Combat Class

Cardin Winchester, leader of Team CRDL, was wielding a mace as he faced down none other Jaune. Given the latter looked as though he'd just run at minimum 3 marathons, it was plain to see that this fight was not going in his favor.

Jaune looked up at Cardin, gathered his energy, and, with a battle cry, charged. The Team RAIN member went for an overhead slash, but Cardin dodged before swinging his weapon into Jaune's shield knocking it out of his hand.

This knocked his shield away and him to the ground. Jaune rose back to his feet with sword in hand and went with another overhead slash which Cardin effortlessly blocked with his weapon. Jaune tried to push back, but Cardin was the one to succeed in that task.

"This is the part where you lose." Cardin declared.

"Over my dead…" Jaune was interrupted by a knee to the gut which brought him to the ground grasping his stomach.

Cardin then raised his mace only for the buzzer to go off and the lights to come on.

"That's enough!" Glynda walked to the edge of the stage. "Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now. Please refer to your scroll during combat. Gauging your Aura will help you decide on a proper next course of action. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, would we?"

"Speak for yourself." Cardin stated.

He shouldered his weapon and was about to get off the stage before Glynda stopped him. "Hold it, Mr. Winchester. You still have one more duel."

"With who?" Cardin asked.

Glynda looks at her tablet. "You will be fighting Mr. Kurosaki."

The room got dark again and lights lit up as Ichigo walked into the arena.

"Heh, so my opponent is the amnesiac?" Cardin smirked. "This will be easy."

The armored leader simply didn't buy into anything surrounding this guy. Soloing a Menos Grande? Either Kisuke was full of it concerning these Hollows, or his little friends were liars. Taking on the blond brawler with no damage? She must be a bigger joke than he is.

As for Ichigo, he could care less about what he managed to overhear this guy say about Jaune. What Ichigo did have a problem with was the more physical things Cardin did. Despite his willingness to step in, Jaune wouldn't let him, so this was a good excuse to do so.

"Hey you." As the timer counted down, Cardin decided to talk. "I've heard all the rumors, but I'm betting they're exaggerations." He smirked as he held out his arms. "I'm so confident that I'll give a free hit. Give me your best shot right out the gate."

Ichigo said nothing as he drew his sword. When the countdown hit zero, he was immediately surrounded by his sky blue Aura.

Ichigo swung out his blade send a crescent of his Aura fly at Cardin. "Getsuga Tensho!"

By the time Cardin realized he shouldn't let this hit him, it was too late. The armored leader was sent hurtling into the back wall. Upon hitting it at full force, Cardin was rendered unconscious with the monitor showing his Aura was gone. Students gasped as the lights came back on.

"Calm down." Ichigo sheathed his blade. "I could sense his Aura, and I have control over my own. I knew exactly how much it'd take to render merely unconscious."

"Someone, take Mr. Winchester to the infirmary." Glynda instructed which brought the other members of CRDL down before she turned to Ichigo. "Mr. Kurosaki, I know he asked you to, but please try to be gentler in the future."

"I knew exactly what limits I needed to push." Ichigo retorted before walking away. "Punish me for my next words if you want, but someone like him needs a wakeup call before they foolishly decide to challenge something like a Menos."

Even if Ichigo didn't like someone much, he wouldn't want to see them dead. While getting payback for Jaune was a part of why he did this, it doesn't mean it wouldn't have the added benefit of making Cardin think twice about what he does in general."

Glynda just sighed before addressing the students. "Remember everyone, the Vital Festival is only a few months away. It won't be long until students from the other kingdoms start arriving, so keep practicing." This information excited a lot of students. "Those who choose to compete will be representing all of Vale."

Then, the school bell rang which meant it was time for lunch. In Ichigo's opinion, aside from normal Grimm Studies, Beacon's curriculum wasn't bad. The shifting classes kept things interesting.

Cafeteria

"There we were, in the middle of the night!" Nora began.

"It was day." Ren corrected.

