swimming, Gazzy tried to trip me. Wavering on one foot, I regained my footing. I blew out some air and focused. I saw the next punch coming amidst cheers for Gazzy, and dodged it.

He tried again, and I twisted his arm back. Off balance, he fell into the grass. I rose up above the ring, and Gazzy followed me up. "NINJA FEELS NO PAIN!" he roared, trying to sock me again, but he'd lost his focus.

I swerved easily in the air, avoiding all his hits, waiting for an opportunity. There. His wings were beating out of time with each other, and he wasn't bobbing as much as swaying. I beat my wings faster, shot up a few feet then closed them completely, free-falling back to Gazzy's level.

Mid-fall, I pushed down on his shoulders, holding him threre, pulling him down with me. He flapped erratically, trying to regain his own free will, but just before we hit the ground I opened my wings again, landing on the ground with Gazzy pinned under me.

"TEN. NINE. EIGHT," Nudge counted.

The yard echoed with cries of "Gazzy!"

I felt pity for him, and a second before time I let him up. Ninja-Gazzy's tie was half-off and his hair crumpled, but he shook my hand.

"So what are the prizes? 'Cause I won," Gazzy said eagerly. Nudge and Angel looked at each other then looked towards Fang. He shook his head, and Angel started rummaging through her pockets.

"A quarter!" she said triumphantly, handing it to Gazzy.

"Cool!" he said, rushing into the house, while Fang ran after him, trying to keep him from destroying too many things.

"And… part of a button," Angel said, holding it out almost apologetically. I examined the crumbled bit on plastic.

"Thanks," I said.

"I can put it on a string for you, if you want to wear it," Angel suggested.

"Sure thing, kiddo." I put my arm on her shoulder as we followed into the house. Suddenly, I was hit by a huge force that shoved me onto the ground. I crumpled on the grass, and heard someone laughing hysterically.

I opened one eye and spit out a mouthful of gray feathers.

"IGGY!"
