Prompt #379 from Tamingthemuse- Launch
Note: From now on most of my Tamingthemuse stories will be named as the challenge.
Xander was sad. He'd woken up twenty minutes ago in their bedroom and Spike wasn't there with him. He'd tried to go find him but all Xander managed to do was crumble onto the floor. Where was Spike? Was he all right? What if it was Thomas who got him into bed and Spike… didn't make it?
"Spike?" Xander called out. "SPIKE!" His breathe came out in pants. Tears were streaming down his face.
Boots stormed up the stairs and a vampire barged into the bedroom. Xander couldn't bear to look.
"Xander? Luv?" Spike asked as he knelt down beside Xander. "What happened?"
Xander launched himself at Spike and threw his arms around his neck. "I thought you were dead." Came the muffled replied.
Spike kissed the side of Xander's head. "Shh… I'm fine, luv. You helped me remember?" He ran his hands down Xander's back. They stayed like that for twenty minutes before Spike pulled away. He kissed Xander. "How are you feeling?" he asked.
"A little woozy," Xander admitted. "And hungry."
"You'll feel better once you've eaten. I've got bacon cooking on the oven." Spike stood and helped Xander up.
"I like bacon," Xander said with a smile.
Spike chuckled. "I know you do."
Turning serious Xander pulled Spike's shirt up making Spike sputter. There were no wounds. No scars. His fingers glided over the pale skin. Tears sprung to his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Spike asked with a frown. Xander shook his head. "Tell me." Spike's unbeating heart broke.
"You're going to live forever and I'm going to die," Xander said quietly.
"Not if you don't want to," Spike replied. He had to stop himself from telling Xander that was never going to happen. That he wouldn't allow it. But he couldn't make that decision for Xander no matter how much he wanted too.
Xander's eyes widened. "You mean you'd… um… what would you do?"
Spike smiled. His Xander was still as naïve as ever. It was adorable. "It means that I'd turn you. I would bite you here," he said as his fingers grazed the bite mark on Xander's neck. "I'd drain you but just before you… died I would give you some of my blood. When you wake up you'll be like me."
"And we would be together forever?" Xander asked hesitantly.
"I'm never letting you go," Spike said with a possessive growl.
A shiver went down Xander's spine. The growl should have scared him but it didn't. "W-when would you do it?"
"Whenever you feel ready. I'm not going to push you. We have plenty of time." Spike said kissing Xander's forehead.
That wasn't good enough for Xander because he caught Spike's lips with his own. His fingers wrapped themselves in crunchy, blonde hair.
Spike's arms wrapped around Xander's frame pulling him flushed again him. All he wanted to do was throw Xander onto the bed and take him then and there but he had to wait. He wouldn't push. He couldn't. Finally he was able to pull himself away from Xander his eyes dilated. "We should stop before I lose control. Besides we don't want a grease fire burning down the place."
"You're right," Xander replied with a nod. "But soon. Really soon."
Spike almost came in his pants.