Teams RAIN and RBYN were sitting and eating together just as they have since that first day. Right now, Nora was telling a story while Ren corrected everything she made up. Some were listening while others were not.

"We were surrounded by Ursai."

"They were Beowloves."

"Dozens of them!"

"Two of them."

"In the end, they were no match." Nora continued. "Ren and I took them down before making a butt load of Lien selling Ursa skin rugs."

Ren sighed. "She's been having these reoccurring dreams for nearly a month now."

Pyrrha looked at Jaune in worry as he had been doing nothing but playing with his food. "Jaune, are you okay?"

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"Well partner, it's just that you've been a little… not okay lately." Ruby broached.

"Guys, I'm fine." Jaune put on an unconvincing smile. "Seriously, look!"

"Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the second week of school started." Ichigo voiced.

"Who, Cardin Winchester?" Jaune turned to him. "Nah, he just likes to mess around, you know? Practical jokes."

"He's a bully." Ruby stated angry on her teammate's behalf.

"Oh please." Jaune waved it off. "Name one time he's 'bullied' me."

"I've seen him regularly knock books out of your hand." Ren voiced.

"He's often messed with your shield resulting in you getting stuck in doorways." Blake added.

"There was that time he shoved you in one of the rocket propelled lockers and sent you off." Yang continued.

"I mean… I didn't land far from the school." Jaune tried.

"Jaune." Ruby stated firmly. "Pyrrha, Ichigo, and I are willing to help you with this. All you got to do is ask."

"Team RBYN would be more than willing to help as well." Ren voiced.

"Yeah, we'll break his legs!" Nora declared with a gleam in her eyes.

"Guys, it's fine." Jaune got up and grabbed his tray. "Besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me. He's a jerk to everyone."

As if to prove his point, some commotion caught the attention of both teams. They saw Cardin was pulling on the ears of a brown-haired Rabbit Faunus. Suddenly, everyone felt a familiar wind and looked to see that Ichigo was no longer there.

"Ow, That hurts!" The Faunus cried. "Please…"

Suddenly, Cardin let go as he felt someone tapping his shoulder. He turned only to glare daggers as he saw Ichigo standing there. The leader hadn't noticed him, but the other three members of CRDL had which shocked them since the swordsman hadn't been there a moment ago.

"What do you want?" Cardin asked.

Considering it worked on the thug, Ichigo saw no reason not to suddenly kick Cardin in the face hard enough that he was knocked to the ground. Like that time prior, he proceeded to rapidly stomp his foot into the back. The ease with which he did this intimidated Cardin's teammates.

"Cardin's down!" Russel exclaimed. "We got to help him."

"Are you crazy?' Dove questioned. "You saw what Ichigo did during class, right?"

"Don't forget what he just did." Sky added. "You want to attack the psycho, be our guest."

Ichigo eventually managed to break Cardin's Aura before delivering the final kick which knocked him out.

"Hey, you three." The other members looked at him as he picked Cardin up and thew the unconscious body over to them. "Take your leader back to the nurse's office. When he wakes up, remind him what happened provided he doesn't remember him."

"Right!" The three conscious members of Team CRDL were quick to agree before beating a hasty retreat.

"Now you…" Ichigo faced the Rabbit Faunus who was in shock. "You okay?"

"Yeah…" The Faunus responded.

"You let him grab your ears." Ichigo broached.

"I did, but you saved me." She smiled weakly at him. "Thank you."

"You shouldn't be happy about that, he shouldn't have done that, and you shouldn't have let it get to that point." Ichigo stated firmly. "You're here training to fight just as I or anyone else is, right? Not to mention I don't recall ever seeing you among any of the other first years.

That means you got to be a year or two above him, so I shouldn't have to step in like this. You've got to gain a sense of pride and fight for your own sake." She squirmed under his admonishing vision. "How can you protect anyone if you can't even protect yourself?"

"B-but… if I did… he'd try again… or he'd get hurt." The Faunus stated.

"Someone like him getting hurt doesn't matter because he deserves it." Ichigo responded. "The one thing you don't need in battle is fear. Fearing what he'll do in the future? Fearing hurting him? None of that is relevant at all in a fight. If you can't beat him, ask your team for help.

If you can, send the message he can't get away with this. If someone like Cardin doesn't learn this lesson now, he'll get worse. He might even end up dead because he never learned Faunus could be strong like he seems to think he is. This goes beyond Faunus.

Letting a bully get away with whatever he wants because you don't want to hurt him…" He glanced back at his table and locked eyes with Jaune. "…or you want to prove some arbitrary point only succeeds in encouraging that bully. Now, I'm going back to my lunch."

With his peace said, Ichigo rejoined his team.

"I should have expected you'd do something like that." Ruby smiled. "After all, you're cool like that, so it makes sense you'd stand up to Cardin."

"Like I said, bullies will never learn their lesson if they face no repercussions." Ichigo reiterated simply. "If that repercussion is some guy coming around kicking your teeth in, it should eventually beat the lesson in."

"It was still very brave." Pyrrha stated. "Had you needed it, we'd have backed you up."

"My team would have been right there with them." Ren assured.

"Absolutely." Blake was the first to confirm the claim. "I hate guys like them."

"Right!" Nora cheered.

"Getting to beat some jerks like them up?" Yang smiled. "You'd have to keep me away."

"I'm aware all of you would have stepped in were it necessary." Ichigo smiled. "I don't think even all four of them would have been cause enough for that."

The group ate peacefully for the remainder of the lunch as they talked about school work and other topics of interest. Ichigo did notice Jaune glancing at him from time to time; however, he also seemed rather deep in thought.

History

RAIN, RBYN, and other students were currently in Prof. Oobleck's class. Prof. Oobleck was a hyperactive teacher who had a love for coffee. While gliding across the class room with incredible speed, he teaches history.

"Prior to the Faunus Right Revolution, more popularly known as the Faunus War, Humanity was quite adamant about centralizing the Faunus population in Menagerie. While this might feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember these are relatively recent events.

Why, the repercussions can still be seen to this day." He took a sip of his coffee. "Now, have any of you been subjugated or discriminated against due to your Faunus heritage?" Quite a few students raised their hands.

"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" He took another sip. "I mean, just look at the White Fang. Now, which of you young scholars can tell me what theorists believe to be the major turning point in the third year of war?"

Pyrrha raised her hand prompting the professor to call on her. "It was The Battle of Fort Castle, sir."

"Precisely." Oobleck declared. "Now, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"

Ichigo had felt eyes on the back of his head and turned to see Cardin glaring daggers at him. The swordsman simply shrugged before turning back to the teacher.

"If you want an answer, it's simply easier to train an animal rather than a soldier." Cardin voiced.

Oobleck shook his head disapprovingly.

"Genera Lagune was a moron who thought himself better than his enemy." Ichigo voiced. "Superiority complexes have no place in a war just as they have no place in a fight. Even back then, it was common knowledge that most Faunus have night vision.

General Lagune still thought himself and his men superior enough to attempt an ambush in the dead of night. As a result, his massive army was outmatched and later captured. What one can learn from this battle is important in the fights we as Hunters will need to take on."

Cardin growled angrily as he knew the way Ichigo worded that answer was a direct jab at him. "Do we have a problem here?

"I gave the answer I felt was correct." Ichigo retorted plainly. "If you felt offended by it, then that's on you."

Cardin stood up while clenching his fist only for Oobleck to speak up. "Mr. Winchester, take your seat." The leader sat down. "You can also see me after class for some additional readings."

Cardin clenched his teeth but said nothing more as he plopped down in his chair. After that, the rest of Oobleck's class continued without interruption.

Rooftop: Evening…

Ichigo was on the roof once more. After that initial day, when he used it to get a break from all the other students, it became a good place to go and relax. Currently, he was looking at a message Professor Ozpin sent him.

"Ichigo, I would like for you to meet with me roughly two hours before classes begin tomorrow. I will say that I have yet to ascertain a way to return your memory, but I do have something that might interest you."

"Wonder what he wants to discuss with me?" Ichigo contemplated.

"Ah, I should have figured this is where you'd be." Jaune's voice rang out.

"Jaune?" Ichigo looked back at him and raised an eye brow when he noticed the blond seemed rather nervous. "Did Ruby send you to find me?"

"No, she didn't." Jaune walked on up and came to stand beside Ichigo. "It's just… I've been thinking about what you said during lunch today, and you were right. I was trying to prove I'm not some useless guy who can't handle himself.

I already suck at fighting despite what you said to me just last week. It's just, I didn't want to feel any more useless to the team than I do. After hearing you today, I realized I was being stupid, so I want you to teach me how to fight."

"Come again?" Ichigo asked.

"I want you to train me." Jaune reiterated. "I need a teacher who can work with me from the ground up, and you're super good at what you do. If you can even teach me to be half as good as what you are, I'd be content with myself."

Ichigo didn't quite expect this even though he did think Jaune could benefit from being able to defend himself during times the rest of the team wasn't around to save him. The problem lay in the fact that Ichigo had no idea if he could teach.

He obviously had no memory of teaching anyone before. Up to this point, he had never given any thought to technique or how he wielded his own sword. He relied on his instinct and usually that's all he needed. His body moved how it needed to, and he never questioned why.

"Look." Jaune spoke up after noticing Ichigo failed to find an answer. "I understand you probably have zero experience teaching another, so I can be patient with you on figuring out what you want to teach me provided you can be patient with me learning, okay?"

"Alright Jaune, under those condition, I'll teach you what I can." Ichigo stated.

"Thank you!" Jaune smiled before adding, "Oh, please don't tell anyone about this. It's already embarrassing enough that I must ask another student to teach me how to fight, so I'd prefer it if everyone else didn't know."

Ichigo shrugged. "No problem."

"Awesome!" Jaune smiled. "Thanks for agreeing."

"Anyways, we'll get started soon enough." Ichigo glanced over his shoulder and pointedly looked down. "Right now, we should probably get back to the room before we end up worrying Ruby."

The pair made their way to the door down with Ichigo sparing one more look just beyond where they'd been standing. Ultimately, he eventually followed Jaune back into Beacon. After a few minutes passed, Cardin climbed onto the roof and looked angrily in the direction Ichigo left.

He then pulled out his scroll and called the first contact he had. "Someone's giving me trouble…"

Team RAIN's Room: Night…

Ruby, Pyrrha, and Ichigo were asleep while Jaune was up looking at his weapons with a smile. "With Ichigo's help, I could become the hero I've always wanted to be."

"That'll never happen." Jaune heard his own voice and turned to see a dimly glowing version of himself crouched behind him. "The truth is that you never deserved to be here." Vine markings spread all over Jaune's body. "Don't you agree?"

Ozpin's Office: Early Morning…

Ichigo stepped out of the elevator and moved to stand before Ozpin's desk. "You requested to meet with me, old man?"

"Indeed, I have." Ozpin smiled. "Ichigo, Glynda has informed me you are quite a prodigious fighter. In fact, she determines your skills could very well give our fourth years trouble. Given what you've achieved in your shirt time here, I'd say your skills lie beyond that. All of this is why I wish to bring something to your attention."

He produced a flyer and passed it over the desk.

Ichigo picked it up. "The Valish Tourney?"

"I would like my students to be challenged during their time here." Ozpin informed. "I fear only certain students could do that to you. Even taking that into account, I believe you might be the strongest student Beacon has, so I figured I'd bring this to your attention."

"You really think I need this?" Ichigo asked.

"I'll put it this way." Ozpin stated. "As I've said, you may be Beacon's strongest student, but I don't believe that to be the end of your potential. It is often through struggle that we find the motivation to grow."

"Well, it sounds interesting." Ichigo folded the flyer and tucked it away. "When I have the time, I'll probably see about entering." He thought about it. "Maybe some of my teammates or some of Team RBYN would like to try their hand at it."

"Of course, do with this information as you see fit." Ozpin stated. "Now, have a good day Mr. Kurosaki."

Ichigo took his leave while Ozpin leaned back in his chair. "Kisuke would know more about Ichigo then I would, and he seems almost certain Ichigo would agree." He tapped his fingers on his desk. "I should make some calls and see what challenges I can arrange."

Team RAIN's Room: Later…

Ichigo returned to the room to see Pyrrha and Ruby were already up and about while Jaune was still sleeping. This wasn't out of the ordinary considering Ichigo was usually sleeping too. As the time for classes started drawing closer, the fact that he was still asleep drew attention.

"Jaune, get up!" Ruby shook him quite vigorously. "You got to get ready for class!" No matter how fast she shook the guy, he wasn't waking. "I wish I still had my whistle…" She shot a glare Ichigo's way. "…but someone decided to throw it out a window."

"I don't regret it." Ichigo approached the guy. "Here, let me…" He laid a hand on Jaune only to pause. "His Aura… It felt normal until I came into contact with him."

"Ichigo, is something wrong?" Pyrrha asked.

The swordsman quickly ripped away the covers to reveal the vine patterns in their teammate's skin. Seeing this shocked the two ladies on the team. Almost as soon as the covers were removed, Jaune started sweating and shivering.

"Oh no, we need to get him to the nurse!" Ruby declared.

"Not a bad idea in theory, but this isn't any normal aliment." Ichigo stated. "We need Ozpin."

Later…

Getting Ozpin turned into Team RBYN, Glynda, and Ozpin who came with Shion. The latter approached Jaune and ran her hand along the markings.

"It's here." Shion stated. "We need to start now."

Classroom

They moved Jaune to the nearest classroom and laid him on the ground while Shion set her case on the table before opening it to reveal her tools of the kind of Huntress she was. She put together a dreamcatcher staff and began moving it to generate her special thread.

"My name is Shion Zaiden, and I am a Nightmare Hunter." Shion declared.

"What's a Nightmare?" Pyrrha asked.

"A type of Grimm that can possess people and grows by draining their Aura." Shion explained as her thread wove into intricate shapes. "The victim is trapped in their dreams while becoming a breeding ground for them."

"So, all we got to do is kill the Grimm to rescue him?" Ruby asked.

"Yes, inside his dream." Shion replied.

"Inside his dream?" Ichigo asked.

"This is a task that no mere stranger could do." Shion responded. "There needs to be some level of familiarity; otherwise, their heart will reject you. Are any of you willing to enter his dream and fight this Grimm?"

The patterns of thread formed together and lifted Jaune off the ground before covering his eyes.

"Jaune is a member of Team RAIN, so it'll be his teammates that help him." Ruby declared firmly. "We will free our friend."

Pyrrha and Ichigo nodded resolutely with that sentiment. So, the remaining members of Team RAIN got onto the threads and lied down letting themselves be connected to Jaune as yawn dolls of the four of them descended from the ceiling.

Jaune's Dream

Jaune was surrounded by rabbit warrior statues. There were also long pillars all through the room he was in. His armor, sword, and shield stood around him taunting the student.

"For generations, men of the Arc Clan have become glorious warriors."

"Then, you came along. What a disappointment."

"You're an incompetent, miserable coward."

"No." Jaune buried his head between his legs. "I know I can do it. I can do it." He reverted to a child, bunny humanoid who was crying. "Saphron, I'm scared. Help me."elp

Multiple Nightmares appeared atop the heads of the statue as they relished in his negative emotions.

"Jaune!" Ruby's voice rang out.

Jaune looked around. "Who's there?"

A section of pillar opened revealing Ichigo, Ruby, and Pyrrha.

"We came to get you out." Ruby declared.

Classroom

Shion's phone rang, so she answered it. "Shion here, did you find him?" She listened. "Good. Now, you must fight to set him free." She hung up. "They were able to find Jaune."

"They did it quickly as well." Ozpin smiled. "Excellent."

"They're a good team who care about each other." Shion stated.

Jaune's Dream

Ichigo and Pyrrha spread out cleaving through all the extra Nightmares before the main one began to encircle Jaune. Ruby sped in slicing into the Grim rapidly with her scythe until it vanished. Jaune then returned to normal and looked around as his team approached.

"Ruby… Ichigo… Pyrrha…"

Classroom

The markings all over Jaune's body vanished before a hole in his chest opened, and the Nightmare escaped before it closed behind it. Shion then acted ensnaring the Grimm with her thread before locking it within a jar.

"Now, it's your turn to be a captive." Shion declared as the Grimm banged against the lid. "Stay in there and become a seed once more."

The Grimm became a green seedling.

"A seed?" Blake questioned as she looked at it. "So, this is like a plant?"

"Usually, Grimm will take on the form of a beast but some are unique." Glynda informed. "Remember that."

Shion was removing her threads from Team RAIN, and Jaune bolted awake into a sitting position. "I overslept! Oh no!" Pyrrha and Ruby laughed at that while Ichigo had a smile on his face making the guy look around. "What's going on?"

"I'm glad we caught it before it became too large." Shion voiced. "Fortunately, while his Aura might be strong, it is underdeveloped."

Everyone had gathered around the blonde happy that he was back to normal.

"His Semblance hasn't awakened yet either." Glynda commented. "That worked in his favor."

"I'm glad you're okay, Jaune." Ruby declared.

"Thanks guys." Jaune stated.

"You should be aware that I sensed other Nightmares in the forest." Shion informed. "The more conflict and turmoil within, the more they'll prey on you." She looked at Ozpin. "Please tell all other students to remain vigilant."

Hallway

Ren had gathered his team in the hall to discuss what happened.

"Listen up everyone." Yang declared. "If you're feeling down, just talk to each other."

"Indeed." Ren nodded. "Even if you believe some of us to be unapproachable, relying on each other is part of being a team with or without these Grimm. If need be, any of you three can talk to me."

"Yeah, Renny's a great listener." Nora declared. "There are times he's spent hours listening to me, and he always knows just what to say."

"Hopefully you know the three of us are here for you as well, boss." Yang declared.

Ren nodded with a smile. "Quite."

Blake's gaze shifted to a nearby window. "I think we'll all be fine." She was more content keeping her life story to herself and simply denying the possibility she may have been infected like Jaune. "For now, we should head back to the room."

Ren looked at Blake as she dismissed this before resolving that now was not the optimal time to address this. "Good idea."

Classroom

Shion and Glynda had left Ozpin with Team RAIN. "Considering today is Friday, and your teammate has been through a rather difficult morning, I think I'm going to excuse your team from today's classes in favor of an arguably light assignment."

"Is that really okay, sir?" Pyrrha asked.

"Dealing with a Nightmare is a rather trying task." Ozpin responded. "I think your team would be better served having a day out in Vale showing Mr. Kurosaki around."

"While that sounds like a good idea, I think there's something I need to say to all of you." Jaune rubbed the back of his head. "After dealing with that Nightmare, I wouldn't want to run the risk of one hitching a ride on me again and inconveniencing my teammates."

"Jaune, it wasn't an inconvenience." Ruby interrupted quickly. "We all had the choice to go in there, and it's a choice each of us made willingly."

"Plus, it wasn't much of an inconvenience." Pyrrha assured. "That Nightmare barley put up a fight."

"Yeah, we all came to help you even though I believe any one of us would have been enough." Ichigo added.

"I appreciate that, but based on what I heard, we were lucky my Aura wasn't developed." Jaune looked away before deciding to take the plunge. "I never earned my spot at this academy."

His teammates were confused.

"What do you mean Jaune?" Ruby asked. "You were accepted just like any of us."

"I shouldn't have been." Jaune responded. "I didn't go to any combat school or pass any test. I didn't earn my place at this academy. I lied. I got my hands on some fake transcripts."

Pyrrha was shocked at that. "Why did you do it?"

"It's because this is all I've wanted to be." Jaune responded. "My father, my grandfather, and his father before him were warriors. Heroes. I wanted to be like them, but my father never thought I was good enough. He gave up on me early on.

From then on, all I had was what I could manage alone, and the passing Hunter willing to show me something. This is all I've ever wanted to be. I want to be the person saving people rather than the person others save. That's why I did this."

"I already knew the transcripts were fake, but perhaps there is more to gain from this if I play along." Ozpin reasoned. "While I don't doubt what you say, I got to ask why you decided to reveal this now."

"It's because this incident could have been avoided if I had spoken up." Jaune stated. "If I had been as strong as my teammates, the Nightmare would have been worse putting my teammates, my friends, in danger." He stood forlornly. "Now, I'll pack my things and leave."

Ruby, Ichigo, and Pyrrha encircled Jaune to stop him; however, Ozpin spoke up before they could. "Why ever would you need to do that?"

"It's because you'll expel me." Jaune responded confused.

"When did I ever say you were?" Ozpin asked.

At that, everyone froze.

"W-What?" Jaune asked.

"Transcripts are merely a measure for us to weed out those who may be unable to handle Beacon's curriculum." Ozpin informed. "We fight Grimm, so students should have a certain level of skill. Of course, mistakes or choices are made which allow people to slip through.

Ruby and Ichigo, for example, were let in on my word. Ruby doesn't have your standard transcripts since she is two years younger, and Ichigo has no transcripts to speak of much like yourself at this point. The determining factor that says you are in is passing initiation.

At that point, I could care less what your prior transcripts were because all that matters now is what your current records will say. The truth is, plenty who've attended combat schools have failed or were rejected. In short, even having real transcripts doesn't mean your accepted.

"I only survived because Pyrrha and Ichigo each saved me at certain points while Ruby opened my Aura." Jaune responded. "They're the only reasons I'm standing here right now."

"Hm, most would say that means you owe your teammates your life Mr. Arc." Ozpin stated. "Let's see what they have to say on the subject."

"I think he's being an idiot for attempting to waste my time." Ichigo crossed his arms. "While I didn't know about all of this, just yesterday he asked me to train him and got me to agree. Now, here he is sounding like he wants you to expel him. I say he stays."

"I'm in agreement with Ichigo. Jaune stays." Pyrrha stated. "If he's concerned that he'll hold us back, I'll gladly assist in his training. For as strong and skilled as Ichigo is, there are likely many things I can show Jaune in wielding a sword and shield."

"I don't understand." Jaune sighed. "After learning everything, you should all view me as a failure."

"Nope." Ruby declared.

"Nope?" Jaune questioned.

"Nope." Ruby smiled. "You're a member of Team RAIN Jaune, and no member of my team is allowed to be a failure."

"Wha…What if I am a failure at being a member of this team?" Jaune questioned.

"Nope." Ruby declared. "As your leader, I won't hear of it. The facts are that this decision isn't yours to make anymore because you're a member of this team. If you were expelled or ended up leaving, the three of us would track you down and drag you back here.

Leaving isn't what you want, and we'll help you with that. Pyrrha will train you in wielding a sword and shield, I can modify your weapons to give them a gun function and a mode that'll make them like Ichigo's. Then, he can teach you to wield that."

"Well, I believe that settles it." Ozpin smiled. "Wouldn't you say, Mr. Arc?"

Jaune looked at his teammates. "Yeah, looks like I'm staying."

"Well then, it seems your team will have a lot of work ahead of you, but I feel now more than ever that you should spend at least today having some fun." Ozpin walked to the door. "Vale awaits you, children."
